Im curious as to what these go for ?

It's now available on eBay for $250: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=171024628445

"what these go for" - what a buyer is willing to pay and what a seller is willing to accept.

How long is a piece of string?
102  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Whos Achronix and why do they have a 22nm 1.1m LUT chip? on: April 14, 2013, 04:32:23 PM
And propably lack of free software. I didn't see any free oferings from them. And tools like that costs 1000's of $.

Is their place and route software expensive (not counting 3rd party synthesis and timing analysis tools)

It's included in their dev kit, which is $13000. Other vendors charge about 3 grand for their software, the Achronix FPGA costs about 3 grand - thus, I'd say, Achronix charges you more for the software, basically 9 grand or so. Do the math.

hi

if i remeber it was sold around 200 something us dollar

so i would buy at same price

let me know

thanks

No, it was slightly over 400 Euros, which equates to slightly over 500 bucks.
I don't expect you to pay 500 bucks.
Make me a REASONABLE offer via PM, and I will put up an eBay auction just for you.
You can then buy it via 'buy it now'.

105  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL silent these past days? on: April 13, 2013, 05:37:42 AM
They are also preparing several dev units and were able to up the performance of Luke-Jr's unit to 34 GH/s.

34? Looks more like 28 GH/s.

Just quoting a rumor heard in the BFL forum shoutbox. Maybe it was wrong.
106  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL silent these past days? on: April 13, 2013, 04:37:27 AM
They are not silent at all - today they released a promotional video on their website.
They are also preparing several dev units and were able to up the performance of Luke-Jr's unit to 34 GH/s.

While I am hear eager to receive what I ordered and prepaid 9 months ago, this is not the time to panic, nor is it a time to bitch and moan. If I want to hear bitching, I listen to my wife. If I want to hear moaning, I listen to "Bella", a trained professional.

In a nutshell: Good things come to those who wait.
107  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Whos Achronix and why do they have a 22nm 1.1m LUT chip? on: April 10, 2013, 03:49:17 AM
Ive also contacted them.

Thanks for the heads up, just about to send an email for a HD1000 Dev Board.

I already have 6 Spartan6x150's on their way, but damn.

Whats the direct link??

Their Contact Form: http://www.achronix.com/company/contact-us.html

I'm already in contact with a rep from them named Ken, setting up to by a dev board, then possibly some HD1500 22i's.

Does anyone have a price quote for the dev board yet?
And/or the FPGA itself?
108  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL RIP OFF... price up 90%, 50GH/s for 2499$. on: April 05, 2013, 04:35:11 AM
Yeah who cares?  They could set the price at $10,000 each if they wanted like Avalon did.  That doesn't make it a rip off - don't buy it if you think it is.  No one is forcing you to buy ASICs.

This.
109  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: First BFL ASIC! on: April 02, 2013, 04:01:45 AM
Quote
Before April 1st 2013, at least one BFL customer with a bitcointalk.org forum account established prior to the bet's opening date shall post detailed and credible photos of the device on the forum, including photos of it operating, and report its hashrate. This customer cannot be a BFL employee.

Show me the post where Luke reported its hashrate.

It's visible in the picture.
110  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [VIDEO] Butterfly Labs (BFL) Bitforce SC ASIC Test on: March 30, 2013, 04:53:27 AM
does it even MH/s!

The more important question is:
WILL IT BLEND?
111  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL ready to ship? on: March 10, 2013, 03:25:55 PM
Guys, relax.
There won't be much thermal cycling as a typical miner will be on 100% of the time.
Unlike a typical PC which is turned on once a day and turned off once a day.
112  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon will ship 290 units by tomorrow, correct? on: February 26, 2013, 02:52:02 PM
I'm sorry to open this thread but it looks like no one is worried about this.
What's really happening? Can we have an ufficial word?

Only ~5% of the units works properly?

No, not by TOMORROW. Tomorrow is the 27.  They promised to ship all 300 units by the 28th, which is the day after.
Thus, they can ship 145 units tomorrow and 145 units the day after.
/sarcasm

Josh just updated his status thread: The chips have arrived at the bumping facility.
114  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon ASIC users thread on: February 12, 2013, 05:29:12 AM
That entire heatsink on each card is saturated at 50C!  Holy hell on a crutch!

Are those IR pics accurate?  That seems excessive... if it actually is 40 - 50C, what's going to happen to them in hot weather?

Maybe Jeff can heat up a room to 85F or so and let it run to see what happens.

Why would he want to do that?   I think we can guess what happens. Either they slow down or it hits a temp cutoff that shuts down mining.  FYI, high temperatures will have adverse effects on mining operations.  What happens to BFL singles when they get too hot, they down-clock until they are within the optimal temperature range.

I don't know if you noticed, but many parts of the world get to be 85F or more during the summer months.  Personally, I would want to know if my expensive mining hardware was going to shutdown when the temp rose as it would dictate how much power I had to consume to cool the thing with an AC unit.  Maybe you don't care, but I sure as hell would.

In many places where I have lived it is 85F when the air conditioner is running.

And if Al Gore is right, more and more places will be like that.
Rumor has it, he and his cronies are buying up huge swathes of land in Alaska and northern Canada for future pineapple and sugarcane plantations...
115  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Someone just ordered 8 BFL FPGA singles under my name... on: February 03, 2013, 05:24:21 AM
Well, you didn't happen to buy anything from BFL before have you?

Did, too. A total of 25 singles and a Minirig. 30 grand, man. Made it back, too...
116  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Someone just ordered 8 BFL FPGA singles under my name... on: February 03, 2013, 05:16:13 AM
I just received an email claiming that the I ordered a bfl single. I have a feeling that Avalon's email list has been compromised...
I think so too. Bitsyncom was saying the shopping site for Avalon was being DDOS'ed a couple of days before the launch of Batch #2 sales. Now with the whole WalletBit fiasco, I think some competitor is trying to ruin Avalon.

I think this is the other way around - vendor A wants to prevent vendor B from shipping product, by creating a huge workload for their sales department and customer support.

Just my 2 cents...
117  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Someone just ordered 8 BFL FPGA singles under my name... on: February 03, 2013, 05:13:04 AM
You use the same password on both sites?

I use two passwords - one for mailing lists, online shopping and such, and the other for banking.

So, yes, I did use the same password for BFL and for Avalon.
118  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Someone just ordered 8 BFL FPGA singles under my name... on: February 03, 2013, 05:02:17 AM
Didn't even know you could still buy FPGA singles from BFL's website...  Huh

I don't know, either, but I just got 5 order confirmation emails for 2+2+2+1+1 FPGA singles from BFL.
Very odd.
119  Bitcoin / Hardware / Someone just ordered 8 BFL FPGA singles under my name... on: February 03, 2013, 04:51:32 AM
...and the prime suspect is Avalon. Stress out the customer support of the competition a little bit...

I registered for news from Avalon just a few days ago, in order to be in the loop about batch 2 and subsequent batches, but not in my wildest dreams would I have thought that they harvest my password and use it to place 5 fake orders with BFL for a total of 8  FPGA singles.

If the Avalon folks are innocent of this bizarre scheme, I apologize.
But if it walks like a duck, squawks like a duck...
