101  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: December 29, 2023, 07:49:51 PM
Napoli is very far from defending their serie A title. This have been a complete opposite of what they were last season and it's very sad. With the drama they had with their best player and the league's best player victor osimhen I think the problem in the team would be lasting for a long time.
The present coach is still trying to find the vest formation for the team but in the long run i think there is no future for Napoli with the coach.
102  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: [ECONOMICS] Who's Using eNaira Here. Expect Less Cash in Circulation on: December 29, 2023, 05:38:44 PM
Enaira is just another vision that would not make sense the government are pushing the citizens into believing, imagine I just withdrew 10,000 Naira with a fee of 500. I have heard about many problems in a country but I am surprised a country like Nigeria would be having any issues with the availability of cash.
This shows that this current administration and the previous one has no significant difference aside the fact that we have different president.
103  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Know your facts: Fundamental differences between Bitcoin and Ethereum on: December 29, 2023, 04:52:47 PM
ethereum does not have much of its own independent utility/economy.
....

i agree with this point. ethereum is like a shadow that follows bitcoin.
I don't think Ethereum is to blame for the fact that it seems the price movements of Ethereum is in line with that of Bitcoin, the crypto-currency market mainly shift according to the price movement of Bitcoin.
Ethereum is an altcoin and in my own opinion it's the best alternative for Bitcoin and it has had that throne for a long time. My only issue with Ethereum is that it's transaction fee are very high.
104  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: December 28, 2023, 07:56:16 PM
Brighton are up by one goal again Tottenham Hotspur right now and it's just 23minutes into the match, I think Tottenham Hotspur has not really worked on their defense and they keep conceding cheap goals all the time.
But I must give it to them they also don't find it hard to score goals too so this game is definitely going to spark up along the line my prediction even as Tottenham is on the back foot is that the game would end with Tottenham Hotspur wining the match.
105  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as a Replacement for a College Savings Plan on: December 28, 2023, 06:14:02 PM
Firstly it sound absurd that some institutions or companies according to you is planing to scrap out college degree, I think that's completely impossible and would lead to incompetent hands on very important aspects of the society, imagine being treated by a nurse without degree or your beloved drink company employing no college degree biochemist?
I don't think this would ever happen. Also Bitcoin investment should be a choice a not forced down on people or made a requirement for anything.
106  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: December 28, 2023, 05:50:41 PM
Everton actually gave Manchester city the scare, as they went up on the first half and actually forced Manchester city to only have few opportunities in the first half.
But as always Manchester city rose to the occasion and came back to a three goal to one win over Everton, I still think this is not the best city performance yet and we would be seeing a better Manchester city in the future hopefully.
107  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: December 27, 2023, 07:39:31 PM
Although Everton lost in their last game against Tottenham Hotspur I think they play well and deserved more than just a goal in that match. Manchester city is coming back from lifting the world club cup competition certifying Manchester city as the best club currently in the world, this makes them my favorite in today's game.
I think Manchester city would break Everton defense and score multiple of goals but I think it would be a both team score result.
108  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Understand your wallet on: December 27, 2023, 05:38:19 PM
If am been honest i couldn't
learn anything from what you just said.
Let me assume what you trying to say is
Do your personal research why a wallet was recommended?
And that CEX is for trading while non custodial is for holding?
From what have learnt a good wallet for storing Bitcoin is an open sourced non custodial wallet
With good customer review.
I was also lost from what the OP was trying to pass. For someone who is currently at full member status he makes some unorganized post like someone who is a newbie.
From what I think I got is that the OP was pointing out that some people don't understand what a wallet is also they don't understand how to use an exchange, but if someone has gotten to the extent of knowing what sees phrase is all about then they should not have much problem.

Quote
I have used several wallets since I started having bitcoin, some of these wallet were introduced by people who first me to know bitcoin and I was told these wallets are good and I believe it

Don't just use a wallet based on people's recommendations, it's not safe to save your Bitcoin in a wallet without doing your own personal research on the wallet.
109  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Lack of proper knowledge on casino games increases chance of loss and reduce fun on: December 25, 2023, 07:35:54 PM
Why should you gamble on something you have no knowledge about, it's crazy, I can understand when you play a game without anything on line for fun, but when you Are gambling/staking your money into anything then it's imperative to have a good knowledge of what you are doing, although have knowledge about it doesn't guarantee you success but you would have a better chance at winning.
110  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: December 25, 2023, 07:31:34 PM
It would take a long while before Manchester united can be a contender for the English premier league, right now they should shift their focus on qualifying for any European competition. Manchester united is in such a bad situation I think it would be hard for them to lure any top players into the team.
The issue is not only in the pitch but also off the pitch. The glazer family aren't interested in the football play if the team as they are in the financial gains.
111  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Premier League 2023/2024 Discussion Thread ⚽ on: December 25, 2023, 05:37:58 PM
Well I think Arsenal has a strong hold on the English premier league, they have shown they want it more than Manchester city or Liverpool this season and I am giving them my support. ARTETA has really done a lot of the team so far and I don't see anything stopping them aside from themselves.
They need to remain consistent and face every game like their last and with time they can sit comfortably at the top of the league when it finishes.
112  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Could newbie ask their unsolved crypto related questions ? on: December 25, 2023, 02:50:49 PM
The board has it's name as beginners and help board for a reason and that reason is to guide people who has some difficult about the forum and cryptocurrency related issues.
Well to you question I should start by what FOMO is and that's fear of missing out just like FUD which is fear uncertainty and despair they have the tendency to cause panic in the crypto-currency community and what this panicking does is force people to make not well thought about decision and this can affect them negatively or if some stroke of luck is on their side it could lead to a positive outcome.
113  Economy / Economics / Re: What is your take on this? on: December 24, 2023, 08:50:08 PM
Well the current government administration promised to be more crypto-currency friendly and if this is actually how they wrote it then it's a good step. Nigeria is amongst the fastest growing crypto-currency interested countries in the world and I believe Nigeria is top in Africa so the ban placed was a real blow to Nigeria.
I think it's a positive step and would further boost the adoption level of Bitcoin in Nigeria. It's also good for Nigerian citizens as our local currency Naira is fast becoming of no value, crypto-currency can be an easy and even a safer way to save up.
114  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What would happen if BTC were to be adopted as a global reserve currency? on: December 24, 2023, 08:21:42 PM
What should we be suspicious of? The real question is why aren’t governments making Bitcoin legal tender in their states. So far only El Salvador and Central African Republic are the only countries where Bitcoin is officially used as a currency. I believe that if the rest of the world adopts Bitcoin, it will hasten the growth of bitcoin. I can’t think of a negative outcome should governments adopt Bitcoin
It's not that easy, from the list of countries that has adopted Bitcoin as a legal tender you would notice that they are developing (also called underdeveloped) countries their currency and economy are struggling or has low value, Bitcoin is like a new hope to their citizens and crypto-currency would be a better way to have a more effective currency for their citizens, but in the developed world their is the battle of Ego, control, power, the government wants for authority and they can do that with the Fiat system but it becomes more difficult with crypto-currency.
115  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Know when to ride and stop! on: December 24, 2023, 07:43:05 PM
Fella should know when to ride when you are on a win streak. You can test the water first by betting slowly until you get the tempo of winning streak then slowly increase your bet while you are still winning. Stop immediately when you encounter a lose or two because there’s a high chance that you will be tilted and chase loss until you lose everything.
This idea has a large contribution to the amount of severe losses people has accumulated while gambling. You can be channeled to stop when you experience loss but then you can experience the loss so big your winnings would not even be able to remedy your situation.
Although it's still a strategy that works for some people but rather than that I would suggest you have the amount of money you hope to win and amount you can't exceed to loss and then have a reasonable staking budget.
116  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Selling All Cryptocurrency for Fiat and Earning Interest? on: December 24, 2023, 06:04:54 PM
Well it depends on what you goals are, we all don't have similar interests or desires, as a Crypto-currency investor that's interested in gains from selling your crypto-currency you don't necessarily have to sell your cryptos to Fiat you can actually make use of stable coins a Good example is USDT (it's pegged to the value of the US dollar).
Where is the sense in selling your crypto-currency into Fiat because you have reached your gain goals only to buy back crypto when you see another opportunity, learn to explore the opportunities Crypto-currency already offer
117  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: December 24, 2023, 03:44:29 PM
Chelsea and Manchester united are still trying to out do themselves in terms of which team plays the worse. After Manchester united gotten beaten by a weak westham united, today Chelsea received theirs as they lost to wolves another team that's not in the best time of their season.
What Hurts most is that I bet on Chelsea to win. Seeing the recent results of wolves I think Chelsea were supposed to win them even if they aren't doing so well themselves. Do you all think that Chelsea can still redeem their season.
118  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which one did you use to gamble with more on: December 23, 2023, 08:41:05 PM
Well I always believe in being versatile while gambling, I actually don't let my emotions lead me that's why I can either bet before a match starts or I bet on a live match, but there are factors I look out for, firstly the odds, for example a match between Manchester city and a lower English premier league side always city would have a low odd before the match but if the game proceeds especially into the second half and city is not already in the lead the odds are increase in this case I can bet/gamble on city to win.
119  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Shouldn't Deposits Into A Wallet Show Under Transactions? on: December 23, 2023, 07:40:37 PM
Anyone that wants to send you Bitcoin should not give you any number or method for you to get the Bitcoin, especially when you have the basic knowledge about Bitcoin, my first red flag is you creating a Coinbase wallet, never save your Bitcoin in an exchange, I would rather encourage you to get your own personal wallet the one I make use of without issues is electrum wallet and all you need to do is send your uncle your wallet address and he gifts you the amount of Bitcoin he wants to, it's that simple.
120  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Don't fall victim in this season of Christmas and new year. on: December 23, 2023, 06:46:30 PM
Well this is an unfortunate incident and I hope we all don't experience this. Well many people has their different reasons for keeping a transaction text message, like personally I don't use the banking mobile application, so I keep text for fast proof that I have made a payment to someone or I have received a payment from someone, although in this case I don't think anyone knew the truth about how the kidnappers got to know their victim had such amount to empty in the first place and if anyone has a vivid statement that it was because of the text message then that person should be the first suspect.
The kidnappers can easily ask him to check his bank balance using the ussd Code since it's a small phone and through that means they can still know how much their victim is worth.
