101  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: [WTB] 6btc using Paypal on: April 17, 2017, 10:55:17 PM
Have you had a chargeback on a friend and family or gift send? I doubt it if it has been in the last two years. As far as believing a girl that works for paypal, I'll believe her or someone posting on a forum that likely hasn't had a chargeback under the stated circumstances.
102  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: [WTB] 6btc using Paypal on: April 17, 2017, 08:19:42 PM
You can still charge back under friends and family.

Why do you think nearly all sellers here will not accept PayPal even for small amounts.

Escrow will offer no protection in a charge back scenario.

This is a high risk trade for little reward.
Well according to Paypal there is no chargeback available on either friends and family or for gift. I know that first hand when I tried to do a chargeback after buying a smartphone several months ago. As far as the reward being small, are you having a laugh? 5% on $7k is 350 bucks, that isn't a small reward.

Anyway, if you aren't wanting to do the deal, keep your piehole shut since you are not involved. It is astonishing how many people with nothing involved feel compelled to comment.  BTW, I already did a 6btc deal @3% today and am looking to do another one. The Antminer L3's are too hard to pass up lol.

you wrong, chargeback possible even if you send as friends or family option, when real owner of pp account claims  unauthorized transactions .
I am the real owner of the account but paypal refused to do a chargeback on the phone(not only didn't work, but was the wrong model). I eventually got my bank to reverse it. A girl I talked with at paypal said they don't do a chargeback on friends or family nor gift. She said it prevents family from sending to other family members and then getting the money back, leaving paypal stuck. If you had this happen to you, I doubt it was recently.

Thats a $7k chargeback risk for <5%

Think you may have to put up with that slight delay on Coinbase
When sending friends and family as well as using escrow, the seller has very little risk. Chargeback isn't even possible AFAIK.

I've been getting a LOT of messaging wanting to buy my miner. I don't wish to highjack the thread, so this will be my last post regarding my miner.

EDIT: I won't be selling the miner after all and most of you will understand why. My 6 year old daughter just informed me not to sell it because she has been secretly monitoring the Baikal on the web interface and changing what coin/algo it is mining. Apparently she has been watching whattomine and changing the miner for best profitability several times a day Tongue She knows I just ordered several A4's and components for 8 Vega based mining rigs, and she wants to help with those too.........for 5% management fee of course LMAO. Well at least she is interested in something other than boys and drugs. *feels relieved* Looks like my mining is about to take a 5% hit on fees while I still have to secretly monitor what she is mining  Undecided

BTW, I didn't tell her that the Baikal mining software already mines the most profitable Tongue
Well its look like dawn of BLOCKCHAIN generation. after internet and touchscreen generation.
or in this situation more of ALTCOIN GIRL. (SUPER GIRL MEME).
This afternoon when she is back home from school she wants me to let her assemble a mining rig. Of course that makes me a bit nervous, but what could possibly go wrong??!!! Oh wait.....she is 6. Dad is gonna a lot of need valium for this.

I'm wanting to buy 6 btc using paypal. Please PM me your rate. If you are over 5% don't waste your time. I simply have a slight delay on Coinbase that I can wait out instead of paying ridiculous fees.

I'm looking to buy 6btc using paypal as long as you don't have some insane rate. Please PM me if you can handle the order. Thanks

@Claymore: Feature request  Grin
Can you please consider the possibility of introducing some kind of pool management mechanism? Allowing us to move to one of the failover pools without having to restart the miner or change the config file?
Right now, dcr.suprnova is not displaying my hashrate so I would like to temporarily move to my failover DCR pool. But I can only do that by restarting the miner and changing the config files.
Not a practical solution, right?
Can you please give it some thought?
Thanks!

From Readme, "FAILOVER" section:
....
You can reload "epools.txt" and "dpools.txt" files in runtime by pressing "r" key.
....
Also check my answer a bit above: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1433925.msg18614680#msg18614680

Thank you for the prompt replay. I'm familiar with that feature and I've been using it. I was asking for a way to cycle through the available pools without the need to change the contents of the .txt files.

Hmm... How do you think it must look like?
I guess I am still not understanding. I can reload the failover pools, but how do I manually switch to another pool without the first pool failing? For example in sgminer I can hit "p" to list the pools loaded by the .conf, then hit "s" to switch pools, it will ask me for the pool number from the list of loaded pools........let's say I'm on pool 1 and want to start mining on pool 7 ......in sgminer I would type p s 7 enter, and then spacebar or any other key to get out of the "p" menu.

How can I accomplish the same thing in your miner?

@Claymore Can you implement it to where we can change pools without restarting the miner? I can do this in other miners by using a .conf, but haven't seen how to do it with your miners.....unless I have just missed how to do it.

I have a Baikal 150mh/s I'll sell for $500, which is what I paid for it. It has the latest software and runs great. These are seriously good miners. Why would I sell you ask? One word.......Vega. PM if interested.

I'll throw in the power supply for free.

What is vega?
Google AMD Vega

I have two Sapphire NITRO R9 380's 4GB, one ASUS Strix R9 380 4GB, and a Sapphire Vapor X R9 270X 2GB for sale. Currently they are on Ebay. I'll take $125usd for each of the Sapphire 380's, $110 for the ASUS, and $75 for the 270X. Buy all the 380's and I'll give you the 270X. Shipping is actual cost from whatever shipper you choose. Payment in BTC or Zclassic preferred. If you want an escrow, you pay their fee( I used to do escrow)

The Sapphire 380's were recently RMA'd and they replaced both. The 270X has new fans. All the cards are currently mining.

~snip~

I know this isn't very helpful if you already have a system running Windows 10 but honestly - from all the stuff I have read all over these and other forums, and from my own experience and that of a few of my friends.... Windows 10 is just a minefield of problems as a platform for a mining rig.

I believe that if you must use Windows (Linux is the best solution if you can understand it and use it properly) then Windows 8.1 seems to be the best option. It has almost all of the modern features that Win10 has, but none (or much less) of the annoying forced updates and inbuilt data mining/surveillance crap. The amount of things that Windows 10 does in the background or at random times which consume large amounts of system resources - without your control annoys the crap out of me. Not to mention how often I come home and my Windows 10 machine (a mostly non mining gaming & htpc machine) has just rebooted itself after an update without asking me or warning me. That is not a reliable and stable OS - it's a social media and entertainment platform on the surface and a data mining and "advertizing customer collector" underneath. Fuck Windows 10.

I recently built a new rig based on Nvidia cards (1070 and 2 1060s) and I am very glad I still had the ability to install Win8.1 on to this rig. The only reason I used Windows at all was because I don't really know anything about using Nvidia GPUs for mining in Linux. My other rig is Linux based with AMD GPUs and is so stable I almost never even have to look at it - it "just works".
You can turn off the auto-update in Windows 10. I understand the Linux fanboy stance, but it has it's own problems too, such as shit graphics drivers.

I wish Claymore would write his own drivers just for mining rigs.
