101  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Rich or poor gambler, who should risk more? on: May 10, 2024, 06:13:30 PM
Gambling an activity for fun also has the chance to turn someone's fortune. Calculated risk when taken in gambling can be the way to big wins from gambling. Who do you think should take more risk in gambling? The rich gambler or the gambler who is not yet rich. If a rich gambler takes risks in gambling, they are risking losing money and becoming poor from gambling, or getting richer, when a gambler who is not yet rich gambles, they can also get poorer or richer, so the gambler who should take the risk should be the gambler who can handle the dangers of the risk like losing too. When a rich gambler loses from taking a risk, there is a better chance of them being in a position to manage with the losses, than someone struggling financially who a big loss will really affect. So, I am confused after asking myself this question and answering it, does this mean a poor gambler should continue to play it safe in gambling? With no risk, how can a poor gambler change their fortune in gambling?

Generally, gambling act is associated with risk is risky already but considering the poor and the rich who risk more, I assumed you are referring to who put more resources in to gambling? If that be the case and from my observations within my localized locality I would say that it is the rich that risk more because they have what it takes to do that far better than the poor.
102  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do some people hide to gamble on: May 10, 2024, 06:04:47 PM
I was walking down my street this evening I saw some group of guys in a hidden corner of an uncompleted building playing WHOT games ordinarily I felt they are just spending usual time as friends and that they are playing the WHOT game to keep themselves busy while discussing.

But when I got closer to them I discovered that there was a dirty container close to them and inside the container is money they bet for the game they are playing , and if not careful observed you will never believe that they are playing bet games .

My curiosity led me closer to them I was interacting with one of them and at same time observing what they are doing , one thing I observed was that they stake with huge amount and they don’t give you change even when your money requires change instead you will use it and bet for another round.

So at this point I decided to bring it here to know or see different views from different intellects here on why do some people hide just to gamble or if it is the best way to gamble ?.

The concepts of the thread quite funny, but to be honest I think one of the reason why people hide to gamble is as a result of the fact that they are not proud enough of the gambling act irrespective of the fact that most of the gambling are legalized, but at some point majority of the gambling occasions are not legalized one of the reasons why some people tend to hide to gamble.
103  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy Buy Buy or Sell Sell Sell? on: May 10, 2024, 04:08:08 PM
Buy when there's an opportunity when the market dips or corrects and sell out if it do really be able to hit up your selling point
That is not a good strategy, your strategy speak more of a trader or otherwise a gambler and that could be misleeding. Bitcoin investment is not like gambling. Those that followed same pattern or procedures got disappointed along the line. There is no success in trading for a short period of time. Long term investment through DCA is the goal. Your selling point should be when you have met your target after a long term of HODLing. By then you will start thinking of selling. HODLing for long with backup discretion fund is the key. And invest the amount you can comfortably spend without overdoing it rather than some sort of gambling.
In fact, in my opinion it is a buy dip scheme not to DCA and it cannot be equated because in the end buying buy dips definitely tends to be active because what is done is to buy in every decline and momentum they get and will definitely be different from the DCA scheme which in this case is more passive because it only buys consistently or gradually in regardless of price fluctuations that occur.

In addition, Selling if it really increases your selling value indirectly this is also ultimately mixed into trading in the end especially if the time period is very short so that it is not included in the Investment anymore especially with the DCA scheme because buying at a low price and selling back after making a profit is certainly not an investment for a long period of time but trading that utilizes momentum with the Buy Dip scheme.

Even if it is up to you in the end but I think it is a little difficult to mix all the elements together because in the end it is DCA. Buy Dip and being a trader also cannot be used as a plan (for the whole) but it will be different if you choose one of them. at least it makes you not become confused about what you are doing whether doing DCA, Buy Dip or as a trader.

I don't think if there would be any confusion if proper planning are made along the line or probably ahead of time where proper funds allocation can be a hegde as regards to achieving your goal and objectives, it doesn't really matters the strategy or strategies that is being employed, what is most important in it all is that an investor should not do it such a way that it is going to affect his personal life expenses which will make him to sell off his investment to satisfy his personal needs, it is very much ok if making use of various strategies will not affect his personal life expenses by not over allocating to his investment. utilizing various opportunities in the market with various strategies (combining various strategies) can be good as it puts you in a position of realizing a more sizeable worth of Bitcoin as it increases the quantity of Bitcoin in your bag which is meant to be our most concerned that is, making use of any strategy or strategies comfortably in order for us to have a reasonable size of Bitcoin and not to sell prematurely. Every investor must tailor down his choice of investment strategy or strategies that will suits him or her in terms of the following
     Factors to be considered

1. Financial situation

2. Risk tolerance level

3. Investment goals and objectives (investment horizon inclusive).

104  Economy / Speculation / Re: Road to 100k? on: May 10, 2024, 03:19:07 PM
I don't know if I'm the only one that have noticed this dull movement in the market price since the halving, I'm just saying from what I've observed. If it was last 2-3 months we would have been seeing a different figure like a new one not a repeated amount like we have seen $62k so many times, now we have Bitcoin price at $63k currently, why is the price not trying to go forward instead it's between $60-63k?  If it continues like this I feel we won't even see Bitcoin price at $67k-$69k, it seems this month isn't going to be productive maybe from the last week of this very month that's when we'll be getting close to $70k.

Why getting worried over the price going up, it is only certain that no one can actually speculate or predict how much of an upward trends or downward trends the market conditions can be, but the market has always prove that when it comes down it goes up our most concern should be taken advantage of both market conditions in order to have a sizeable worth of Bitcoin up to a reasonable amount and hold as much longer time as possibly achieving our investment goals and objectives.
105  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: May 10, 2024, 01:48:31 PM
Invest on what you can afford to lose as always as yet this is the primary rule when it comes to investment which specifically means that its not ideal on spending up the funds which are intended to pay up your monthly bull. Investing is really that reflecting out on your financial capacity on whatever means you would really be getting it but if we do speak about that sole income source then having this kind of investment set-up would really be that a huge challenge. So in the end of the day it would really be just that depending on you on how you would really be handling up yourself when it comes to investment decision

Well investing with what you can afford to lose is nice, but still to me is going to reduce the rate of one accummulation of Bitcoin. For instance the money one may agree to risk may be as small as $10 weekly as DCAing, which may take some time to turn to something nice , expecially this time around Bitcoin price is high , so that amount won't be able to coverup some nice quantities in the individual accumulating phase.

So to me the right thing is that one can start his accummulation or investment of bitcoin with what he or she can afford to lose, as time goes on after understanding more and seeing the beauty of Bitcoin he or she can increase his rate of Accumulating without any fear of losing that much aslong he or she possess some good discretionary income. Because alot of investors have use such mindset to affect their investment negatively when it comes to accumulating. Tho one should accumulate in a way that he or she won't over doing it leading them in putting their hands in their emergency funds. But still one should try to be as aggressive he or she can .

There's should be a improvement and the accumulation rate should go higher and the timeline of accumulation should depends if you have reserve fund to spend since with this you may get more better result.
Ofocus yes there must be enough reserved fund to be able  to get a better result in terms of increasing your DCA strategy. I think what I_Anime said is true about increasing your DCA accumulation as time goes on. Sometimes issues like this need to be raised for people to get a point that DCA strategy is not just being accustomed to $10 weekly, when JJG emphasis on $10 weekly he assumes it as minimum which may as well increase in due time after people may have increased there reserved fund. If people are sticked to that minimum $10 weekly they may never yeald a good accumulation power and year ofcus btc price is increasing steadily and a time will come where the minimum DCA amount will not be even enough to buy a goods numbers of SATs considering the current or future price of Bitcoin. so there is need to increase our accumulation process to boost our portfolio. surely overdoing it is not when you have enough to invest in bitcoin and having enough for reserved and floats without investing, overdoing is when you don have enough and you try to invest what you can't afford, or Investing agresive with all you have and may come back to sell your HODLing. So investing agresively is good when you are capable of doing it.
I think having enough reserve funds should not be the reason why we should increase our DCA accumulation plan. Reserve funds should be used for unexpected problems and sometimes to buy bitcoin dips that you will not like to miss. We can increase our DCA accumulation plan if, along the accumulation process, things get better for us, like having a good income source that allows us to increase our DCA accumulation plan and be able to maintain emergency funds, reserve funds, float, and also solve our living expenses.

Increasing the amount of our dca and buying the dip, both solely depends on how much of discretional and disposable income and investor have after taken care of his personal needs and provisional emergency funds, the major function of the emergency funds is to take care of unplanned expenses it serves as a safety net for unforseen circumstances while the reserve funds takes care of both plan and unplanned expenses, where an emergency funds is well intact and good enough, a reserve funds can as well be used to increase our dca and also buy the dip depending on how much of the available discretional and disposable income just to ensure that he is comfortablely accumulating his Bitcoin and at the same time taken good care of his personal needs.
106  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How high will altcoins fly? on: May 10, 2024, 10:59:32 AM
Bitcoin price has almost reached $70k and Altcoins marketing also flying with Bitcoin including most of top altcoins. But as we know that, Bitcoin halving is on the way. So i expect correction in Bitcoin price as well as  the effect should be seen in altcoins market too but is that going to happened? Are we gonna have one more chance to buy altcoins with low price ? What do you think about this

It is an obvious fact that the performance of other coins depends on Bitcoin so altcoins can only fly as long as Bitcoin fly and when it corrections occur to Bitcoin it affects altcoins too, yeah there are definitely going to be another chance of buying both coins at a low price. But however, being overly aggressive can become devastating as it May affect your other financial needs so it is very important not to be too excited about buying at the lower price.
107  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Buying more of the Dip on: May 10, 2024, 10:55:28 AM
While you are scared, El Salvador keeps buying the dip every day.

it seems like El Salvador is taking advantage of the current market conditions and adding to their Bitcoin holdings. As of now, they own 5,700 Bitcoin, which is quite a significant amount. It's an interesting strategy and shows their confidence in the long-term potential of cryptocurrency.
anyways for now i'm happy about the halving and will be celebrating it with the Halving carnival Bitget exchange is organizing, who knows if i can win some free bucks and buy bitcoin too

what are your thoughts on this Anon ?

Buying the dip has been a golden opportunity of buying more of a coin with the same amount that would have given a lesser amount of coin from it's previous high although, it shouldn't be seen as a primary strategy for accumulating Bitcoin but it should be a secondary strategy without over doing it.

109  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Selling BTC for Alt Coins? on: May 10, 2024, 09:37:44 AM
I have around 2.1k in btc rn and was wondering if I should sell it and invest in a couple of altcoin projects, would that be a good idea? I know Bitcoin will never ever do another 5x in the near future haha so that's kind of why I would wanna sell. The market cap of btc would have to reach a very high amount for it to be life-changing money to me.

Before selling your Bitcoin investment which should be preferably part of your investment it should be that you have achieved your investment goals and objectives and while considering diversification investing on non Bitcoin related should be the best such as  real life investment such as selling commodities, lands etc. yeah it is good investing in different assets or commodities.

111  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which coin is more profitable? on: May 10, 2024, 08:54:54 AM
Just one bitcoin
Bitcoin is the most profitable crypto to all investors. Bitcoin is the first digital asset to hit the crypto market. In fact it was more profitable for its early investors.

Bitcoin has proven beyond every reasonable dout to be the best and has stand out of the crowd of so many coins, it has a solid foundation, it's performance determines the performance of other coins, it has shown a tremendous increments in it's value and widespread adoption, Bitcoin is a king and shouldn't be compared with any other coins and it is still profitable if an investor could buy up to a reasonable amount while holding for a longer period of time 4 to 10 years or more in other to have a compounded value of their investment.
112  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Post halving, why are altcoins the most affected on: May 09, 2024, 07:49:30 PM
Bitcoin halving might have come and gone, but we won't forget the immediate impact it had on the crypto market especially altcoins, The immediate impact of the halving this year is not like business as usual when we always have a bull run after the halving event, we are experiencing a decline in price in Bitcoin and the crypto market in general with altcoins the most affected, some altcoins witnessed a 50% decline in price, while most experienced a slight decline in price,  Analytically some investors have predicted a bull run by next year which will also in turn affect the rise in price of some altcoins too, so putting this into consideration there are few altcoins to put our eyes on so we can Hodl which is the ETH and DOGE as they might experience a significant bull run in less than no time,

Yeah it has been said that historical events is not a guarantee of the future events and this what every investor should have in mind by focusing on seeing historical events as only a guide for the future events, altcoins coins was not just affected but is as a result of the fact that there performance solely depends on Bitcoin, while Bitcoin went down after the halving it was also expected that other coins will go down too.

113  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Investing in a newly project is worth it or not ? on: May 09, 2024, 07:40:29 PM
Guys i am a trader but i never invested in the new projects but i know some guys who perform trading on newly projects and take a good profit from it so i am decided to do that as well so i found a project called Minerpepe and its offers mining through the smart contract i have checked the dapp their pools are not live but when i connect my wallet nothing is stolen so its look safe and when i dig more i found out their fairlaunch on pinksale is coming in next 24 hours and after the launch their pools got live i have witnessed a projects who offers good rewards through mining pool for the early birds so what you guys think participating in the initial sale of a token is safe or not?
Website link given below

Website: https://minerpepe.com/

Everybody's option can never be the same while others may invest in new project there are also those who will not invest, so every one must figure out the one that suits him or her in terms of your psychology there is different from others, stick to what you believe in and see possibilities.the choice of whether to invest in new project or not will be a sole decision of an investor and not from a public opinion. But however, many will want to be part of a new project.
114  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are you taking advantage of this red market? on: May 09, 2024, 07:35:02 PM
Well recently the market is in a bad mood. and I'm sure many of us are wondering why.  While there's no single answer, recent news suggests factors like Hong Kong ETF disappointments and the Fed's interest rate decisions are influencing Bitcoin's downward trend.

As we know, altcoins often follow Bitcoin's lead. This dip in BTC has also dragged down Ethereum and others, potentially creating excellent buying opportunities for those who might have hesitated before.

I know you guys will be asking me, why is this post when time's going out? To answer you, I'm already taking the dip. It's a good thing that some exchanges even started events, I am also currently trading some BTC and ETH in a trade to mine event on Bitget to earn some BGB rewards.

Well people might want to know that you guys think this is a perfect opportunity now to load up on BTC and ETH? I think people should take this as the perfect time to buy the dip while the dip exists now.

The market is full of so much uncertainty, even buying the dip might not be possible for some reasons and for some people many may not have make plans ahead of buying the dip financial while many may also panic about trying to time the market for more dip which may or may not come thereby causing missing of buying opportunities and there are also those who only make purchases only if the market seens to be in a bull run.
115  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to find and hold in Atlcoin effectively? on: May 09, 2024, 07:26:37 PM
This is my process for finding an Altcoin (new project) for long-term investment
It is almost impossible to find new altcoins for long term investments, altcoins are generally short term projects, and that's most especially the new projects that lack any utility. I am afraid that one can go through all the steps you mentioned in your OP and still end up buying a scam/worthless project and that's because it is pretty difficult to find a new project that is sustainable for the long term.

Having said that, because of the lack of utility in altcoins, i buy only Bitcoin, but if i must advise people on altcoins, i'd tell them to purchase altcoins that have been in the market for sometime and already have a "strong" community.

Yes I agree with you on this there is no other coin that holds long term potential except Bitcoin because it has a more solid foundation and it performance determines the performance of other coins, other coins are just for short term profits maximization and at most time staying longer in most other coins except Bitcoin can lead to losses. Ot is only Bitcoin that has hodling potentials.
116  Economy / Economics / Re: Debt Management. on: May 09, 2024, 03:30:01 PM
I have seen so many replies implying that taken a loan is bad I will like to say that it is normal for anyone to express him or herself but generally, there are different kinds of loan and different reasons why people takes loan. But however, everyone has to stick to whatever you feel will work for you. To me, what is obtainable is that out of 100% of people that are involved in loan 80% are successful.
117  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: what things can do if i hodle for long time crypto on: May 09, 2024, 02:00:56 PM

what are methods you used to forget the market conditions and keep hodl?

In my story , i always log to twitter and see what is happing , see coinmarketcap always, see youtube videos related to crypto. so this makes me sometimes panic , fear.

please update what things you do

Self conviction is the best key, putting other peoples opinions before yours can be very detrimental, decide on what you want as a person by not following crowd or doing things just because that is what others are doing or seens to be talking about, this is the strategy I feel could help you make an informed decisions. You need to have that personal believe of working towards the possibilities of achieving your expected goals and objectives.
118  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Between new tokens and old tokens, which would you invest into? on: May 09, 2024, 12:28:04 PM
Old token new token they are both risky but there is an adage that says, the devil you know is better than the angel you don't know, preferably old project may seen to have been known quite well than the new projects you are not familiar with, however they both have prons and cons but it is better to involve in an old project you know than the new project with promises you can not be sure of.
119  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are your doing for now? on: May 09, 2024, 12:21:16 PM
Start of January is like blessing for crypto market. Crypto market start pumping from last few months but in January, it speeds up. Even Good news like Bitcoin ETFs get approved a days ago. But suddenly market gets unpredictable. I mean it went to correction mode, and then get recovered. then dump again And now trying to pump. Situation is confusing. So what are you doing now?

1 Buy Altcoins from Dip
2 Selling altcoins, to buy more cheap during halving
3 Doing DCA Only
4 just watching the market like me

Am watching the market for now am really that stable financially knowing full well that such business has to do with understanding how much of discretional or disposable income one have after taken care of your personal needs. No one should get involved with when you not ready financially and emotionally in oder to for you to be able to make good decisions.
120  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Meme and Alt Coins investors, how do you treat with your conscience? on: May 09, 2024, 12:12:55 PM
No altcoin are short investment it's only the investors who chooses to go for long term or short term investment. Therefore if anyone is investing in altcoin he should be able to know what he wants if is long or short depending on the potential of the project although most of the investors mostly choose short term if the project is not solid enough for long time especially those over hyped coin flying everywhere people might rush to invest thinking it would last for long but believe me after early investors pull out there investment the project could be left with nothing making those who chooses for long hold worthless coin their custody.

Yeah , you are very correct and that is why majority are always confused about involvement in other coins than Bitcoin, the risk involvement in other coins are really much as when compared with Bitcoin, in other coins you have to consider whether to invest in an old or new project digging so much analysis, researches just for you not to be a victim of fallen in to a wrong project, however everyone needs to understand his or her risk tolerance level before getting involve in any of those.
