101  Economy / Services / Re: Bounty for Cracking Bitmain S9 BMminer on: September 01, 2016, 02:32:44 PM
Great work here. Thanks for your efforts.

I would also like to see this working on kano.is since that is where I mine exclusively.

Thanks!

I'd be happy to paint my truck green if you think that will make a difference Smiley

Same for me. Cannot login. Must not be fully back up yet.

Edit: Of course I guess I could have read Kano's posting Smiley

I have been watching this thread with high hopes that a working updated firmware with version 4.9.2 of cgminer will surface.

Still committed to sending BTC for the reward in the amount I promised once a working version is available and tested on an S9.

Thanks!

I would be interested in testing a development version that has fan control in addition to frequency control.

That would be handy in summer months to change settings at night when my ambient temps are lower.

You can try the feature in the development version 1.7.8. You can enable download of development versions in Options -> "Check for development versions". Then you close the Options dialog and go to Menu -> "Check for updates".

You will find the Antminer Fan settings next to the existing Antminer frequency settings (In toolbar: Tools -> Antminer).

I'm still not sure if the Fan feature actually is working on all Antminers. If you experience any problems, set the fan speed back to Default, and Awesome Miner will revert all changes.
I did have one user that couldn't get this feature to work, but I don't have all details on that case yet.
Please share any findings on this.

When I tried the fan settings on my S9 it wiped all the settings and I was unable to restore to defaults from within Awesome Miner. The miner appeared offline to Awesome Miner, but I still had access via the web interface which showed all settings as blank even after a reboot. I had to perform a reset on the miner and re-enter all settings.

Speed settings seemed fine though.

108  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Antminer S7 & PSU with warranty for only $320/miner on: August 10, 2016, 04:41:51 AM
I have to admit that the warranty issues I have been reading lately have me more than a little hesitant to buy any other products from Bitmain. Too much BTC / USD at risk. Even with my good past experience with five various Antminer products.

If you happen to have an edu email address you can also get a 25% student / academic discount from microchipDIRECT. My order was just under $48 shipped for the PICkit 3 + the Programming Cable Kit.

You can find it cheaper but shipping was fast and that price works for me.

I would be willing to pay $100 also and I do not even have an S9 yet. I would order one if the firmware was changed to allow CGminer 4.9.2 to work.

I believe he is referring to Ubuntu 16.04.

Thanks for the new v0.7.0 release. All three systems upgraded smoothly and paid for ad removal.

115  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: How loud is a Rockminer R-Box (100ghs) on: April 08, 2016, 02:00:08 AM
My R-Box has been a reliable and very quiet miner. First Bitcoin miner I bought and still running.

It is as at least quiet as two of my Gridseed orbs. Fans are small at 70 MM if I am not mistaken, but not loud at all.

I do not have a means of measuring the sound output, but I do not think you would consider it loud compared to an S3 miner.

I hope that helps.

Well that is interesting. I do see that option available now.

Thanks!

So I have a question about using a coupon. I have one listed on my account, but it is not clear how to apply it to my order. There is no place to enter that I wish to use a coupon. Is this automatically applied at checkout or what?

Thanks!

I agree. If I have any misbehaving or defective hardware I would hope it could be identified so I can shut it down. I would also be open to repayment to the pool as appropriate as long as supporting facts to back up the calculation of the BTC owed.

A PM would be an appropriate means of contact to prevent any hurt feelings in the case of a poor choice of hardware.

I speak for myself only, and my words are not meant to represent any other individual. I like this pool and want to do right by it.
