101  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Halving Event [2024], Reality! on: April 25, 2024, 02:37:40 PM
I went through all the replies on my thread and unfortunately, it looks like none of them can offer any solution. Sadly, no one here wants to think out of the box, it is a known fact that Ordinals have jeopardized the way Bitcoin transactions used to be before. They will do such spamming in the future unless the developers think again about what they did and come up with a solution. This is not what I expected and envisioned about Bitcoin neither did Satoshi, do you think he/group thought that such a situation would happen in the future?

The solution isn’t simple as you think because it requires community consensus. The first will be to increase the block size css this will allow more transactions per block and also increases the throughput. This solution has long ago be abolished as many think it will cause the network security reduction, that’s why we even got to the place of using Segwit addresses.

The other solution is actually fixing the exploit in the protocol that allows ordinals transaction into the network. This solution is widely debated on because some people are of the opinion that it is share censorship and as such is going against the Bitcoin protocol, while Others are saying it is not. To me the reason why this is still a problem is because some set of users are definitely gaining from this exploit and a consensus will not be reached easily except it persists to an extremely unbearable degree
102  Other / Meta / Re: Topics on reputation board should not have lock feature on: April 25, 2024, 01:54:50 PM
I don't think it's nice for users to be restricted in locking threads on any board on the forum.

In a general perspective it is good because a thread getting locked actually stops further spamming from members example of such threads is the ones with questions about a thing, once the purpose of its creation is achieved then it should be locked. I know you will say the posts can be deleted but that won’t stop the bumping of the thread still.

As for this current case I don’t think moderators will actually go over the wish of the OP in that thread to open it. So for cases like this I think it will be best to create another thread redirecting people that one to discuss there and possibly clear things there. If at all a strong conclusion is reached by the members can’t the initial wrong accusation thread be reported for deletion before any one can see it in the future?

No matter how many times people said he turned it around this season, I will always include Maguire to the "to go list" for myself. Rashford is in fact more deserving of staying. I agree that Antony needs to go, that's the number one, then I would send Maguire, then I would send Casemiro, and only after that I would send Rashford.

I feel like there are so many things that needs to be done, we need to consider all of that, and we could only make money that way. I know that it is not that easy, and should take time, but we need to make sure that we are going to make some profit eventually if we know what we are doing. This is why I believe that we are going to end up with a much better result, we should be careful about all of that.

I don’t see why you placed Maguire well ahead of Rashford in terms of clear out because I have not practically seen anything he has done. Yes Rashford is short of confidence and consistency but that stops him from tracking back to defend with others or closing down the midfield to help his mates. If we talk about only this two players and who needs to go first I will say Rashford because he looks like a player that isn’t interested in playing football with a 400k wage, Maguire has shown intent or zeal of someone having the team at the back of his mind and would be a great squad player rather than a first team player.

But should United decided on a larger clear out i will leave only this players; Bruno Fernandez, Kobbie Mainoo, Alejandro Gernacho, Diogo Dalot, Wan Bissaka, Mason Mount, Martinez, Onana, Hojlund and Amad
104  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: April 24, 2024, 10:37:56 PM
It is becoming more real and I can say that it is now a reality that Liverpool is going trophyless this season. This season is quiet interesting because I way expected that the manager of Liverpool will wave goodbye to the club by giving them major title of English Premier League or Europa League. Certainly they had the opportunity to feature in both but he did not make his permutations well. I wonder how the boys will feel and how himself will feel at the end of the season. It is clear that Manchester City is the most favorite currently the win the English Premier League because Arsenal as we know can never be trusted.

Wayne Rooney actually did said it earlier today that the best parting gifts that the Evertonian’s will give Klopp is ending his title hopes as per rivals and that just went on to happen today. I personally think it is over for them to win anything this season again, from a quadruple anticipation to going trophyless. The title challenge now is between Manchester city and Arsenal. Yes City have an advantage over Arsenal because they have more or less top clubs in their remaining fixtures. But it doesn’t matter the games or clubs they face now as almost all clubs are same in terms of performance. That’s why I haven’t rule out City dropping points yet out.

In the other hand Manchester United has also lost their chances of going to the European competition this season. There fixtures these days are easy, assuming they did well in the past month, they would have done well to go Europe.

Manchester United Blew away the opportunity to claim top four right from the draw against Brentford. A win would have given them momentum and also closed gaps. Then they went on to lose and draw to Chelsea and Liverpool respectively from a winning position. They were carried away with the belief that a fifth place would be given a champions league too but sadly it wasn’t
105  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: If all your wages were paid in USDT, would you accept it? on: April 24, 2024, 10:08:43 PM
My salary is not in US dollars. I wish it were though. If given the option, yes, I would ask to be paid in USDT after all, devaluation of my currency has made it pretty useless. I am not going to accept USDT only because of its ease with cross-border payments, I will accept it because when compared to my currency, it is more stable and a better store of value.

The plan is simple though if this were to happen. And it is, get paid in USDT, convert a portion of it to bitcoin and send to airgapped wallet, convert the other to my currency and use for every day transactions since I can't use crypto yet for it.

I predicted this is the reason why some people will accept the USDT payment, the continuous devaluation of their currency but if you ask me the only thing about accepting this USDT is cross border transactions which are seemingly easier with them. But the saying that their currency devalues shouldn’t be compare, because to me you will need to convert again to that currency again to buy stuffs for upkeep. So to me as long you’re not saving the money then your currency is better. As you can also do same thing as with the USDT with it. Should you decide to invest then you can simply just buy bitcoin from exchanges again
106  Economy / Speculation / Re: When do we really note it for Bitcoin ATH on: April 24, 2024, 09:55:02 PM

Whenever it comes, it won't be a problem for me at all because I'm still very relaxed with the way things are now and would be happy if I could experience a new ATH, whether it's $100k or more. I'm just thinking about how fees can return to normal so that all business can run smoothly.
I don't think it has any influence with some of the previous ATHs that have occurred. Once things happen, nothing will be able to stop them.

The highest price is the ATH, so as long as bitcoin price continues to beat a new high then it is the ATH. Just like you it is better people don’t get to focus on the next all time but rather do your research to predict how high the market can go or if you can not do same research due to lack of knowledge, you might as well look at past history of the price of bitcoin and then accumulate. When it’s down to taking of profit, my advice is one should just set a price target that looks realistic for them and take profits there. Waiting for a certain high price could create a missed opportunity.

I will be confident to say most investors that took profit in the last bull run many of them didn’t take it at that $69k most would have taken their profits before then, which to me is still good rather than regretting not taking any at all due to waiting for ATH
107  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Local Board Moderator; Your honest feedback here. on: April 24, 2024, 05:47:28 AM
This needs no thread or requires confirmation from us because you’re the perfect fit for the job. Someone that has forum experience, reputation and on top of that has been up doing the work even without been assigned is a perfect fit for it. But sincere you humility actually makes you to ask, I will say i throw in my biggest support for you, the local board needs cleansing and the Sheriff is the perfect match for it. So I hope Theymos gets us the approval.

This is one of the two major things that this local board lacks, the second been a merit source; which I don’t know maybe it comes attached with a moderator, but if it doesn’t then getting this approved alone still signifies our messages are well received by Theymos and sooner or later we will also get that approval too.
108  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: April 24, 2024, 05:12:45 AM
A draw is never a good result for Arteta in this game, is like playing against Sheffield UTD and they end up in a draw, that would be a disaster for the club. They have other games that might be easy but Manchester City have the advantage over the Gunners. Imagine City with 73pt (currently) and winning their 2 games they would be having 79pts with Arsenal on 77pts it would make City be at the top of the table and you know when the Citizens top the league table there's no going down, that won't be nice for the Gunners they won't want that to happen but I feel the Gunners will win the league with goals and not points.

Yeah Arsenal do not have any fixtures to actually allow to slip up, a draw will automatically take them out of the league competition. They currently have four for matches to play let me say four more finals to play, they go to Tottenham hotspur there rivals for a derby which both teams need to win. Tottenham themselves need this win to continue their quest of qualifying for the champions league this season. Losing this one will automatically mean they are out of it. Also the game against Bournemouth is a very tricky one as they are also a team in form. Then to relegation threatened Everton who needs points to stay up. But before then the game with struggling Manchester United is still there and they can just afford to lose just as United wouldn’t want to offer them the title just like that. Put this things together, the win today against fellow London rivals is a better revenge and will help boost their morale more
109  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏆 The Emirates FA Cup - Season 2023/2024 on: April 20, 2024, 06:39:27 PM
Yeah right, a $38M player with 8 years of contract and still nervous when 1 by 1 with the goalkeeper in a very crucial match like this.
It would be a goal if he dared to kick the ball, Mudryk or Sterling would have scored in that position.
Not sure why Pochettino still let him play in the 2nd half.

Jackson has lots of goals this season but could have been easily in the top goal scorer category if he by any chance actually converted the chances created for him. This is the third game this season between Chelsea and Manchester city which I think even with Chelsea having a bad season they have easily won. Manchester city might be the kings of the land but they usually fall short against Chelsea every time.

Chelsea as usual this season blew their only chance of a silverware this season yet again due to poor conversion of  chances. They seriously need a new clinical striker next season because with player like Jackson leading their attack I don’t think they will go anywhere or win anything. Aside that the manager if by any chance remains with the club next season needs to address the palyers selfishness in front of goal, because both Madueke and Chilwell that came on showed that act today
110  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: April 20, 2024, 06:30:18 PM

Have they actually lost a match so far in the Europa League?
I don’t remember them losing any matches in the Europa League this season, to be honest. I think if they are actually interested, they might end this season staying unbitten as well which will be another record. They have already been able to win the Bundesliga title for the first time ever. I think they are not worried about the match against Dortmund too much. Because they should be much more interested in winning the Europa League competition and also the DFB pokal. The biggest concentration from them is probably going to the Roma match in my opinion. Both of the first leg and the second leg.

No they haven’t lost any game yet since the start of the season and that’s why the total number of matches they are unbeaten is 44. If you look at the league matches played already or in total of what they will play it is not up-to that 44. The draw against West Ham was what gave them that record. And as a club I think Xabi Alonso is targeting not only going unbeaten in the league but also across Europe and the entire season. Should they do this, he will certainly have not only cemented his reputation in Bayer Leverkusen and Bundesliga but in Europe as the first manager to do that.

So I personally think they will gear up against Dortmund who them selves need more points to stay in the champions league, oh I forgot the new champions league coefficient has given Bundesliga a new slot making the 5th place team in the league automatic qualification to the Champions league. But still the game will be heavily contested by the two teams
111  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: April 20, 2024, 03:45:23 PM

Burnley, Sheffield United and Luton are fighting hard to get out of the relegation zone and of course 3 points must be their main target today, Burnley Is currently ranked 19th and is only 2 points apart if they are able to maintain their win today because Luton is also in other match, currently trailing by 2 goals from Brentford, when I wrote this post, Sheffield United managed to score 1 goal in the 52nd minute through a hamer and made the temporary score 1-2 for Burnley to win.

This three clubs Burnley, Sheffield United and Luton are clubs that I have come to conclusion will get the fall. Sheffield United losing today to Burnley all but confirmed there relegation status for me, because the have a 10 points difference between them and Nottingham Forest who sit on the 17 place in the table. With just five games left I don’t see them pulling that fight off. As for Burnley and mostly Luton they have a faint of hope because the difference between them and Everton and Nottingham Forest sitting on 16 and 17 place respectively is just 2 and 1 points, although the two other clubs both have a game at hand to play next. The points deduction that was placed on Nottingham Forest and Everton was suppose to be a life line for the newly promoted clubs but right now they haven’t made use of it as both clubs punished looks to battle out the season not getting relegated again, which to me will be a remarkable achievement for them.
112  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin halving security tips for first timers. on: April 20, 2024, 10:46:06 AM
Not true so because halving contributes to increase Bitcoin adoption and demand.

It means Bitcoin blocks will possibly used in bigger size than before the halving to its maximum size. Demands increase so there will be more chances that there will be less space unused in future blocks.

It will cause Bitcoin transaction fee more expensive because there are limited transactions for each Bitcoin block. Transaction fee is calculated with a same formula before and after halving but paid fee will be different because there is possibility that people will have to use higher fee rate for their transactions.

What I mean was that the block size will still be the same which is the normal 4 million weight units (as per segwit soft fork) the transaction volume or weight in the block is not something we can say will increase just like that, it is still a speculation that the demand will increase after halving. Also the increase or congestion of transactions are still speculations we can’t still be certain that people will make more transactions.
113  Other / Beginners & Help / Bitcoin halving security tips for first timers. on: April 20, 2024, 06:04:52 AM
Yes this is just another thread on bitcoin halving but instead of speculating on the price I will like to warn newbies or probably members who are just experiencing their first bitcoin halving.

First the bitcoin halving only cuts the block subsidy which is also know as the block reward into halve (this time from 6.25bitcoin to 3.125 bitcoin) and nothing special or different changes again from the way the past blocks were mined. The size of the block and also how fees are calculated and payed are still the same.

Secondly which is for Naive newbies, there’s no special giveaway or airdrops that is accompanied with this event. Be very wary of scammers who ask you to connect your wallets to some sites to receive airdrops for celebration of the halving, it’s a phishing scam. I wouldn’t say other shitcoins won’t run airdrops but it will be risky to connect your wallet to any site for airdrops.

Thirdly Excess or high transaction fees payed in the past blocks are not returned to you after this halving, it is also scammer tactics to get access to your wallet.

Lastly Bitcoin halving doesn’t coherently means that the bitcoin price will skyrocket, yes base on past events they do go up some months after the halving, but that doesn’t mean you should go and invest an amount that you can not afford to lose. Past events are just speculations and do not reflect what will happen in the future.

Stay safe, accumulate your bitcoin and secure your wallet properly. May the pump be with us.
114  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: April 19, 2024, 11:22:25 PM
I think Liverpool players are some how feeling bad when Salah made that decision of leaving the side and they're making it look as if without him the team won't move forward, ok at the end of this season Klopp will be leaving so how are they going to make things work without him? Klopp's announcement made some of the players to delay their contract signing like Van Dijk and Alexander-Arnold who are waiting to see how or what the future will look like, and now Salah on the mix, is not going to be easy for Liverpool next season.
I agree with you on what you said about good players come and go with the man Salah as a selfish player. Mo easily get frustrated whenever he's not on the score sheet or having an assist, when it happens that's when he start acting up, being selfish to his own teammates, sometimes it even cost them the game like when Mane was with the team. I'd say he should go after all he has already won everything, let him try elsewhere like the SAUDI PRO LEAGUE.

Klopp leaving has nothing to do with the current situation at the Liverpool club because I could remember when he made the announcement they were pretty doing well and also went on to win the EFL/Carabao competition and bragged that they will do the quadruple for his departure. The main reason why Liverpool at the last moment collapse is because of the injury crisis presently hampering the squad. The club had Almost all of his first time players out injured with few teenagers been introduced into the team and as a time they were doing well but we all know consistency demands character and the young lads do not just have it yet. This is the reason why Klopp is facing this decline and not him announcing he will leave.

Sallah move is still just a speculation and hasn’t been confirmed yet so it shouldn’t be causing this fuse. Also I do not agree with the opinion that Salah is stingy in front of goal rather I will say he is hungry to score more, if it is selfishness you can see how many assists he has ranked up and compare maybe a stingy player will rack up that number of assists
115  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: April 19, 2024, 11:09:20 PM
Bayern Munich player Jamal Musiala is becoming Manchester City's target for next season, to counter this Bayern are proposing a new contract and a new higher offer for the player.

Lukaku will most likely leave Roma and Italy again at the end of the season and return to Chelsea which is still the player's home team.
He will probably leave the club on loan again this summer.

Jamal Musiala is such an amazing talent that I think Manchester city right now is the perfect place for him to flourish, he can play as a winger and also playmaker. Looking at this current Manchester City squad the position he will fit in perfectly is the playmaker role which is currently occupied by Kelvin DeBruyne. With DeBruyne getting injured this days easily and also gradually coming of age with speculations around of him moving to the Saudi Pro league, this is the perfect time for Manchester city to get his replacement.
Now do I think Musiala would come to Manchester City, I will say it will be very difficult decision for him, except if the current decline of Bayern Munich continues. My reason why I don’t think he will be leaving the Bundesliga is the fact that not too many German players actually to play their football in other countries. There is as sayin before that it even causes one their National team call up, so Musiala might be very much looking towards this.

Lukaku case is just different, I don’t understand why the Italian club can have him and not make his move permanent. Maybe the wages is a big load on them. But aside that Chelsea his parent club are not Also having that great time in that position and would be in search again this summer. To me Lukaku is experienced and should be tried out in that position.
116  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: Do you not think those land borders should be opened again on: April 19, 2024, 10:51:31 PM
I agree with you, specifically on rice, I think this our local producers are not getting enough competition in terms of price and quality production. If the border gets open, the supply of foreign rice will increase in the market, whereas the demand is lesser than the supply will only lead to reduction in price of these goods and will also serve as a warning to our local producers to improve on their quality of production, so consumers can prefer buying locally made than the imported.

I just hope things gets back to being normal, I only heard it has started from few users but watching down to my locality nothing of such is happening, price of goods are still so much cost.

You see the case of this rice, it was the main commodity or produce that got our boarders closed. The past administration were actually looking for a way to make Nigerians not only prioritize the locally made rice but also have some to export out to other countries. The government then brought around the RIFAN scheme which was just disbursed to few of themselves and laundered the rest. Currently this isn’t working as there are no market competition and the producers are hiking price with the claims that the cost of cultivating is high. Should there be extra supply of the goods, market will flow
117  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Where best to enjoy this forum... on: April 19, 2024, 10:23:25 PM

Personally, i have been using the mobile version and I'm getting convenient with it as I'm not always free to visit the forum at home, so I usually visit and comment using my mobile devices.

If you also want to get a better user experience of the forum you can browse the forum using Tor browser it's also a privacy browser and a good one for the everyday user as it gives a better view of the website.

The thing with using desktop is the fact that Some features will be hiding on mobile while visible on the desktop versions. And the desktop versions are magnified as they should be due to screen size. One of the reason why I see people use phone is because of the keyboard typing, many people aren’t able to type properly on a system keyboard but since the mobile phones key board are more convenient since they are small and people use them frequently they are acquainted with it

Aside the fact that Tor browser actually helps in terms of privacy, I don’t see any other features that some other browsers do not have even the view in some browsers seems better
118  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Europa League 2023/24 Season on: April 18, 2024, 11:28:00 PM

Now Italy and Germany will retain the first two places in the UEFA club rankings and will receive 5 tickets to the Champions League, while the Premier League will remain with 4. Few people believed that all English clubs would reach the finals, but probably even fewer believed that they would all be knocked out in two days.

Bayer broke Juventus' record and I think it will stand for many years, if not decades - 44 games without defeat is incredibly difficult to repeat at the level of the top 5 leagues in Europe.

This is definitely a heavy blow to the EPL who have at least four clubs battling the last four place and the fifth place was suppose to be a gift for them but right now it’s Ovey for them. Clubs like Manchester United and Newcastle were actually looking towards snatching that place off and qualifying to the Champions League. Not only that the last place in the club World Cup has been handed over to RB Salsburg after Arsenal who were deemed to fill the last place failed to make it to the last 4 of the champions league.

Bayer Leverkusen once again showed resilience to actually got a draw in the game to keep their unbeaten alive. As the clock was wining down I thought maybe it was going to be broken but as always Leverkusen find a way in the last minutes to create history
119  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: April 18, 2024, 11:17:49 PM
Manchester City only needs to win all the remaining matches this season in order to get the Premier League trophy because at this time there are only six more matches left for the three teams to face. So Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool will try to keep winning in the six remaining matches this season in order to still have a chance of winning until the end of the season. Because any mistake for Manchester City will make it fail to become champions this season, so Manchester City cannot draw or lose again in the remaining matches.

Right now this remains the major competition and trophy for them to win, although the FA cup is also a major trophy in England Pep hardly regards it. With city out in the champions league already it will take one hell of an opposition to actually get a point off them now. Not just Manchester City but also the other league contenders Arsenal and Liverpool have only this trophy too to win and with the pursuit of the league everybody needs to win all their remaining matches. For Arsenal the remaining fixtures are too tricky for them to play with arch-rivals also part of the remaining fixtures so for Arsenal i only see them winning miraculously. Manchester city only have Wolves who are always there nuisance to beat.
120  Other / Meta / Re: Why is merit not common on trading discussion board on: April 18, 2024, 10:52:39 PM
What would you post there that's worthy of merit? An analysis piece maybe? Some data?

From my observations most seasoned members of this forum aren't that much interested in taking risks trading and would rather have a job contributing to something or just hodl their BTC. Historically simply HODL strategy has paid off very well for those that didn't trade at all. Trades have the risk of blowing up in your face or leaving you with losses or at least impermanent losses. Whereas BTC seems to have only kept going up against the dollar in the long run.

Now this is where the trading Board is very well undermined or under appreciated. First of all what you just described is apparently more of a future trading which we all know is risky, same as gambling which also has its board and requires attention too. But I will like to say trading spans a lot more than the leverage trading you are talking about. There are other options like the P2P trading, spot trading which are not gamble and are essential part of bitcoin. Members can ask related questions like they do on technical board or members can create threads explaining functions too. Also to be frank just as fundamental analysis is important, Technical Analysis too is very important too, because even some one that DCA is holdings can catch a perfect entry over time if they have technical analysis combine with fundamentals. So I disagree and say that there are many post that are worthy to be merited on that board too
