Can anyone tell me what good it does to "ignore" a user, when people keep quoting them verbatim?   Undecided

Yes, you hit the nail on the head.  I think some Mint supporters like to keep quoting the trolls because they are secretly double agent trolls.  We are infested with spies spreading disinformation.  If the double agents quote the disinformation of the trolls, does it get transformed into information?

Damn it, now I have to read 350 some odd pages all over again.

anyone else notice the quality of this thread drop right about the time it started becoming very difficult to mine? hmmmm

You must have a bad feed.  I'm only seeing rainbows, unicorns and angels in this thread.  Oh, and lots of peace, love and understanding.

You win this thread.

First thing I've ever won.  Thank you.  As much as I would like to be a modest, gracious winner....Screw it.  Parade for me tomorrow, HUGE party at my place after.  Free booze, drugs, lovely ladies who love tweakgeeks, unicorn rides, and a leprechaun at the end of the rainbow handing out fat stacks of Mint.

Mintpal transfer?

I've been waiting about an hour for a transfer from Mintpal to my wallet. Never had a problem before. Anyone else?

Unless you used the wrong address it should be there soon. Smiley

Used the same address as the previous 2 transfers. Double checked everything. Record of transaction being done and sent. But no arrival to my account : (

I did another purchase about an hour ago and it hasn't showed up either. No response from my initial support ticket from 2 hours ago either. Not a great fan of poor service. Mintpal you can do better.  Angry

This is unusual.  I've had great CS experiences there.  I'll check it out.

I usually try stay out of the forums, unless I need some help with something specific.  Lately I'm realizing that's a waste of time too. I try to focus on actual research and the forums are usually nothing more than a distraction.

However, I decided to be proactive and spend a little time here tonight in an effort to minimize future time loss.  Confused yet?  I'm also concerned because there is currently an effort to bring new users to Mint.  I was trying to think of ways to help educate new users and guide them through the process to get started using Mint.  Where could they turn if they have technical problems?  You know, things like that.  I realized that if I referred a new user to this forum, they would probably run like hell.  This goes for any coin.  If people want this to be more than a temporary fad, you have to get new users.  The crypto crowd can only feed on itself for so long.

I just would like to share some insight here.

First, I just want to say that NO ONE here can predict the future, regardless of whether you like this coin or that coin.  If you respond to a user who is trying to do that, what are you achieving?  You are simply countering an invalid argument with an invalid argument.  Not one single person in any of these forums can tell you the future of any crypto.  If they could, I wouldn't be here.  What fun would that be?

Second, I don't believe in suppressing anyone's ideas, so if you have something to say, by all means go ahead.  We can all learn new things.  But if others disagree, I don't think it's necessary to start an all out war just because we disagree.  Garbage is easy to spot here.  If you respond to garbage, you have no one but yourself to blame.

I'm guilty of unseemly behavior here too, so I'm not lecturing anyone.  I just unnecessarily blew up at someone yesterday on a forum, so I know how emotions can get in the way.  The thing is though, it was a waste of my time that I could have been using to earn money.

I've noticed a few "trolls" on this thread lately.  I define this as people with nothing to contribute who are just looking to start an argument or try and spread false information.  When you respond they achieve their goal.  I wonder what would happen if no one ever responded to them?  People using crypto aren't stupid.  If there is a post with ridiculous claims, and no responses, I think users can see through it.

Other forum users might have missed the trolls.  If you did, just pick any one of the 350 pages here and you can find one.

However, I've also noticed people with legitimate questions and valid arguments being labelled trolls.  Some people have some concerns here.  If you can help, great.  If not, let the next person try.  There's no reason to get pissed off at someone simply because they're interested in the future of the coin.  That person may bring some clarity to the situation and help everyone.

For those of you who still feel the need to post negative things about coins without having any evidence to support your claims, go ahead.  Waste all the time you want here.  At least I have my eye on you and I know you are not accomplishing anything.  Forgive me for not responding.

I'm not trying to tell the future here.  I know for certain people are working hard on Mint.  I don't blame them for not posting very often in this forum, I wouldn't either.  We all know how markets are manipulated here.  If you could control the price of a coin, would you kill it?  How the hell can you make any money off a dead coin?  As long as development continues on Mint (or any other coin), the price will fluctuate.  This is my favorite aspect of cryptos.  It's better gambling than Vegas....

WTF? The guy at the computer store who sold me a miner said the coins would just start dropping out of the DVD/ ROM player.

Really, don't you know anything?  You have to change the boot order in your bios to get coins that way.  Crypto 101, for crying outside.

So any suggestions for the best profitable currency to mine with my 1.5 MHS rig? I really want to get more into mint but it's too hard to mine so I'm looking for something to mine to sell for mint.

Join a multi-pool. https://coinex.pw, or something like that.

Good idea, or you could just buy some if you have any btc.  I try and mine coins that I can hold for a nice profit.  If you don't have btc but have an exchange you like, then find another coin listed on the same exchange that is relatively stable and just mine that.  It will be easier to exchange for Mint with less transaction fees.

I was also kinda serious in my earlier posts about mining crappy coins.  Most of the coins that I declined because I thought they were stupid, have turned out to be relatively profitable in the short term.  Prime examples-Doge and Cat.  Need I say more.

One other thing.  Don't listen to any advice from people in alt coin forums.  They are all nuts.  Except me of course.  I'm only insane.

I remember this coin the first time, when it was called Premine PMC.  Grin

I thought it was Coin?  Why didn't they call it PMC2?  I'm as confused as a one legged cat trying the bury shit on a frozen pond.  Thanks.

Dont cry cos you dont have these, just see the price blow up on nxt-e and keep calm hahaha

wtf are you talking about?  You aint makin no goddamn sense boy.

All day long I've been dealing with people who don't know shit from shinola being condescending.  It really shows your ignorance.  I have plenty of these coins, nothing going on here, so I might as well joke around.

I know you have a crystal ball and everything, but are you really a fanboy of any of these coins?  Including btc.  Try to get your thong out of a wad, smoke some weed, eat some xanax, get laid, and just generally try and chillaxe, yo.  You are taking this shit way too seriously.

We need to create a Cartel of 1000 first wallet Smiley

And coordonate our effort.

Do I get a gun if I sign up?  I would make an excellent thumb breaker also.

WTB outside market, if someone want to sell, pm me and with a real price per wallet

selling 10k for 0.5 btc

Are you willing to negotiate?  I will give you 1 btc for 5k c2.

Seriously though, what shall we do with these coins?  They wouldn't take them at the bar tonight, so I had to have my date pay.  Same end result for me I guess (free booze), so maybe this is worth toying with.  By someone else.  I'm way too lazy and drunk most of the time, so I'm probably not the best point man for this coin.

I guess you were too late. I told a few friends and they all got the coins.

I got my coins, I had a wallet, I requested them through facebook..... can't say fairer than that.

+1.  Yeah, FB blows, but it is what it is.  I got mine.  Don't call people liars if you are not 100% for certain.  It's called libel and you could be sued for every last crapcoin on earth.  Just sayin...

so guys since mining mint isn't the best idea, I'm still buying mint but whats a profitable coin to mine, I tried to do zeitcoin since it's launch yesterday but that was kinda a fail. Any suggestions? I'm looking to mine something and sell for mint.

What kind of hash power do you have?

I guess it doesn't really matter.  Just pick the stupidest most non-marketable coin with the biggest premine that you can find and mine it like crazy.  If I had done this I'd be a millionaire by now.

I would like to apologize for my behavior earlier today in response to deadmanwalking's reply to my post.  I also want to personally apologize to deadmanwalking for the insults I directed at him.  It was rude and there is no excuse for my behavior.  It doesn't help Mint and it doesn't help other users of the forum.

How do you know if your mint wallet is open for PoS or not?

I'm not an expert, but it just automatically started happening yesterday when I opened my wallet.   I thought it was too early for minting, so I was trying to figure out where the coins were coming from.  Anyway, if you have 20 day old coins, it's my understanding that the process is automatic.

I'm the pain in the ass that's been trying to figure out the lag time problem with my Mint wallet.  I finally got it to work correctly with no lag.  If anyone else is having the same problem, I hope this helps.

I did a clean install of Mint wallet version 1.4 from the OP.

I DID NOT use the conf file in the OP, my conf file from version 1.1, or any conf file at all.

I just downloaded the wallet, opened it, and it started syncing with 12 active connections.  No lag now.  It works perfect.

I have no idea why.  I'm guessing there was a conflict of some sort with the conf file.  It worked fine with 1.1.

I hope I haven't ruffled too many feathers.  Maybe this will save some others some time.
Added to the wishlist http://www.mintcointalk.com/index.php?topic=263.msg773#msg773, so that the problem doesn't happen for others. I also posted it on mintcointalk.com http://www.mintcointalk.com/index.php?topic=268

Thanks.  I think if new users don't have to bother with creating the conf file, they will embrace the technology faster.  I find the conf file setup is the worst part for people I recruit to use Mint.  A LOT of people have no idea how to do it, and seem anxious with trying to do it.  I usually just do it for them.  The simpler it is, the more people will embrace it.

I probably have 50 different wallets.  I've been mining since 2011.  I spent the whole day trying to fix my own wallet, just because of a minor, stupid oversight on my part.  A lot of potential new users would have given up.  Again, the simpler the better.

EDIT:  I should point out that a clean install is not necessary.  I removed the conf file from the pc with my original wallet version 1.1 with 1.4 upgrade.  I restarted the wallet and it works fine now.  The clean install was on another pc I used for testing.
