I agree with the ol' "stick to what you know" saying, but I also think it's important to diversify. For example, I am also looking at the precious metals markets. PAX Gold was my starting point, but I'm moving now into silver with plans to own the physical silver down the line ( buy low and HODL strategy )
With Forex I think I could have a shot, mostly because I am already quite interested in finances and economic disruptions in other countries. So even now I am always learning about these things.
By the way the Forex guys are very much aware of the kind of money some people are making in crypto, they don't mock it like some Billionaires do, they respect it as a legit way of making money.

I think FOREX might be a good thing to get into since the currency market is extremely volatile right now. Probably more profitable than Stocks and Crypto during this bear market. Also, very easy to get latest information on financial markets in other countries... although it would probably take a few hours research everyday.

Well I consider myself an investor / trader in crypto. I don't believe in HODL forever anymore after what happened to Terra, I think one should sell at some point, for some projects 10X and I will sell into USDC, for others 5X and a few more risky ones maybe 20X or 30X. If I do well at the next bull run ( 10X of my current bag ) I might look into becoming a day trader too... but I've never tried that.

Seeing that we might be in a bear market for the next year or more, I've been thinking of giving the currency market a try. It would seem that the currency market is ongoing and uncorrelated to stocks and market crashes, because currencies rise and fall all the time and their fluctuations can make you money if you can position yourself correctly. So my plan could be to spend a few weeks learning to trade the Forex markets and see whether that works or not. I'm only wondering what kind of information you base your trading positions on ? Would you have to be reading a lot of financial information just to make one move ? In crypto, sometimes we research a project for a few days before deciding whether to invest on it or not. And even after that, you need to keep up with the latest updates and news to avoid rug pulls and such like what happened to Terra and Celsius. I wonder how much information you'd have to process if you get deep into Forex trading ?

Finally got it ! Took me three attempts but it seems the order went through ! Never used "Limit Order" before... I guess you learn something new every day ! Following some advice on this thread I raised the price, from $0.61 ( current market price ) to $0.63. It worked !

Actually, I am almost exclusively using DEXs these days... Gate happened to have 2 of the tokens I could not find anywhere else, so I signed up with them. I could have signed up with FTX but their KYC is a bit trickier to get past, whereas with Gate the sign up process including KYC only took about 2 hours.

Okay... so this is a bit like "bidding" for the token ? The higher your bid, the higher your chance of getting it sooner ? But that means in times of high volatility you may end up paying a much higher price than the current market value...

Not sure I follow. But I tried Limit Order again before reading your post. If this doesn't work I will try what you suggested. Also contacted Gate again.

I'm pretty sure I did click on the Buy token option. Anyway. I just noticed there is another feature on Gate... the Flash Swap. Tried it just now... but the tokens I want are not available using this.
I did cancel the Limit Order though... so I got my Tether back. Not sure how to do it right but it seems spot trading in pairs is the only way to get that particular token. 

I'm thinking I will never figure out why this didn't work. Gate responded to my ticket but they closed the Ticket and marked it as "solved" not even giving me a chance to respond, even now !! And when you do respond, they give you a limit of 120 words or something which is absurd. My previous comment here was about 600 words, and I didn't even go into too much detail !!

Okay so I went back to Gate and still no POLIS in my Account. And by the way, only Gate and possibly FTX have this token ( Star Atlas DAO ) that's why I went with Gate ( KYC on FTX is a bit more thorough )
I guess I am not familiar with the "Limit Order" feature on Gate. In KuCoin, there is a Limit Order feature, which mostly I would never use, using the "Market Order" feature instead ( buy at whatever the current market price is ). Why doesn't Gate have this feature ? I don't even remember setting a specific price, as I've honestly never placed a limit order before, nor do I want to use this in the future after my awful experience, but just out of curiosity I went and looked at the set "Price" on Gate.  It's clearly $0.53. Price is now $0.58 but 24 hours ago when I set the order it would have been below $0.53 . So what gives ? Why didn't the order execute ? I still got nothing on my account, and even my Tether is gone now because it's assumed I want to go through with that order. So basically I lost my Tether and never got the POLIS token I wanted. Yes I can probably recover the Tether USDT by cancelling the order, but I sure as hell don't want to try another order now !!
Drives me nuts because I also want to buy Enjinstarter, which is also only available on Gate !

Just spent a good couple of hours signing up and doing my KYC at Gate.io, only to have a frustrating experience. The interface is a mess, all I wanted to do was buy some damn token, so I did a trial buy on the Spot Trading section using "Limit Order" . I wanted to buy some POLIS tokens so I looked for the right pair ( POLIS/USDT ) and using some tiny USDT funds I had there I hit the "Buy" button. Nearly 12 hours later my order is still "pending" I check my Funds Overview and I only see the Tether Icon, there's no POLIS token there or anywhere ! Also my ticket has not been answered ! WTF !! All this trouble to buy one damn token ? Am I supposed to wait 48 hours or something ? What is this ? Not impressed !

It worked ! I tested it and bought some NEIBR tokens on Trader Joe ! Now if I could buy some Trader Joe tokens....

Alright guys, I did another test... went back to my centralized exchange, and sent out a tiny bit of AVAX to my MetaMask... let's see if it gets there. They gave me the choice of which Network I wanted to use ( I picked Avalanche ) so I think my chances are good now.

Checked my settings, I still don't know what is wrong with them !



As you can see , everything seems to be set up for the C Chain correctly, but when I click on "Account Details" on MetaMask, it brings up the same address I am using for the MATIC and ETH Network. I was told this was because of the EVM compatibility other networks have with Ethereum.
My centralized exchange is in Australia so it wouldn't do you guys any good, they didn't actually refund the coins, apparently I didn't specify the address properly so they never got sent. This brings me up to the original question... why?! Everything is set up properly so it seems my Account Details address on MetaMask is where the problem is. NOt sure what I need to change that address to. It begins with 0x... like it's supposed to !
I tried also going to Trader Joe, using my MetaMask, it allowed me to connect to that site, does that mean everything is okay ? What's some other site that will fix my settings automatically ?

Tried to configure my MetaMask for Avalanche, sent some AVAX from my centralized exchange to MetaMask... never got them. MY centralized exchange refunded the AVAX but I'm pretty sure my Avalanche settings are all wrong now after that experience.
I revised the settings but can not tell where the problem is. Is it easier to just try an avalanche specific wallet ?  I want to use Trader Joe, I think it only works with Avalanche.

Two reasons I would invest in Illuvium even during this bear market:

The game is a legit AAA game, with a very clear roadmap and market.

The team behind it is top notch, and not just 2 or 3 people, but well over 100 including many talented designers and coders.

I would add that you could stake Illuvium for 500% apy as recently as last year, but I'm sure it's a bit less now. Also, don't know if that is still happening as hardly anyone is talking about it. Funny how everyone was talking about it when ILV was over $1000...

Just noticed the price action is unusually bad lately. Not sure if it's related to anything that it's happening in the project ? To me this was always one of the blue chips in gaming.

Less than $36 million total value locked in Terra Classic... and they're talking about it hitting a market cap of 7 Trillion  ? ( hitting one dollar ) What are these people on ?

Some YouTube influencer just did the calculations... in order for TerraClassic to get to $1 it would have to have a 7 Trillion dollar market cap, so not pretty likely I would think...

Also.. why would the Anonymous video have any influence on this ? If anything, it would make people afraid Do Kwon would soon be put in prison and cause all the money stolen to be lost forever don't you think ?
