101  Other / Meta / Re: Top reporters on: May 02, 2024, 09:23:01 AM
For me a post deserving to be reported as trash is usually bloody obvious: things like thinly disguised clickbait ads/referrals, wildly off-topic, etc.
I never thought about that alone - my criterion would strictly be on thread derailing post, post made in the wrong section and 'em falsified cookie-cutter post. Seems everyone has a different lookout and that pretty fair.
Quote
As of late the number of obviously AI generated posting and plagiarism is on the rise no doubt because ChatGPT makes it so easy to ask a question and then post its answer as if the poster came up with it instead of DYOR,
There's also a way to counterbalance the whole situation and eliminate AI posters.. Although the latter might be arduous! Matter of fact, lovesmay, nutilda, jolly good and the rest aren't relinquishing at all; my worst fears would be unlocked the moment the forum becomes unreadable.
My evil side still wants to Merit a user right before he gets banned for plagiarism, just to make it hurt a bit more.
ouuchh! That would hurt! Please, bans me Tongue
102  Other / Meta / Re: Wall of fame / shame. Shit posts so bad that they are actually funny on: May 02, 2024, 08:49:03 AM
The following quote was written by someone who generally seems to be a good forum member, but who probably writes in the gambling section for posting requirements and has no idea what he is talking about.
There isn't a time his post made sense to me, honestly... Aside the major thread he created about the publicity he made [which earned him a couple of merits way-back], he hasn't been on point since then.
Not just him, we've got a couple more profiles in here that are degenerate spammers, in the gambling section.
Sorry Agbe, but what others have said here about you is spot-on.  Don't write crap like the above and expect it to fly under the radar.
TSC warned him - even after defending his ass. Against all odds, it's clear that he's not gonna improve anytime soon. One of the reasons why TSC decided to quit his post review, after trying in vain to make the offer sacrosanct.
It somewhat saddens me that accounts like yours will one day be Legendary.
[/quote] Does it really accertain the fact that the merit system is working perfectly? It's quite a different thing if a user has some language impediment; This isn't the case here!
103  Other / Meta / Re: Mixers to be banned on: May 01, 2024, 09:58:47 PM
It looks like some scammers are now trying to take advantage of the gap left due to the mixer ban.
What should be done to users who register in the forum to post phishing/fake mixers?
Are they going to be banned or this is a situation where they just get tagged since it's not a real Bitcoin mixer but just a phishing site?
I wasn't expecting anything less - afterall, when Chipmixers left the forum, every other mixer took the chance to wiggle their butts - they all traded through the gap and unfortunately, that was a huge lose and mockery on CM's despair. The years of competition and monopoly ended, not until the government decided to pass in thorough scrutiny on every single one of  'em.
As events have unfolded in 2024 I think we can say that his cautious decision was a good one.
In due time, we'll be toast if Theymos didn't take that drastic decision!
I've never been against it right from the very first day;I always knew the govern's wanna have control - regardless how they'd go about it...and Yes, these has certainly ruined/slized in halve so many people's little earnings, and more have lost pretty much bigger, but I guess we haven't lost everything just yet [maybe until they decide how seclusive their censorships would be] Or maybe we all wake up to our forum's domain not responding anymore!

Edit:
Say for example, I said I would sell you this imaginary home for $10k if you paid me the money upfront and then I disappeared with the money, what would the judge say? "Don't be stupid?"
I don't think their criterion for an investigation vindicates cases like this regarding the context; I mean it does connotes one of the federal laws regarding crimes. They could decide to take up the case but, Dude shouldn't be daft to send out his funds for some imaginary Ireland at first!
104  Other / Meta / Re: Top reporters on: May 01, 2024, 09:40:44 PM
For sure it would be nice to see some statistics of the past years from 2021 and 2022.
There are so many that hit the " Report to Moderator " without notice them , but also there are also a lot that lets say to lazy for doing it.
I have seen in the last weeks there a few new Users have started reporting , i havnt stoped doing it so its now 6 years i report.
Its a Art to animate others.
Well, I don't really mean to be derogatory [forgive me if that's how it looks to you]but, what sort of post do you report? You've got a little language impediment - that could be because you don't speak English as your native language? - if that's the case, how then do you evaluate good post? Just asking  Smiley
People who report bad posts are the unsung heroes of this forum, who basically get almost no recognition whatsoever, and yet they serve an incredibly important function.  I won't hold my breath for any data from Theymos, but the top reporters deserve it IMO.
While that might be the case, how about you think in this direction - realistically, since the data hasn't been updated just yet, that there isn't anyone that you'd think is leading on the chart? Actmyname has been relentlessly good prior to his inactive days [we've got a couple of others too][/sub] but that's what I've ever known the dude for.
I remember him explicitly saying that he didn't us any tools for all those hundreds of thousands of reports that he made (or whatever was the number)
That's obviously not the case.. [I mean, how did you miss Tranthi's post?]
105  Other / Meta / Re: ThemePen - Merit Source Application on: April 30, 2024, 09:54:55 PM
Pakistanis on this forum should still consider themselves lucky as they have shahzadafzal. I do not think theymos is thinking of increasing the merit source for now.
That's not even the problem. Theymos could decide to add another merit source to the existing once (including the Pakistanis local board).

The thing is - if your local board members are willing to vye for you, you could prolly get lucky. There's been a little dwindling on the circulation of merits althrough the local boards
Personally, I'd support your application because way-back, when the Loyce merit review thread was very active,  you reported several threads from your local board and else where too. Kudos boy!

Edit:
I had the chance to collaborate with ThemePen and, during our collaboration he showed seriousness and professionalism.
I like the fact that you collaborated with him at first, so I'd like to ask; how was the outcome? Why don't you pull up like a support - just like what hugeblack does on our local board?
106  Other / Meta / Re: What is the Impact of Accurate Reporting on User Profiles on: April 30, 2024, 09:37:57 PM
I would like to remind you that reports to moderators are created not for something but despite everything. If a moderator listens to your reports and most of them are "good," that is, in agreement with your opinion, isn't that a sign of trust?
Looks to me like he's on a quest for another route to gaining positive trust...(lol) If he's gonna deny otherwise, what's the essence of the question?  Tongue
And yes, a reporter is not a position or a duty, but an ordinary volunteer.
Just like every other spam busters and some few more, vying for the merit sourcehip positions.
These people don't understand the differences between voluntarily services and paid/earned services.
I am wondering what happens with this in the long run.
In the long run, we get a better forum Wink That's what happens Smiley
How i wish this was the case!
107  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Would you cashout or wait for the game to conclude? on: April 28, 2024, 08:57:35 PM
36,000,000 naira is a huge amount to risk, just by using the cashout option.. but, it's even more riskier to not cashout because at that point, you stand a chance to either win a wholesome or lose everything.
If the leftover odd is ranging from 1.21-1.55, your potential wins will diminish greatly..  you might end up receiving as low as 3-4million after the deduction of the bonus and taxes.
Personally, I'll use the cashout option without wasting anymore time.

Edit:OP, I don't think the cashout would be as much as what you described. 12m? That's way too much!
108  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football/Soccer Winning Strategy on: April 28, 2024, 08:49:30 PM
So what I did is apply this same strategy on Soccer as well. Remember to do this on live matches.
So when you see game 1-0 and the team that score 1 has the odds of 1.30, I guess this is a good bet already. Just add another of these live games for your multibet and hope to win. Also, make sure it's already 2nd half.
Booking on live games are one of the most profitable ways to gamble on sports yet, it's no new strategy like you said..or is it?

The casinos still have a bigger advantage on this as the leading team may miraculously be overruled, just about the time you're supposed to claim your winnings; a clear example of that happened when a team was already winning with 2 goals aside - To any gambler, that was enough to paralyse the other team's confidence but, the reverse was the case. The result was a 2-4 victory!
Mind you, you're not wagering on a single game though - you gotta make tons of selections or a few selection with a higher stake.

I've also got a strategy in mind - The handicap option!
109  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How the casino takes money from you with a deposit bonus on: April 28, 2024, 08:20:15 PM
If the casino wants to make things really easy for bonus players, they will quickly run out of business. Everyone will use their bonus to win big and kick them out of business.
even in free town, nothing is free!!
The casino would rather call on their management team to reorganize the system in a way that suites every expenses they make, rather than taking decisions that would kick them out, just to impress their client.. That's also the reasons why every casino must have a "minimum and a maximum withdrawal option" too.
Additionally, for every bonus a casino would give, there are alot of limitations to whether or not you can get it. It depends on your eligibility status; which is how much/often you wager.
110  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: In Your Country Who Gamble More? Young Ones or Elderly Ones on: April 28, 2024, 07:38:56 PM
Majority of persons who gamble are usually the youths because at that old age you are already begging to settle down and relax more than stressing your mental ability to make predictions and all that.
That's obviously a false statement! What most of the middle-aged/ old people rely on are weekly coupon bets; I got used to the fact that i needed to stake games upon games althrough Fridays to Sundays, with coupon codes.. '"that also reminds me of a time i loaded the wrong code and thus, the wrong game "  The only thing that helped me to easily evade the chances of paying every customer's potential wins was that the games didn't end well.

For a fact, the younger ones play on virtual and casino games mostly - that alone can wreck an old gambler's pocket. Mind you, the least stake on coupon bets are as low as 50 naira.
111  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are online/crypto casinos the most profitable digital business? on: April 28, 2024, 07:10:18 PM
Do they make more profit than digital banks, CEX exchanges, etc.?
Creating a sense of comparison already tells me alot about you not knowing how these platforms work; everything depends on the general/statistical traffic on a weekly/monthly or annually basis.
On that note, I can't say which one makes more income.
The casino business is always been profitable even offline casinos[..]
offline casinos aren't that lucrative as you might think... AFAIK, they've got a strict weekly target that every agent has to meet up with, to be eligible for a commission or bonus. Sometimes, the new breed of agents will have to run on a loss for as long as their weekly transactions would improve.
112  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do some people hide to gamble on: April 27, 2024, 09:58:56 PM
I don't think anyone is ever proud of being fondly known as a gambler, but these same set of people haven't done anything reasonable aside wagering their life savings, without having any foresight about the consequences... Oh well, " I've seen cases where the husband vows with his life never to gamble away the family support funds, but leaves very early with it, plus any other available cash he lays his hands on, to the casino house "

Infact, what do y'all think is the main reason why the major renaissance has been on casinos overtime? Isn't it about protecting the user's privacy from the public? People barely go to casino houses - unless it's specially beautified in some ways.
113  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Making the Most of $100 bankroll on: April 27, 2024, 09:42:56 PM
Some people will prefer to go for little odd with high armount of money, this is a silly mistake from some gamblers.
Everyone has a different preference as to how and what odd they'd wager at a particular period (depending on the game type, season etc..). Mind you, this is just another strategy - just like the ones you'd prefer. For me, if it's on virtual games, I'll prefer bigger stakes with about 2-4 games.

I think I'll be more comfortable to accept some sort of restrictions like this also - even way less for some reasons. The concept of wagering with bigger stakes aren't for no regular gambler; "to lose a dollar, you gotta learn how to be more free with losing a cent"
Your friend should gamble on casino games, because you can bet with $5 on different games and have fun playing it.
"spin to win" to be more precise.
114  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Has this ever happened to you as a gambler? on: April 27, 2024, 05:44:39 PM
What could cause a gambler to place a bet to the extent that he no longer has money to pay for the games he played?
This isn't strange to me, not anymore ...If I can recall vividly, it has been the regular thing for a gambler - especially the addicted ones to wager everything they have, until nothing is left of them...
Since it happened mostimes and I was a victim (during the time I worked as a cashier), I had to either confiscate their valuables for a period of 3 days - and if they weren't able to clear their debts and claim their property, it'll automatically be forfeited and auctioned, just to balance the company's business account.
Mind you, the rules weren't created by me - we had a solid documentation and, some were made as stickers on the wall.
115  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your favorite to lose slot game on: April 27, 2024, 05:07:31 PM
But for real, slots have 0 attraction for me, absolutely 0. They eat your money, most of the time don't pay and also have the lowest RTP mostly.
The RTP was already a predesigned plan to mask your loses and make you less worried about anything, and that keeps you wagering. What's more surprising is that most casinos don't even pay the exact percentage as it use to be.
I heard the Aviator games are terrible, is that true?
Aviator game is just a variety of crash games that I’m so sick to play because I don’t know how to properly secure profit on higher multiplier. Crash games is the worst for me because adrenaline will always stop you on winning huge multiplier.
Are you serious? Lemme tell you how... Next time you click on that site, place your stakes and allow the mini jet to fly wherever it wants  Cool Don't panic! Trust me, it'll only crash the moment you Begin to panic [bahaha]
Gates of Olympus from Pragmatic Play on my side, if I take the average I think I still experienced quite a big loss even though I had repeatedly gotten maxwin. What interested me about this game was how I suddenly got a big multiplier (x100, x250 & x500). It's like wanting to get dopamine again & again.
it's rare to have a multiplier up to ×500, unless you're always in the game for it.

Dopamine? Has anyone ever felt love for losing way too much?
116  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your favorite to lose slot game on: April 27, 2024, 04:27:48 PM
This time let’s discuss about your favorite to play slot games that gives you losses often times but you keep coming back for more because you are expecting to win big someday after feeding the slot too many bets.
The last part doesn't guarantee anything.. wagering on casino games and expecting a miracle someday is the weirdest thing I've read today.
Quote
I keep playing Feel the beat slot game of hacksaw gaming because I’m always attracted on the sound effects but I never win anything on this game both bonus and manual slot. This is the only slot game that I play that doesn’t pay more than x200. This shit never good to me but I keep coming like a dawg whenever I saw this game on my suggestion list.
You don't seem to have a problem whether or not the casino is being profitable - that alone tells me alot about your interest in wagering in that casino - it could be for fun? Definitely, Plus the fact that you said something about the sound effect. Casino games are the worst on my ignore list; I did made some speculations in sports way back, and a little on virtual games but not anymore.  Tongue
I heard the Aviator games are terrible, is that true?
117  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is Gambling A Hobby? on: April 27, 2024, 04:03:43 PM
I agree and I see it as a hobby too but for others, it is not. It could be a side hustle or a full time job for them.
full-time job? That's crazy! I'm just wondering, how often they get them winnings - that they decided to dedicate thier whole life innit? It's pretty much like a small scale business anyways; they gotta wager their home appliances along side when they run short of funds..hahahaha!!!
Quote
We do not get to tell grown assed adults what it should be for them. They make the decisions and live with the consequences.
A degenerate gambler knows no consequences; it's either he missed the week's prediction for not making proper speculations or nothing at all. They don't wanna back off!! I think for these set of humans, gambling is more or less a business.
118  Economy / Reputation / Re: BitcoinGirl.Club: How a condescending attitude equates to trust exclusion on: April 26, 2024, 09:59:53 PM
I wouldn't wanna make this look too intrusive but, Bitcoingirl's attitude changed after the major hack recovery. Not in a bad way, but it seems like she became a bit rigorous... ain't gonna lie, sometimes I feel it's not the same person; mind you, you don't have to listen/believe me but that's just my thought.
I wouldn't wanna make this look too intrusive but, Bitcoingirl's attitude changed after the major hack recovery
Were you around before and when the hack happened?  Grin
Feels like it was a long time ago. I remember the saga.
I do alot of reading  Smiley which, is why I know basically all the sagas from the old times.

Edit: Aside the fact that you were a little bit dramatic during the whole mixer ban controversy, I haven't had any direct dealings with you and I don't have to hate you for whatever reasons others are..
Just like I said earlier, I had to dig deep into your history to have a better understanding of who you truly was.
119  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do we really need to blame fraudsters on: April 26, 2024, 09:49:39 PM
The sad truth is that we all need to face the reality of these things - there are no exceptions to whatever/whoever it happens to... I can remember when Theymos mistakenly sent a user in here way too much funds than was supposed, and surprisingly, he returned it without being asked.. well, that was a mistake on Theymos' side - I don't think the case would have been the same assuming the person involved wasn't honest.
We all need to be careful out there; if it sounds too good to be true, then It's obviously not.
Absolutely. Bitcoin transaction cannot be undone.
it'll be very terrible if Bitcoin was made in a way that you could eject/reverse a transaction... Infact, we'll be experiencing more fraudulent activities way-more than it is now.
120  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How has Satoshi's identity never been revealed ? on: April 26, 2024, 09:39:14 PM
It was 2009-2010, not 2024. If Satoshi started Bitcoin today, it would be difficult for him to hide his identity.
That's just the truth. He, they knew too well the verdict and decided their fate way earlier than anyone realized what they did (even though it was a good project). Why did SATOSHI suddenly disappear just when everything was set to run for the next decade?
You know what? I always feel he's/they're still at the corner - maybe with different identities entirely..
It's a shame that the governments are all out for any project that either grant a user's freedom maintains their privacy.
And IP address is not the same as identity. It often links to identity if someone is using the Internet from their home, but if a public WiFi is used, IP won't reveal much,
TOR onion browser is already a privacy guarantor...enhh, but they could also be curious to know him/them? Unless they didn't even care about the users personality as well.
