Cheesy

103  Local / Майнеры / Re: Avalon ASIC (китай) on: July 15, 2013, 06:33:50 AM
Grin
104  Local / Майнеры / Re: Avalon ASIC (китай) on: July 15, 2013, 05:25:42 AM

Cgminer (07/03 firmware) submit "stale" shares to a pool or discard it by default?
I found that mmpool have incredible low reject rate 0.0022% (64/2862167 diff1 and fixed difficulty = 32) but have "stale" ~0.17% (5216/2862167 diff1)
so my "stale" shares accepted by pool or not?  Huh
At any other pool I have 0.2-0.3% normal reject rate.

Just finished modification of my black box Smiley
I applied arctic cooling mx-4 on heatsink's bottom of the modules. (~10g used on 3 modules)
Fan1 (replaced with Scythe Glide Stream) and additional fan ran at full speed (~1900 rpm)
PSU external.
Case closed.
FrequencyFan1Fan2Fan3Temp1Temp2Temp3
350024002400284647
HW errors: 1.5%
724W from wall. (~85% load (efficiency level 88%) of Stock 80+ gold rated 750W PSU ENM750EWT-S RG)
And Now temps and fan speed in acceptable range Smiley

demkd ,
I use BFGminer. cgminer don`t work with my avalon Huh no one fpga and avalon in my system don`t work with cgminer. only bfgminer working. where I can see logs?
For gpu you can press G key to get the stats. For avalon... I dunno Smiley
You can get stats for sure using "stats" API command (see. API-README.txt)
109  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon ASIC users thread on: July 08, 2013, 01:51:24 PM
is tnat one?
Yes.

ok, I have Corsair AX 1200 power souply. if I run this as external psu, is good?
Good PSU Smiley
Then check cgminer api log, may be you have defective module.

I`m trying to reset but still nothing. ping coming, but I can`t conect to tp-link. may be i do something wrong. Smiley
I never do it by myself, but someone managed to reset this router successfully https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=140539.msg2673018#msg2673018

So if I have inside  750W? there is no reason to change? a model is  unknown ... something in Chinese written on it.
 is stable at 300MHz, 325 goes to idle mode and orange light blinking. the temperature is not more than 48 degrees. it is the power supply or something else? I connected directly to PC because my TP-link internal router not working
Move out PSU from case.
I run my avalon with external PSU at 336 with 750 stock PSU (Enermax ENM750EWT-S RG) and it never restarts.
Tested @354 but noise level unacceptable, 750w PSU easily handle moderately overclocked units.
if problem still occurs than check you "cgminer api log"
It must be something like that (my unit @336 2 days w/o restart):
   [no_matching_work] => 0
   [match_work_count1] => 20069
   [match_work_count2] => 20320
   [match_work_count3] => 20197
   [match_work_count4] => 19944
   [match_work_count5] => 20103
   [match_work_count6] => 19962
   [match_work_count7] => 19976
   [match_work_count8] => 20163
   [match_work_count9] => 20064
   [match_work_count10] => 19961
   [match_work_count11] => 20056
   [match_work_count12] => 20235
   [match_work_count13] => 20173
   [match_work_count14] => 20481
   [match_work_count15] => 20215
   [match_work_count16] => 20042
   [match_work_count17] => 20044
   [match_work_count18] => 19992
   [match_work_count19] => 20040
   [match_work_count20] => 20398
   [match_work_count21] => 19627
   [match_work_count22] => 19978
   [match_work_count23] => 20354
   [match_work_count24] => 20186
All counters have almost same values. (~5% diffs) if not you have defective modules or some module overheated (usually second module w/o temp sensor ).

And you can try to reset your router, may be it's not dead.

I can recommend Corsair AX860i platinum. Not expensive.
But If you want best available PSU than get Seasonic 860 platinum.
If you remove stock PSU from the case (to prevent overheating) than any 750W PSU is good. (at 354 clock 3 module avalon drain only 630w from PSU (735-740w from wall for gold rated PSU))
112  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon ASIC users thread on: July 07, 2013, 12:05:22 PM
Is it a normal symptom of OCing too much that the tplink stops responding?
No, but may be router overheating is a cause and active wi-fi interface is not a good idea.
Avalon cooling is implemented extremely poorly so overheating common problem for PSU & router.

Make sure that your PSU is not dead before doing anything.

You can try restore factory defaults: (I never try it Smiley)
picture https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/File:Avalon-703n-front.JPG
1. Reboot (Power Down and then UP)
2. When the blue LED starts flashing, press the SW2 button
3. Stop pressing the SW2 when the blue LED starts flashing quickly

At this time the router is in failsafe mode.

4. Telnet 192.168.0.100. It will take you to the root prompt.
5. Enter "firstboot" at the prompt to reset the router to defaults
6. Restart

If router is dead you can replace it with tplink 703n or connect avalon to computer via USB.

Is that only how it is shown or maybe the fans are connected to the wrong output ? How to find out ?
Yes, sensors messed up, #3 sensor in module located near PSU, #2 sensor in last module, fans counted from thin fan. Temp sensors connectors located near thin fan you can easily swap it. (3-wire connectors).

I recommend move last module to #4 position and move air spoiler to #3 position.
Today I move module to #4 position and replaced thin fan with Scythe Glide Stream PWM (1900rmp) and added extra fan at left exhaust hole. (extra fan at center effective but heat build up in last module)

Now I have:
Chip frequency 336:
Fan1 Fan2 Fan3 T1 T2 T3
0 2400 2640 29 48 49 (27C room temperature, Fan1 and extra fan connected to PSU and run constantly at ~1900rpm)
697W from wall (80+Gold PSU)

Chip frequency 350:
Fan1 Fan2 Fan3 T1 T2 T3
0 2520 2640 29 50 50
726W from wall
115  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon ASIC users thread on: July 03, 2013, 01:44:15 PM
Did you change the location of the intake and outlet temperature sensors?
Your fan speed settings are based on those values...
No, I don't know where sensors located Smiley
116  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon ASIC users thread on: July 03, 2013, 01:38:45 PM
time maybe the watchdog restarts the process if no hashing is done?
No, in my case cgminer won't hashing on previous firmware after change of settings or reboot, now it starts hashing immediately Smiley
117  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon ASIC users thread on: July 03, 2013, 01:15:23 PM
Fixed one longstanding bug where it would occasionally fail to start yay. \o/
Thanks, this firmware works for me, changed cgminer settings/chip frequencies several times and miner starts without problem Smiley
Today tried flashing 07/02 firmware w/o keep settings flag and get not working cgminer, so bug fixed only in 07/03... at least for me Smiley
118  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon ASIC users thread on: July 03, 2013, 11:35:12 AM
I inverted fans on my unit now they take out warm air from the box. (PSU removed)
Fan1/Fan2/Fan3/T1/T2/T3
Before: 1560 2520 2640 26 45 47 (temperature in my room 25C)
After:   1440 2160 2280 33 43 44
But thin fan now seems useless, vibration slightly increased fan and noise changed to lower frequencies Cheesy
I think cooling in this way more effective Wink
119  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon ASIC users thread on: July 03, 2013, 05:44:48 AM
That's unusual. It should work out to 42:300 now. Did you start with a fresh configuration or have you always done "keep settings" from the old firmware?
Yes, I flashed with "keep settings", I will try reflash later today w/o keeping settings.
120  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon ASIC users thread on: July 03, 2013, 05:35:16 AM
I'm not really sure why this happens, but it appears to happen when code outside of cgminer kills it, so I suspect it's because it's not allowing it time to shut down properly and perhaps the API port is still bound to the old zombie process and you're not seeing the new one mining, or the new cgminer process is fighting the old one for access to the device.
But I see only one cgminer process, and unit not mining at this time (I have watt meter ~34W at idle) and GetWorks slowly incresing over time so It's a same process.
I see difference in options  & 07/02 frimware:
06/07 frimware: --avalon-options 115200:24:10:43:300 (mining)
07/02 frimware: --avalon-options 115200:24:10:38:300 (not mining & zero temps displayed)
What timeout value means?
