101  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: The power of Networking. on: March 29, 2024, 06:06:20 AM
It's not strange that no man can do it all by himself and that most of the things we are doing becomes better and easier when we actually put our heads together and support ourselves in our own little way.

I've benefited a lot by networking with people. Sometimes you just need to know someone that knows someone who is into what you're looking for and it paves a big way for you. Their are several instances when people pay huge sum of money to learn a skill that you will comfortably learn for free because of the kind of network you've built.

I guess this is one of the major advantage of going to the higher institution and to be really honest, the major thing I have achieved as a graduate is that I have a network of different individuals that are doing well for themselves in different field and it's always very easy to seek for their help or professional advice when the need arises.

Even most of our top politician and some of our leading industrial expert still ensure that they build the needed relationship and network with people in their field and those outside their field and once they leave a particular position, it's always not difficult for them to find another.

What I'm saying in essence, is that we've become a family by reason of this platform that brings us together and if for any reason their is going to be a physical move to advocate for bitcoin adoption, we're going to be in the right position to carry it out and so make we de relate wela for the forum and also try to de carry each other along so we go also know wetin de happen for the industry wella.

It's great that you highlighted emotional support; It seems it's a subject that isn't discussed sufficiently in the crypto world. Many people are attracted to cryptocurrency for its financial prospects, but I believe that the psychological and social advantages are to be essential. Having individuals who know the difficulties you're going through and can provide assistance as well as support is invaluable.

In my own experience, I've found that this community has been quite useful in terms of sharing knowledge and tools. I've learnt a lot about various currencies and initiatives, and I've been able to seek advice and counsel from people with more knowledge in the sector than I do. For someone who is new to cryptocurrency, its natural for feeling confused as well as out of one's comprehensive manner, but being a member of this group has made me feel more at home.
102  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: Try all your best to gain knowledge on: March 29, 2024, 05:48:22 AM
My country people good afternoon inside this afternoon, see eh,  anything wey we dy do, make we try all our best to gain knowledge, because even bible talk say knowledge is profitable to direct, see eh, most people for we country wey dy misinformed or wey  lack  knowledge believe say once you dy press phone or laptop too much, mean say you be scammer or yahoo boy, make we look around us for we country, almost all the people doing well get one or two knowledge about  something wey dy pay dem well, ok make we talk about dis crypto industry now, those people wey lack knowledge about the industry, na dem dy mostly go lose money for trading and scammers hand pass because them no know whats up, some of dem dy even invest serious money in shit coin because them lack knowledge, wen de coin fall and refuse to rise again dem go generalize am say crypto generally na scam, or you wan talk of those people wey dy give people money to trade for dem? All this tins dy boils down to lack of knowledge.
I don even see one young fine guy wey one white man wan give one good job like that, because him no sabi read, the man no just know how him fit help am again, because na guy wey him just like, and the job demands documentation, so why I dy tlk all this tins is that make we seek knowledge with everything we get abeg, because e get why.

You are correct, it is not only about cryptocurrency; it relates to all parts of life. If we do not take the effort to train ourselves, we risk making poor judgments or becoming vulnerable to scams. It's like the old phrase, "A little knowledge is a dangerous thing." The moment we lack knowledge enough concerning something, we are quickly misled by those who appear to have all of the answers. However, if we take the time to truly understand the issues that are important to us, we will be able to make better judgments and avoid falling victim to scams or other terrible situations.

Education is really essential, and we ought to work for it. Regardless of our age or situation, we can constantly acquire knowledge to become more aware. And the more knowledgeable we are, the more equipped we are to make decisions that are in our best interests. Therefore, let's keep acquiring knowledge and encouraging others to do the same. Knowledge is power, and the more we know, the better off we will be; it is a matter of our state of mind, health, and so on, not just money.
103  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: Crime and justice should be served equally on: March 28, 2024, 01:16:27 PM
When it comes to corruptions and other related issues I don't know what to say about this my country. This country is gradually becoming a place for the wealthy people alone no equal rights anymore the rich now oppress the poor cause they know what the law can be already

The poor people are now molested for nothing, deprived of their rights,no more freedom of speech,no more right to own a property the  poor are now seen as the less privileged. The human right was supposed to be a home and voice of the poor people but now it has turned against them, Money and riches has changed everything in my country.

Yesterday I decided to sit with my friend in his shop closed to the road and all these police men who would suddenly form a checking where it is not necessary where busy collect their normal Ransome from taxi drivers then a jeep parked along the road before the man could come down one police man dashed to the car held the man for parking wrongly the man argued with him telling him he did not park wrongly while the argument was still going on the police officer slapped the man for arguing with him the officer wanted to seize his keys threatening him that he would take him to the police station, immediately the man brought out his phone that he would call the DPO  his friend, then the other officers rushed to the point of argument and told him to let the man go and they let him leave.

Later again a taxi driver stopped in that same point to carry a passenger these officers rushed to this taxi driver and charged him for parking wrongly this man pleaded that he only wanted to drop a passenger but they gave him def ears took his keys ordered every other passengers to come down and drove the car with this man to where they call station let me put it that way cause I don't know where they took him to at last maybe he may settle them on the road.

But you see this is a citizen who knows his right this is a poor man looking for survival from his taxi now his source of money is gone and maybe he is still going to spend money to bail his car, but just a threat to call a DPO the other man was allowed to leave. Justice in Nigeria is not an equal right at all.

If you kill a soldier the whole society is in trouble, you kill a rich man they will come looking for you but kill a poor man where matter wan go e bad as e bad they call it compensation for the family and matter end like that the poor are treated like animals. Crime and justice must be served equally.

In situations like this, raising public awareness and providing information may be quite beneficial. If more people were aware of the disparities and inequalities that are occurring, it may generate pressure for change. It may also be beneficial to establish relationships with other people who are fighting for justice and equality and learn from what they have gone through. Small modifications could eventually lead to greater changes.
In the meanwhile, it is critical to continue working for justice and equality in whichever way possible. Even simple actions can have a long-term impact. I understand how easy it is to feel burdened or helpless in the midst of such injustice, but I think that even modest actions of protest may have a significant influence. Also, offer a space for individuals whose voices have been overlooked and meet others who are working for similar issues.
104  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Economy affects Bitcoin investors. on: March 28, 2024, 12:52:20 PM
Na just the economy wey we dey so, na e dey just affect wetin common people fit save. For me, e look like say one of the main things wey fit help make Bitcoin investment dey better for the common people na just to make sure say the naira start to gain value, so that people fit get money wey dem fit use take invest.

Or better still, dem fit get access to basic things wey them need to survive and make dem fit use the money wey them get take help their family and community. So dat way, dem go fit find am easier to save or invest. And make government create awareness about the crypto world, so that people go get better understanding and dem go see better ways to fit invest their money. So that way, even though Bitcoin still dey volatile, at least people go understand wetin to do to dey make profit even when the price dey go up and down and e go help people wey dey new to the crypto world make better decisions and dem go also know say Bitcoin no be something wey person go just rush enter, because if people get this kind mentality for crypto, even ordinary person for Nigeria go feel safe to try to invest for crypto.
105  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Think security first, before you invest on: March 28, 2024, 10:42:36 AM
It is vital to state that the frequent scams that occur in the crypto sector include phishing attacks, bogus crypto giveaways, and fraudulent investment opportunities. It's also crucial to be mindful of the volatility of the cryptocurrency market. Crypto prices change frequently, so it's best to be prepared and only invest what you can afford to lose. So it's really essential for people to learn strong money management skills, because no matter what the crypto price is right now, you still need to prepare for the future, and you can't let greed and fear drive you because they'll lead to terrible judgments. So it's a good idea to conduct comprehensive research before making any investments.
106  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: Life is precious on: March 28, 2024, 10:22:11 AM
What are you grateful for today? It may be something simple, like a nice cup of coffee or a lovely sunset, or something larger, like a fantastic talk with a friend or a new opportunity that has presented itself. The concept is that by reflecting on the pleasant things that happen every day, we may educate our minds to concentrate on the positive rather than the bad. I think it's a very effective technique!
I also believe it is critical to cultivate thankfulness toward ourselves, rather than merely people or external events. Self-compassion and self-love are really beneficial. Self-compassion is handling ourselves with the same love, patience, and understanding which we would offer a friend or someone you care about, particularly if we are having trouble or feeling down. As a result, practicing self-compassion may support our efforts to cultivate thankfulness.
107  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Gratitude should be an attitude on: March 28, 2024, 10:06:36 AM
It's surprising how appreciation can help us see the world in a new perspective, find significance and importance even in tough situations. And it's equally correct that oftentimes the people in our lives who dislike us may motivate us to work harder and be more improved versions of ourselves, and I believe that one of the strongest aspects of thankfulness is that it changes how we view things away from the bad and toward the good. And such adjustments in concentration may truly transform how we view the world around us; even if you don't possess the gene, however, you can still cultivate appreciation with diligence and dedication.
108  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Do you expect to go to Heaven, when finished here on Earth? on: March 28, 2024, 09:48:59 AM
Certain individuals view Heaven as a place of eternal rest and calm, while others envision it as a place of happy reunions with loved ones. There are also numerous religious beliefs on what Heaven is like. I find it fascinating how various individuals envisage the afterlife based on their beliefs and experiences. And I believe it's intriguing to investigate the many ways individuals think about what occurs after death. So everyone brings their own unique viewpoint to the table on paradise, but as for me, I will go to heaven, which is why I am walking on the bright side of life.
109  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Discovering your potentials on: March 28, 2024, 09:36:30 AM
Discipline is essential for retaining your abilities, staying dedicated to your goals, and being open to fresh opportunities and chances. Sometimes we become trapped in a situation, doing the same actions again and over. However, if we are prepared to venture outside of our familiar surroundings and attempt new things, we may unlock new possibilities inside ourselves. For example, if you are an excellent writer but have never considered publishing a book. Or maybe you're fantastic at sales but have never considered establishing your own firm. It's critical to discover your entire potential. So, instead of being discouraged by an obstacle, make use of it as an opportunity for improvement and keep moving forward.
110  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Can government track us. on: March 28, 2024, 09:19:16 AM
The government does have the capacity to follow citizens who ask queries or publish information that violates its rules and regulations, but in many situations, investigation is used to monitor patterns of behaviour rather than to punish individuals. However, it is always vital to be aware of the norms and restrictions of the groups in which you engage, and to use discretion while discussing contentious or sensitive topics. So, it's crucial to understand the service patterns for each group in which you join, and bear in mind that different governments have varied capacities and techniques of tracking individuals.
111  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Government job or private job? on: March 28, 2024, 09:00:52 AM
Depends on the context of your country and it's economy, to be honest.
There are countries where people would rather to work for a private company and others where a work with the government is more appealing.

I have received some offers from both, but it is very situational what you will choose here in this country. Private companies offer a better salary, but their schedules are very grinding and can mess with the health of people. Government jobs tend to be more lax, pay less but you got more time to do your own things.

Depending on what  our needs are, we will end up choosing one.

Also, I have always wondered who good is to work for the government in countries like the United States and Europe. I assume salaries are better than average.

It seems like you're analyzing the advantages and drawbacks of both alternatives, which is fantastic! While taking a decision, make sure that you thoroughly examine all of the issues. I believe it plays an important role to assess your particular passions and hobbies. A government job may provide security and bonuses, but if you aren't interested in the work, it may not be a good match. The same is true for businesses of all kinds; if you are positive about a certain topic, it may be worthwhile to explore a career in that field, even if the pay is lower than that of a government post. It's worth noting that many government employment in these nations come with good compensation and medical advantages.
112  Economy / Gambling / Re: Why they need a license if bitcon is not money? on: March 28, 2024, 07:51:36 AM
It's fun guys, govs hardly avoid accepting Bitcoin is money, but when it comes to gambling then users are risking money, so, casinos need a license.

Let's be honest, If you can deposit, wager, and withdraw. I don't see where the license is in the process...

Just want to say Fuck Curaçao, the island in the middle of nowhere who decide to take the crypto gambling industry in their hands and make billions of dollars with it. Who the fuck they are to wash money this way?

Crypto gambling needs freedom, and i insist in this point. If you can Deposit, Wager and Widrawal, then you don't need anything else.  And a big shout out to those casinos who still working until now without a license, freebitco.in, Just-Dice.com, bustabit.com... They are big examples of how crypto gambling should be.

I believe it's also important to take into account the influence of blockchain technology on the casino business because blockchain could make it simpler for players to monitor and confirm the fairness of games, potentially making regulation more unnecessary, and I think what you're saying about casinos like FreeBitco.in and Just-Dice.com operating without a license is valid. They've been around for a long and have earned a reputation for being reliable and fair. So, I believe a balance must be achieved between regulating the business and allowing for creative thinking and rivalry. So, I believe it's crucial to remember that gaming is heavily controlled for a reason.
113  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: The sooner you find an alternative the better on: March 27, 2024, 11:09:13 AM
But seriously, na serious situation we dey face for Nigeria as e concern crypto. No be only binance wey Federal Government wan cause problem, other exchanges dey under threat, and as you talk am, the effect fit go extend to crypto community for the country as a whole.
But make we no just dey focus on di negative side alone. As you know, e fit make this issue push more people to di crypto space, e fit make people take di matter go court, and if we fit be optimistic, make we imagine say all this issues fit help in the long run as e go force the government to dey do proper research and realize say crypto na im be the future of finance.
114  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Bitcoin as an hedge for inflation on: March 27, 2024, 10:56:47 AM
It is clear that soon, bitcoin would be use as reserve currency by most countries, especially countries with poor economy. I believe that after Argentina have seen the value of bitcoin that Bukele bought as the country reserve currency has increased so much in value, Javier Milie have decided to take a bold step to invest the country's funds into bitcoin.

Anything fiat currency is must depreciate in value because as time passes by, the cost of products and commodity will be on increasing due to inflation, and government will keep on printing more money to increase the inflation level, thinking that is the best idea. Bitcoin is an hedge to inflation because as fiat value depreciates overtime, bitcoin value increases overtime. This is the main reason why bitcoin investment is the one of the best investment to invest in to safe the value of your funds in future.

Bitcoin no dey under any central control, so e no fit dey suffer from di kind manipulation wey fit happen to other currencies wey central banks dey control. Also, since Bitcoin dey limited to only 21 million coins, e get natural scarcity wey fit make am increase for value over time. On top of that, Bitcoin dey decentralized and worldwide, e no dey subject to di kind political and economic disruptions wey fit affect other currencies. So, Bitcoin get the kind security and stability wey other assets no fit give. All dis things fit make Bitcoin dey help person hedge against inflation. But, e get some risk wey dey come with using Bitcoin to hedge against inflation. First, di price of Bitcoin dey fluctuate a lot, so e no dey as reliable as gold or silver when e come to storing value. Also, since Bitcoin na new technology, we no dey sure how e go behave for economic crisis, or if government go decide to crack down on am. So, before you go decide to use Bitcoin to hedge against inflation, you need to weigh the risk and the reward well.
115  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: Regulation of price by the government on: March 27, 2024, 10:42:45 AM
These are an important problem that must be handled, and governments should consider it when developing regulations and guidelines. One solution would be to create a government organization in charge of observing and controlling pricing. The organization might establish maximum pricing for particular products and services, or it might observe price movements to ensure they are acceptable and reasonable. It is also necessary to remember the effect of opposition in the marketplace; enterprises will be unable to charge excessive rates because they risk losing customers to competitors, which can have a significant impact on the cost of living, particularly for those who are currently struggling economically.

116  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: cruel level of addiction, causing harms and still keeping it up on: March 27, 2024, 10:11:20 AM
Gambling addiction are of different levels I guess Sad

And this one that I just witnessed is likely the most cruel one.

I have seen gamblers who are addicted to gambling fighting for their lives to stop or reduce their gambling activities but they can't, obviously they are addicted to gambling and struggling with it.

But for the first time I happened to see someone who is a gambler and he was harmed because of gambling severally, fully in financial distress but instead of him to calm down and try to avoid what's harming him so badly, even after losing everything, he is still so desperate to continue.

The way I am looking at him, he is behaving unstable, as if he is now mentally derailed, he can communicate but gambling is the next thing he want to do, this have cost him is home, business and family.

Where I am confused is that why won't he stopped already? Those that are addicted to gambling that i knew get to this same level of losing everything and they make a U-turn in the end, what is keeping him imprisoned ? His mind? or he is already crazy? Or even a spiritual attack?

It's evident that the guy you're describing is dealing with a major disastrous impact on his life, and it's probable that he's using gambling to cope with deep mental health issues. If that's the case, he should seek professional assistance. Finally, it's conceivable that he's been so caught up in the gambling cycle that he can't think properly or logically about the implications. This is known as " betting fog," and it can be tough to get out of.
If you are concerned about this individual, there are a few things you may do to assist. First, you might persuade him to consult a specialist who operates in gambling dependence.
117  Other / Politics & Society / Re: freedom of expression on: March 27, 2024, 09:48:03 AM
True, in certain countries, particularly in regions that are developing, the right to free speech is frequently neglected; nevertheless, consider the equilibrium between free expression and the preservation of other rights, such as the right to fairness and equality without discrimination. It's a difficult question, with no simple answer. However, I believe it is an essential matter to think about, particularly given the world's expanding interconnection. In today's international environment, we must find a method to defend everyone's rights, especially the right to free expression.
People have the right to peacefully demonstrate and express their thoughts without fear of punishment, but some argue that certain restrictions are required to preserve the rights of others.
118  Economy / Economics / Re: The savings problem on: March 27, 2024, 08:56:32 AM
I can tell about this problem by observing how most people live in my country. Loans for almost everything force people to work seven days a week. Closing one loan, another opens, and people live in debt without free money that could be invested. From here, it is noticeable that people are in a hole of debt, regularly saving every penny.
But yes, our desires do not end, and we can say that we can stop everything, but the pace of life and the developed habit of earning money practically do not allow people to stop and think that they can live differently.

In regards to government assistance, one approach that may help people escape a life of debt is the introduction of financial education programs. These schemes might teach individuals about financial management, managing their debts, and other financial ideas that will help them make better money decisions. Furthermore, the government may consider introducing laws that make it simpler for people to get inexpensive credit, such as subsidized financial assistance or additional monetary assistance programs.
Another alternative may be to promote business ownership and job development, giving individuals greater possibilities to grow their income and escape the cycle of debt. If more individuals had access to solid employment with fair compensation, it may help anyone get away from debt and accumulate their savings.
119  Economy / Economics / Re: Will people ever get tired of trading bitcoin? on: March 27, 2024, 08:45:00 AM
They are four kinds of trading according to Pareto; An immortalized name in the economics mathematical science.

1. A win win trade; one that the both parties win, hence the number of people into such trade keeps booming

2. Trade in which a party gains, but no one loses, and again welfare will definitely go up; more users and investors

3. Trade in which no one gains, but someone loses

4. Trade in which some party win and some loses, and increases the amount of profits of those who won.

People are wise, they'll go for one and two, but will trade on it until a point where people can't trade without getting worsen off.  But, in 3 and 4, where I placed bitcoin, especially 4. The trade cannot be profitable if people don't lose for others to win. Yet it has some qualities of the results of number 1, finite supply. When the supply of bitcoin ends. Wouldn't people look for other things that'll serve them, other than bitcoin?

People's interest can change in the market. Which is what balances the market. Difference in utilities.

No fud! just reasoning like an economists. Using their mathematical science. You can contribute or share you insights on Pareto principles; Pareto optimal and Pareto superior trades.

Thanks.

You are correct that individual and group likes and dislikes can vary, affecting the market. For instance, if a big number of individuals lose passion for bitcoin and instead invest in other assets, the price of bitcoin may fall. On the other hand, if more individuals become enthusiastic about bitcoin and begin to use it for operations, its value may climb. So it's critical to examine how the market could develop in the future as people's choices shift. So, while Bitcoin's supply is restricted, other variables may impact its worth as time passes.
120  Economy / Economics / Re: The value of currency in country's economy on: March 27, 2024, 08:23:49 AM
The value of the currency plays an important role in the strength and development of a country's economy.

Their prices can be determined in two ways: the floating price and the fixed price. The floating price is determined by supply and demand in the global currency markets. If the demand for the currency is high, its value increases, and if it is low, this will lead to a decrease in the value of the currency. The fixed price is determined by The government through its central bank, where the price is determined against another major global currency such as the US dollar, the euro, or the yen, and to maintain the exchange rate, governments buy and sell their currency against the currency tied to it.

The dollar is the strongest currency in the world.. Why?

Economists point out that the US dollar has been the cornerstone of the global economy since the middle of the twentieth century, and it can be said that despite the repercussions of the strong dollar globally and the more stringent global financial conditions, the rise or stability of the dollar is due to reasons including what is related to the strength of the US economy and raising interest rates. By the Federal Reserve Board

There are a number of economic fundamentals that are considered a major factor in the rise in the value of the dollar, including the rise in US interest rates, the diversity and multiplicity of industries in the US economy compared to the dependence of other countries on a small number of industries or exports of goods, which makes them more vulnerable to economic cycles, and the confidence of investors and their aspiration to buy... Currencies with high interest rates create a reserve rate of return on their currency exchange, as higher interest rates make the currency more attractive and therefore in a growing economic environment this situation will make traders have a positive outlook on the rise of the dollar.

-What are the other factors that made America's economy the strongest in the world?
-What is your assessment of your country's currency in relation to the dollar?

All of these variables have contributed to the US dollar's position as the world's primary stable currency. This implies that many foreign countries maintain US dollars as reserves, which contributes to the dollar's strength. The US dollar is also widely utilized in worldwide trade and finance, serving as the currency for the majority of global transactions. The overwhelming influence of the US dollar may have both beneficial and bad consequences for the global economy. On the one hand, it ensures steadiness and a single currency for trade across borders. On the other hand, it may cause inequalities in investment and commerce, as well as currency crises in other nations, and it's captivating to contemplate how the U.S. dollar supremacy could be influenced by the rise of other currencies such as euro etc.
