I don’t know what I will be doing when the AFCON ends, all my attention has been focused on the tournament and I have forgotten about the EPL and champions league. The last time I was this excited about the AFCON was when we had the likes of Kanu and JJ Okacha on our team.

Congratulations to the Super Eagles. They have done their nation proud. The game against Angola was so interesting that it had me on the edge of my seat till the full-time whistle was blown. The extra time added was the longest seven minutes of my life. It would have been heartbreaking if Nigeria conceded a goal in extra time.  The goalkeeper did not really need to do so much, we have only conceded one goal in the tournament and that’s because the defenders have been superb. We might just win this tournament without the goalkeeper making any heroic saves.
102  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you think women will make better gamblers by their nature? on: February 03, 2024, 06:48:36 PM
I gambles but i don't gamble above my limits or to an extents where I can't control myself because I don't want the gambling addiction to will over me due to how some people do apply greed while gambling, so what i does is that i sets my limits and whenever my limits is reached then i quit and stops going further not to go against my wish and plans. If others are gambling and they goes above their limits or where they can't control their thought and their thirst for gambling which could ignites gambling addiction in them. Everyone has the right to gamble including both genders but when it goes against the normal way then that calls for orderliness.
I don’t believe greed is the only cause of gambling addiction because gambling addicts do not care much about winning or losing, they gamble for the feeling they get from taking high risks. I believe everything in life should be done in moderation. People fall into the trap of gambling addiction because they don’t possess the discipline to control their impulse to gamble. Anyone can suffer from addiction regardless of gender.
103  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Social media is a breeding ground for scamers, be intelligent while you explore on: February 02, 2024, 09:14:41 PM
As this forum is concerned, there are different good people who will never allow scammers  to mislead others, that is why wrong information are always filtered out here and users are immediately cautioned  when they drop wrong information.
Scams are not moderated on the forum but you’re right, the forum remains a safe space because community members devote their time to making it so.

The social apps is unsafe to be a place where a newbie can get good knowledge about cryptocurrency. It is good to recommend people to learn from the Bitcoin talk communit or any other Bitcoin educational material that is legit.
Fraud has always been in existence. Now it’s done on a larger scale, scammers now take advantage of social media to reach their targets. Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and even Bitcointalk are used by scammers, the difference is Bitcointalk forum members are less gullible and aggressive towards scammers than other social platforms are.
104  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you believe visiting a seer or spiritual house could make you win a game? on: February 01, 2024, 10:41:42 PM

Praying while gambling is very funny because prayer is what we use to communicate and request from God for help and God doesn't support or like gambling, an example is in the bible where he chased gamblers out of the synagogue. So how is he going to respond to such prayer when he is rebuking gamblers.

Also, sports is man made and other games including casino games and God does not have business in man made arrangements. So to pray while gambling is a waste of time because God won't condescend to that and I have seen many gamblers who pray while their game is on but that is done in ignorance. Prayer is important but it has no place in God's line of action.
I’m sure there are religious people who will dispute this with you. They pray about everything lol. They forget that there are two sides of the coin, it is dumb to think a divine being could be behind the outcome of a gambling events. Wouldn’t there be a conflict of interest because other gamblers would be praying for a different result. The way I see it, it’s a issue of self confidence, some people pray and wear lucky charms just so they can feel better about their bets. A confident gambler doesn’t need to do all this.
105  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: Dont Buy a second hand phone from people you dont know on: February 01, 2024, 10:06:11 PM
Avoid anything second hand. Make you nor go learn lesson the hard way. Some people dey kirikiri because of second hand phones and cars wey them buy from person online. E dey possible say kidnappers don use that device or vehicle run operation before and police dey track am. Trust Nigerian Police, anybody hand them see the device na him them go hold responsible. The only thing wey fit save you na receipt and police report of transfer of ownership. Make I still add this info, incase them tiff your phone/car, make sure say you report am for station asap because if the robbers use am commit any crime na you police go hold.
106  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Viewpoint of a fan gambling on: February 01, 2024, 09:44:21 PM
I think fans are always torn between choosing their favorite teams/athletes over their bet analysis. For me, I don’t make bets that are not in favour of my team. If the stats indicate that my team may be in the losing position, I would prefer not to play the game. Because if I do stake against my team and I win the bet, I won’t experience that thrill of winning because my team lost.
107  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Africa Football Discussion || Current Topic: AFCON 2023 on: February 01, 2024, 09:17:53 PM
With almost all the big teams like Ghana, Egypt, Morocco, and Senegal out of the tournament, Nigeria is the current highest ranked team in the tournament. We are the Brazil of African football. Everyone wants to beat us, it seems we have a target on our back.

Well this is a sad one for the Super Eagles because losing two key players is not what the Nigeria team can afford right now,  and to be sincere with you,  anything that makes the Nigeria team to perform lesser in the tonight's match,  it will have a huge negative impact on the team overall performance for the remaining days of the tournament,  this is very important and since this guys have been performing near average lately,  it is advisable to keep that steady pest if not there may slide out completely.

I thought they had gone through all possible drug tests before the start of this league,  am saddened to hear this that the two most active front-liners are off the team tonight.
How’s this something to be sad about? All Nigerian players passed the drug tests so no harm done. I don’t know what you’re whining about. None of the strikers are off the team. It seems you have a wrong understanding of the situation.
108  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: February 01, 2024, 08:59:54 PM

I have conflicting feelings about this option. On the one hand, Mourinho can squeeze water out of a stone and achieve results beyond expectations, but on the other hand, United is such a mystical club that even he can fail there. Taking into account the fact that not everyone objectively assesses Jose's successes at Roma, United could become “another” failure for Mourinho. I wouldn't want him to take that risk. Even returning to Chelsea looks more interesting in my opinion.
What do you mean by Manchester United is a mystical club? Chelsea is on the same level as Manchester United, both teams desperately needs to get back to what they used to be. I don’t think Mourinho should go to either clubs, there are both declining teams. There is a long rivalry between Mourinho and Pep Guardiola, I doubt the “Special One” would want to come into the EPL and not be in charge of a club that’s far from being title contenders.
109  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you think women will make better gamblers by their nature? on: February 01, 2024, 12:00:54 AM

Becoming addicted depends on individuals I believe there are people who are gamblers but yet is not gamble addicts why because they are maintaining good gambling health, or responsible gambling. Any woman who turns into addicts has no good plans for herself because in most cases seeing woman gambling looks so irresponsible compared with when they turns into addiction it make it worst than the way it should be, so as woman gambling should have a limits in our life than competing with men who are solely dedicated to gambling and where it gets bad is when they ever tried to gamble and they made first winning this is like a free ticket for them to gear up their interest in gambling.
Do you gamble @SmartGold? I ask because I assume you’re female and I know  you’re very active in gambling discussions almost as much as I am. I believe both genders can gamble and have an equal chance of becoming addicts if they are not careful about their behavior. It’s different in every society but I think women should not be made to feel uncomfortable about their gambling, men want women to understand why they love sports so much but judge women when they gamble? That’s ridiculous.

111  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: At a range of 2years, can a Bitcoin literate invest with a borrowed fund in BTC? on: January 31, 2024, 11:36:16 PM
It is generally not advisable for anyone to borrow money to invest in Bitcoin. Banks will never approve a loan if they know you plan on using the money to invest in bitcoin or a high risk investment. Bitcoin is very volatile and you can’t be certain what will happen in the next two years. Luckily for your friend, he’s getting the money from a relative, with no collateral and managed to get a long repayment plan. I still wouldn’t take the loan though, I would rather invest my own money no matter how small it is.
112  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My first Bitcoin on: January 31, 2024, 11:30:30 PM
another question here, you are earning 5 figures but only spending 110 dollars from that salary when you told us  above that you are working so hard to invest in bitcoin?

$110 is a decent amount of money. For someone earning five figures in naira, I would say OP outdid himself. As a rule of thumb, you should invest what you can afford to lose. If $110 is what OP can afford to risk, that’s his  prerogative.

Other than scrutinizing the OP, do you have any advice for the OP. I have been seeing a lot of threads from newbies about how older members are harsh towards them. Reading your comment on this thread, I understand why they feel that way.
113  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Africa Football Discussion || Current Topic: AFCON 2023 on: January 31, 2024, 11:01:37 PM
The Morocco - South Africa match was an eventful one. Bookmakers didn’t give South Africa a chance to win the game and like most people I was expecting Morocco to walk over South Africa but that was not been the case. It seems the underdogs are doing better than the favorites in the tournament. There is so much uncertainty in the AFCON, we never know how a game is going to turn out.

3 of our best players went for drug test and to be sincere with you I was surprised with this movement. Is it that CAF is looking for a way to make Nigeria lose our next game? Thank God V. Osimhen, Simon Moses and Troost-Ekong all tested negative and these are key players that we really need in this game against Angola, I don't know what they're planning against the Super Eagles.
It was not a movement. It’s normal for players to do drug test, some fans are insinuating that the drug testing was done because of Victor Osimhen’s performance in the match against Cameroon. I don’t think CAF is trying to sabotage the Super Eagles. Let’s remain calm, we shouldn’t let this distract us from our goal, we have an important match coming up and we have to be in the best shape mentally and physically.

Congratulations on your new job and also buying your first bitcoins. I will advise you to move your bitcoins from Binance to a non custodial wallet like Electrum or Blue wallet.

[General] Bitcoin Wallets - Which, what, why

Five figures a month you say? In what currency if I may ask?

Naira, I think. OP has made a couple of posts in the Nigerian local board, I assume he is Nigerian.

Congrats on your first 👏🏽
You can store on any of the decentralized wallets like Trust Wallet, it's a popular choice that i knkw a lot of people use. Good luck
That’s not true. Trust wallet runs on centralized servers so it's cannot be classified as decentralized, and to top it off, Trust wallet is closed source.
115  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you believe visiting a seer or spiritual house could make you win a game? on: January 31, 2024, 09:58:07 PM
I also saw a thread where someone was asking about placing bets in the dream. People who believe magic can influence the outcome of a game are not very good gamblers. They are often at the losing end because desperation is the only thing that can make someone believe in such nonsense. If fortune tellers and seers could see the future, they would be stinking rich but they are not.

Some years ago in my country, a gambler seek for spiritual help to see the result of a match before the match starts. The guy became blind and that was why we read about what he did on the news. If he is not looking for spiritual help to look for money from gambling, he would not have become blind by now. It was a true story.

How did he lose his sight? I would like to know because right now, the story sounds like Norse mythology to me. Like the story of Wodan sacrificing one of his eye so he could be able to see the future.
116  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: January 31, 2024, 09:17:21 PM
One of the teams that is giving me concern is Arsenal, I was one of those who was dazzled by Mikel Arteta’s brilliance since he became manager of the club. They had a great last season, they looked more confident and took their chances. At this time last season, Arsenal were top of the table and their fans were sure of winning the league title. Now, all they are fighting for is top four position. I do not what they caused them to drop off, IMO with all the competitions Manchester City are playing, this is the season other teams have a good chance of winning the league title.
117  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Rate at which p2p merchant are frauding people are high - always be vigillant on: January 30, 2024, 07:34:28 PM
Yes, yesterday I almost fell for a P2P scam. Mine was the regular way these merchants always try to set people up. I had placed an order, and he approved that he had sent the amount to my account, but he did not. I told him he insisted I release it because he had sent it and I would see it in less than 5 minutes. I knew he wanted to scam me, so I left him and slept off. He then knew I wasn't going to fall for his trap and sent the money after so many hours.
The only way scammers can succeed is if you release the coins from escrow without confirming payment. When trading p2p, it’s important to check the feedback on the trader’s profile. This will help you determine the type of buyer you might be dealing with. Also when you’re engaged in a trade, keep the conversation at a minimum and report the account to customer service if you suspect foul play like the buyer clicking paid when he hasn’t made payment. The buyer will be required to show proof of payment and if he can’t, the trade will be cancelled.

Man was scared ASF immediately Vincent Aboubakar was brought into the game for Cameroon. It's by far one of the best games they've played in this Competition. I can mention few names and leave the rest, the entire squad worked hard for the results and they've earned it the right way. I'm impressed with em but more focus to the next. For now, they party, relax, recover and wait fir the next fixture.

It was indeed a great night to Look at the man that gave us them goals ( Ademola Lookman ) as he brilliantly makde good runs into the pass from Calvin Bassey.
Cameroon were reserving Vincent Aboubakar like he was their secret weapon, he was warming up in the sidelines like he was going to come in and change the tide of the game. I wasn’t scared one bit. The Super Eagles played with such intensity and confidence, I knew nothing could stop them. The much criticized Victor Osimhen was everywhere on the pitch. I have never seen a player with so much energy. I could see the tension in the Cameroon camp anytime Osimhen had the ball, they were all concerned about Osimhen and forgot about Lookman. Great game from the Super Eagles, Angola is next.
119  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Crypto exchanges license difficulty in Nigeria on: January 29, 2024, 11:47:20 PM
Belike na the same procedure them still give to open online banks like kuda and Opay. For young tech bros to build their own company for Nigeria nor just easy, you need to get better block to start with. And possibility of getting loan from bank dey very small, them go just use you catch cruise. I nor go say make CBN reduce their requirements because person wey won manage other people money suppose get enough reserve incase anything happen so them fit settle their customers. My own be say make banks dey try give loans to startups to fund their ideas.

There’s a popular song by Kenny Rogers titled “The Gambler”, there is some good gambling and life lessons that’s taught in the song. One of lines goes as follows;   Every gambler knows that the secret to surviving is knowin' what to throw away and knowing what to keep 'Cause every hand's a winner and every hand's a loser.

As a gambler, you have to discover what strategy works for you. To have any hope of success in gambling, you have to have self discipline to know when to call it a day. Most people say they are going to stop gambling when they hit a big score, but they don’t and end up losing it all again.
