As someone with years of marketing experience working for the biggest ad agency in the world, I would suggest staying away from symbolism like a dharma wheel.
A white elephant outline is neutral, and would work much better (as a brand) than something that means different things to different people (and would cause many others to become indifferent to Karmacoin).
i.e., come up with something new. The elephant is good. Just make it outstanding and emotionally appealing.
The simpler the logo the better. If I was to design it, I would do something completely different. A blue and red logo like the old Pepsi logo but leaning towards a horizontal yin-yang and getting rid of the dots. Also, there's no need to put "Karmacoin" on the logo. (Such is the sign of an amateur.) The text can go next to it, on the right side.
This makes for a familiar symbol but still something new. Thing big picture and long term. As in, what symbol would make a 9 year-old in the Kenyan highlands smile when they see it just as well as an adult in Shoreditch?
Nevermind what you like. The question is, what would most of your potential users like?
A good logo could mean the difference between success and failure of a company (or coin). (But again, it's not what you think is good...)
its funny how you say that karmacoin should stay away from symbolism and then point to the pepsi logo (which is nothing more than a cheap knockoff of yinyang with the colors changed) as a good example.. lol yinyang is a religious symbol used in both Daoism and Confucianism.. it also represents a balance of forces (light, dark, good, evil, man, woman etc) which is at odds with the Karma coin motto of "doing good is good" lol please do not mix Karma with Dao they are completely different ideas and messagesit would be like calling your Coin the RepublicCoin and then using a Crown as your logo or having Easter coin with a picture of a Dog on it. I agree simplicity is good and I agree that the elephant should stay.. having a mascot will help the cause.. so we should keep the message simple and NOT try to confuse people by mixing symbolism and ideologies. Well aware. I used to teach Tao te Ching in China (where I live now). I was suggesting coming up with a new symbol that seems familiar rather than "symbolism like a dharma wheel". No need to be technical about the origins of the Pepsi logo or doing something similar. we're going for emotional appeal, not relating the logo to history. I always go what has worked in some way for others. (Only the world's first logo was an original) How about a black/white elephant? (An elephant head with the left side black and right side white, for example?)

Hello everyone, Coinmarket.io is doing a great job so far. We are all upset because of the GOX incident and rightly so, but don't take it out on these guys. They have been very honest with a roadmap of what they are doing. The communication could be a little better and it has improved a lot since the opening. I'd rather they keep working on the things they need to fix, than answering a hundred posts repeating the same thing.
They have allowed withdrawals and cancellation of orders while the market has been paused, so the TRUST has been there the whole time. I have some coins stuck on there too, but Im not worried. So give these guys a chance. When they are finished it will be an awesome and fast exchange.
No. They're doing a very bad job. They don't communicate for 3 days and you say they're dong a good job? It takes less than a minute to update your customers on Twitter. They're obviously too technically incompetent to run an exchange.

Their "problems" sound like complete BULLSHIT
I think something very fishy is going on here.

Time for it to start the steady rise already...
lol! true...
|
|
|
Let it rise slowly. Much better for the coin, much better for us. If it rises steadily it's much more trustworthy - and more people will join in. P'n'Ds are not what a coin needs.
This is a coin to hold. I own a few hundred million and have no plans to sell anytime in the next few months (and neither should you). Doge has shown that there is a strong market for such a coin. And Karma is going to make it happen.

As of today, 10,000 people have seen my Karma promo on http://123doge.com/. This is going to be one fabulous train ride! Doge is old news. Karma is the new Dogecoin. Wanna take a ride?
|
|
|
Get ready for lift-off!
I hope the new website will be released today. That should help things a lot.
The Karma-train is not a train to miss. It may suffice as a Doge-replacement.

Let the games begin! In 1 hour from now.
A range of 18-25 today would be interesting.

|
|
Let's take it to 25 today. What do you think?
anything is possible Then the pumpers must plunge in. I don't see any of them yet. It is better for coin, if price grows steady. They are already here. I would not be surprised to see 200btc traded on Mintpal today.

I feel a new website coming today.

but beeing patient on for example a coin transfer from pool or giveaway to wallet would be normal but by not having the exchange up we actually loose something , if we would at least know about when it will be fixed we could actually just wait , (even though markets are stuill changing) but i for example have been sitting here for ages constantly reloading the page , hoping it will be back up but it just doesnt happen , tonight ive been sleeping 2 hours instead of six cause i thought it woud be upa again within two hours , now its even more important to be one of the first people in the exchange due to moving markets
The only reason for why they do not make an announcement must be they are very busy with fixing an important problem with the exchange. It takes 30 seconds to update their twitter. NO updates in nearly 2 days. This is a BIG RED FLAG

Anyone know what is up with coinmarket.io exchange? Trading was offline for awhile and now I can't even get to the website.
"This is a untested beta version of the exchange - use it at your own risk." see their thread at https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=454186.1300Consider moving all your instruments to Mintpal. You wouldn't want to lose them, in light of what has happened to gox

Karmacoin is the Dogecoin that businesses and the general public can take seriously (if it plays its cards right)
Try explaining to customers that you now accept the online coin with the dog on it versus Karmacoin. I love Dogecoin (for what it is) but the meme can only be carried so far. But Karma can be carried into your next life!
For this reason alone I think we'll see a market cap around Dogecoin's... so up about 150x current values (or 750 satoshis) in 6-12 months.

I've got an order for about 200M at 0.00000003.. I'm just looking for some coins to add to my collection. not looking to pump and dump. I believe in Karmacoin for long-term.
So are solely responsible for 6 (of 9) BTC of buy orders at 3 Satoshis? Hm... A bit more than that but I guess.. I may cancel it in a few minutes to buy some MINT

Why don't we make March 1st through the 7th Reddcoin tipping week? We can each put in a little extra effort (and remind each other throughout the week) to tip as much as we can.
Instead of big tips to a few people, lots of little tips to different people.
