101  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you prefer the crypto online gambling or regular fiat casinos gambling? on: May 15, 2024, 06:51:43 AM
It will always be crypto gambling because I can play whenever and wherever I want. I can play or bet a penny, and even if it takes longer, no one will bother me. As for physical casinos, it's a no for me. I won't play and will never play. I can't even control myself when I'm playing in a crypto casino, so how much more difficult would it be in a traditional casino? Also, it means I'm going to use money out of my pocket, which I don't do in crypto. That's what I'm trying to avoid.

it seems the crypto gambling it's made easier for you, it's your choice and the winning it's more better then the physical gambling. But their are some people they haven't even heard of crypto gambling and their are some they have heard of it but they don't know how it's works, now the crypto gambling first you'll have to convert your coins but with the physical gambling you don't have to convert anything. All you've to do it's just to take your money and place bet. And some countries the physical gambling are much more easier to them but their are some countries the physical gambling seems like stress to them, I do prefer the crypto gambling just with the increases when someone wins.
Physical casinos are popular in countries that lack basic facilities which makes online casinos strive. Some countries lack basic amenities like internet facilities and power supply people will prefer to patronize physical casinos. Online casinos also require some level of basic education to be able to navigate the websites while one can always seek help from attendants in physical casinos in case they don't understand anything.

Gamblers who are frequent crypto casinos are those who earn cryptocurrencies. I don't think many people will convert their fiat to crypto because they just want to use it for gambling. The transaction fee and process of converting to fiat and depositing it in a crypto casino account might be discouraging.
102  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I returned my father's property to my father through Bitcoin investment. on: May 15, 2024, 04:02:07 AM

Definitely for Bitcoin newbies investing in Bitcoin at the right time can definitely change your fortune overnight.
Using the word overnight is not correct. Bitcoin is not an investment that will make you rich overnight. You were just lucky to invest when the price was down and the time you sold was when the price increased. It is better to have a long-term plan when buying Bitcoin since you cannot forecast accurately how the market will react at a given time. Newbies should do their research before investing and the DCA buying pattern is highly recommendable.

Sister's wedding cost father about 2000 thousand dollars and I invested the remaining two thousand dollars with my father's permission in September 2023.
Your tradition is very different from ours. In my country, it is the husband-to-be family that spends for the marriage, You have to buy all the materials and the bride's price, and the bride's parents will not spend a penny. I also read recently that a bride can be intimidated or even attacked if her family doesn't pay a reasonable amount.
103  Economy / Reputation / Re: Charles-Tim reported posts on: May 15, 2024, 03:33:36 AM
Thanks. Reporting is not an achievement but I feel good to report those scam posts. Sometimes I will even post under it for people like newbies not to fall for the scam. I hate scam than spam but spam are also unwanted.
Members like you help keep the forum clean from garbage. The reason why this forum has continued to flourish is because it has maintained its quality for many years. If not for members who dedicate time to report these scams and spam posts, the quality would have dropped over time. I checked my record of reported posts and it is not even 1% close to yours. But you have just motivated me to step up my game and help keep the forum clean. Keep up the good work Tim, you will soon get to the 10,000 mark.
104  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Understanding cryptocurrency on: May 13, 2024, 05:19:20 PM
In everything there is always a beginner, in political way there are beginner even in the crypto world 🌍 we still have a beginner, so as a beginners in crypto you should know how it works first before you get into it, a guy was complaining that he lost in trading crypto, and he is telling some of he's friend not to go into crypto just because he lost and he didn't follow the signal, I just want to say that you need to understand how it works first before you start, thank you.
The problem with most beginners is that they were introduced to cryptocurrencies as a get-rich-quick project. They usually get their information from social media where these influencers try to cajole them to invest in a shitcoin. In some cases, these influencers pose with flashy cars and big houses claiming that they got all of them from investing in the crypto project. Out of greed, these people will put in their money only to lose it. Currently, there has been an increase in adverts in the crypto industry promising to make people rich from the bull run. The first thing I think newbies should fight is greed and the next phase is to do proper research before investing in any project.
105  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: May 13, 2024, 05:04:33 PM
I mean they are Real Madrid, they always end up being great and I do not think that it is going to change all that much, we should probably see the situation as in their favour easily. I am going to end up betting on them and I do not expect Dortmund to have anything that would look good for them.

This is of course something that will get them to just fight even harder, I do not think that it is zero chance for them to get a win, because it is the finals and they have come thus far which means that they shown themselves to be a force to reckon with, but to be fair we are talking about Real Madrid here, they get the win they need one way or another. I said the same thing about City last season, and yes Inter played well but in the end they lost.
Based on both clubs' quality, Real Madrid will surely win the match with an average margin (2-0). They have the best players, coach and favourable UCL history. In 2002 Bayer Leverkusen and Real Madrid met in the finals which was played in Hampden Park in Glasgow, Scotland. It was a spectacular match that produced one of the best goals in UCL history. A left-footed shot from the French maestro Zidane made the Spanish side win the game by 2-1. Currently, Ral have more stars that can defeat any team in the world.

The only way Leverkusen might win this game is if a Real Madrid player gets a red card or they make a mistake that will make them conceive some cheap goals. The red card was the main reason why PSG won against Barcelona and Manuel Neuer's mistake was the main cause of the defeat to Real Madrid. So I am not entirely righting off the German side.
106  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: May 13, 2024, 04:48:07 PM
Mourinho likes to play with defensive tactics. Bayern Munich have young players like Jamal Musiala and Matias Tel. I don't think Mourinho would be good for them. Also, Mourinho's tactics won't suit Harry Kane's style of play. I think Mourinho is not the right manager for Bayern Munich. In fact, there was a time when I thought he would be the right man. Because the German Bundesliga was a piece of cake for Bayern Munich. But Xabi Alonso and Bayer Leverkusen put an end to that.
Mourinho gradually changed his defensive style of play at Roma compared to when he was at Chelsea and Inter Milan. He has also improved on his relationship with players as we saw in his last club. My view is that his time has passed and he should move to average clubs. Uncommon old tacticians and young coaches now rule the coaching world. Young coaches who have fresh ideas and a taking over the coaching sphere and any coach who fails to move with this advancement become outdated.

The Portuguese tacticians need some time off to evaluate their strategies and learn from some successful coaches. Mourinho is always in a rush to get a new coaching job which I think shouldn't be the case. With his current level, I feel he will not be successful in Bayern Munich because the club might be too big for him to handle.
107  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Lockbit ransomware admin has been identified on: May 13, 2024, 04:31:48 PM
Finally, the admit of one of the most powerful ransomware has been identified and his name is Dmitry Khoroshev aka "LockBitSupp" and "putinkrab". Initially authorities doesn't have a name for him, but after many months of tracking this ransom, finally it was revealed to the public already including images of him.
Lockbit has caused so much harm to individuals and organisations. Exposing the brain behind this criminal organisation is a big achievement for these law enforcement agencies because it will reduce the operation of LockBitSupp and his criminal gang. He would hide and seek other means to continue his criminal activities.

I come to this topic, and after looking at the photo I think: “What, is it really Russian again?” Smiley

"Khoroshev, AKA LockBitSupp, who thrived on anonymity and offered a $10 million reward to anyone who could reveal his identity, will now be subject to a series of asset freezes and travel bans."
He is fortunate that he is a Russian national so he wouldn't be extradited to the US or any other European country. He would have to restrict his travelling to Russia and other friendly nations. I am sure his assets in Russia will be safe but others abroad will be held by the state.
108  Economy / Economics / Re: Choosing Between the IMF, World Bank, or Direct Borrowing on: May 12, 2024, 04:21:16 PM
Question
How does a country determined  which of these organizations to approach for funds. If these institutions are always availed to receive. Some countries are not going through these structures rather they borrow directly from the bank of another country. Which is better?
The country will have to consider the conditions of the loan to determine which one is more friendly. Some international lending bodies give some conditions that are usually difficult to meet. There are some loans with conditions that can make the borrower lose some basic assets in their country if they default. Another important consideration is the interest on the loans and the repayment plans. Some organizations offer lower interest rates. But these nations shouldn't look only at the interest rate but the conditions. Chinese loans usually give low-interest loans but the conditions of the loan are usually draconian.
109  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does even freezing a customer's account curb irresponsible gambling? on: May 12, 2024, 03:41:39 PM
An approach would be interesting where the website would try to contact the user in order to understand the situation. If something is found, it would be interesting to freeze the account. I believe this way would be the most friendly way possible.

It's not happening in real scenario, casinos are operating without feelings, so they'll not suspect gamblers that are addicted or just wasting money. What they'll suspect if the gambler is cheating because it's taking their money, not when they are making money from the gamblers. The reason of the business is to generate money, they would love if we keep putting money and loss it, not the other way around.
I have never heard someone complain that their account was frozen because the casino suspects that they are overgambling. Most of these casinos are only interested in making money because they also have to cover operating costs and make profits. My experience in physical casinos is also the same where many gamblers keep chasing losses aggressively and there is caution from the operators.

If the casino is not new and it can't be said that it has a good reputation in the field of the gambling business industry, it can be said that the gamblers who can do this issue have nothing against it, whether their fund is big or small in the casino platform.
I subscribe to your view that it is only a reputable casino that cares about the well-being of customers that will consider blocking such an account for irresponsible gambling. The terms of service will cover the reasons that an account will be frozen, so the gambler will have to refer to the document to confirm if he violated any law.
110  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: May 12, 2024, 02:57:43 PM
Manchester United vs Arsenal match will be interesting to watch.

We all know Manchester United has a bad record, even though the match will held in Old Trafford, but I'm sure people think Arsenal will win this match. Even the bookies listed Arsenal as a heavy favorite lol.

I would take a risk to bet both teams to score - No, the odds is quite juicy @2.36
This is an important game for both teams. Arsenal will need to win this game to keep their hope alive to win the EPL while Manchester United needs this win to be able to keep fighting for an Europa competition ticket. United will be without two main players Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford. Fernandes has been an important player but his absence usually affects the club's performance adversely. United would have to depend on some unfamiliar players like Amad Diallo, Sofyan Amrabat, and Scott McTominay in this game. Arsenal is fortunate not to have injury problems with Takehiro Tomiyasu and Bukayo Saka recovering from slight injuries. Arsenal will win this game based on the current form of both clubs. They deserve to win the EPL this season.
111  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Chased loss, got it back and lost everything. on: May 12, 2024, 02:21:49 PM
Anyone here familiar with this kind of scenario on the title? Just recently saw a compulsive gambler diary which he manage to recover everything when he chased loss then later on he loss it all.

Reading this guy confession https://www.gamblingtherapy.org/forum/topic/compulsive-gambler-chased-loss-got-it-back-then-lost-everything-again/ sometimes remind me of myself when I’m still not that fully taking control my gambling habits. I’m sure other players can relate to the part that you still keep playing after recovering your losses for a hope to win a little bit before you leave.
Read the guy's story and it was indeed pathetic. He has consistently tried his best to avoid gambling but addiction is such a strong feeling that can make someone think irrationally. When the feeling is triggered, it will take an uncommon dedication to stop that feeling. I have been addicted to something else not gambling so I can phantom how strong the feeling is.

Money is involved in gambling, that's why it is important to control it to avoid debt. If you don't control your gambling habit, it will lead to a financial crisis which is not a good condition. The fear of becoming broke or in debt has always guided me to follow my gambling budget. And the knowledge that you cannot pursue losses and successfully win the house has been my motivation not to pursue losses.
112  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A question to all the people that have invested before? on: May 12, 2024, 01:53:42 PM
A question to all of you that have invested in Bitcoin before, what does it look like? Because I know there are so many people that want to get into it, but they fill is not real, so I want to get some ideas from anybody that know how it's work please 🙏.
You can invest in Bitcoin in mainly two ways which are as a long-time holder or trader. Those who keep Bitcoin for a long period until the price goes up are usually long-term investors. While traders buy and sell based on daily, weekly, or monthly predictions. Investing in Bitcoin is just the same thing as putting money into other businesses. The only difference is that you need to understand the Bitcoin ecosystem before investing.

If you are a long-term investor, you just need to seek a means of acquiring Bitcoin, maybe from an exchange or P2P and keep the money safe on a decentralized open-source wallet. A hardware wallet will be a better option if you can afford it. The next phase is to learn how to keep your investment safe. You would have to keep the coin for a long time until the price gets to the level you want it before you sell and collect your profit.
113  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy BTC sold for 16 BTC-1 mil USD on: May 11, 2024, 08:26:01 PM
people could actually buy collections for the sake of collecting, perhaps out of admiration, but there are those that buy for the sake of saving their money through collections, you see them buy many of these collections stack them for the future rather than having those money sitting in bank accounts where eyes could easily notice their networth. This is just how some of these wealthy people could choose to store their wealth against the future and  they can always sell any whenever they have a demand for bulksum of money and the chances are that the could sell at a price 2x of what they bought it.
There is no certainty that the price of this artwork will appreciate in the future. Sina Estavi bought Twitter Co-founder, Jack Dorsey's first tweet as an NFT at the price of $2.9 million because he thought the price would skyrocket in the future. When he wanted to sell it the highest bidder priced it for $277. This example doesn't dispute the fact that other NFTs' value have increased.

Some NFT analysts believe that people buy these NFTs artwork to build brands around them. They gave an
example of the Bored Ape. This NFT artwork has been used by many companies to brand products. Since this artwork is popular business products can be branded and promoted with these NTFs.
114  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: They put an end to online gambling: what do you think it's going to happen? on: May 11, 2024, 07:32:50 PM
Earlier this morning I was going to work in a bus I over heard, some one complaining very badly that if the government tries to put an end to gambling. That many people will die in hungry with this our economy which nothing is working, no work for people food are at higher amount in their and some people are benefiting from gambling this days, that mostly him his benefiting from gambling.
Maybe you are from a third-world nation where there is a high rate of unemployment which has made people see gambling as a major source of income. I have also heard people say that it was gambling that is sustaining many people in my country. Except there is research that backs this claim, I don't think it is correct. More people are losing than those who are winning. Gambling companies are racking in big profits while gamblers are just winning a small percentage of the profit.

That with $200 he can stake and win about $100000 daily something that you won't even struggle to get, they can't even pay someone at work monthly up to that amount. So if their is no more online gambling that means definitely there won't be no more gambling at all. So how will you cope in your country if eventually they put an end to online gambling?
Before even thinking of winning you need to earn money to gamble. If you don't have a job, you might end up engaging in crime to gamble. Anybody who sees gambling as a full-time job will suffer from lack and want because wins from betting are unstable and unpredictable. If the government stops online betting, one would have to switch to physical gambling. Although it will be difficult to switch we would still have to gamble.
115  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When did you realize you need to be a responsible gambler so you can continue ? on: May 11, 2024, 06:59:38 PM
We all know that we cannot play for a long time without being responsible players; we could go crazy, or we could lose all our money; at some point, you have to realize that you need to play responsibly, so I created this poll and this discussion to pick your reasons and explain it.
Before I started gambling I have been around core gamblers. I have seen responsible and irresponsible gambling and its effects. I have seen people gamble with shoes, watches, and clothing because they were addicted to gambling or chasing losses. There are times when a fight breaks out between gamblers because of irresponsible gambling.

I have also been around some of the finest and responsible gamblers whom I admired. These set of gamblers have control over how much they spend on gambling. With this experience, it was now up to me to make my choice and I decided to be responsible from the onset. Although there are times when I gamble irresponsibly in most cases I have always been a responsible gambler.
116  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Cartier jewelry heir arrested for laundering drug money with USDT on: May 11, 2024, 03:36:02 PM
Well, you understand the meaning of this article. The main enemy is USDT!
Money whether decentralized or centralized could be used by criminals to engage in illegal activities. But I get your point, the government usually showcases stablecoins as a currency that reduces criminal transactions.

It was a stupid thing for them to launder USDT, they're basically just using a digital dollar with that one. No wonder that their money laundering scheme was foiled, the only saving grace was those shell companies and the lie about running a software and tech company. Mighty stupid of these people to do this heinous scheme, this is the very reason why the innocent people get caught in the crossfire of the authority's battle against money laundering, now we can't enjoy crypto more than ever before because of these evil people doing this thing. Good thing that they've got arrested though, it's high time that the rich would feel the hammer of justice.
Shell companies are usually used to avoid tax and hide wealth. These criminals assume that using these companies and USDT will complicate the process of tracking the criminal transactions. I just wonder what an heir to a billion-dollar company will still be engaging in criminal activities. This is proof that greedy people are never contended.
117  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why Bitcoin Price is Down Today? on: May 11, 2024, 02:53:14 PM
Bitcoin's recent price decline can be attributed to a combination of economic uncertainty, regulatory concerns, and market sentiment. Factors such as inflation fears, cautious remarks from Federal Reserve officials, and regulatory uncertainties have led to a sell-off in Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. Market sentiment and investor behavior also play a significant role in driving price fluctuations. Despite short-term volatility, long-term fundamentals, including adoption and institutional interest, remain bullish for Bitcoin and the broader cryptocurrency market.
Do you think these are the reasons?
The market can be down due to various reasons but if there is any specific reason then in that case a big crash is seen in the market. But the market is still in a good enough position.  A major crash is yet to be seen here so I consider such market movements to be normal so far. Bitcoin or other crypto coins are not stable and their price is not bound to go up, so there is no need to panic. Bitcoin is a powerful crypto coin and I see no reason to fear it
Volatility is the nature of cryptocurrencies. The fall in the price of Bitcoin is not new this move is highly expected. It is predicted that the price will drop before the main bull run will start in earnest. Only traders are concerned about the short-term decline in price, hodlers don't care about this trend. Most times the reason for this volatility is economic or financial policies or sentiment in the US. If there are predictions of increased interest rates, unfavorable regulatory policies, or inflation in the US, the Bitcoin market usually responds negatively to it. And the reason is that there is usually an increase in selloffs due to FUD.

And if you think $60k is a low price, then let me tell you it can drop huge, the last time it hit the ATH went up to $64k and then it went down all the way for the next two years until it hit the lowest value of $14k, so, $60k isn't low, it still pretty high, i wouldn't even recommend buying now because the crash is inevitable.
Although it is risky, people can still buy at this price because Bitcoin will still reach a new ATH after the halving. It is expected that a few months after the halving the price will still appreciate. Any risk taker can still buy and keep till the end of the year or early next year.
118  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Nearly All FTX Creditors Will Get 118% of Their Funds Back in Cash on: May 10, 2024, 05:49:18 PM
To be honest, it doesn't matter whether they'd add interest to the refund. What matters is that they give the whole refund and everything that's added is a bonus for the trouble that they've caused. What the victims need is assurance that they're going to get their money back no matter what and since it's already in the court, the next thing is hopefully that the refund process won't take long so that the victims will get their money back because it is rightful theirs and they deserve to have it again.
The good thing is that the company has agreed to refund affected customers. These FTX investors are fortunate because many victims of the fall of centralised crypto service providers didn't get their money back. According to reports they are just waiting for the court order for them to start the process of implementation. I also hope they get back their money because many people had plans for it, and most of these plans were abandoned due to bankruptcy. It took many years for Mt Gox victims to get back their funds, I am just hoping that it will take less time for these refunds to happen.
119  Other / Meta / Re: Change username on: May 10, 2024, 05:40:07 PM
Hi all,
Just wanted to know if it'd be possible to change the username?
Best!

Some members have successfully changed their usernames. Most of the names that were changed were high-ranking members. I assume that they gave a genuine reason for the change of name request and in most cases, it is associated with maintaining privacy. You have made about 84 posts, that's big and you have earned some merit, so it might not be easy to abandon the account. It will be better to create a new account but if you are really desperate to change your user name you can send PM to moderators and keep waiting for their response. There is no time prediction for their response, you will have to wait.
120  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: May 10, 2024, 03:19:35 PM
It is crystal clear that Arteta has done so well for the Gunners, getting them to this very position and form they are now, many will say he deserves to be the main man to be awarded as the manager of this season but it should be given to the Aston Villa coach Unai Emery because he did what nobody expected and I know many won't say the award should be given to him but lets see it this way, a manager who only spent just 2 seasons with the The Villans and he qualified them for the Conference League even though they were knocked out last night, you'd agree with me that they did their best and in the EPL they are also doing well with them sitting on the 4th position on the table, with how they have been performing I think they might be in the champion league next season while clubs like Manchester UTD and Chelsea won't be in that competition. I think Unai Emery deserves the award more than any other manager that have been nominated including Arteta, after all Arsenal will win the EPL title.

Jurgen Klopp would have been my candidate but the recent loss of form by Liverpool which made them lose the race for the EPL title and the unfortunate knockout from the Europa League. With a relatively low budget when compared with clubs like Chelsea and Manchester City Kloop had managed to build a competitive team. He has won the Carabao Cup despite the injuries of the majority of his key players. Unai Emery has turned the fortunes of Aston Villa and might likely lead them to the UCL which is an uncommon feat. He has achieved this success without top-class players. But if Arsenal manages to win the EPL title Mikel Arteta will automatically become the best coach. The young coach has achieved more than what his age mates are doing in the coaching field.
