101  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If someone you introduced to BTC says the risks of her funds is on you on: April 29, 2024, 05:54:59 PM
I have experience such thing before, its not even in crypto investment but other, and I regret ever involving someone else in investment plans, the experience reminds me that what I can go thorough with the hope of getting a better life can be extremely hard for others.

Since that time I stop telling people to invest in anything just because its favouring me, and if they come asking what I am doing for living I can tell them or explain to them, and if they end up asking how they can be like me I will tell them to start doing their own research, which I believe that 90% of people don't like hearing.

People want everything to be done for them without breaking any sweat and yet when anything go wrong they still can't take the blame and accept that it's their own mistakes, if people want to do anything that involve making money let them do it themselves.

107  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The dangers of AI to us as they can be use for crypto stealing malwares on: April 13, 2024, 07:54:03 AM
I will like to make a plus contribution too.

Once unpon a time, when we are looking into a new project, we will try to make sure that the project team are who they said they really are, once we detect that the pictures of the team are not looking so good we become suspicious of a foul play.

In today's world where AI is capable of almost everything, scammers are now using AI to generate almost perfect human pictures, the type that you will see and almost believe to be real.

I was very various of new projects in 2018 but today I am ten times more cautious because we now have AI everywhere, and they are free to use, its a plus for scammers to take advantage of, we need to be super careful.
108  Economy / Gambling / Re: What are your expectations for Casino coins in this coming bull run? on: April 12, 2024, 10:03:32 AM
Hi ladies and guys of the gambling board..

I believe by now, we all should already know that the bull run is fast approaching, and like it's often said, "Do not put all your eggs in one basket", I've invested in different coins from different narratives like Defi, Ai, Rwa, Gamefi and so on and on, but one narrative I've not put any money in Is gamblefi, or simply put, casino tokens, that is a token or coin owned by a casino, and this is not becuase I don't know any, I know quite some, and in all that know, I think two or three stand out, and those are..

1. RLB - from Rollbit
2. FUN - from freebitco
3. BFG - from Betfury

Investing in casino tokens I would say comes with rather a high level of risk, why? Because to me, they arent well known, they don't seem to make waves like coins or tokens from other narratives, and the chances they may remain stagnated and the same price even during the bull run; is quite high.

So, I am brining this dicussion to the gambling community here, and I have just three questions to ask, and they are..

1. Amongst the three casino tokens I mentioned above, if you were to invest in one, which would it be?

2. Are there any new casino tokens you think will do well in this coming bull run? Please tell the community and briefly introduce the project to us..

3. Overall, how are you expecting casino tokens to perform generally, in this coming bull run.?

Since after Bitcoin reached a new ATH all other good and bad altcoins followed the pump I believe that casino tokens are not out of the picture either, the fall of Bitcoin dominance is the beginning of the real altcoin bull market.

1. I did have some RLB tokens and its very small in value which I intend to hold till probably next year but I am not planning on adding another casino token anymore, I believe they are too risky.

2. I don't see any new casino tokens thats as good as Rollbit's very own token for now, even if there is any new one I doubt that I will want to invest, there are just so many new altcoins that I haven't purchased yet, the types that have better utilities than casino tokens.

3. All good coins and shit coins pumps in every bull market, so it doesn't matter which one you are holding, unless its a rug pull.
109  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Upon the death of a bitcoin user. on: April 12, 2024, 09:32:18 AM
I have come to stay in this community and thought of one thing which has been bothering me.
Relating from our traditional banks where a bank customer dies and all his assets remains unclaimed by his relatives. I was once told that there was a bank manager who withdrew funds from there customer dormant accounts hopefully that the owners are dead as those account has been dormant for years without any form of activity on the account, it happens when no relative knows about the account for them to lay claims.
Similarly to bitcoin what happens in the event of my dismissal since no relative knows about my investment. It doesn't really make sense if my family can't enjoy my wealth. Will it be lost or is it good to entrust someone incase I'm no longer there?

If Bitcoin holder died and lost access to the bitcoin it favors other Bitcoin investors, the asset doesnt really go to waste, it helps the scarcity of Bitcoin but with banks its a different story.

Even if the spouse go ahead and tries to claim the money that belongs to the deceased the bank can deny them all possibilities, unless the spouse are big people in the society, they will have to hire a lawyer and spend some money doing so too.

If I had to choose I would prefer to hold Bitcoin and if I died I would either take the supply off the Bitcoin Max supply or give it to someone very close to me, I will never leave any significant amount in my bank account.
110  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Solar powered mining only during sunlight and without batteries on: April 12, 2024, 08:04:58 AM
There's been numerous heated discussions comparing solar power and grid power.
One thing that I have never seen being discussed is using solar panels without batteries, and mining only during sunlight, and not grid tied.

Ideally, everything would work great when there is full sunlight and the solar panels are producing electricity at full capacity.

The part that I don't know is what might happen in the morning or evening when the sun is low in the sky and the solar panels are only generating a fraction of its capacity.

Just for argument's sake, let's say the mining rig is an Antminer S1 drawing 300-watts of power at 12VDC and two 12V 300-watt solar panels providing 600-watts of power during peak sunlight.

My question is, what will happen in the morning and evening when the solar panels are only producing, say, 100-watts of power? Will the Antminer S1 work at a much lower hash rate? Or could it be damaged due to insufficient power? What if during the day, dark clouds came rolling in and the power fluctuates between 50-watts and 400-watts?

Is there some kind of pre-built device or protection circuit that can regulate the power to at least 300-watts? I suppose a small battery can be added just to normalize fluctuations so that the regulator won't cycle the power too frequently.

Short answer.

You need batteries anyway.

Your hardware will keep going on and off without batteries.

I will advice you to go for cheap batteries if you plan to use grid and sun only, buy used batteries that still have some 65% life left in them, you won't be spending much on them, just to keep the hardwares running while the sun keeps fluctuating up and down..

Goodluck in your mining adventure.
111  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Be careful about some messages to your DM on: April 12, 2024, 07:07:44 AM
I hope you didn't try to hold a conversation in the least or if you did, the best sign if he's a scammer will be when he uses the lure of what you stand to earn, after you do few tasks for him, and such task might entail you divulge personal information without much thought.
If you read some previous responses, you'd understand that the sender of that message isn't actually a scammer and i don't think he would have pulled a fast one on OP even if he held a conversation with the sender. It was just someone who was confused about what was happening in the forum with "merits" on April 1st. That being said, it is obviously good to be sceptical about unsolicited PM's and take many of them as a scam, until proven otherwise, especially when coming from a user that is not reputable or one you are not familiar with.
Exactly, it’s still best just to ignore the message and won’t dare to reply most especially if the sender is not actually known in the forum, otherwise you’ll eventually fall on his trap without you knowing. I have also this feeling that the sender is not really a scammer, but more likely his message might only be misinterpreted. But for our own safety, just stick to what’s best for our DM account, ignore the message, and ignore the sender.
That PM looks a lot like someone who needs a partner in crime, I also don't think that he is a scammer, I don't have a problem replying to PMs until I figure out that it's going in a scamming direction.

It's not necessary to reply to PMs but you might never tell where a conversation is going, not all PMs are scam attempts but it's safer to ignore like you said, still a scam will be so easier to detect on this forum because whatever a stranger wants you to do must be on this forum not asking you to leave this forum and do something else.

True be told, if anyone wants to tell you something they should go straight to the point and they will never send you a link to visit or try to make you leave this forum into another private messaging app for texting.
112  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: You will lose more if you DCA without knowledge on: April 11, 2024, 10:17:37 AM
You can't lose if you DCA, the Knowledge you need is to DCA instead of investing all money into Bitcoin at once.

Do not invest money you will need soon, have a lot of patience, with Bitcoin, you only lose if you sell your Bitcoin for a lesser price.

A DCA investor is ultimately a winner, all they need after is some patience to hold the asset, the advantage of DCA is that you will have some good buying period and some flat buying period.

Bitcoin price isn't going to be the same as now in the coming week, there will be times you will buy at 68,000 and there might come times when you will buy at 58,000, the difference is your money will grab you better satoshis sometimes than the other times.
113  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Steelwallets and Airport Security - Potential Exposure Concerns on: April 11, 2024, 09:52:16 AM
It depends:

Normally the steel wallet will not be affected by the X-ray machines, it is an electronic storage device or a a kind of mini PC....

BUT : If you are unlucky and seen in the company of a suspected Terrorist or Kiddiefiddler who you met maybe on the flight and had a friendly conversation with.....THEN maybe the airport security will ask you to provide access to your steel wallet, just to make sure there are no naughty pics on it or terror plans.......

In some countries you can decline to provide the password but then will get locked up until you change your mind... all up to you Smiley

Hi Bobby,
the steelwallet is a simple metal plate with the phrase seed engraved on it, It does not have any electronic components.

My doubt arises as to whether the x-ray scanner can read the phrase seed, or whether an agent suspicious of the strange object could check it and read the words (even worse if he were to photograph it)

Dangerous, so dangerous.

There are always cameras everywhere, that makes the recovery seed not safe anymore, if I find myself in such a situation, It is time to move all my funds off that recovery seed into another wallet.

Another good reason to always have sending fee available in your crypto wallets for urgent matter like this.

I remember when a cousin of mine came into my home and I was out for a hour, when I got back I noticed someone entered my room, and since I have been hearing stuff about this cousin of mine when it comes to money, I quickly send all my assets from the wallet to another.

It was later he came to start asking questions about crypto coins and how to sell them, he had access to the recovery seed but he didn't know how to sell them, this was how I escaped then, and now I live far away from family members.
114  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: When you make mistakes, do not fail to take corrections. on: April 11, 2024, 08:19:38 AM
Make mistakes and also take corrections. This is one of the things i learnt in this forum as Newbie and it's helped me through my journey this far so I decided to create this thread to help encourage other new members. It's in our human nature to make errors, that's to say that they’re inevitable and bound to happen but the most important thing is to take corrections, learn from the mistakes, to avoid making more errors.

There are some errors that people make out of ignorance, for instance wrong quoting or posting on the wrong board, do not panic when you make such errors, normally as a Newbie you're here to learn and impact knowledge when you can therefore you should see those errors as a learning process. Also, there are members that would take it upon themselves to bring such errors to your notice and probably give you the necessary corrections, now that's where taking corrections comes in, do not panic it might lead you to make more errors while you're in a rush to correct yourself, take your time, take note of your mistakes so as not to make more similar ones in future and correct them carefully.

Sometimes you might feel you're making the right points, giving your opinions about some threads but do not feel threatened when someone quote you wrong, try to prove yourself right if you're sure of your points or take corrections if you discover they're right. Note that no one knows it all and there are lots of people on here that might be far more inteligent than you, so sometimes instead of arguing it's best to take corrections and learn.
In a world where most people are made to put their blames on others, its not going to be this easy for many.

Practice makes perfect and taking your mistakes as your responsibility is what many parents failed to teach their children, I have made all the mistakes in the book, the stupid ones and the not so stupid ones but I keep on coming back, taking all responsibility as my own.

This has no negative impact than creating you into a better version of yourself, you will be able to take any reasonable risk and embrace failure like it is nothing, and in the end, you will become successful in everything you do.

Get used to failure, mistakes and disappointment, this is life lessons that many people want to avoid, but its the way.
115  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: My s9 free electricity location... gone...sad.. on: April 11, 2024, 07:06:48 AM
OP, tell me that you have been holding your Bitcoin all this while since the last 3 years? If yes then it should be worth a lot, maybe by 2025 when BTC reach a new all time high?

I believe that 100k and up is possible, since you are running a single S9 and you have made some profit I suggest you should be few solar panels and LifeP04 battery to get that thing running.

I can't say you should change the location because its just one Asic miner, you should Starr thinking about paying the bills of your Grid power is very stable, its time to take responsibility, 3 years free mining is a lot already.
116  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How I almost become a millionaire on: April 10, 2024, 09:42:29 AM
In the year 2010,my best friend introduce me to cryptocurrency and he advice me to invest in bitcoin. I felt bitcoin was another ponzi scheme created by scammers to scam innocent people. Today my friend is a multi Millionaire. If only I had listened to his advice,I would have become a millionaire by now.

Many people had the same regret in 2014, 2017, and 2021, you think it's too late? You aren't thinking straight, there will be people regretting that they never bought Bitcoin in 2022 when the price was sitting at 17k, they are already regretting right now because Bitcoin is over 50k already, wait till 2025 ATH.

There is no point regretting the past, it's not coming back, instead, you should reshape your future by accumulating a few strong assets, like Bitcoin, and a few good altcoins, the next ATH will create a new set of crypto millionaires and I plan to be a part of them.

Take actions, and reap the reward later, there is still a chance now, and I believe that with the involvement of the ETFs, this could be the biggest bull market ever, start accumulating right now.
117  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you achieved anything from gambling on: April 10, 2024, 08:57:56 AM
The money that you sweat for will be very hard to spend anyhow, but if you make the money easily you will spend it easily, I have won some good money while gambling and I use some on Bitcoin investment and I use some to buy my needs, the achievement is not as great as when I invest in crypto projects.

I was able to spend thousands of dollars on my needs this year alone thanks to some crypto projects that already did wonders, but not a single penny was spent on things that I dont need.

I decided to keep gambling not because j haven't been able to get huge achievements but because it could be possible if I am lucky and because I am gaining other things while gambling too, like it is just another way to have some fun when I  am less busy.
118  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you believe in savings or investment on: April 10, 2024, 07:19:48 AM
saving money is actually a loss because the value of your money the purchasing power of your money will decrease due to inflation. because the value of inflation is always higher than the value of bank interest. so saving money is actually a loss not a gain.
So investing and saving is good and good which one is of course investing is better than saving.
iam preffer investment if compare saving
That is if the person holds on to the Fiat for a long period of time, I can remember my father doing the same when he was young like he told me, he was able to build his first house using a savings account and it worked, he bought some properties using savings.

Things have changed a lot today though, to build a house easily now requires a good amount of money and that can be done with investments instead of savings only.

Thanks to the existence of Bitcoin and crypto, investments have never been this better, I still save money today for some reasons, like emergencies and bill settlement but I am more into investment as it gives me better positivity in returns.
119  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are Bitcoin Runes and what do we need to know about them? on: April 10, 2024, 06:06:03 AM
Anything running on the Bitcoin network was made possible to grab attention, oh yes it's running via Bitcoin, it's happening even in the real world where once your business is successful, many will want to take a bit of the success using a new business that delivers nothing new compare to yours.

A relative who has been saying that he has a gem of a project for me mentioned runes and he said it will make him a millionaire in 2025, I just laugh very hard, it's possible though because sometimes those things that aren't making sense makes the most money in crypto but later they will end up in where they belong.

Runes are not necessary, we already have so many NFT projects in the crypto space and they are all craps but running on the Bitcoin network seems like the fool's game, the fool's money will surely come in but the end will be very ugly.
120  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: An AI-powered Twitter bot predicts Bitcoin’s price on: April 09, 2024, 11:09:02 AM
That bot isn't a time machine, stop trying so hard to make it look like one.

Even the best predictors in the crypto space are all based on past history and data, and there is room for something new to happen, which will wipe off every past history in the chart.

You can't always be right with Bitcoin, you can only me prepared for any possibility because it goes two sides either bull or bear, instead of trying to be a future reader it's wiser to be prepared for these two sides.

Every bots that are based on predicting the future will always fail, I am guessing that this is all about Bitcoin halving, but still nothing can predict the future, know this and know peace.

Good luck with your back-to-the-future bot.
