101  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2013-04-01 New York Magazine "Is Bitcoin Too Popular for it's Own Good?" on: April 02, 2013, 07:39:16 PM
I already hold on to my money till I absolutely have to spend it.  bitcoin just gives me more incentive to hold on longer.

everything else is a bubble.
103  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: can I use a work computer? on: April 02, 2013, 07:23:42 PM
Check with the company first..

some network admin had all the computers looking for aliens (SETI@home) a few years ago.  when the company (university i think) found out He was fired and taken to court for $100k or some large amount. some of it for legitimate electrical costs, some for "lost cpu time" or something, they would have been idle anyway.  I think they settled.

LiteCoin mining is more profitable with cpu.

LitcoinPyramid anytime soon?
105  Economy / Speculation / Re: Early adopters cleaning up fiat debts? on: March 21, 2013, 10:22:07 AM
My first Bitcoin purchase was at $0.50 with coin pal.  I made a few other transactions before that with the faucet and some others, but I deleted the wallet (tx the coins out)

I have not had the money to put in like I wanted to, an lost a fair amount in the first drop from $30.

I have been able to live more comfortably because of Bitcoin.  Some from the referral programs, and did decent with exchange arbitrage this time last year.

I feel better about loosing money to a fellow Bitcoin user than some hedge fund bankster.
106  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: When will it go mainstream ? on: March 21, 2013, 12:36:12 AM
Hedge funds are in the process of using bitcoin.
mtgox is becoming more regulated.

there are instructions for a paper wallet on here.
many people will offer to set one up for you.
do it yourself is safest.
do a couple small transactions, to get to know it.

I just finished building a BSIC rig out of parts I found at a hacker space.

keep your coins in your wallets, only put small amounts in the exchanges.

seems like I get about $10 worth of btc every other week.
would be nice if someone on a marketing found this site.

Someone just mentioned ZigGap in #bitcoin-otc

I thought they meant ZipZap.

I found out about ZipZap last week when I tried to use BitInstant.  Somewhere between BitInstant, ZipZap, MoneyGram and CVS someone screwed up my name. From this screw up no one could fix it, with out me starting a new order, I wasn't about to do that from my phone.

Someone posted a link in IRC. to ZigGap, took a look, and I'll give it a try next pay check.

I missed this...when/where did pirate say that?

Pirateat40:
freenode.net #btcst
Link from the topic: http://pastebin.com/DVNsx7xz

Content from Link:
Q: What's going on?
A: In short, one of my largest clients decided they would make things difficult for me.  In the heat of the moment I made a move to secure the USD backing the coins when they were not returned and has made things much more difficult.

Q: Where have you been?
A: I realize not having information is annoying and somewhat concerning. I’ve stopped responding publicly until hard information was available due to some legal concerns that developed.  Once the attorneys (both mine and my clients) got involved, everything slowed down while everything was sorted out.

Q: When will we get our coins?
A: As of today the earliest estimated time that coins can begin moving is Friday, Oct 12th.  I can only keep you updated on this date as I have more information.

Q: Why did you require PPT operators to submit their account holders information?
A: There’re a few reasons for doing this.  The largest of which was to remove the PPT operators from the added risk of their users claiming they were not paid once the main account was paid. The other reasons can not be disclosed.

Q: What is going to happen with bond issuers?
A: Since bonds can be traded and have taken a large hit due to the closure of BTCST, I’ll be working with the bond issuers to find a solution that best suits their investors.

Also...

Those looking to file a suit against me or BTCST will not be eligible for repayment.

GPUMAX has never been associated with BTCST nor have any of it’s partners.  GPUMAX shared a wallet with one of the BTCST operating wallets for security and is now running it’s own secured wallet which is no longer associated with BTCST.

Threats are taken seriously by myself and my attorney.  A few of you will find out how serious I mean.

That’s all for now, I’ll be providing updates here when more information is available.

Thanks

I find Bitcoin useful for legal marketing strategies, although not very far reaching at this point.

I am working on a site that should increase Bitcoin popularity, the back end is still in development and hasn't reached beta, I need some alternative income so I don't have to waste my efforts on a day job just to get by.
117  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Trip, Around the world. on: September 28, 2012, 12:49:57 AM
is there a picture of a bitbill?

http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-lIFPCuq6UGY/TdHezwdF23I/AAAAAAAAB4Y/zg1ckADfJV0/s1600/bitbill.jpg

I have one in my pocket, picture is not mine.  along with a few casascius coins too.

I was hopping I'd be able to save my btc, and spend them on a trip, however I've been spending them more than earning them lately (cash out).

Currently On hold in Las Vegas untill I build up a decent savings, and income.

So I was wondering if there is an alternative to googleadsense using bitcoins?

Operation fabulous

Check my site for some more I'm on my phone and forget some of them.  OpticBit.org

I get a little bit almost every day from every referral site I've joined.  Some days I get $10, and rarely I get $100.
