101  Economy / Speculation / Re: why were staying ~800 ish on: January 26, 2014, 07:40:42 AM
you guys sound awfully sure of yourself.

only thing im sure of is that in September nobody I knew had heard of bitcoin. now several people I know are very excited about bitcoin and 5 people have told me they own bitcoin resently. those people are going to tell people. I told the Arab dude at 7-11, bet he will be into it, hes pretty techie always working a few angles while working that job.  the adoption is whats holding us up while lots of yall panic. with all the talk of crashes and catipulation that we are seeing it yet at least, too many new people want coins.
102  Economy / Speculation / why were staying ~800 ish on: January 26, 2014, 06:52:01 AM
I think its got a ton to do with the fact that many of the big holders of coins are now "hedging" their btc holdings with fiat. everywhere you look people are saying "I have plenty of btc, so im protecting my current situation" this is good news imo, its a lot of selling going on by big holders, and a lot of new buyers at the same time holding the price where it it.
If they try to buy back that 20% btc they moved to fiat watch low liquidity/selling pressure meet high buying pressure.
103  Economy / Economics / Re: Has anyone noticed the bitcoin value seems to be decreasing? on: January 26, 2014, 06:29:45 AM
I smell a new buyer....  ive watched the price change 100$ DURING a conversation about bitcoin with someone about it. started with coversation by pulling up the page, and reloading the page at the end of the conversation.

changing value is the REASON most people got into this, just wait a month or 2 and watch it grow. its about net gains over time not "whats it doing right this moment oh noes!"
104  Economy / Speculation / Re: How low will we go in the upcoming crash? on: January 25, 2014, 09:00:07 PM
How low will we go in the upcoming crash?

Itīs pretty clear that there is only one direction left right now V .
Where do you expect the bottom?

HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAH you think 514 is the bulls opinion on the next crash? your funny, guy.

if we go below 650 I'll be a bit surprised myself, and I have full confidence it will be a short dip due to a few big players selling a bunch at a time, that quickly comes back up to 800-900

so i cant vote in your busted poll.

its funny to me that you ask these questions looking for help and people try to help you by saying that your plan is not good, there are better ways of doing it and costing yourself less money by just doing the standard things. you are wanting someone to help you by being a yes man.

ok heres your help, you have a good plan and the answer is yes you can!

my honest reply? just buy bitcoin and wait exactly a year before thinking about it again.
106  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Should I use Coinbase? on: January 19, 2014, 11:38:15 PM
Hey guys. I'm new to the forum and I'm also new to Bitcoin, and I have a question   Smiley

Should I use Coinbase to store Bitcoins? Are they safe?

Thanks.
I think they are safer than some but not nearly as safe as storing them yourself. who knows if coinbase will get hacked somehow, or otherwise fall to pay out. personally I use bitcoin-qt

i hope he makes it , the music industry and bitcoin is a match made in heaven. get them to sing about bitcoin and the waves of adoption will come flooding in!
109  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin Businesses and Developers, Let's Get Started! on: January 19, 2014, 11:08:27 PM
get the message of bitcoin to the music industry. If we can get some rappers talking about bitcoin, accepting bitcoin tips for their music, or showing off bitcoin physical coin, then I know that both we as a community and the musical talent, will benefit hugely. If we can reach out to some big names in youtube as a way for them to get money, maybe they will be onboard. If anyone gets this going please PM me the rappers link to the song, and their btc address so that I can tip as well. I think the adoption this would generate would increase the value of my coin to an extent i could easily part with some.
110  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Will I make my money back? Prospero x-3 on: January 19, 2014, 10:59:21 PM
Hi Everyone!

I'm new to Bitcoin and mining but not new to the tech world. I've been really psyched about the whole thing since I started really reading about it. Now I'm interested in getting involved. Everyone wants to make money in this and I'm no different. I would love to make money, but its not the main reason I want to get in. I want to get in because I believe in it and want to support it. However, I'm not rich. I can't afford to drop tens of thousands of dollars and never see that money come back just to support something I believe in. I have a family to feed yada yada. Anyway, all I really want to know is if I do drop 12 grand on getting two of these Prospero X-3 machines from Black Arrow to be received some time in March or April, I would guess, what are the chances of me making my money back? If I can make my money back, forking $200 or so in electricity here or there on months that I want to be involved wouldn't be too bad. I think Cryptocurrency is the future and I would like to be a part of it...but I don't want to break my bank!

Also, I have read a lot on pool and solo mining and as far as I can tell, one is a fixed income based on your participation (hashrate vs pool hashrate) and the other is a complete gamble. I understand how solo mining can be like playing the lottery, but it seems to me the odds are a lot better than the lottery.

Thanks for your replies.

you may make back your money, assuming they ship on time and also assuming KNC does not ship early Q2. I would think that you could easily make back your $ investment, but probably not the number of btc that same money could buy you know. for example i bought a KNC 100 gh/s rig and after months of running its given me 5 btc and it may kick out 2-3 more before its "useless" if i had bought its cost in bitcoins that day i would have 25 bitcoin.  who knows how long i could have held those coins though given its price rise since then. If the bitcoin price had not gone up Id have lost over 50% but i would have a interesting asic toy..
111  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Mining altcoins currently on: January 19, 2014, 10:42:18 PM
Hi Guys,

Currently, what's your favorite coin mining and why?

Now I'm mining dogecoins because I believe that currency, even started as a joke, will go to the moon!

"Such coins, very profit!"

Im still mining bitcoin because I have long term faith in it much more so than I do alt coins. I know i could gain more btc by mining a lucky coin for a while and trading back to btc but that seems a bit hopeful, and possibly even damaging to the overall health of crypto. To make money trading someone has to lose something, but to mine bitcoin and hold no one is loosing exept the person who waited so long to try and finally buy bitcoin.
112  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What would you sell at? on: January 19, 2014, 10:29:14 PM
i sell now, buy back at 600  Cool

and if it goes higher will you buy back at a loss or be happy with your fiat waiting for the if/when it goes down? Im feeling pretty bullish personally with the winklevoss update, and the "bad new" that isnt even bad news because they cant stop the coin (DUH) coming from russia/china/etc makes me thing the US hearing later this month will be positive for bitcoin as the US trys to be different than those "commies" and the people running for re-election seem to like the idea of anyone giving them campain money.

113  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What would you sell at? on: January 19, 2014, 10:10:49 PM
This is hypothetical, and so easier to answer, but let's say you have exactly 1 Bitcoin. The prices keep going up, with only occasional dips. The price keeps rising and rising.

What's your price? What price would you decide, 'Forget this, I'm cashing out'.

I dont have any plans to sell, I plan to just buy things with my coin as it gains value. example: I really want a house, Id love to buy one in bitcoin, so I guess my "forget this im cashing out price" is; 1 BTC/ house. fuck a dollar bill.
114  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Whitelist Requests (Want out of here?) on: January 19, 2014, 10:02:41 PM
Please whitelist me, I have been reading this site over 6 months and have been mining with a asic since mid october (knc). I got what I feel is a really good idea to spread the word about bitcoin to the masses yesterday watching the movie "BLOW". for those unfamilier with the plot its about the cocaine industry taking hold in America, Jonny Depp stars in this and quickly becomes a huge smuggler and seller of cocaine. In the movie some friends of his ask what lead to his huge success, he says that as soon as the music industry got hold of it, that it was unstoppable.

I propose that we send some msgs to rappers out there. get them to start talking about bitcoin in their songs. get them to add bitcoin addresses to their youtube profiles. If there is one thing other than sex and drugs rappers talk about its MONEY.  ok thanks, hope Im let out =)
