101  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin is money, everything else is credit. on: July 12, 2017, 05:05:28 PM
Nothing gets on my nerves more than hearing "Bitcoin is an investment".

Bitcoin is not an investment, Bitcoin is money. In fact, everything other than gold and Bitcoin is simply credit.

Money is supposed to enrich, not impoverish; yet, inflationary credit (fiat) has done nothing but robbed the saver, the worker, and the retiree of his/her purchasing power while enriching Wall Street and asset holders.

Bitcoin, unlike credit, is not inflationary, but deflationary. The price of Bitcoin doesn't rise, the cost of goods relative to Bitcoin falls.

As long as our monetary system is not rooted in private property ethic, that is, banks are allowed to lend "money" they do not have (conjured from thin air), the economic boom and bust cycle will only continue to grow in severity.

Anyone who has read either Ludwig Von Mises or Rothbard's work is familiar with the concept (for more on why Bitcoin is money, and everything else is credit, I highly recommend What has government done to our money? by Rothbard, available here for free: https://mises.org/library/what-has-government-done-our-money).

People aren't investing in Bitcoin persay, but rather, riding off the enriching effects of price deflation, which has existed in the US before the creation of the Federal Reserve.

Bitcoin has all the properties of money, and in my humble opinion, is a better monetary unit than gold.

Thoughts? What do you see Bitcoin as?

Tzadik

You can call bitcoin money, which is not wrong, but you can also call bitcoin an investment, it's like a stock, its value is constantly changing, the use of bitcoin is the same. Like investments and stocks, you always face risks.
102  Economy / Economics / Re: How can we push the actual use of Bitcoin ? on: July 12, 2017, 05:02:03 PM
I and many others just hold their bitcoins and wait till it gets worth more. But that is not how a currency should work. A currency is meant to be used in daily trades for groceries and so on.

My question is how can we push the actual use of the bitcoin and what is nessacary to do that ?

I think first, we should wait till the scaling problem is hopefully solved in near future, because right now even if I had f.e. a grocery store, I would not accept Bitcoin as payment becasue of the confirmation time of the tx (I would hand out some coupons which can be bought for BTC)

After this problem is solved this would be my ideas, I hope you help me gather more:

  • Convince organisations like amnesty international to accept bitcoin as donations
  • Convince big internet companies like amazon to accept payments via bitcoin, this should take a while but with some petitions they might consider it (propably better starting with some smaller companies)
  • Start accepting bitcoins yourself, not only on the interent but for example if you are a student and do some private tutoring, and have a small ad for you on a blackboard somewhere, you could print a "Bitcoin accepted" on it.

It is not easy for us to promote the development of bitcoin, look at its history, it took 8 years to be recognized by some nations, and during those eight years it has struggled. Continuously, government is the most important factor to promote the development of bitcoin.
103  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many people are asking you about Bitcoin now? on: July 12, 2017, 05:00:10 PM

104  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do males make up 97% of the Bitcoin community? on: July 12, 2017, 04:58:36 PM
According to the website https://coin.dance/stats males make up 97% of the Bitcoin community. Why is the Bitcoin community dominated by guys?

I'm not really surprised by this information, because I myself knew about it before, unlike us, women do not like to explore and learn, they are not creative, they always follow the mold, so, they do not know about bitcoin.

106  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So Bitcoin is better than Gold? on: July 06, 2017, 04:07:41 PM
I think we should not compare bitcoin and gold, because they have no in common, their nature is different, and they have their own value. Only idiots talk about this.
107  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is it too late to buy bitcoin? on: July 06, 2017, 04:05:44 PM
Even the blind can see that crypto Currency is making people millionaires all  over the world just because they present the holders of such currency with the financial freedom and opportunity to accrue large amounts of wealth base on currency investment . But my question is that, is it late to buy bitcoin? Should i wait maybe bitcoin price will decline after 1st August meeting? Please i will welcome your advice so that I can make my decision on crypto currency investment.

I think it's never too late to own a bitcoin. The investment in bitcoin is a smart choice, although the future of bitcoin will be decided on August 1, 2017. However, everything is very positive.
108  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Scaling issues on: July 06, 2017, 04:03:47 PM
Honestly, the scaling issues are confusing to me as well. I have been involved with Bitcoin for years (since 2013) and still have no idea how any of that stuff works. Leave it up to the devs.

You have to learn it yourself, the knowledge and experience will help you give the most accurate ratio, your success is yours.
109  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is Based on People's Faith on: July 06, 2017, 03:53:52 PM
I was researching and reading a certain Whitepaper from a good token project and this statement really struck my thinking:

"With no government or “anchor” backing up cryptocurrencies, the only foundation that cryptocurrencies have is people’s faith in their value. In other words, solely the market mechanism determines the price of cryptocurrencies. At my time of writing, that faith is worth is over $2000 per Bitcoin and this doesn’t spur from the Bitcoin’s intrinsic value, but from what it allow users to do."

In this case, what will happen when that same trust from Bitcoin holders can be diminished or for heaven's sake be gone...would that be the end of Bitcoin?

This also  lead me to the question: is Bitcoin really a store of value or more of a medium where our trust is plastered on?

Yes, your statement is very accurate, the value of a currency depends on the market demand, in other words, the government does not directly affect its value. The trust of people in a new currency is the decisive factor.
110  Economy / Services / Re: Earn 40$ for this job on: July 04, 2017, 06:05:03 PM
I can pay someone 0.02 BTC to copy something to a place many times, contact me in PM.

Does this guy make any payments? This is obviously a fake account, I'm sure it was created to deceive others, so, the negative trust are worthy.
111  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is the current price drop considered a normal phenomenon? on: July 04, 2017, 06:01:11 PM
Not only in Bitcoin and Ethereum, but at least 90% of the cryptos prices are going down at this moment.  Many Youtubers said that this is normal in the cryptos space, are they correct?  I am not in this market long enough to understand this.   Huh

I think it's perfectly normal, this shows the sync of the virtual currency world, this is really a good signal, because all the virtual coins coexist in a bitcoin bubble...
112  Other / Off-topic / Re: Would you give bitcoin as a wedding gift? on: July 04, 2017, 05:59:10 PM
I think we should not do it, laughter is a very important holiday of every couple, more than money, they want to receive the most meaning, so you should donate the dishes Material gifts, it would be better.
113  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why bitcoin is not supported in some countries? on: July 04, 2017, 05:57:11 PM
Bitcoin is not supported in all the countries because it has some policies regarding using bitcoins.because some people were using bitcoins for money laundering and drugs .well i have not got any information about this till now .
I agree with you. Although they are very developed and bitcoin can open up new pages of currency history. However, some countries still do not believe in bitcoin. It may be due to various reasons that bitcoin is not acceptable there.

You are wrong, nowadays, in the world, there are no countries to deny bitcoin, there are only two forms here: some countries accept and legalize bitcoin as a real currency, Again, countries that have not accepted bitcoin, but their citizens still use bitcoin normally.
114  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are your plans with your Bitcoin? on: July 04, 2017, 05:53:15 PM
Hi guys Smiley May I know what are your plans on your Bitcoin in the future? Do you plan to keep on investing on Bitcoin related businesses or do plan to convert it into fiat and ventures on new business?

I'm planning to invest more on Bitcoin related companies and convert some of my Bitcoin into fiat and invest it on our local stock market. How about you?
my planing is almost same like you. invest more on bitcoin
and convert some it to real money for my saving

I think bitcoin still carries a lot of potential, and its value can go up even higher, so I want to store all my bitcoins. I will wait until it reaches the best value.
115  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: In what situation would Bitcoin die? on: July 04, 2017, 05:35:49 PM
How and why would the end of bitcoin (and any other cryptocurrency) occur? Value decrease? Legality issues? Different technology/ideas to supersede it?
I think that the end of the bitcoin will be declared by the regression of the confidence of people in this currency, or even completely ignore !!
However, in my opinion the end of the bitcoin is very very far from being and that we are in the spring of the bitcoin!

The bitcoin bubbles are gradually getting bigger, this can lead to the risk of exploding, not just bitcoin, most other altcoins will also collapse. That's a bad thing, so they're trying to adjust things.
116  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Billions stolen from South Korean Bitcoin exchange on: July 04, 2017, 05:33:38 PM
Bithumb, the fourth largest Bitcoin exchange in the world was recently hacked resulting in Billions of Won being stolen.

This has happened for some time, as some trading floors are attacked when bitcoin's value is normal, but I am disappointed that it is the largest trading platform in Korea.
117  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How much risk in bitcoin investement ? on: July 01, 2017, 02:09:40 AM
The risk is that bitcoin may be a bubble. Every currency has capitalization. National banks can change the volume, but it is always there. At the bitcoin capitalization is our confidence, but it is too little stability and the guarantee that the price will not collapse like a house of cards.

No, it's not on a bubble. Many experts says that it is not bubble, it's a normal growth of demand of bitcoin that's why the price seems to increase quick and thinks that it is a bubble. Though the risk is always there but only for those new adopters because us, who did invested to bitcoin before it reaches $1,000 we already had good times with it.

No, it's really a bubble, a bubble that we're all in. Although we know it well, we can not handle it, a big bubble and we are part of it, if it breaks down, we all have serious consequences. .
118  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it even possible to regulate bitcoins? on: July 01, 2017, 02:04:38 AM
Many people always talk about bitcoin's decentralization, but they do not really understand it, decentralization will create a whole new bitcoin world, and there, bitcoin is divided into many different levels. And this is not good, I like a bitcoin like present, freedom and strong.

120  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Small fortune, now which country ? on: May 31, 2017, 02:22:31 PM
