As you may already be aware we have had our fair share of trials and tribulations more so over the past 48hrs.
So in the next tentative steps I hope you have the Aero blockchain fixed and moving properly again.
I would very much appreciate your cooperation and carry out this mandatory update to the latest wallet (below)
Follow the steps provided below please make sure you back up your wallet.dat to keep your coin data safe.
Some additional information. We could have had this fix to you sooner however I dont like to point fingers but it seems
the temptation to make a few extra coins by staking become to tempting for the few who prevented the majority from
forcing the blockchain out of the way. I hope this sheds some light (for those who followed on IRC) on how cryptos really
work and grasped some of the technical challenges which were faced in overcoming this issue.
I will be making a complete breakdown of what events occurred and what actions were taken to remedy the situation in
an attempt to illustrate the problem and also to shine some light on what is involved in managing, operating and developing
for a coin.
Here is latest wallet screenshot (below) please ensure that you have the correct wallet installed and running.

FULL Install method:
=============
1) Please download the wallet from the download link below - Windows wallet: Aero-qt-WIN-V3.0.0.0
VirusTotal scan results - https://www.virustotal.com/en/file/c8db85355d4329745f4ec245e4d269adc512964b22735b99b7e7b396bdb5e197/analysis/1412292008/
2) remove old wallet -- completely (backup wallet.dat)
3) Install the new wallet (Aero-qt-WIN-V3.0.0.0)
4) browse to installation folder (for windows users usually: %appdata%\Aero\.. ) now create a config file (the naming convention is Aero.conf)
5) add the config info below and save (save with .conf file extension)
6) now run the wallet and leave sync.
Additional Notes
===========
If you still have problems we need you do carry out a resync of the blockchain
1) We need you to please do a full resync of the Aero wallet
2) rerun the wallet from the command line using Aero-Qt.exe -rescan
3) If it still fails, can you please download & use the NEW wallet (meaning backup wallet.dat, uninstall old wallet and then install this Fixed wallet)

Based on the Aero'Coin' code base that includes the mixer code but no EM
- Removed legacy code references, replaced them with AERO!
- Renamed all instances of AeroCoin to Aero.
- Changed the version number to 3.0.0.0 in both the Aero-qt.pro and clientversion.h
- Added in hardcoded checkpoint at blocks, 100, 1000, 10000, 30000, 60000, 90000, 114720
- Windows build, rebased on Qt 4.8.5
- Resynced the block chain against Block Explorer
- Confirmed correct chain, from public engagement
- Recoded the EM back into wallet (big job)
- Rebuilt 3x Seed node daemons on the new code base, that includes Mixer and EM capability
- Resync Seed nodes against Block Explore

I resysnced my mac wallet yesterday and all the previous bad/orphan transactions I had disappeared and my coins were returned to my balance.
I believe I'm on the main chain now as it's keeping in sync with the top block on the block explorer.
As I mentioned earlier, I've had no luck getting a new install of the new windows wallet to fully sync the block chain.
I restored my previous wallet and perform a "-rescan". It's working and staking. I'm also in sync with the block explorer. Is it good ? Yes its a promising sign however i cannot guarantee this 100% just at this moment so please hold from sending and Aero.. It was a pain in the butt retrieving the lost transactions we managed thus far so please hang on a little longer and we should be good to go. Update will follow shortly. Thanks, Majika |

quick update,
We have finally identified (and confirmed) the correct blockchain, we have linked up node 3 and the Block Explore to the correct chain, we are moving the other nodes code base over to the same as node 3 and the BE.
This should be done in the next few hours.
We have reinstated the features and will be available in this next release.
It should be noted that the OSX wallets are running on an out-dated trunk of the Aero code base. We will resolve this shortly with the correct repository and will make a fresh build once we have the exchanges back up and the windows wallet ready, tested and out.

Aero Community,
Before I begin I would just like to emphasize one again, I am trying every conceivable option which is available to us to help get Aero back up and running.
Furthermore, I am doing my best to reduce any fallout caused but our fixes, by fallout i mean *potential* lost coins on the blockchain.
Once again, I am calling for a little more of the Aero community's time to help determine, from your own perspectives the following information:
I would like to know from users how have transactions which have not turned up to clarify their stuck transactions:
1) The TXID,
2) Search for the TXID on the explorer, if it is there, then that means you are on the same chain as the Block Explorer. If the TXID is not there then you are on a different chain
3) check the block height matches the Explorer
but one thing we do know for sure is that the Explorer and Seed nodes are not on the same chain which make things really difficult to diagnose...
So the majority of the community who are on the correct chain would identify the correct chain which we can code our fix for.
We made the assumption to use information from the Seednodes in the last wallet update because of the amount of wallet that were connected to is and fully in sync..
Now we are trying a different method. All this is aimed at reducing the chances of users loosing coins.

Update,
This is a Mandatory upgrade to the Aero Wallet,
Just to make it clear you should install the new Aero wallet (Aero-QT Win-Fix https://mega.co.nz/#!VoMAwBTS!TiQLAdo2YoqnPG4MDDy71gJfaXkPY3mmFmVEPYIDNfQ)
You must shut down your old wallet.
Also please delete the old wallet (keep wallet.dat).
Download and install the new wallet.
Then finally Resync your new wallet.
This is how we fix the situation in the fastest possible way!

ok, so a quick fix will be with you now (below) and closely followed by a permanent fix within the next 12-24hrs..
I would request you all to please update to this latest Aero wallet (here).
To ensure we avoid the progression of any problems its essential that you all upgrade to this NEW Aero wallet.
For the moment we have temporarily removed EM and Anonymous Transactions (aerosend) features.
These features will both be re-enabled in up coming wallet release..
This release is to get everyone back up and running again.
STEPS:
1) We need you to please do a full resync of the Aero wallet
2) rerun the wallet from the command line using Aero-Qt.exe -rescan
3) If it still fails, can you please download & use the NEW wallet (meaning backup wallet.dat, uninstall old wallet and then install this Fixed wallet)
4) Now you need to fully resync again.

OK, apparently there seems to have been an sync issue..
There may prove to be invalid checkpoints.
*** This is urgent and should be considered faulty until further notice. ***
*** Please do not TX any funds until further notice ***
We are looking into things as we speak so please hold off on transactions until we can clearly identify the problem and prepare a working fix.
In preparation for whats to come please have a look over the potential method.
1) Hard code in a new checkpoint
2) Make sure all the seed nodes are using the new wallet and are all in sync
3) Get all the people who are having problems to delete the block chain, download the new wallet and fully re-sync against the seed nodes
This is probably the simplest way.
we are working to resolve this in the quickest and most painless way possible.
Estimated Time-frame: 12-24hrs

would coingate operate as merchant services for AeroMe? or is it just designed to get more attention for Aero? I thought you were building merchant services for aeroMe ...
Firstly, its about having options.. With the added benefit of allowing end-users alternative methods to carry out none-linear transactions allowing for maximum flexibility. Secondly, It would help with exposure regarding Aero to fiat transactions although this was not primarily why I requested you guy to help out and look around. Is http://aero.blockexplorer.cc the only explorer for Aero? It seems to be down... I have a quite large transaction from yesterday that shows confirmed in my local wallet, but never arrived at the destination. Trying to figure it out but coming up with no way to look into it... BE some time need reboot i think, i sent message to Dasource the person who made the BE its should be back up soon Thanks for stepping in there Idol. Well probably drop below 3 by the weekend. I mean with bitcoin so low I don't really care. I'm sure we'll get a big bump when AeroMe is released, but if the price crashes while dev is gone... Then it's hard to tell what the price will be when AeroMe is finally out. Dev said he had something planned for after AeroME. I don't know, I'll probably hold for the long term. If I go down with the ship I'll go down with the ship.
FYI: I'm never gone  just at this exact moment I am unable to provide 100% of my time, this will change shortly and will once again be back in a position to devote 100% of my time to Aero and ofc. AeroME. It all comes down to his time. He has to have the time to develop quickly... Too many new coins coming and many will copy AeroMe Yes, I totally agree I need to be making moves in quick succession. |

Aero Community,
I wish to share with you some personnal information that I feel is important you know. As most of you already are aware, I am the only full time developer behind Aero. Life happens, and being an army of one, when life presents challenges, precedence of task lists and to-do's are adjusted as necessity dictates. I wish to let you know that there have been some delays to the desired timeline to releasing AeroME.
Unfortunately, I have been called to assist with family matters which will last for another couple of days. This is not a signal that development has stopped, has been delayed or put on the back burner. It is simply my way of letting you know my status, our project status and where my energy has been focused. It pains me but I have only been able to dedicate a portion of my time due to this family issue which I am obliged to assist with.
I want to make this part as clear as I can with full disclosure and honesty. All of us only have so much time in any given day. At the moment I have had to help, leaving me with one hand tied behind my back. I only have eyes for Aero, The Aero Community and of course AeroME. But sometimes family comes first. I live, breath and drink developing Aero. Every moment I have free is dedicated to the progression of Aero. AeroME WILL be finished in a standard fit for the Aero Community, Free from bugs, Stable, Secure and a platform fit for a king.! I will not settle for anything less.
On another note I need your help. "Payment gateway processor"
I have never asked the Aero community for anything besides patience and continued support (for which I am extremely grateful) However I believe some matters are better tackled as a movement, a force of many dedicated people as opposed to a single dedicated individual. I really need your help. We all need each other's help. I would like to enlist the help of the Aero community in our efforts to help to get Aero listed with a payment processing solution such as https://www.coingateway.net. I believe this would be a great benefit to Aero and moving us forward. If you have something you can offer in terms of payment support please bring it to the table.

hi Cloakko, Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused, however I have been unable to reproduce the issues you have described. The staking process works basically as you outlined above. There is variance but this is negligible. Also I can confirm this is an isolated issue as i have tested multiple wallet across the network. My only suggestions is to perhaps wait a little longer for *all* the coins to fully stake, Alternatively, backup your wallet.dat, uninstall Aero wallet. reboot then re-install the wallet. Please ensure you have followed the configuration guide which includes the correct Aero.conf config setup. An simple explanation on ther POS process:- https://cryptocointalk.com/topic/700-proof-of-stake-explained-rough-draft/Extract: The amount of the POS block you receive will be a % of your "staked" coins. Staked coins are the amount of coins you had eligible for POS rewards when you minted a POS block.
I am not 100% clear on this part It may only take a portion of your eligible coins I am not sure how this is determined. I have pm'ed sunny king the PPC developer and I will edit once I am sure.
The POS block will be for a % of those staked coins. The POS ROi as it is know varys depending on the hashrate and the POS difficulty. It can be anywhere from 1-3 %I hope this helps. |

As far as the concept art goes, these are interpretations taken from the discussions provided by the development team of elements and functions included in AeroME. This is an accurate representation however some changes will occur in the UI layout, change position of some elements and color schemes.

On a lighter note we should shortly be seeing POD feedback from the Proof of Developer project leader.. We will keep you updated on any announcements. On a personal note the whole PoD scheme is a great idea and an asset to the Crypto community which should help bring some resemblance of honesty and accountability; meaning raising the bar of whats expected from developers and altcoin operators etc..
