101  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: SRBPolaris V2.62 - BIOS editor for RX4XX and RX5XX cards on: June 11, 2017, 11:38:29 AM
@doktor83

The bios Voltage modifications (vddc) work correctly on Windows 7.  But when using the same cards on Windows 10, there is a big mismatch between the bios voltage (831mv) and the gpu-z reading (990mv).

Is there any other way to setup the bios voltage so that it works in Windows 10 (and linux) ?

Only the proper way.

okay?

Meaning VoltageObjectInfo, with an offset.

Hex editing? Just like the hawaii and grenada?  I did tons of that on my 290x back in the day.

Anything different 290x > 570  I should know about?   I'm reading I can only alter the offset...

Different controllers, different offsets Smiley

https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/2017-March-NEW-PANDA-Miner-B3_60663033668.html

They say they'll ship to the USA (for like $150~ fee)

they take bitcoin, bank transfer and western union...
Whats my protection on something like that? All three of those seem to be pretty non-reversal and I dont want to get screwed on $3K USD.

They probably don't have stock, neither do any of the other sellers, AMD chips are very very scarce lately.

Supply Ability:
1000 Piece/Pieces per Week

Yeah right :p That's why Pandaminer has been having serious issues getting units to their customers..

They're using pictures from Pandaminer, which is another seller.
They might have bought a big batch from Pandaminer and are now selling it for a lot more but i doubt it, makes more sense to just mine yourself.

So i wouldn't jump on this if i was you. But it's up to you though..

Greetings

Here's a screenshot of a client of mine using my OS.

18 days..

Would have been longer if he didn't have a power issue..

 Wink

Here's my nano rig.
Still feel bad for selling 95% of them :p

Those bioses of mr.anoraks are called powersave because he lowered core clock ? Cheesy
OR what is the secret, anyone knows?

Just copied the core clock into the dpm1 stage and all the way up.

It saves power though. Is it ideal? Nah.. Wink
105  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Announcing Pandaminer OS on: May 31, 2017, 09:44:50 PM
What are the future plans of this OS as of 6/17

Lots of idea's, not much time Smiley

I'll update this thread in the upcoming weeks.
106  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Nvidia to release mining-only GPU? on: May 31, 2017, 09:41:17 PM
Think about it from a competition perspective... What cards are currently sold out everywhere? 1080Ti's? No. 1080's. No. 1070's? Nope. 1060's? Niet, nope, non.

AMD Rx 570's and 580's.
Because they're miner cards.

If they want to bury AMD they have to fight them where they have most to lose.

A dedicated mining GPU from nVidia would hurt AMD massively.

You'd be surprised how many nvidia cards are already being sold/bought for mining purposes.

RX cards, they're not mining cards, they're gaming cards, we miners just use them.

They don't want to bury AMD, you'd be surprised how much respect they have for each other, they're still competitors though, true, but none the less, they respect each other.

It would cut into the profits of AMD, but it'll be ok.

Every AMD gpu out there that has been sold already and is actively mining right now, imagine a time when mining is a lost cause... they'd all end up on the second hand market, that, my friend, that would hurt AMD A LOT more.

So to speak of it, this has happened before... not that long ago...
107  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum Mining GPU Performance Roundup on: May 30, 2017, 07:50:07 AM
Very nice article and definitely interesting for future and existing miners.

However.

In days like these, with tools like ours and your results obviously based on stock out of the box gpu's (which is ok..), it's probably not a bad idea to mention the possibilities...

Knowing that a single 480 8G can easily get more than 32Mh --> Example, consume about the same as out of the box
and a 470 4G can easily go over 31Mh --> Example, while consuming even less than out of the box.

Perhaps something to mention Smiley

Computex Taipei

Wtf, they are at computex showing off it's 13 PCIE potential, yet they don't fill up the PCIE slots? Someone needs to get fired...

Windows driver doesn't support more than 8 AMD, although they could probably have used 5 NV + 8 AMD

One can modify these Wink

Care to explain why your average readings are close to "usual" 470 values of 26.xx?
Also HW?

If you look in the top right corner, you'll see that it was only running for 2 minutes, the avarage speeds were only at 26+..

The HW errors is absolutely normal. Nothing wrong there.

I seriously cant tell right now if you are trolling or not Cheesy
Anyway I guess this could be confirmed only by pool side reported hashrate, those HW look fishy to me.

That's exactly what i mean....

95% of everyone that's mining these days are using Claymore's miners. 99% of them have never used alternative software.
So basically having no idea how other miners work/report, etc..

Those HW errors are perfectly normal.

I'll show you an example of the log.

Code:
[09:17:05] New block: 000000002edf3fd227c9b8c651df9e4a181bbb31c7db6a6b12889c414f5376f6... diff 0
[09:17:05] Work update message received
[09:17:06] Submitting share 7c3515f1 to Pool
[09:17:06] Accepted 48469135 Diff 7.07G/4G GPU 1 at Pool

[09:17:10] [THR0] GPU0: invalid nonce - HW error

So GPU0 had an invalid nonce which resulted into a HW error.
It's not that the GPU is having real Hardware issues, it's just a wrongly submitted share.

Pool side avarage is 246Mh at this moment.

I have used Claymore before and the avarage pool hashrate is in no way even close to the reported hashrate. Hell, even the current hashrate is almost always a lot lower. (of course it is, fee..)

Look, this is a personal thing, i prefer to use alternative software that is faster and in my opinion more stable.
Whatever you choose is up to you.

And no, i'm not trolling.

@ Wolf0
Would not it be possible to improve eth?
Have some pool that are not connecting
About ZCash
What defines its performance because NVIDIA is much better than AMD in that currency?

Eth miner can be improved past Claymore's AMD GCN ASM Ethash kernel. First, you need to make the damn thing stable, though - he seemed to see others using ASM, and decided to himself... but raw speed matters little if the GPUs/rigs keep dropping like flies. THEN focus on speed.

Whats not stable about CM miner?
You mean it should work better on OCed (pushed to the edge) rigs?
Asking, cause I dont have any problems on my hardware, but I am running mods + underclock + undervolt.

Can second that. Obsessed with efficiency, I run all my cards, even Nitro+ versions, at ~ 26.5 mh/s and they have been rock stable for months across several versions of claymores.

Been running my 470 4G's at 31.5Mh NOT using claymore and it's been stable as a rock for a few weeks.
And guess what. No fee Wink

Same for my Nitro 480's, 32Mh rocksolid.

The thing is, Claymore made it so that my grandma can turn on a computer and start mining. Damn good business model, gotta give him that. And to be clear, nothing wrong with that!
But comon, where's the fun in that?

Yeah Sgminer is a bit more complex, you need to do some things yourself, but if you know what and how, you can top claymore's (reported) speed and then some.

Again, what Claymore has done, is made mining simple for everyone and turned himself into a millionair while doing that. Kudo's to him.

What i do dislike is the fact that a lot of "his" idea's aren't really his idea's. Exactly what Wolf is trying to point out.

Anyhow, enjoy while it lasts.

113  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Review of Panda Miner coming up. on: May 22, 2017, 12:31:05 PM
of course bad cables would cause a melt down.  If they are too thin to handle the amps.  But an improper connection as in loose on the pins would cause the same thing.  I bought extra plugs to combat this lol.

well the 2 split cable are pulling more juice on less wire.

and if the pins are flawed in the least  it is a double stress test on 2 cables and 4 sets of pins.

So look for more of it to happen  as the summer heats up.

Or you:

1. Do NOT dual mine
2. Use a decent rom so the gpu's don't require a shitton of power Wink

No issues whatsoever so far.
114  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Conclusion JUST don't buy Sapphire RX580 with Hynix on: May 20, 2017, 12:15:51 PM
Yeah definitely don't buy the Sapphire rx580's with Hynix, they're terrible cards with terrible hash rates, since they're the newest in the rx series they also have terrible resale value, the fans are terrible too and can't even keep the cards below 75deg celsius. Don't buy these, get some old (second hand) rx480s for double the price!

Sapphire Rx580 Pulse 8gb Hynix

Proof:

You expect that gpu to run at 50 degrees when dual mining?

You're stressing it like a madman, it's like you running up a hill while carrying 2 bags of cement.

115  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Conclusion JUST don't buy Sapphire RX580 with Hynix on: May 20, 2017, 07:30:36 AM
Out of experience, 4G Hynix can go to 31-32 without any issues.

My PandaminerB3 has 470 4G Hynix and all of those cards are running at 31.5Mh for weeks now. (250Mh+)

8G Hynix is a different story. It also has an extra 2250Mh strap.

This one is indeed a bit more difficult to fine tune.

But i have this one over 30Mh as well.

It can all be done, just be sweet to it, caring and when you're in the mood, a good lullaby can do miracles too!  Cheesy
Nah, seriously, 8G Hynix can do 30+ easily as well.

116  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Custom RAM Timings for GPU's with GDDR5 - DOWNLOAD LINKS - UPDATED on: May 18, 2017, 10:44:49 AM
So, 30.2 is not enough?

Mine go to 32 - but the hashrate wouldn't be my concern with an Anorak VBIOS. My concern would be the fact that his "power saving" shit does NOTHING on linux.

Maybe it can go 32 but you wouldn't be killing it on those mhz in 24h mining, wouldn't you?

Shit, I've gotten my XFX ref 480 above 33MH/s (but I didn't run it for more than a few hours - too much power use to be worth it 24/7.)

So... yeah, it can do 32, and rock solid stable, 24/7.

My 480 Nitro's have been running 32.5Mh for weeks :p can get them easily over 33 but power will rise significantly as well. So makes no sense.

My hynix 470 4G's are doing rock solid 31.5Mh on linux and 32 on winblows Smiley

It's all about stability and finding a decent power/hash ratio.

Roms like those from Anorak and a few others are plain and simple PBE edits without knowing what exactly they're doing.
It's nice and all for the community, don't get me wrong, but don't complain when it breaks your card :p

117  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Panda B3+ Review ! on: May 16, 2017, 08:10:06 AM
and Eliovp has his.  It's been forever though the second and third batch should of been delivered.

How are the running mate? No problems with them so far?
Happy with them overall?

I'm in Texas, so heat is a factor for these 3 fan units.  You all should be getting 5 fan ones and that should be hella better in the air flow department.  It was 90F yesterday and they went from 238 to about 190-200 because they were burning up.  HOPEFULLY you all get the 5 fan models.  I'll post a picture of that when I get home from out of town of those.  I have one of those as well.

250Mh+ Stable as a rock Smiley

Or i would say maybe even less than 25%.
So far i only seen vddc offset added to some sapphire and powercolor cards, and i opened 'bout 40-50 polaris roms.

It is probably a lot less than 25% 'by card count'.
Statistics from techpowerup.com collection is more like 'by card model'.

Definitely a lot less than 25% Smiley

And then there's those that won't even take it Wink ..

@Apneal can you post a link to the Uber-mix v2.3 please, i dont understand, it is a app? i want to custom my timings
