From research into post-quantum cryptography to novel transactional models, the office was filled with exciting developments (no pun intended).
We will soon see a publication of the Blind-bidder add-on, an experimental Chrome-based extension that we will use to enable users to generate Blind-bids for the Block Generator nodes followed by the publication of the consensus module."

Designing a Security Token Blockchain - Part (3): Privacy-Preserving Technology.

Poseidon - The most efficient zero-knowledge friendly implementation
Poseidon is a hash function designed to minimize prover and verifier complexities when zero-knowledge proofs are generated and validated. Compared to competitor hash functions, such as Pedersen Hash, Poseidon uses up to 8x fewer constraints per message bit, which means that it is significantly faster.
Dusk uses zero-knowledge cryptography to preserve privacy. For example to prove that a user is part of a whitelist, a coin is unspent, proving the knowledge of a hash pre-image and much more. To do that effectively, we organize a so-called Merkle tree (not for every above-mentioned use case) that is used to prove that the transactor knows the opening of an element. The complexity of a proof depends on how large the circuit is, that is required to compute the path of the Merkle tree. Regular cryptographic hash functions such as SHA-256 or SHA-3 require large circuits as they are not tailored to finite fields used in ZK proof systems. Poseidon is a hash function designed to minimize the size of the circuits and thus to minimize the prover and verifier complexities. We have created the first Poseidon implementation in Rust. Keep adding those geniuses  Imho this is going to be the biggest of the platforms, and it feels like no one on the crypto twitter yet shills it. Maybe they want in on the first day or they just don't know about it yet. I don't really care. I am not selling until this hits top 20. And even then it will be half of my coins. with great people in the team, I am sure DUSK will be a good project going forward, but if the team does not think of the fate of the price of the tokens in the market they will lose the community, and it must always be maintained Our community is really important to us, hence we try to engage with everyone on all of our social platforms! |

Code Release - Cryptography Module
With excitement we present our first of many public code releases.Today we are very excited to release our first Cryptography Module powering the golang reference implementation of our public Dusk Network Github. Aside from the core primitives, the module contains the implementations of compression-enabled BN-256 elliptic curve, BLS signature scheme (safe from rogue key attack), bLSAG ring signature scheme and rangeproof in Bulletproofs using Ristretto curve.
After a period of stealth development, we are finally ready to slowly migrate our private repositories to Github. As we are big believers in open-source our code is naturally released under the popular MIT license.

Corretto code release!
- Fast, efficient and bulletproof-friendly cryptographic operations! With excitement we present our first of many public code releases.The Corretto curve is an elliptic curve developed by Dusk Network based on the Ristretto scalar field. Originally designed to abstract non-prime-order curves into prime-order scalar fields, the Ristretto abstraction would have been far too inefficient to implement for Bulletproofs. Fortunately, our team had designed a brand new curve that enables Dusk Network to utilize the power of the Ristretto scalar field while not indulging in the complex and Bulletproof-unfriendly abstractions that are associated with Ristretto.
Corretto opens up new opportunities for the use cases of zero-knowledge proofs inside the Dusk Network protocol as well as making our Bulletproof-integrated ring signature substitute possible. When tokens will be trading on exchanges? As I see, mainnet launch should be in Q2. Any exact date of this (at last exact month) ?
The first testnet cli wallet be up and running within 2 weeks as per their telegram group. I think we can expect the main net anytime after that. I thought that the listing would happen be when the public testnet is ready, not with the mainnet. Our listing date is slightly postponed until our TestNet is released to the public. When providing liquidity, we'll likely have an influx of new users. We feel its best to have our code published for them to look at and validate for themselves right away. |

I heard that you are in testnet phase right now. Is there any way we can have access to that?
The TestNet can't be accessed right now. We have already put the TestNet through testing, with over 300 nodes all across the world to mimic real life scenarios. Putting the code live requires quite some more steps, e.g. we need it to be well documented so that other developers understand what is happening and can appreciate what we've build. We need to migrate to Github, and make it available for Merge requests, as well accompany it again with more documentation. It is a bit like building a house, once its there and you invite people for your housewarming, there is still quite a lot of work to do to make it presentable! The better the documentation the more constructive the feedback will be from developers who validate and check it, and thus the more actionable any suggestions for improvements will be. |
