I mean it hasn't broken over 3 since like 2018, meaning that we are talking about something that failed to break ATH for the past 6+ years and counting, while many broke this year, and some in 2021, hell in 2021 it failed to break over 2 as far as I can remember.

The thing you need to think about is that this is a coin that has owners, and those owners can print as many as they want whenever they want, that should be enough of a reason for you to think how dangerous that could be. If you keep on thinking how dangerous it is, you will realize that you are holding something that can be decided by some person and not a lot of people all together.

We like decentralized coins, and this one literally has people who can reverse it, they have that power, they have the power to print as much as they want to themselves, and has done so last time they had to pay a fine, think about how screwed up that is. If you still want to hold, then it's your own business and I will not meddle with your investment, but I would highly suggest everyone to think twice about investing into something like this. It's much better to invest into something that will be a lot more decentralized, could give you better returns.

The profit and loss depend on your choice of which altcoin you have invested in. Many altcoins in the market don't pump even when Bitcoin goes up and such coins might not provide you the expected profit margin. There have also been times in the market when people bought quite a lot and later got nothing but losses, such as LUNA and LUNA Classic. A lot of people lost a lot of money in this project.

If you have selected good and healthy coins and bought them when the market was down and you have kept them safe and waiting for the time when the market will go higher, you will surely profit from such investments.

When a trade is done with knowledge and analysis, it gives you profit and when you wait and hold, you get more profit. I have also profited from altcoins many times and I have quite a few altcoins which have always been favourites. I trade on the ones I know well. The rest of altcoins I don't trade much because I don't know that much about them and I don't trust them that much.

If you want to really believe that XRP could be 4-5 then you can just believe that, you do not need anyone else's opinion on the matter. When people tell you that it may not be, and you still deny that and you still insist that it can happen, then there is no need to talk any further, I would suggest you buy XRP with everything you can, if you trust it so much. But if you really want an answer, x4 or so is the biggest you can expect from it, nothing more.

Because that Is what the owners would allow, then keep it down as well. They do not want you to get rich, they want to get rich. Look at 2021, while everything, even including bitcoin, peaked at x10 or more, XRP failed that, why? Why did it failed to go there? Why was this coin second ranked once upon a time, and slowly getting out of top ten now? Why did it lost so much rank? Why it failed to go up as much as others did?

If you check these, and see the prices, and the movements and how it did compared to the market, you will see why it won't go to 5 dollars. This is of course a suggestion, none of us knows what will happen, we are just making a guess here and if we are right then it won't go up, but if you really believe in it, you are free to do so.

$2 tops if it will be a really good run for it. I don't believe that it can reach more than that.

XRP has always been a shitcoin! One would have imagined after winning the lawsuit against them, the price should have skyrocketed to at least $1 - $2 but annoyingly the reasonable digits still stay behind the decimal point after the zero. I think is time for people to just stop being too optimistic about the coin, Especially since it was allegedly linked to BRICS adaptation of using it as one of the modes to transact among each other on a global scale.

The best any trader can do is just use it for swing trading! buy low and sell high.

That's such a big period, though. I hope your investment pays off and you will reap such a long-term boon for yourself! I never would be able to see some coins in my portfolio waiting for their time, but your patience is commendable if that's how it's going to go for real.
