I will never understand why people who do not like a coins spend all their time in that coin's thread saying how much they do not like the coin. Wouldn't it be better to go find a coin you like.

Some people cant stand to see others having success. So they jump on every new thread (sometimes with half a dozen sockpuppet accounts) and try to drive it into the dirt. If it has success anyway they just get more butthurt and fud harder on the next one.

No bro, I hope you die a billionaire, I really do, as long as you aren't an asshole.

However, your believing the load of shit that is this coin's OP is going to be one more stumbling block on your way to that fate.

Another day, another ICO SCAM with Bobsurplus and C-cex scam exchange, nice

Haha. Even Bob wishes that were the case. He'll buy 2 BTC worth and try to get in tight with the dev, who will turn out to be a 0-hour horizon full scammer. Not even Bob will be able to work with the dev who will start dumping 20s after the ICO is over because they need to get started making cool OP pix for the next ICO.

What do you want from me? SHIFT is you product. I am just angry customer Wink

You are not a "customer". Idiot.

You still lose your wallet to the hacker.

No you don't. It's random junk without the password.

Really I had 50btc worth of coin and it gets hacked! Random junk to me is it? You think I give a shit the hacker can't use it? I would prefer he could...

Your password was shit on some level or you downloaded some sort of video decoder to watch porn and installed it as the admin user on your windows box. That's the user component of security and it's the hardest part because you can't fix dumbass.

How was the password effective in the slightest when I have no coin in my wallet because the wallet isn't there? Stop dodging it with me watching porn because lets face it for someone who thinks he knows you really know shit. What porn installed is going to hunt for wallets. You are terrible. More to the point who actually installs anything for that in 2015?

If it's a backup issue, put your encrypted wallet on dropbox or mediafire. Problem solved.

A private key is small and hierarchical. You can just encrypt the private key and put it in a jpeg with steganography, then upload it to imgur. Maybe I'll ICO a coin that does that. 400 BTC target.

You can always tell a fud guy coz they lock in on one sentence at the start of a post and ignore all else. They repeat it forever just the same copy/paste over and over. If the project is a success they get even more angry and will fud harder and harder on every project to come. Yes they are an entertainment but brand new to crypto people sometimes believe them.

Sometimes the knowledgeable lock in on one issue because they can never get the ignorant to move past their ignorance.

I'm going to say it one time as simply as I can, but in a way you lemmings probably won't understand.

Digital security is the fusion of two domains: 1. the cryptographic domain, 2. the human domain. The cryptography is the easy part, just pick a good crypto system. The human domain is the hard part. This coin wants you to entrust the human part with the whatever these anonymous devs come up with. That's just plain stupid.

Your best bet is to understand security on a personal level and not to defer it to people who have a 90% chance of being scammers--not that I think it will get that far, this coin will be dead before any of the bullshit they advertise is ever released.

I'd get in too if I thought Bob could pump it. But (1) his track record recently is horrible. Bot went nowhere, clt was a scam from the start. (2) even if he wasn't tapped out, he couldn't pump this bullshit because there is nothing sensible about it.

yea, i stand on the ground of security.. long passphrases, 2fa, etc

Long passphrases and stuff  Cheesy This person thought they had it all figured out as well.

On another note there are obviously many people who know what's up with this project! 73btc eaten. Hoping the links on how to set up a masternode are correct for this coin because I spent a few hours lastnight making sure I know them well enough to get set straight up.

So did these people:

I for one think it's extremely important to protect my money with as much security possible.

That sure is, lets take the guys examle above. Just encrypt your wallet and all will be good, imo that does nothing the wallet.dat can and will still be stolen from you/your machine and then what? The hacker then will more than likely brute force it and get the funds.

Good passwords look like this: B2p!@rW+HK5{N<QF!JD;$5"'*_-!s~b?!PK#DW$U

It can't be brute-forced in the lifetime of the universe using all the power of a million suns.
111  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ANN- CryptBit- MasterNodes- Pos 3.0- ICO on C-CEX- Security Centric For All on: September 27, 2015, 09:03:29 AM
The best form of wallet security is a password. Uh yea, that's why 2FA is in place on all major exchanges, and they take no responsibility for users not using 2FA.

You sound like someone arguing that horses are fine, we do not need automobiles.

When in reality the problems CryptBit is addressing are real problems. Better security, cloud backups, crossing borders, the risks of holding crypto on local machines only.

How many of those scam ico's you invested in have things like libsec and POS3? And establish masternodes at the start to ensure a robust community and network?

The best form of wallet security is an encrypted wallet. Cloud storage is not security, it's backup. There's a big difference. If you want to cloud backup a wallet, encrypt it and put it on dropbox.

Anyway, what do I know? I'm just some random guy on the internet, like the devs who want you to entrust your crypto to their software.

You really are missing the point. The idea of storing dat files on dropbox is stupid. Dropbrox gets crawled for dat files. A cloud account with 2fa or biometric access requirement is completely different. Repeating your horse argument does not make it any more correct. Just search the forum for the phrase "my wallet got hacked. "

It's not stupid to store dat files on dropbox if they are encrypted with a strong password. So what if dropbox gets crawled for dat files. If the password is good, then the dat file is useless.

You rely on encrypted communication every day. All banking transfers are communicated with encrypted packets, and the least of the banks worries are packet sniffers trying to intercept those transactions.

2fa is merely a second password. The security is approximately additive: a clueless user's shitty password + a reasonably strong ever-changing pseudorandom password = a whole lot better than the shitty password alone.

In the end it comes down to the strength of the password and the ability of the user to protect it.

This coin claims that you are better served to give up your authentication to these anonymous devs. It's craziness and anyone who buys into it is either hoping against hope for a pump, or has no idea what security is.

Anyone know about this vault function? The timed release of coins? Like, beer money once a week or am i missing the point entirely.

You are missing that the whole premise of this coin is nonsense.

The best security for your funds is built into each and every wallet when you set a wallet passphrase.

What's the alternative here? Entrust an anonymous dev who hosts an ICO on c-cex to your coin security? C-cex said that they will never dox devs.

This is vaporware. I love a good ICO and have bought many I thought would turn out to be scams, but they usually had something plausible. I stay away from these where the premise makes no sense. This is one to stay away from.

Even Bob can't pump bullshit.

114  Economy / Exchanges / Re: C-CEX.com - Fast and Easy to Use CryptoCurrency EXchange (BTC / USD). 100+ coins on: September 26, 2015, 02:23:31 PM
Good job with this. Maybe I will stop bashing you guys at every opportunity. You need to start doxxing these devs. That dev does the same thing every time, when things go down hill he makes sexually deranged posts. He has about 10 sock puppet accounts. As others have mentioned he is no doubt the versa dev, who has been doxxed.
He does all his ICOs through c-cex and is going to drag you down with him if you let him keep it up. Trex has a policy to dox ICO devs now. You need to start doing it also or your reputation will become irreparable.

Thanks! We pay big attention for quality of ICO's we run. But it is always up to investors to do their own research. Of course we will protect them from obvious lies with refunds in case dev does no keep his word about stated coin parameters - which is mentioned in our ICO rules.

Do you have any plans to start doxxing devs? Investors can't be protected when the same devs are allowed to repeatedly hold bad ICOs at the same exchange. By the fact that he makes sexually deranged posts when he is done scamming victims, it is obvious that the versa dev, the ghostly dev, and the cleverbot dev are all the same person. There are several other examples. These ICOs were all hosted at c-cex and all ended badly. That it keeps happening makes it look like c-cex is complicit.

CLT dev deleted all discussion from his thread so I have to post it here again.

As there was information revealed in this post https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1189767 that dev was not even ready or started to develop promised functionality - we have to issue full refunds. As there was 2 stages for ICO price (400 and 500 sat) - some investors bought at 400 and some at 500.

I have 2 options:

1. Put an average price buy wall according on total amount of BTC gained and CLT sold.
2. Some of investors never sold their coins and did not play on market. So we can do direct refunds for them at the price they purchased CLT. For all other investors who did sells after ICO we will offer average buy wall from what is left after direct refunds.

I need good advise from community. Maybe someone can offer better option? I want to refund all investors asap and I will not delay it because of long debates. I will take decision shortly.

To prevent speculation because of refunds I also had to temporary remove coin from trading and balances. But all balances are stored and safe.

Sincerely, Yuriy.

Stop scamming. This is a bag coin.

Yup. I was out a long time ago. Might as well stop wasting your time on this one because I'm sure, not being a complete loser and all, you have better things to do?

EXPANSE HAS A HUGE PREMINE, basically unlimited amount of funds compared to what is being mined. In SHIFT the premine is minimal and will not be put in a smart contract. We will however use a third party escrow.

Regards

Can you elaborate on why you did not use a smart contract for escrow?

You are the dumbass because it is easily verifiable that the premine is not being dumped.

How does it feel to look so stupid?

Hello gents.  Please don't take this as FUD.

Show of hands, how many people are in the hole on their investment in this project?  I'm not invested in this project yet as I'm trying to figure out what exactly its' purpose is and where the value will come from.  I am aware of Frankocoin which has been around for a long time and I know that defaced has been involved in the cryptosphere for a long time, so it's obvious that he's a decent developer with a reputation for coming through.  But just forking Ethereum, changing hashing algorithms, and increasing the block time isn't necessarily innovation and doesn't really warrant a premine.  Although I'm glad their identities are public as that adds a LOT of trust.  Right now, I'm thinking 45k satoshis is fair value in the short term.

Has anyone done any blockchain analysis to see where pre-mined coins have gone so far?

1. The premine coins are in a multisignature escrow account, that takes a community consensus to spend.

2. The chart you showed is completely predictable because it looks just like any other coin that hit big exchanges very fast.

It would be nice to know how expanse will differentiate from ether. I'm buying shift right now, but once expanse settles and I get a read on what the devs plan, I may start buying expanse.

Wow another Jxyz#### celebrating other people's misery.

You got it wrong. I was saying karma will eventually find the scammers...all of them. They are a cancer to crypto and to humanity.

Oh, I agree with you there.
