By the way, vedalken254 is supplying the server to run p2pmining.com

Big thanks to him.

Cheesy

Thanks for that introduction to everyone. Smiley

Just throwing this out here but I do accept donations for server costs. I wish my server was free but alas, it's not. Oh well. At least the host is good. Cheesy
Address specifically for donations for Server Expenses: 142dCmsdPZBULoCDYuQfozFPR5JoeZR6iP

NOTE: Me getting donations will have NO IMPACT on p2pmining.com's operation. I will continue to operate it regardless of donations received. Sure, donations would be nice however they aren't by any means required because they are donations. I know this message is kinda redundant but oh well.

Again, I look forward to helping you all with server-side issues. Cheesy

EDIT: For those of you who are behind strict filtering firewalls and would like to try to mine litecoins, Please try and point your miner program at http://p2pmining.com:8080/.... If you can connect or can't connect, PLEASE Quote me in this thread. I just set up a redirect from 8080 on the VPS to 9327. If 8080 doesn't work, I'll need to figure out a port that will work. Also, once the bitcoin/Merged Mining part of the pool is ready, those of you behind said firewalls should try http://p2pmining.com:8081/ for BTC/Merged Mining.

Thanks again guys,
Veddy

Will the block finding bonus be shared to the pool members? I don't remember if that was ever asked.

Krak,

I'm honestly not sure since I didn't write the p2pmining.com software but I would assume so. That's prolly a better question for JayCoin to answer but I would think that it would distribute the finding bonus by share % on the pool. If you have 4.2GH/s that makes up 5% of p2pmining.com (example here), you would get 5% of the find bonus. But again, this is just my speculation and not a definitive answer.

Yo guys! If you guys need anything server-wise (connectivity issues or anything like that) once the start date has passed, let me or JayCoin know via PM. I get emails when I get a PM here so i should respond within the hour unless i'm asleep. I look forward to working with you all!

105  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [400GH/s] p2pool: Decentralized, DoS-resistant, Hop-Proof pool on: August 13, 2012, 11:44:17 AM
We have new records there:
Pool rate: 546GH/s Share difficulty: 1230
I have not found any share last 24hrs :/ Payout drop to 0.000 Sad
Time for me to switch to LTC. I wish we have p2pminig back...

I will release the code for p2pmining at the end of the month (as soon as I go down to Chicago to get my backup) if anyone wants to implement it. If someone wants to donate a server, I could set it up. If you just wanted to do bitcoin and namecoin merged mning, a VPS would work.

Jaycoin: Atm i've got a p2pool node running on my VPS (way overspec'd for the job anyways with 2GB ram, 2.5TB bandwidth and 4 cores at 3.2GHz(?)). Any specific OS you'd need to be able to set it up?

On a side note: WHO IN THE HELL MADE SO MANY FRIGGIN BLOCKS HAPPEN OVERNIGHT?!

I know eleuthria was at one point working on a BTC financing processor backend (like PayPal is for Fiat Currencies) but i dunno how far he got with that. Sad

Would instawallet be recommended as a temporary wallet?

I personally use BlockChain.info/wallet for my temp wallet. It allows you to take the RPC interface of the Bitcoin client and download your private keys from an existing temp wallet into it. Only downside is if you forget your alias or identifier or (even worse) your password to it. BlockChain doesn't store your password so if you lose it, you're screwed. But hopefully you wouldn't forget it!

I personally don't like LastPass but that's because i've had bad issues with it such as it screwing up when i had the drive itself fully encrypted via TrueCrypt.

God... Been a member here for so long yet haven't posted anything! >.<... Anyways, I'm vedalken254 (you can call me Veddy) and I usually try to keep myself occupied with Video Games... Alas, bitcoin mining and RL have kind of put a damper on that but oh well. RL Funds are down and so i bitcoin mine with my single XFX 5870. But that's me... Hopefully I don't scare too many people off... I tend to be very curious and also a questioning type person. (Isn't that what curious is? XD)

Anyways, I suppose i should get back to satoshiDICE now...
