So I have 3x SATA cables/branches with 3x SATA connectors on each. I attached 2x GPUs (which are on 16x USB risers with molex connectors. These risers have molex to sata extenders ) per branch so I dont overload a single branch (3rd SATA connector on each branch is not attached to anything, except one on which I plugged the SSD with nvOC on it). One branch with molex connectors is plugged into the two molex slots on MB.
Alright having 2x per SATA is a good rule thumb. How much power draw per card? And how much from the wall?

Hey there, having an issue with most of my rigs with what I'm struggling for days now, wanted to give it a shot and post here to see if someone has an answer.
Got 5 rigs with this setup:
MB: ASROCK H81 PRO BTC rev 2.0 CPU: Intel Celeron PSU: Antec 750W Gold GPUs: 6x Gigabyte GTX 1050ti 4GB Risers: 6x 16x USB Molex powered risers. OS: nvOC v0017 Clocks: 150/600 Coin: ZEC
Few rigs with: MB: ASROCK H81 PRO BTC rev 2.0 CPU: Intel Celeron PSU: Antec 750W Gold GPUs: 3x Gigabyte GTX 1050ti 4GB and 3x Gigabyte GTX 1060 6GB Risers: 6x 16x USB Molex powered risers. OS: nvOC v0017 Clocks: 150/600 Coin: ZEC
Rigs crashing all the time, most crash with GPU1 stopped working, then they crash one by one. Sometimes they exit with thread errors.
What I've tried:
1. Lowering the clocks 2. Using the default clocks 3. Using Powerlimit (Both lowering and increasing from it's default value by 5-15W) 4. Powering the PCI buses with 2x Molex connectors to the both (With and without it) 5. Swapping the risers on GPU that crashed first 6. Swapping the GPU that crashed first 7. Swapping the PSU 8. Powering 2x GPUs per PSU cable 9. Using Auto/Gen1/Gen2 for PCI bandwidth speed
Currently, Im out of ideas what to do. Anyone has a suggestion?
Was just going to ask what power limit do you have set for each card? And how many molex's do you have plugged in on each rail ? From what you are describing, it is sounding like a power issue.

I wanted to give some feedback, after a lot of research and feedback from Fullzero I would recommend to anyone that it issuing a 4-6 GPU system to use 8GB of RAM minimum instead of 4GB. I have been running my system now for 5 days and have not had any "random freezes/crashes" even with pushing some OCs in testing the new ver 0017. I think this is something we overlook.
What makes you think that there's a need for additional RAM? Top is showing that I'm not using more than about 1.2GB with four cards. I'll test this weekend on my 6 GPU system, but doubt it would use more than 2GB I thought the same thing until I really looked into it fullzero had suggested it had to do with the possibility with the DAG and virtual memory for Linux and or Windows. Before I had random freezes, kept the same settings, added the RAM and no more issues.

My performance is lower than it is on ethOS or in Windows. I have two 1070s and 4 1060 6GB. On those with no overclock I get around 120MH/s in other OSes. Here with a +300 memory OC I am only getting 105MH/s dual mining eth and sia. I lowered the dcri value to the same number. I didn't set a power limit, maybe that will do it.
If you scroll to the top of the mining process do you see OC messages for core and memory for each card? If so: try +200 core clock and +900 memory clock if that hard or soft crashes, try: try +100 core clock and +600 memory clock also what model 1070s and 1060s? EVGA superclocked 1070s and gigabyte gaming g1 1060s. Let me try the new settings edit: looks like it crashed on the original settings with cannot get current temperatures I may try individual clocks and see if one of the cards is the problem. I need help with my 6x 1070 rig.. I keep getting the following error and then the miner crashes and restarts.. I didnt overclock it is on default settings..
NVML: cannot get current temperature, error 999 (an internal driver error occurred) GPU 0, GpuMiner cu_k02 failed 30, unknown error GPU 0, GpuMiner kx failed 1 GPU 3, GpuMiner kx failed 1 GPU 5, GpuMiner kx failed 1 GPU 4, GpuMiner cu_k02 failed 30, unknown error GPU 4, GpuMiner kx failed 1 GPU 1, GpuMiner cu_k02 failed 30, unknown error GPU 1, GpuMiner kx failed 1 NVML: cannot get current temperature, error 999 (an internal driver error occurred)
Any help would be appreciated.. Thanks
Hi, I know this is an old post but I was wondering if anyone else has encountered this issue and has found a solution. I have 6 x 1080tis running at stock (msi afterburner not running) and do not get this error anymore but would love to overclock. As soon as I turn on afterburner, even if I don't overclock, I get the above error message. Sometime within 10 minutes, sometimes after days of running fine. I've also tried overclocking on NVOC and after awhile I get the same error. Any help would be greatly greatly appreciated and will send some ether for your assistance. Thanks!!! I have only gotten this when OCing which is doing too high of an OC or OCing and not giving enough power via the powerlimit in order to support the OC.

Reapplied, guess when I linked my profile it got messed up.
Thank you for being prompt and transparent for us to check ourselves!

When running GENOIL is there a way to see card temperatures? I cant find any setting? If there is no settings, is there any app that we can install ? Thanks
GENOIL seems does not have a way to put it on screen like claymore however can do it manually by hitting F12 to open guake then typing "nvidia-smi" should show you all the GPUs watts, temps and loads

Same question as before but with pictures, miner is hashing away when suddenly the whole OS slows down to a snail pace where i have to wait for 20 seconds for every action to go through and the hash rate is cut by 50% with the GPUs doing this strange hashing pattern: ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2Fwts4CgG.jpg&t=663&c=Hek1cAMieQBsEg) Please advise, this happens on any pool i try, in both dual mining and ETH only mode, across multiple overclocks.. This is a soft crash; if you have already tried lower OC; it is most likely being caused by too low of a powerlimit. What GPUs / clocks / powerlimits are you using? 7 x gigabyte 1070 FE, each at 120 pl and clocked +200/+1600, turns out this also happens in ETH only mode, not just dual mining. any suggestions? If you want to keep that OC, you will need more power. 120 is not enough to maintain that OC (based on from my experience with my 1070s) I had to give them at least 135-145 to do +200/1600 solo mining ETH. i see, i was going by UberDaemon's settings since i ended up getting the same parts as his build. Right now it should be more profitable to use genoil (which unless I am mistaken; can only single mine) as you should be able to net at least +5% from Claymore single mode (with outright higher hashrate and no 2% fee). I am not sure at all what the best way to avoid soft crashes is with genoil; if anyone can find OPT settings that are stable with high memory clocks let me know. Currently testing it, but am noticing that it does not have the nice web API to connect too like claymore lol. I will get back with you later today with my settings.

I haven't heard the need to have ETH in the wallet but as for the address, that is what you use to send tokens to it and will be associated to that ETH wallet address once sent.

I probably would do a paper wallet for most of these for security.
For some of the main ones, can use Trezor or ledger S.

ETH as many have said and one I like for the storage solution idea is Siacoin, has a lot of potential.
I am currently looking at Hush coin too.

Bermuda, Monaco, the Bahamas, Andorra and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) All U.S. citizens, regardless of where they choose to reside, are still legally obligated to file U.S. income taxes in the same way as if they were living in the U.S.

This is why many people give up US citizenship once they leave and do not keep dual.

Am new to bitcoin, please guys what is actually required interms of system specs and knowledge to effectively mine bitcoins
ASIC-based miners took over Bitcoin mining years ago. Don't bother even thinking about it on any non-ASIC device unless you like to generate lots of heat and wasted electricity for pretty much ZERO return. For bitcoin yes, but if you mine altcoin you can make a profit

I personally have been holding for several years and with that gone up and down and for awhile I didn't check it for almost 12 months even now when it goes up and down I just sit back and watch the panic sellers now. Its quite entertaining to say the least.
Its like a wave, lets just ride it out!

As I stated in my other posts, bitcoin has a great future but the destiny will be shaped by the community and the whales. Bitcoin won't build up its future itself.
This is very true and well said.

Clock speeds not working on second card.
Attribute 'GPUGraphicsClockOffset' (m1-desktop:0[gpu:0]) assigned value 100.
Attribute 'GPUMemoryTransferRateOffset' (m1-desktop:0[gpu:0]) assigned value 350.
Where is gpu:1 ?
My oneBash -
INDIVIDUAL_CLOCKS="YES" # YES NO # Set individual clocks here if INDIVIDUAL_CLOCKS="YES" __CORE_OVERCLOCK_0=100 MEMORY_OVERCLOCK_0=350 __CORE_OVERCLOCK_1=100 MEMORY_OVERCLOCK_1=800
Thought maybe my USB was too slow so I changed oneBash to "slow" usb. Same thing is happening. Clocks only getting set on GPU:0 Can't set fan manually at all. Anyone have any ideas here? Had this once and it was a bad image on the USB. Just re-flashed and was fixed. Was kinda weird but hasn't happened since.

The key that has been said is get coins and hold. Especially those who got in several years ago. We will see what it goes to in the next couple of years

I feel the only way the major crypto's will die would be some type of major worldwide network issue such as a cyber attack other then that I feel they are here to stay for a long time.
