101  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BITMAIN REFUSE TO REPAIR FAULTY S9 - DOA on: August 06, 2016, 01:21:58 PM
I have been lucky only to have to ship back one dead board on an S7.  Which they promptly lost never to be seen again.
But yes, if you get a bad miner, you just lost your money.  Because they don't backup their product or take into account how their failure effects their customers.  If there was another game in town, I'd treat them the same way they have treated me.  Zero loyalty.

I might try to take them to court over consumer rights - Hong Kong.
Surely it is illegal to send faulty goods and then refuse to repair or replace them?
102  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BITMAIN REFUSE TO REPAIR FAULTY S9 - DOA on: August 06, 2016, 01:20:59 PM
It needs a lot of patience  with Bitmain.

one of my S9 B1 board was dead . D.O.A.

Miner Delivered to me June 16, 2016

I'll get the blade  back august 1, 2016

So that only 45 days  and I paid for 5  miners   19.862 BTC shipped + 20% VAT

It is over 4 BTC for half D.O.A. miner with 9,2 Ths.

Now they are saying that I broke it when sending it back to them for repair!!!!! C**NTS

Yes it seems the Warranty is just fake.

Here is the (laughable if I hadn't lost so much money) current ongoing conversation with the Bitmain Support:

Andy NIU (Bitmain)

Aug 6, 14:19 CST

Dear will,

After reconfirming, this hashboard PIN is lost which is caused by the logistics.

Please kindly find the hashboard picture for your reference.

Please let us know if you have additional questions or concerns.

MY REPLY: "You sent me a faulty Miner. Please fix or refund me.

Thanks"

Dear will,

Sorry about the inconvience caused!

Warranty will cover the repair if the hashing is low or software problem.

While this hash board was damaged in the logistics and the PIN was lost as a result it can not be fixed any more.

"After reconfirming, this hashboard PIN is lost which is caused by the logistics. "

Please let us know if you have additional questions or concerns.

Dear will,

The problem is not we do not repair but the hashboard can not be fixed anymore because of that two of chips were falled down and the PIN on the board were damaged in the way of returning.

Please check the picture attached.

Please let us know if you have additional questions or concerns.

Best regards,
Andy

So now they are claiming that it got damaged when I sent it back to them - so they wont repair it!!!!!!
It was broken anyway.

What a bunch of piss-taking assh**les !

warning to anyone considering buying an S9 or any miner from Bitmain.
They might send you a broken machine and then refuse to repair or replace  it.
That's what they have just done to me.

I have spent over $14,000 USD with them and they treat me like a piece of dog sh*te they scraped off their shoe.

Well F**K You Bitmain. Thanks for nothing.
105  Economy / Service Discussion / BITMAIN REFUSE TO REPAIR FAULTY S9 - DOA on: August 05, 2016, 10:28:12 PM
please see my other post for full details about Bitmain's con tricks:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1493601.msg15833273#msg15833273

In summary:

I bought 2 S9's - one of them broke within 2 hours of being switched on.
Bitmain refuse to repair it.
I am suing them.

I WARN ANYONE NOT TO BUY ANYTHING FROM THESE CON ARTISTS

here is there email to me:

I have 5 Antminers, 4 S'7's and 1 other S9 all running in the exact same environment. same temps - same power system etc.
This one S9 had a faulty hashing board within 2 hours - Bitmain refuse to fix it.

CONCLUSION - Stay away from Bitmain.

I have spent over $14,000 USD with these scumbags and now they SH*T on me like this !!! Unbelievable.

I am going to sue them through my very powerful lawyers in Hong Kong that will surely cost them a lot. I don't care how much it costs me - I just want to waste as much of their time as possible.
I will keep you all posted as to what happens.
106  Bitcoin / Hardware / WARNING: Bitmain shipping faulty S9's - then refuse to repair them on: August 05, 2016, 10:19:33 PM

*** UPDATE - after weeks of threatening to sue them they finally agreed to replace the boards ******
anyway you can still read my rants showing hw annoying they where to deal with...

Hi.

I bought 2 of Bitmain's Antminer S9's - the 2nd batch. 12.93 GH/s

I plugged both of them in at the same time  - in the same room.
They both started up and seemed to be running ok for  a few hours.
The temperatures were around 65 degrees C.
Then I noticed that on one of the S9's, one of the hashingboards was reading 0 GH/s
So i restarted it - and then the board was no longer listed on the Status Page.

This was day 1 - within a few hours of being plugged in.

Now bear in mind that I have also had 5, Antminer S7's also running in the same room + the other S9 - ALL WORKING PERFECTLY.
No heat problem, no electrical problem.

Ok, so I tell Bitmain what happened and they tell me to send back the hashing board - then I get this response:

EXCUSE ME?

So I just paid $1800 USD for a broken machine and you tell me that "because it's repairable" that is somehow my fault?!
Are you F**king kidding me?

Then they refer me to the warranty:

"3. In some cases, the warranty will be void, but Bitmain can still do repairs at your own expense if requested. The following events will void the warranty:

     a. Customer removes/replaces any components by himself without receiving permission from Bitmain first;

     b. Damage caused by poor power supply, lightning or voltage surges;

     c. Burnt parts on hash boards or chips;

     d. Miner/boards/components damage due to water immersion or corrosion due to wet environment."

Ok, let's see..

(a) does not apply - they told me to remove the hashing board and send it to them'
(b) does not apply - I have 5 other Antminers all running on the same power supply - same room - same temperatures. THEY ALL WORK.
(c) I didn't see any sign of burining on the board - if there is I assume it's because there is something wrong with it.
(d) does not apply

So basically they are trying to screw me.
I am probably going to have to sure them, luckily I have a very good lawyer in Hong Kong. So I will let you know what happens.

But anyway - I personally WILL NEVER BUY ANYTHING from these con artists ever again and I seriously WARN anyone against giving these people any of your money - as they are not willing to replace faulty goods.

My Antminer S9 was faulty within a few hours of starting up.
How any serious business can pretend that that doesn't fall under warranty is beyond my comprehension - only a total asshole thieving lying scumbag would refuse a repair in such a situation.

So BITMAIN you can go and F**K YOURSELF. GOODBYE.

And also - it should show you the calculated fee BEFORE you click SEND.
108  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: 'Send as zero-fee transaction if possible' is misleading and illogical on: February 19, 2016, 11:40:34 AM
You can always send with zero fee but you might end up waiting days for a transaction or even have your transaction dropped.

If you don't want to pay a fee you should check current network usage.

yeah I know... my point is they should change the options because they are very confusing and illogical.
I am a software designer and anyone who knows anything about Interaction Design, should understand that this is a bad design.
109  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / 'Send as zero-fee transaction if possible' is misleading and illogical on: February 19, 2016, 11:11:44 AM
I recently sent a transaction using Bitcoin Core 0.11.1

I checked the Recommended fee selection button, but I also ticked the box underneath that says "Send as zero-fee transaction if possible"

BOTH these options are now selected.

This is how my brain interprets what I chose....
'Send the transaction with the recommended fee... OR if somehow possible, send it with no fee - whichever WORKS best.'

Unfortunately I found out it doesn't mean that at all! - The transaction simply gets sent with no fee!

This is illogical and misleading - It is an either-or option, you shouldn't be able to select BOTH of these options at once!

If you select the "Send as zero-fee" - then the other 'Recommended' fee option should be unchecked right!

On top of that - what does that even mean... 'if possible' ?

Personally I think this should be changed as it is very confusing.

It should have 3 options... Recommended, Custom OR zero.
But then again - why even have the zero option as it basically doesn't work anyway.

At least fix the logic error there - it doesn't make sense.
110  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Antminer S7 stops mining - has steady green light on: November 22, 2015, 07:53:30 PM
Thanks for the reply...

So are you sure the beeping is ONLY for fans & heat ?
They seem to beep when my internet goes down too.

As for the cables, they are all brand new, same length cat6

Anyway - why would the miner become unreachable over the LAN? It's like it has crashed.

[ i will try what you suggested about switching a cable over after it crashes - but i'll have to wait until it happens again - but it seems more like it has crashed, i'm considering updating the firmware but worried i might mess it up]

i can't believe they removed the option to turn off the beeps from the S5 software ?!!! whY?

111  Bitcoin / Mining support / Antminer S7 stops mining - has steady green light on: November 22, 2015, 07:15:58 PM
I have 5 S7's and they all seem to working fine, but occasionally one will just stop hashing and become un-reachable on the Network.

When this happens it will have a steady green light.

Could this be caused by my network connection? If so, how can I fix this? It doesn't seem right that a dropout of the network should cause the miner to just stop completely.

My internet is just ADSL and does drop out quite a lot, so I am guessing this has something to do with it - but then why would only 1 miner stop and the others still working?

Any ideas?

Also the beeping is driving me insane. Every time there is a small dropout of my internet they all start beeping.
There is no way to turn it off  in the 'Miner Configuration' as there apparently was on the S5 - which is really weird.

I already tried to glue-gun one of the miner's beeper - which was a real hassle (had to take the whole control board apart) - surely there is a scrypting way to disable it?

Any help on either of these 2 issues would be awesome. Thanks !

113  Economy / Economics / Re: Is 1 bitcoin a decent and good investment? on: September 01, 2014, 08:01:38 AM
my uncle said that 1 bitcoin is all he could afford right now..i could not assure him if it is really a decent and good one...

i said him i will get back to you after i ask this in the forums..

so what is your opinion?

Invest 10% of what you could happily lose. If you really believe it's a good investment.
114  Economy / Speculation / Re: thinking about buying 5k in bitcoin on: May 18, 2014, 03:09:39 PM
the levelling out of the BTC price right now around $450 is exactly what i predicted and in a few months it will go exponential again.
Now is definitely the time to buy. Maybe  it will go down a bit to $350 but not much less.
After hitting an all time high of $10,000 next year after a big sell off it will probably level off at over $2000 so then we will be in the new era of mBTC prices. As long as the price doesn't sink below 1$ per mBTC for a good few months that is.
Then it'll be a whole new thing.

(sorry did I mention I have a psychic time machine?)

either get a lawyer and file a claim (if you have enough money) or....

forget about it.

I have nothing to say just stunned silence that this was the codebase used to process millions of dollars and BTC everyday.

emptygox.com > kraken.com
goxxed.com > kraken.com
goxed.com > kraken.com
mtgoz.com > kraken.com
mtgoxx.com > kraken.com

mountgox.com > localbitcoins.com

montgox.com > sealswithclubs.eu

What do the community think of this. It's not criminal, but I think it's a bit sneaky. I would never do this to a competing site of mine. And to they really get in more customers like that?

If I entered mtgoxx.com and came to kraken.com I would be very suspicious..

Now that mtgox is pretty much dead, this is kind of a moot point, but in general do you think this is ok?

Might such actions be pointing to the fact that they might be slacking corners/doing unethical stuff in other parts of their business as well?

Is it a red flag?

It is dumb and totally pointless SEO

119  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Support a Bailout for (MT)Gox.com on: March 03, 2014, 09:36:08 AM
What do you say, we show some support for a Bailout in the case of MTGox?
I think it will be the best thing for Bitcoin as we are in the transition stage from "innovative tech" to "regulated and trusted main stream innovative tech"...
In order to make this transition we need support from the community and the world.

Of course, on top of that... people (like me) who have funds @ MTGox would like to get access to those funds asap.

Let's get this thread a lot of positive support for a bailout for MTGox!

It is not the time to be cynical. It is not the time to say "told you". This is the time to help.

What do you say? help and show support for the Bitcoin ecosystem, Bitcoin holders and traders who spent money, time and effort supporting this business and also the public image? Everyone who traded on MTGox probably talked about Bitcoin a lot with friends, family and others helping the ecosystem and we are talking about A LOT OF PEOPLE.
If this works out, then the Bitcoin community will be stronger than ever and also, don't worry about the bail-outer/s, they will get their Bitcoin value increased, self recognition for knowing they did the right thing and also, a lot of commissions and future funds.

So please, for all the right reasons, show support for a bailout in this case!

I think this is a true test for Bitcoin and the community.

Where do I send the money?
Maybe you can post a wallet address and we'll send money to it, and you can pass it on to Mark. LOL!!!!
