Last time I checked NXT they didn't have any finite contract / contract expiry capability.  Cheesy

Going to release a GUI candidate sometime tomorrow.  I got some css for a supposed aero-style look, mind taking a look?

Sure, got my first whole day off in weeks tomorrow. Need to look busy while stealing chocolate Santas off the tree.

BCR now has over 1 BTC backing. Which isn't much, but it's 1 BTC more than anyone else has. Cheesy

I think eventually people will realize that this actually is better, meanwhile bidding is getting it dirt cheap. Cheesy

Not today it wasn't but I was feeling flush.

About Osmium's artwork, I think the OP / Part 2 one would be better with just the graphical border and maybe have the text in that font on a plain background? Gradient / image backgrounds are terrible for legibility - also they make theming next to impossible if it's going to be adopted in-wallet.

Bit busy for my tastes, I like things simple and clear, but I absolutely respect the work. Smiley

Good choice BTW IMO moving a lot of the main menu items to tabs elsewhere. Nothing wrong with old school tabs.

Block auction running like a charm. Smiley

dev could you give us an update about the stuck chain? or whats going on?

My boxes all seem OK, synced with chainz @ 240626 right now... try restarting with -reindex maybe?
108  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BITCREDIT | UPDATE 08/10/15 | BID ON THE CHAIN | VOTE | ESCROW | WORK FOR COINS on: October 31, 2015, 02:16:49 PM
  • Explorer on my computer takes up to much area so it hides market and bank stats, I can not resize the wallet larger
  • "bid with BTC" button does nothing and i have bitcoin core installed/synced in a normal directory
  • bid calculator needs to press enter to get result, maybe button or wording to remind

Block explorer should be resized in next release so you can scroll-bar around within it.

Bid with BTC button should now call bitcoin-qt.exe on Windows on next release.

Bid calculator tooltip does say 'press Enter' but a button could be added. Next release should also show you the BTC rate for your bid.

ive done 3 payments to the bid address(s) when the first paid i made another, then the address switched so i made a 3rd to the new 1BCR address. bitcreditscc said payments would come but i havent seen anything since the first payout block came in as a bunch of dust then the full bit. all payments made from same single address using coin control.
I importedprivkey the onyl place i see the address imported is under bcr coincontrol with the original payout # 1's coins. kinda annoying.

Can you double check your transactions on a block explorer, make sure the inputs your bids came from were all from the address you think they were from?
110  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BITCREDIT | UPDATE 08/10/15 | BID ON THE CHAIN | VOTE | ESCROW | WORK FOR COINS on: October 28, 2015, 04:21:45 PM
Another successful superblock... for anyone wanting to acquire a bit more BCR you should get bidding.  Smiley

Electrum BTC privkeys import just fine, make sure you've imported the privkeys for all the addresses that your bid was made up from if funds came from more than one address to make the transaction amount.

I don't know exactly how it works currently, but when the client checks the block explorer for bids, could it ignore the result and keep the existing data if it had reduced? eg. bids last time checked were x.yz BTC, now it's 0.00 BTC, but there hasn't been a superblock, so we'll stick with x.yz BTC...

Would this add some resilience to the system, prevent a non-responsive explorer at the wrong time screwing up a superblock payout?

I really wanted to keep bidding in at least 3 coins in order to make it versatile, but the reality is there are no reliable Dash explorers. Of the ones that always seem to be working, they do not have a viable API. So i regretfully inform you that Dash bidding will cease @ the next update. We will now only work with BTC.

I was going to suggest just sticking to BTC as well, it's simple and cheap enough to convert anything else to it. Multiple cryptocurrencies might have made sense if the plan was to keep multiple currencies as reserve assets but if the eventual goal is to have assets in the form of something more tangible then bidding with BTC alone will serve fine.

Seems today's playout block paid out to the only BTC bidder, lucky guy.

That was me, but I used an electrum BTC address as my DASH bids weren't getting picked up due to blockstrap's unreliability, although the BTC and LTC explorers seem OK.  Couldn't be bothered downloading 250GB of BTC blockchain.

Imported the privkey without issue but no new address / BCR.  Sad    I've read that you can import electrum keys into Core without problems, just not the other way around, so not sure what the problem is.     62Di3cmoJo3J619tz7qamJsUezavKkGBNW has plenty of shiny new BCR in it but I've no idea how to access it.

Nevermind, examined the tx and two inputs were used to make the bid, imported the other privkey and the won amount showed up immediately.  Smiley

Would be nice to see the 40 block limit in the next update, yesterdays superblock went to a noncompliant miner.

Disregard last post about bids not showing up, my test DASH bid has appeared.

I'm out of sync with chainz though, currently  my boxes are on 223636 right now with peers:

Bidding addresses changed but not updated in bidpage.ui - will submit a pull req. later if not beaten to it.

Should be:

1BCRbid2i3wbgqrKtgLGem6ZchcfYbnhNu (BTC)
LbcrbidVUV2oxiwmQtMy5nffKqsWvYV8gf (LTC)
XbcrbidcSK1FeBy5s3nGiHgWKLSnpDH5na (DASH)

...according to bidpage.cpp etc. in commit be4f2d1?

edit: final.dat / prefinal.dat aren't updating for me on 17.8

3 million BCR goes into 30000 accounts , all multisig 2 of 2, namely one master key and 30000 client keys. These will be sold for fiat only via website , accepting visa , wire and/or western union.

The credits will have additional rules as follows :-

Redemption before a specific date of our choosing will result in the total coins being reduced ie instead of receiving 1000 BCR, early redemption will get X % less calculated based on time remaining. A redemption within the maturity stage will result in 1000 BCR + default increase in trust rating. We also give a final redemption date, which if it passes will result in all keys expiring.

I know a lot of that can be scripted but it seems a bit... complex?

3000000 BCR @ 0.000003 is ~9 BTC... I would be tempted to buy the lot myself.  Cheesy

Maybe sell it gradually, as a working bidding system slowly but surely adds daily to the assured minimum value and pushes up the market price? I do appreciate that you're impatient to get things done and hire skilled helpers though.

it wouldn't be trustless though. you could be the pope and people would still not trust him 100% to hold their tangible currency. big dilemma....

No, it wont be trustless, because you can't do perfectly trustless when dealing with real stuff. Bitcoin isn't really perfectly trustless (and certainly isn't decentralised) either, you're just relying on the distributed ledger and some rather centralised miners (ie. trusting a lot of practically anonymous counterparties) to keep your unbacked-by-anything 1's and 0's safe from attack.

Multiparty custodial structures can be put in place though to minimise risk, and with any fiat connection will come the requirement for real names and identities for said custodians. These things would need to be hammered out before BCR can expand beyond BTC/LTC/DASH 'donational interoperability.'  Wink

I did receive the payments for my bids ... Smiley

Me too, amount looks about right.   Kiss

Bids don't seem to have been reset / cleaned out of the files though, hopefully coming update sorts that out.

Looks like the BN that block got ~239 BCR, don't know it this will be constant, but seems like the BCR distributed to bidders is going to be about 23750 BCR per superblock after the grants / miner / BN / bnk+dof+mof+sof+tof.

Oh and BTW:
I was referring to the BCR wallet about not knowing where to see my receiving addresses

Couple of options...

On Send / Receive page, if you have coin control activated, click on that to see addresses that contain unspent inputs, or on the Receive tab you can pull up addresses you've created.

From the CLI or RPC console (Debug window > Console), 'listaddressgroupings' will display a list of address accounts but only show addresses that are funded, use 'listaddressesbyaccount <account>' to show all addresses for a given account.

Can i get at least one more confirm that the test micro payments made it to a bidder? I want to being work on other related items which are dependent on this working. We are almost due an update and i'd like to have time to code and test as much as i can.

Yes, I got a spate of them yesterday from about block 220960.
