101  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Netflix to accept Bitcoins soon on: February 02, 2014, 08:03:42 PM
Definitely speculation. No big news with a company thinking about doing something. If they roll it out, THAT will be news!
102  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Shocked At What Alt Coins Are For on: February 02, 2014, 07:49:15 PM
Altcoins have their use. It is a great way to test out new features. PPC is showing some promising new features that have set it apart in my mind. They also help support BTC, like how other precious metals support gold.

I'm pro altcoins. I think BTC is the only one that's reached the point to be taken seriously as a currency. As it gains more and more acceptance, I believe we'll see LTC follow suit. Once you have two commonly accepted cryptocurrencies, the entire industry will be secure and altcoins will start becoming increasingly attractive.

There are many Fiat currencies. Why harp on more than one crypto?
103  Other / Off-topic / Re: Girls Gone Bitcoin Miss Colorado lost title after being paid 10BTC for porn on: February 02, 2014, 07:09:00 PM
Why is it always these Miss Whatevers are usually always involved in some prostitution scandal or whatever.

Because when non-titled girls do it it's just prostitution or whatever. Not newsworthy to report that another young gal shot a porn.

Listen to all you prudes!

Are you telling me you wouldn't have a problem with someone having sex for free? but add money into the equation it's all of a sudden sickening.

I don't mean to blow anyone's mind here but YOU ALL do stuff for money, and it doesn't gross you out.

Tongue

I hope you are the second person who chose 'porn for public'.

An entire fraternity must have saved up, the poor girl probably had no clue it would hit the publics view that quick! What was she thinking! I would have paid her 20 BTC to not do it and send those n00bs home!

I will not have sex with anyone tonight for 20 BTC.
109  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: QRK is climbing crazy like on: February 02, 2014, 07:10:02 AM
Why does china care about quark inparticular?

I would like to underscore this. Is it a Quark thing? Or is it a crypto thing? BTC/LTC/PPC seem to be improving nicely at the moment.
110  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How do you calculate the "real" worth of a cryptocoin on: February 02, 2014, 06:52:10 AM
I put more importance into how the coin is being used. If people are just mining and collecting, there's no real commerce holding it up. BTC is obviously the best example. It's being used. People are accepting it for goods and service.

That's what I look at when considering a coin. If you're evaluating one earlier before actual use would be realistic, I would imagine seeing if it brings anything new to the table that might attract future commerce (faster transactions or something).

I know this isn't the technical answer you were hoping for. My apologies. It is, however, how I evaluate the real worth of a currency.
111  Economy / Gambling / Re: PrimeDice.com | 400M+ Bets | 300k+ BTC Wagered | Free BTC | 1% Edge | Instant on: February 02, 2014, 05:57:09 AM
I think you should make it so we are able too see other users bets from their profile.

Would that be possible Stunna?

This is a good idea, but I dont think some people will like it.
So you would be on-board with the idea? I have been playing since almost the begging of the site and have always wanted this.

I have mixed feelings. There should be a way to disable it.
Why though? What would be the negative aspects? People would not be able to lie to try and get pity btc? lol There is no real downside to it....

Perhaps the best compromise is to let users filter all bets by user and let them watch live.

I would love that. Sometimes I'll see someone betting and wondering their overall strategy. You only get so much of the story as it is now.
112  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do girls use Bitcoin ? on: February 02, 2014, 04:50:45 AM
I hope so. Otherwise I'm not sure what I'm doing this for.

Well said.

Best way to address the situation.

116  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many bitcoins do you have (poll)? on: February 02, 2014, 12:50:11 AM
I regret not getting into BTC when I first heard about it. I was working at a major tech company when it launched and a group of my friends got into it. Tons of them were server admins so they got into mining. I was into other stuff at the time. Despite being fascinated and having money to spare, I didn't get involved.

Several years later, I'm finally getting involved. I still consider right now to be 'early adopter' territory. We're JUST now seeing some more mainstream acceptance (with Overstock and Tiger Direct, among others). I really enjoy BTC and cryptocurrencies overall being considered as the internet of money. (Here's the article, I'll let him make his own point  http://theumlaut.com/2014/01/08/bitcoin-internet-of-money/)

Imagine getting in on the internet a few  years after its inception? Or television? I believe cryptos are just as revolutionary (if not moreso).

For that matter, making any type of income online (BTC or otherwise) is still early adopter territory in the grand scheme of things. As far as I'm concerned, widespread high speed internet is little more than a decade old. Most of humanity still isn't online. If you can tap the internet to earn an income, that's cutting edge of humanity shit.

Anyway, I'm rambling. My point is - we're still early adopters in BTC. Invest what you can when you can. The price is always going to fluctuate. Stop worrying about the BTC/USD number and look more at what you can do with it.

Let's adopt BTC as a currency, not as a commodity. That's certainly still early adopter territory.
117  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many bitcoins do you have (poll)? on: February 01, 2014, 11:30:49 PM
wow surprising poll, I figured this forum was filled with bitcoin millionaires, when in fact most people little to no coin.

My reaction exactly. I wonder if the early adopters have already cashed out back when it broke $100. I know I'd be tempted!

119  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Russia Banning Bitcoin on: February 01, 2014, 02:57:42 PM
Its even worse if youre a Gay bitcoin user. Lol

Did we expect anything else from the likes of russia and china?

Did china embrace the internet, no, they dont allow their citizens to use google or facebook openly without being controlled. Why would we expect them to treat bitcoin any differently.

 Grin

That regulation is a perfect example. It's on the books and the firewall is up, however, it's easy to get around. All you need is a $10/mo VPN.

I can't imagine they'll have some super sophisticated BTC blocking technology any time soon.

This guy just really wants somebody to send him BTC looking at his other posts.
