101  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How is the Exchange Rate of Bitcoin to USD and Other Currencies Determined? on: July 24, 2023, 11:32:46 AM
If I visit these websites, each one offers so much valuable information surrounding cryptocurrency world. These platforms include Binance, Luno, Cointelegraph, Coinbase, CEX.IO, crypto.com, and coinmarketcap. The first thing that catches my attention when once the web pages open is the prominently displayed real-time (live) charts depicting the price of Bitcoin in USD. I enjoy looking at the charts because they provide a detailed visual representation of Bitcoin's value fluctuations over time. It allows a bitcoin enthusiast like me to keep track the market movements without stress. however, what consistently boggles my mind is the question of how is the exchange rate of Bitcoin to USD and other currencies determined?

The BTC/USD price is determined solely on exchanges that have the BTC/USD trading pair. For example, Binance does not have such a pair, so Binance influences the BTC price solely through the USDT and USD arbitrage on Bitfinex.

BTC/USD pair has some exchanges: Coinbase, Bitfinex, Kraken, LMAX, Bitstamp, Gemini... maybe 2 or 3 smaller axchanges and that's all folks.

External market makers or market makers affiliated with the exchange conduct inter-exchange arbitrage. For instance, if Bitcoin becomes slightly cheaper on Bitfinex compared to Coinbase, they buy Bitcoin on Bitfinex and sell it on Coinbase and vice versa.
102  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Michael Saylor a modern apostle like Peter and Paul? on: July 24, 2023, 11:13:25 AM
I am off with this comparison and let it just be Bitcoin alone and someone who likes it and has got a lot of money invested on it. No one has instructed him in doing so unlike the Apostles that they've got a Master to follow and spread the Word that has been taught to them.

Before Saylor there goes the most popular one whom is now gone, RIP John. Although he's just an all talk guy but his attention getting to the crowd has been effective to him but that's not what we want to see for Bitcoin's growth.

While Michael is a guy that isn't just all talk but also putting money where his mouth is.

John had no skin in this game. Not even close.
103  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Michael Saylor a modern apostle like Peter and Paul? on: July 24, 2023, 10:58:48 AM
Religion and investment? They don't go with each other, far from comparison OP, this is money matter and Saylor is just a smart guy when it comes to making money, whatever he predict my be wrong but also it can be intentional, somethings for new money to swim into an asset there must be some goal rumor that must be created, it's what I see with big Bitcoin investors calling 1million per Bitcoin, deep down they knew its not possible but if they tell the truth how are they going to cash out?

Crypto, stock and others are like chess games, if you know how to play it right, you will be among the few winners, Manipulation is real, even among the popular faces in crypto space.

Do not believe everything people say about Bitcoin on the news, most time it's manipulation, it's a brain game, have your own plan.

Before he became known as Paul, he was called Saul. Saul was a devout Jewish Pharisee who vehemently opposed the teachings of Jesus and viewed the early Christian movement as a threat to Judaism. He actively sought out and persecuted followers of Jesus, even participating in the stoning of the first Christian martyr, Stephen.

https://twitter.com/saylor/status/413478389329428480

if i look at Michael Saylor as modern apostle then i think i might not be wrong because he didn't waited for ETFs to be approved while he can do that too because by doing that he might get more volume and users but he didn't waited for ETFs he just made his own company name Micro-Strategy and backed it up with BTC and now people are buying shares in his company means they are buying shares in BTC but indirectly.

Well, coming back, he didn't waited for any ETFs or big approval he was the first in my POV and thus this make him the early adopter of the BTC. But, now if we see the dedication's impact on BTC which Michael Saylor has on BTC. i think it do matter. Because let's say if he started to sell BTC in bulk or started to go against BTC or at least make any statement. Then there will be fud.

And his investors will sell all of his shares and if he is going to sell them then we are ok because currently he owns 152,333 bitcoin according to coindesk. Such huge fuds will obviously create panic in the community and huge selling will start due to which market will become bearish.

Sure, Sayor has skin in the game. Essentially, he created a quasi-ETF on Bitcoin, which allows him to earn fee on the spread and a interest fee from lending out Microstrategy shares to short sellers. You're saying he can sell Bitcoin? Yes, that's possible. But who would kill the goose (sell Bitcoin) that lays golden eggs? You want sell 21,000,000 Bitcoin  (for example)? Well, welcome to lose all at $0.01 for $210,000 and then +$infinity on the next trade. I call that strategy.

But what is your strategy?
104  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Michael Saylor a modern apostle like Peter and Paul? on: July 23, 2023, 09:09:23 PM
Nah, I would stir away from the religion analogy. It's totally different and we shouldn't compare it to like Christianity wherein Satoshi could be the symbol like Jesus and then he as his apostles like what you are portraying here as Michael Saylor = Peter or Paul.

It's just the Saylor being a investor and see the potential on BTC, "religiously" invested on it because as humans, he knows that he can make a lot of money and so he will be rich. Of course he has been preaching Bitcoin since he join the bandwagon, but it doesn't mean he doesn't have any investment outside of Bitcoin. We just don't know, maybe he has property investments or like stocks and others.

In general, when observing humans, those who are isolated within a tribe or society tend to have shorter lifespans. Throughout early human history, we realized the importance of being part of a strong group (cult or religion) for survival. Typically, the groups that maintain strong bonds and loyalty are more likely to succeed over other groups.

106  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My Appeal to the Average Joe and Jane Bitcoin Investors: Buy Bitcoin Now! on: July 23, 2023, 08:06:55 PM
Dear Average Joe and Jane in the Bitcointalk Community,

I hope this appeal finds you well.

I am writing to appeal to you to please consider buying more bitcoins now and not wait for big institutions to start adopting it before making a decision. Why am I making this appeal to you? First, these big institutions, who may have bitcoin on their radar, do not necessarily care about bitcoin's current price when they decide to enter the market. Bitcoin may be at 50k or 100k; they do not consider the price. Their adoption approach mainly focuses on market sentiments and trends. To buttress my point, big institutions that would adopt bitcoin make the decision to invest based on their analysis of the bitcoin market's potential for growth, rather than the specific price at the time of entry.

Another reason why I appeal to you to buy bitcoin now is that there is always a price push from institutions when they enter the bitcoin market, as we have seen in the past. Because they buy thousands of bitcoins all at once, they create a lot of buying pressure that eventually leads to an increase in bitcoin's value. The result is that the price is driven up, and this makes it difficult for retail investors to buy bitcoin.

My Recommendations and Suggestions for You

  • The Dollar-Cost-Averaging Strategy: This strategy helps you create a plan to accumulate more bitcoins over time. With this strategy, you can invest a specific amount in bitcoin periodically at your convenience (e.g., weekly, fortnightly, monthly) irrespective of the price. Start now.
  • Diversified Acquisition: My recommendation and suggestion for you is to also look into alternatives for accumulating bitcoin. These alternatives may include receiving bitcoin as payment for a good you have sold or a service you have rendered. By doing so, you will slowly increase the amount of bitcoins you own and potentially make a profit in the long run when there is a price surge.

Your Bitcoin Colleague,
AlphaKilo

Bitcoin DCA is an excellent strategy. However, the main questions to which you are not providing an answer is this: How much should one buy? And when should they sell?
107  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Michael Saylor a modern apostle like Peter and Paul? on: July 23, 2023, 07:53:33 PM
Bitcoin will never be a replacement to the world financial system so yoh need to settle with that fact, but the beat that Bitcoin can be is be an alternative to the traditional financial system which is a decentralized financial system that give its user the freedom to choose when and how they spend their money and how much, since there is no limit to Bitcoin transition, unlike the traditional financial system that involves all kinds of limits and restrictions.

So be that is it may, Bitcoin is bigger than any individual investor, and as for Michelle Saylor, he is just an investor and the best he can be is to be among institutional investors but not up to the category of being called a whale Bitcoin holder, the total amount of Michael Saylor and his company bitcoin holding is still low compared to some individual Bitcoin holders.

While the overindulgent citizens and bourgeoisie in the Europe or USA are struggling to comprehend that 2.625 Bitcoin are vital for them not to become slaves in the next 100 years or can't grasp how to conduct AML Bitcoin LN transactions, here's an interesting fact. In Africa, approximately 500 million people do not possess passports and consequently, they lack access to banking services. The only available financial instrument for them today is Bitcoin LN. Understand, gentlemen, strictly speaking, it is indifferent to me whether you join the Order 2.625 or if we have to form an Order with our African brothers. In some sense, it might even be easier with them since their minds haven't undergone nuclear cleansing from Marvel and DC, and I can teach them everything they need to know: Rwanda, Sudan, Kenya, Chad, Angola... strictly speaking, these territories hold countless riches... diamonds, gold, cadmium... you name it, just to add around 8 million plebeians to our Order. And then, who knows, perhaps the "old" money earned by Belgians on the backs of Rwandans will turn to dust, and Belgium itself will become a colony.

This is just an investment, do not help the idea that the Bitcoin community is a cult on. We just resonate with the idea of freedom and decentralization.
Micheal Saylor is a guy who is looking after his investment, if Bitcoin rises in price, he profits, so it's only wise to help it on by using his influence.

If we are looking for those who advocated for Bitcoin and helped it to reach where it is today we should look further back to the early days (someone like Hal Finney) and the developers that helped keep everything functioning.

The art of longing cults.
108  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Is Michael Saylor a modern apostle like Peter and Paul? on: July 23, 2023, 07:24:09 PM
If Bitcoin were to replace the current global financial system and achieve widespread adoption as a decentralized and reliable store of value, some enthusiasts might see Michael Saylor as a visionary or a pivotal figure. Similar to how Peter and Paul played crucial roles in spreading the teachings of Christianity, Saylor's active promotion and strategic investment in Bitcoin could be viewed as instrumental in driving its adoption.

The analogy suggests that just as the apostles were significant in the establishment and spread of Christianity, Saylor's dedication to advocating for Bitcoin and integrating it into his business strategies could be perceived as foundational for a potential future financial paradigm.

109  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin foundation on: July 23, 2023, 06:41:49 PM

Well, first of all, I didn't say that the free supply of Bitcoin would be zero. Let's assume the free supply will be one Bitcoin. Alternatively, the price of Bitcoin will be determined in the derivatives market. For instance, just like oil; it's not physically traded in barrels in the order book.
You want a controlled market maybe be create a token and then practice this your strategy there, Bitcoin has gone to far to be controlled and not to waste time on any debate your strategy would never be possible to implement in Bitcoin and not just Bitcoin it would not also be possible on some altcoins already. Let the market be a natural market.

Sure, you can control supply of any shitcoin like Ethereum foundation, which owns 70% of the "premined" supply (some projects owns up to 99% coins). But all of this smells like a Ponzi scheme. Organizing into a religious Order 2.625 for ~8 million holders, each of whom has honestly acquired Bitcoin in the market, can never be accused of building a Ponzi scheme and market fraud, as Vitalik and his gang do. Order 2.625 is a fair game (and fairly decentralized), unlike Ethereum or any shitcoin "premine".
110  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin foundation on: July 23, 2023, 06:24:05 PM
Your mathematical model is intriguing despite its ambiguity. Buy and hold Bitcoin to participate in a new financial order. However, from a corporate and social perspective, lets stand back.

First, lets eliminate the premise that everyone can or wants 2.625 Bitcoins. Wealth distribution varies. Like Bitcoin. Few early users will ever be worth much. Additionally, not everyone can afford, understand, or want to invest in Bitcoin.

Second, your comment about individuals uniting for a cause is intriguing. However, Bitcoin's strength is its decentralisation, which prevents authority from becoming centralised. Bitcoin buyers trust in it and think it can disrupt financial systems, not create another elite class.

The first response will be for the case if you are a mathematician.
The second response will be for the case if you have got a humanities education.

1. In game theory, zero-sum games (Bitcoin) are a class of antagonistic games in which the sum of the winnings of all participants is equal to zero. This means that the gain of one player is equal to the loss of another player. In such games, the majority of players lose due to the following factors:

Zero-sum nature: In zero-sum games, the total winnings always add up to zero. This implies that for one player to achieve success, another player must suffer a defeat. As a result, the total number of winners always equals the total number of losers, and the majority of players end up on the losing side.
Limited strategies: In zero-sum games, participants are restricted in their choice of strategies that can lead to victory. Often, players opt for simple and predictable strategies, which make their behavior easily foreseeable for experienced opponents.
Competition and aggressiveness: In zero-sum games, players compete against each other and strive to outperform their opponents. This leads to aggressive behavior and a desire to achieve gains at the expense of defeating other players. As a consequence, the majority of players face fierce competition and end up losing.
Optimal strategies: In zero-sum games, optimal strategies can be studied and computed mathematically. Experienced players can analyze the game, predict their opponents' moves, and choose optimal strategies to achieve victory. Inexperienced players, lacking sufficient knowledge and skills, often encounter losses.

As a result, in zero-sum games, the majority of players lose due to competition, limited strategies, and aggressive behavior. Experienced players, with more precise game analysis and the application of optimal strategies, may have a better chance of succeeding. So hold 2.625 Bitcoin is optimal bet (optimal strategy) for ~8 million players (ideal improbable limit) and losing strategy for ~8 billion (ideal improbable limit) players (short sellers, margin traders, futures traders, options traders, etc) in the zero-sum game.

2. The Order 2.625 is not the only order with a number in its name. For example, the Franciscans and Dominicans also have the Third Order within their Orders, known as "tertius"
These are laypeople who live according to the order's rules, take vows, but do not leave the secular world or their professions and families. The Third Order became a major force in the Renaissance culture. tertius included poets like Dante, Francesco Petrarch, Jacopone da Todi, and the famous Catalan writer and theologian, Ramon Llull. Artists like Michelangelo and Raphael were also "tertius". Even Christopher Columbus was a "tertius", a Franciscan of the Third Order. These were highly influential individuals and key figures of the Renaissance.

When the Order 2.625 gains power and we enter the era of Nanorenaissance, then Michael Saylor will be recognized not only as a key figure of our time but will be elevated by the Order to the same level as apostles Peter or Paul are in the Roman Catholic Church. After all, only those who have shown exceptional dedication can be exalted.

111  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin competition. on: July 23, 2023, 05:54:27 PM
There would always be a competition on Bitcoin, irrespective of how good potential Bitcoin is, they can never convert all the investors, gone are those days when everyone wants to invest on Bitcoin as it was chipper then and there was a large number of investors coming in everyday but now the price has gotten to these extend most people began to loss interest because the majority investors prefer investing on a potential coins that has lower price in other to make good profit.

So, no matter how potential btc is, most investors will always choose more chipper coins because price fluctuations cannot easily affect them unlike btc, take for instance you invested $5k on Bitcoin at the price of $30k and based on how volatile it is and drop from $30k to $25k in the next morning, that means your account will be zero then till it comes back but other good chipper coins hardly move to that extent immediately instead it moves on a gradual process. that's my humble understanding.

There is no second best. Your Internet protocol is IPv4. https://whatismyipaddress.com/ Try its fee. IPv4 protocol of Internet as a network consensus is the best analogy for Bitcoin.

"chipper" shitcoins shitprotocols:
NetBIOS
IPX (Internetwork Packet Exchange)
AppleTalk
DECnet
Xerox Network Systems (XNS)
IPng (Internet Protocol Next Generation)
OSI (Open Systems Interconnection) protocols
NCP (Novell, Inc)
FidoNet
etc

113  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Institutions are interested in raiding bitcoin on: July 23, 2023, 05:15:38 PM
Bitcoin is being invaded by institutions. Is this a sign that Bitcoin will be pumping hard or just a bull trap? This time we will discuss institutions around the world that are raiding Bitcoin Busily and want to enliven the Bitcoin ecosystem. Either just being a retailer for Bitcoin, becoming a custodian, or even issuing a Bitcoin ETF. So, Let's discuss.

You know, I've heard stories of many losing players or "burned-out" ones (dropping out) at work, which essentially means "game over," and every time you hear a tale as if it's about battling some monstrous "Whale" or "Mr. Market" or "Institutions". But in reality, it's called "I lost hope and don't know how to play," and its author is "Mr. Whiner." I don't know, maybe they do have problems, but I don't. Listen, guys, to win this game, you don't need Bitcoin ETF, knowledge of mathematics, mathematical statistics, probability theory, programming, a 666 IQ trading strategy, artificial "intelligence," multi-billion capital, insider information, access to matching engines at the speed of light, leverages, working 14-hour days, or owning an exchange... all you need to win this game is hope, and to have hope, you need a preacher. Just take control of precisely 2.625 Bitcoin in the market and move it to a cold wallet. No more, no less. That's the optimal bet in this game.

Yes, it's all as simple as biblical truths. You don't even question why you are entitled to one wife. You don't think that two wives are better than one. And three wives are better than two. You live in a society where the consensus is that one wife is what you get, regardless of whether you're Jeff Bezos or a plumber. What if one (with a 50/50 division of men and women) is the optimum?
114  Local / Трейдеры / Re: Рисковые игроки on: July 23, 2023, 05:09:30 PM

115  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My easy way to teach your kids bitcoin. on: July 23, 2023, 04:45:21 PM
Why not tie the benefits to using Bitcoin in the real world? Make sure they each have their own "Kidcoin" wallet. If they show interest in the show or pose a thoughtful question, reward them with Satoshi. They'll gain satisfaction from watching their virtual coin total rise over time.

Of course, there are difficulties to overcome. The first time they complete a transaction or realize the importance of blockchain will be an amazing experience. Preparing kids for a crypto-centric future is only half the battle; the other half is giving them the tools to actively shape that future

We no need "Kidcoin". I can't see any problems in pocket money for kids in Bitcoin and Bitcoin LN transactions.
116  Local / Трейдеры / Re: Рисковые игроки on: July 23, 2023, 04:22:59 PM

117  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My easy way to teach your kids bitcoin. on: July 23, 2023, 04:12:46 PM
Why would you even think of teaching kids about Bitcoin? They can't earn money for themselves and can't even decide to on which Crypto to invest. Maybe they will like Ethereum more than Bitcoin? No need to force it to someone especially kids lol. Rather teach them how to earn money so they can make their own decisions later on in their life. Let them play bro.

Only 2% of people over 26.25 years old are capable of changing their worldview. The other 98% of those raised on Marvel, DC, and parental teachings to keep American dollars in the bank or under the mattress are the Liquidated Generation. There's no saving them. A vivid example is Du Jun, the co-founder of Huobi, who lost a billion of US dollars in two American banks, but there are many similar examples. Take SBF for instance, who never believed in Bitcoin, never owned it, and maximized his capital solely in US dollars, only to end up with just one Bitcoin in FTX balance. Carolina from Alameda simply sold Bitcoin for US dollars and invested in stocks of American companies and startups.

Essentially, all these crypto artists want the same things:
US dollars in the bank account with a 0.5% interest rate
expensive real estate
a classical stock portfolio

When our Order 2.625 (Bitcoin foundation) gains strength, bankruptcy will be a common outcome for an entire generation of millionaires and billionaires, with few exceptions like Elon Musk or Michael Saylor, who own Bitcoin

Young ladies and gentlemen aged from 2.625 to 26.25 years old - that's who truly matters for the empowerment of Bitcoin foundation. To convert them to our faith, we don't need complex marketing strategies or podcasts with Taylor Swift. To convert them to our faith, Order 2.625 will engage in selling poppy seed buns, sausage rolls, meat-filled pastries, and other simple lunches for Bitcoin through Bitcoin LN terminals in primary and secondary schools. And in 10-15 years, we'll see who holds more power - the Vatican and the Federal Reserve System combined or Order 2.625 (Bitcoin foundation). Basic strategy, kids.
