101  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: bitcoincharts missing some exchanges (huobi, hitbtc, et al) - where now? on: August 07, 2014, 07:48:48 PM
Go here for huobi trading charts:

https://bitcoinwisdom.com/markets/huobi/btccny
thanks for the fast answer.
but this is actually not really what I am loking for.
I also found some other very greatlooking realtime chartsites, but what I really want is just some basic values (30day and 24h average price and volume).
I can´t find those things on bitcoinwisdom.

bump bump.
guys, any ideas where to get those values from now?

does anyone know where to find a btcoincharts style overview (with 30day average prices, volume, etc) which includes huobi and hitbtc (which have been dropped by bitcoincharts for some reason)?

edit:
as it seems that the most basic display of 30day and 24h averages is only found at bitcoincharts, I believe to have found found a work around with  tradingview.com and the SMMA (30) indicator - smoothed moving average that is.
This is a bit more clicks to get the data, but at least they have huobi on the radar. still looking for a solution for hitbtc...
104  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin arbitrage, pros and cons, experience and profitability on: July 27, 2014, 03:09:45 PM
All true but for the last couple of weeks, the spread between major exchanges is between 2-3%. This leaves a lot of space for arbitrage.
When you factor in trading BTC for alt currencies, the entire story becomes even more interesting. ATM it is definitely profitable.

That may be true for hi-lo extremes, but there is only so much volume you can squeeze through the exchanges at anything even close to these rates.
As every arbitrage trade couple is bound to cause a price correction the "wiggle-room" for arbitrageurs decreases with every arbitrage trade. You can adress these issues with certain trading patterns (e.g.: iceberg or hidden trades) and delay those effects but you can not stop the prices to be pulled towards another by your trading all together.

This has a direct influence on the maximum volume which can be realised in arbitrage trades, or in other words:
it puts a hard limit on the scalability.

While a few can make relevant profits on arbitrage, the profit decreases with increasing volume at work.

That is why I don´t see arbitrage as an investement vehicle to be sustainable in any way. It does not make any economic sense.
Unless you play it very risky and use 2 or more exchanges allowing you to trade on leverage and use your customers funds as security.
That is bound to blow up in your face sooner or later.

lets do it and turn the page.
106  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin arbitrage, pros and cons, experience and profitability on: July 22, 2014, 03:13:21 PM
arbitrage is something you do, not invest in.

why?
well because as soon as you factor in the current risk factors in the btc world you may consider yourself lucky or rich beforehand if you make any relevant profit from it.

If you simply ignore the possibility of exchanges unexpectedly going temporarily or permanently offline the math does work in times of higher volatility than we currently have.
Right now trading volume on usd and euro accessible exchanges is simply too low to make enough to pay employees and yourself with only the fees you can charge for using someone elses money for arbitrage.

Because in principle if people invest in you arbitraging with their funds is nothing more than a credit you take at an insane return-rate.

super short: money does not grow on trees.

Waiting for this thing to blow up anytime soon.
107  Economy / Exchanges / Re: hitBTC.com - super fast and stable BTC/LTC/USD/EUR exchange on: July 22, 2014, 02:57:37 PM
Hello hitbtc,

could you please outline how the market maker contracts work?

what does "staying within the spread" and admissible size mean exactly?

best regards.
108  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bitcoin exchange to euro and withdraw it with IBAN and Swift Code on: July 22, 2014, 01:41:21 PM
there are some exchanges out there for what you seem to be looking for:

1. kraken.com
2. bitstamp (yes it´s USD based trading, but you can withdraw at the corporate USD to EURO exchange rate (http://www.unicreditbank.si/tecajna_lista/?t=1&id_menu=&language=ENG) to any european sepa account.
3. hitbtc
4. anxbtc (if they have sorted out their sepa deposits and withdrawals again)
5. bitcurex (you already know).

apart from that you can also use bitcoin.de which is technically speaking a marketplace and not an exchange. (you are welcome to use my affiliate code: https://www.bitcoin.de/de/r/kbrt22 and make me filthy rich.)

concerning trust I would rate bitcoin.de, kraken and bitstamp at the top of what is available today.

edit:

concerning speed of withdrawals hitbtc and some buyers on bitcoin.de have been working very fast for me (<1 day).

with kraken, bitcurex, and bitstamp you should expect the money to arrive within 2-3 business days.
anxbtc I have not yet used for withdrawals.

www.austriabitcoin.at

english and german speaking  100% anonym and fast

Im sure i can help you
dude, if the name you give in the "impressum" on your webpage is your real name how should a transaction with you be anonymous?
maybe you should reconsider the legal implications of what you offer here when you publish your real name and adress (and your localbitcoins profile with close to no significant transactions?)

dont get me wrong I am not trying to piss you off, but are you really sure what you are doing?

wish you luck. a fellow austrian.

118  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 21, 2014, 10:58:02 PM
There is something that puzzles me about the nature of bitcoin followers traders here.
They are often highly invested in the value developement of the currency, but so little invested in the creation of that value they follow so closely.
Ofcourse certain announcements that retailer X or payment processor Y is now accepting bitcoin are mentioned, but actively doing something, setting up shop and evangelising with a profit seems to be done somewhere else.

(If you know where, I wouldn´t mind a pointer.)

119  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 15, 2014, 09:58:29 PM
Objectively, what are our chances of going lower?  I can throw in some fiat and buy some coins, but this is probably the last time I will be buying for 6 months or a year.  Ignoring the trolls, is there a legitimate chance of hitting $500?

DO NOT take any advice from anybody here! Don't ever ask other people here what to do with your money! I know you see all these lines and charts and mainly bears who act like they know it all but i can guarantee you that not a single person here knows where Bitcoin will go. Every bear here will tell you we will see 100% sure 500 again. That's because they're sad little creatures who do nothing but lie and manipulate because they want the price to go down.
The bulls obviously want the price to go up but will be a bit more modest and say we'll likely won't see 500 again. Either way any info you'll get is coloured and worthless.
The fact that you want to invest in Bitcoin means you believe it will be worth more in the future. If you do then you should buy. 500 or 560 is meaningless in the long run if this thing takes off. If you don't think it will take off then don't. Waiting is kinda pointless because again nobody knows what it will do.
now that is what sound advice looks like.

Some of you guys and ladies here have some very sophisticated ways of going about your trading.
I do not know any of that complicated TA (but learning...), but I sold and bought back the same handfull of coins 7 times in a row in the last 2 hours and it felt really good Smiley
