101  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: HBN Investment Journal - 2% returns every ten days - 80,000+ HBN Porfolio on: May 27, 2014, 12:33:09 PM
This looks very interesting.... Two questions - I'm assuming it's never to late to start investing small amounts, and is there a Mac wallet and means to start mining?
102  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Official Unobtanium Thread Open Again! : Current Release 0.9.4 on: May 26, 2014, 10:57:01 PM

this pool is   locked..pay out .. Angry  www2.coinmine.pl/

Is it not simply that you aren't at the minimum?  Mind you 10 Uno is a lot.

Set up your auto-payout threshold instead...

Trying to mine some at the moment... Damn pool hoppers not helping though - disappearing off the pool the moment the difficulty gets too much and then gracing everyone with their presence when it comes back down again... Sorry to whine, but it's irritating as hell...

UNO has some very solid support. Things are looking good! Smiley

Hope so - just done a little 'minesweeping' on Cryptsy and bought a handful of Uno... Smiley
105  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Question about P2Pool on: May 25, 2014, 07:24:11 AM
Just started mining one of the coins on P2Pool.org and have a question...

Since I started, 3 blocks have been found, 1 one of which was one that I uncovered... The value for that has been shared with all the other active miners on the node. Both of the others have gone to other addresses, and by checking the block chain, the recipient's address doesn't seem to be in the list of addresses on the same node that I'm on... I don't understand why that would be the case...

Am I missing something about P2Pool here?

Right now a working wallet for Mac would be a nice addition!

Has anyone solved the OSX wallet crashing problem with 0.9.4?Huh
Sorry, but I don't think an immediate fix is incoming, due to Soopy stepping down as dev for UNO. I can't give you an ETA, but this WILL be sorted out once the transition to a new dev has taken place. Please be patient in the meanwhile.

Have you tried running the previous wallet? It should still work. I just tried the previous windows wallet and it works fine, maybe the OSX version will too...

i'm still running the old OSX wallet ( v0.9.2.9 ) and it works fine

Yep, I got that one running on Mavericks... Downloaded it just now. It's trying to download the block info and it looks like it's gonna take a while yet...
108  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Coinex scam on: May 18, 2014, 07:18:20 AM
I bought about 40 of them, if that's what you mean... Unfortunately I bought them on Coinex, so I doubt I'll see them - withdrawal is 'queued'... :/

So sorry to hear that. I fell for it too, a few weeks ago.  Coinex is now a honeypot scam. It's a a real shame -- at one time it was a great place to trade and mine uno.

See if you can sell your uno on coinex, for btc, then buy DEM on Coinex. You can't withdraw the btc, but you may still be able to withdraw through your DEM wallet.  NVC might also work.  I was reading about this in the Coinex thread. They are also discussing how to get out of coinex in the Coinex chat box.

Thanks, FallingKnife...

I did wonder about doing all that, but as the withdrawal is queued, my Uno balance is showing as '0' - there's no way I can even get at it to withdraw as DEM...

I have sent you 5 uno from my personal stash to the adress in your signature to ease the pain a bit. Should arrive next few minutes. Maybe someone else can do something similar?
If you ever get them back from coinex you can send them back to me, but i think it doesn't look good.

edit:
I have just sent the guy who is running coinmarketcap a message if he could redirect coinmarketcap to this thread instead of the old website. I think that should be alright until we have something to replace it with. Hope everyone is ok with that.

Wow! I'm blown away - thank you! I'll be sending them back, not when coinex come good, but as soon as I can recover some of my losses! What a community! Smiley

What I wanna know is... what happens to things in the queue, and do they get held indefinitely? Coinex has about 40 of my Unos, all queued up after I hit the 'withdraw' button... Sorry, maybe that should be 'embezzled' instead of queued...

They're quick enough to take your money to do a trade with (yep, my fault, I didn't see this thread until just now - and even then, it was only because it got a mention in their chat window) but getting your money back? I've raised a ticket, but seeing all this, I doubt very much I'll even get a reply...

I'm guessing the guy uses the funds in the queue to speculate with until he's made enough of a profit himself...
111  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Unobtanium Info & Discussion on: May 17, 2014, 01:59:35 PM
As I've found out... I only heard about them because they're listed on Unobtanium.io... If they've got such a bad reputation, why not delist from there, or at least take them off the home page?

it will be rated higher when price has moved where it should be. These are low prices we are trading at right now. Can be much more, so don't sell too early what you have mined.
Mining what is rated highest means also you have a lot of competition. You do that if you want to sell straight away. Mining what is rated lower and hold on to it until the price has matured to where it should be is probably a pretty good strategy and many have done well with that in the past. Most money is to be made for the intelligent miner who is also good in speculating. For maximum returns in crypto be a miner and a speculator at the same time Wink From my perspective Uno is underrated aswell as undervalued. That'll probably change at one point and everybody wishes they would have bought/mined before the increase. Right now is probably a very good point to accumulate and put away for later.

Thanks for that - makes sense! And right now, I've got everything pointed at a Uno pool... Bit of a score earlier - pure luck, I guess - one of my miners found a block on the first group of shares. Nobody else in the pool got a look in - 100% reward to me, thank you very much! Smiley

I have a few of my fiat currency tied up in BTC as well (not too much, though...) Been watching cryptsy today to try and gauge whether or not I should put it all in with Uno...

All sounds VERY good to me! One question though - how do people rate CoinWarz.org? That site doesn't exactly rate Uno THAT highly... Just wondering what people's opinions were on that...?

What version of OSX are you using?

it says in his error message that he's using Mac OS X 10.9.2

thats the same error me and another guy here got when we tried the newest UNO wallet

Glad I'm not the only one! Wink
Clearly we need to fix this, because UNO loves Macs. I'm adding you guys to the "Mac Testers" list.

Sounds good to me!

Hi everyone...

I'm new to the world of mining currencies, and kinda like the pool I'm using to mine Unobtanium... I'm getting decent hash rates, and initial impression is quite good... However...

I tried downloading the OSX installer from the unobtanium website and as soon as I tried to run it, it crashed... Has anyone else had this, and is there a workaround?

Thanks in advance!
Welcome to crypto, and to Unobtanium!

There is a newer Mac wallet. Download it from the opening paragraph (OP) of this discussion. Let us know how it works for you.

Thanks! Being a relative luddite, I gotta work out how to install and configure that one - I used the old installer version before!

Thanks, MicroGuy! Will look into that one... One of my ASICs turned up this morning, so looking forward to having a play with it and setting it up later on! Smiley
