101  Economy / Economics / Re: Investing Bitcoins? on: May 19, 2016, 04:33:51 PM
Please it been told many times on the forum invest only in safe investments and trades.I don't think the gambling sites and casinos are the best places to invest the coins, it's very risky and you could easily losing all your hard earned money without any earning. You can even invest in cloud mining for free and if you believe that it is profitable...then investing more and more ..Just know that investing is the option only who has experience and can analyze trends.
102  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do people store their bitcoin on a file, or on paper? on: May 17, 2016, 03:57:04 PM
Actually the online wallets are MUCH less safe. A hacker, for example, might gain control of the server and trick you into sending your private key / pass phrase or, if the private keys are stored on a server they could just take them.
Local solutions, preferably offline, are much more safe since the only way a hacker could get access is by breaking into your home. Given most of the hackers are in China, it's kind of unlikely they are going to buy a plane ticket, get a visa, fly to your country, try to find your paper wallet, etc....
By contrast, very likely thousands of them are attempting every minute to break into online wallet sites and hack them.

But if large agents such as Microsoft and Steam are actually allowing payments from bitcoin users; isn’t it safe to assume that the security of your bitcoin address has improved? Bitcoin is become a valuable commodity; therefore if more security measures need to be implemented, then I’m certain such action will be taken in due time if not immediately.
103  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin halving almost there... brace yourselves :-) on: May 17, 2016, 03:54:44 PM
I’m a miner and I’m not really sure how this is going to affect me; all I know is that my pay is going to be halved and it’s going to be fixed again if the value in bitcoin increases. In preparation I’ve already made sure that my side business is running well so if anything doesn’t go as planned, at least I’ve got my plan B.
104  Other / Off-topic / Re: what you like best in Bitcoin ? on: May 17, 2016, 03:48:21 PM
the annonymity, fast transaction, low transactions fee,
actually I like everything about bitcoin. And no chargeback like pp Grin

Not trying to sound greedy but I do like the value of bitcoin and the fact that its value is gradually increasing everyday. Also, it has really helped me in sticky situations which I’ll probably talk about them later but not now. Otherwise, I’m glad bitcoin is being noticed as currency to be used everywhere; when the time comes… I’ll be using bitcoin wherever I go.
105  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to teach someone about Bitcoin on: May 17, 2016, 03:41:28 PM
set up a bitcoin wallet for them, preferably an easy one not something like bitcoin core. i think options like Coinbase is good for start from zero knowledge about bitcoin, or an SPV wallet like Electrum.
then either teach them how to buy bitcoin or give them some to teach how receiving works and they can send to learn the sending part also.
only if the person is interested in technical stuff i would explain things like how mining work, and things like that.
also some speculation about the price never hurts.

In addition, let them experience some aspects on their own; experience is indeed the best teacher. Do let them rely on you all the time; though if they can’t seem to find what they are looking for, assist them and make sure they understand so that if they encounter the same problem again, they will be able to tackle it on their own.
106  Other / Off-topic / Re: What is your plan to get rich with Bitcoin? on: May 17, 2016, 03:40:01 PM
I just plan to stock up on bitcoins every time the price gets low enough. I will probably stay with bitcoin for a long time as it shows great promise in the coming years.

I don't have any big plan to get rich. honestly I do not think we could become rich with only bitcoin. bitcoin is a great source to earn money and gain daily needs. but it won't make you rich , because there is no way to earn that much bitcoins.
so my plan is to only earn some bucks everyday and that's it. I've collected some btc to halving. lets see.

You can become rich if you make proper planing. and work with dedication. hard works is necessary for success.
bitcoin can make you rich just need to do hard work with dedication, make a good plan and start to work on that. follow the real paths of earning ways. and you'll become rich one day. after one or 2 years.

At the moment, I’m looking for a legit cloud mining service since I can’t afford a good mining rig at the moment and not many if any are willing to accept a CPU in their mining pool. While I continue to search for one; I would invest the little amount of bitcoins that I have and continue working to keep earning as much as I can. When I finally get enough bitcoin to earn a mining rig, I’ll join a mining pool and go on a vacation with my hubby
107  Other / Off-topic / Re: How to motivate women to use Bitcoin? on: May 17, 2016, 03:38:19 PM
Motivating woman can be done on all kind of methods in my eyes its just a way of making it attractable to them if you ask me.

Your post reminds me of some advert for Heineken; the husband and wife finally bought a new house and they brought their friends along to show them around. The girls screamed when they saw all the clothes and makeup the wife had bought but the husbands friends screamed even louder when he showed them a huge fridge full of beer. The ladies came to check what was going on. So bring your friends to your house at let the scream at the price increase of bitcoin XD

109  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Your first bitcoins came from.. (faucets aside) on: May 15, 2016, 08:44:54 AM
My first bitcoins came from Primedice signature campaign way back September 2014. From then on, I started to buy a little amount of btc every month and I have never failed to do so for the past 10 months.

How'd you get your first bitcoins (faucets aside) and what did you do to them?

I received a nice tip of a whole Bitcoin, back when the price was close to $4/btc for the first time.
Trading BTC/USD was very exciting back then, and I made more than 5x profit over the next several months. Later, I spent them not expecting the eventual huge rallies above $32.

My first bitcoin was when I starting playing minecraft back in 2012; there was a server issuing out $10 in bitcoins to every player who reached the block placing/mining limit. The server is still up and running till today but the bitcoin funds are about to run out soon.
110  Economy / Economics / Re: USD vs BTC on: May 15, 2016, 08:43:33 AM
The dollar will win over and over because its way bigger and the bitcoin is even depending on the dollar.
I think it will be a long journey for the bitcoin to win from the dollar, maybe in about 20 years its possible.
yeah i think for bitcoin is still dependent on the dollar and bitcoin users still convert their dollars to buy something. then there is no possibility for bitcoin to overtake the dollar ?
bitcoin needed to be the main currency for users itself then bitcoin will be slightly stronger

Bitcoin really depends on dollars price that why bitcoin cannot surpass the value of dollar. And people are more using fiat money rather bitcoin.
I think we are not more than and lesser than 1% people of the world who are now using bitcoin.

Yes and dollar will always win in the long race as it holds maximum number of satisfied users, comparatively bitcoin has very less users at a moment.

As of now yes, but in the future I think Bitcoin will be really known by many. And also can be used broadly(as of now some e-commerce sites also started accepting bitcoin as payment). But I think it can't surpass the use of USD, because it is used and known by almost all worldwide.

Well it is true that Bitcoin isn’t as popular as the USD but the popularity is gradually increasing everyday. Companies are now using it as a form of payment and you can even receive bitcoin as a tip. Developing countries are the ones that are mostly in the dark; it would take a while for it’s popularity to rise but when it does, we can look forward to bitcoin being a global currency accepted worldwide.
111  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The war in Bitcoin community on: May 15, 2016, 03:42:56 AM
As for the drama surrounding Dr. Wraight I strongly believe that with his last post on his site we won't be seeing him anymore.
As he gave up to convince people that he indeed is Satoshi. There was no war in bitcoin community - there are only stances.

If people see Bitcoin as value for money in some case hackers will be involved at some point. Ever since Bitcoin started being noticed as the main net currency; certaintly high security systems need to be implemented. As the value of Bitcoin increases and eventually becomes a global curreny used worldwide, we can be certain that it would have up to date security systems to lower the chances of hackers gaining access to it. Also, White Hat hackers would also be hired to figure any loopholes within the system.
112  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH is good for BTC on: May 15, 2016, 03:41:04 AM
I've read quite a couple of Ethereum news posts from when it used to be $1.  If the price of Ether keeps rising, we may even break even earlier and make much more profit. Worth a shot but for me; i'll watch behind the scenes observing its rise.
113  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I never spent any savings on Bitcoin and I'm not broke on: May 15, 2016, 03:37:33 AM
If I had invested my savings in Bitcoin would it be more likely to be broke? Cheesy

Bit of an open ended question, depends on when you bought them! If you bought them 4 years ago no, if you bought them november / december 2013, you might be feeling a bit sick.

I agree; investing in bitcoin at an early stage then awaiting for a rise in its value is something we are all awaiting. Some people are afraid to invest in bitcoin but it requires patience; eventually we might actually 1 Bitcoin being $600. When that eventually happens, you would be pleased to know that you invested in it and your patience was definetly worth it.
114  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Thinking of going OFF Grid with Solar power for mining? Anyone tried this. on: May 15, 2016, 01:51:18 AM
Many people have tried it in the past, but why not just invest in Bitcoins with the money? Everyone has found out sooner or later that mining Bitcoins is barely Break-even at best. Good luck!

It would be awesome if mining could be decentralized again to the point where everyone could participate. Because power is so inexpensive in China, the majority of the mining is taking place there. It's possible with solar, the playing field might level out again. The price of the solar gear though might not make it worth it, but not sure.  Would love to see something like this take shape!

The setup I'm thinking to make is with my raspberry pi utilizing my existing nas server, which I already keep running 24/7 as my media server. The rasp uses very little electricity and I'm even playing with the option of having it run of solar power. I'm also planning to use a mining pool as it appears virtually impossible to generate any bits by yourself unless you invest heavily on hardware.
115  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Cheap electricity for mining Bitcoin on: May 15, 2016, 01:49:40 AM
Electricity is very expensive these days that's the reason bit coin mining is very hard.Maybe you can get electricity from illegal sources Cheesy or mine ETH their difficulty of mining is lower than bitcoins. Also thinking of it ETHs increasing price its a good idea

If you live in a place where you do have cheap electricity then hosting a miner makes sense. However, even then you are not guaranteed a profit or even an equal return on your investment, due to fluctuations in Bitcoin’s price and mining difficulty. You can use bitcoin mining calculators like alloscomp or vnbitcoin to try and calculate the possible return on your investment.
116  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Need Suggesion from Mining Experts ! on: May 15, 2016, 01:48:53 AM

I don't know if this is the right board to post this.

I am using bitcoin from last 3 years and i am from a country where bitcoin is banned. But the electricity cost of my country is way too low or i can use electricity all day free. But i don't have any information about mining.I only that mining bitcoin needs a mining hardware that's it.

Questions : 1

Is it possible to get mining software as bitcoin is banned here? will custom release?

Question : 2

I have no knowledge about mining just know need hardware. Then how to set hardware to start mining?

I am interested as electricity is way too low or i can get free.Any input will highly appreciate !

Regards

The first decision you have to make if you are set on becoming a bitcoin miner is whether or not you want to host your own hardware. It only makes sense to host your own hardware if you are either able to get free electricity or your electricity cost is less than the average electricity cost globally. To give you some perspective, the average electricity cost in the US is about 12 cents per kilowatt-hour, compared to China where the electricity cost 8 cents per kilowatt-hour.

117  Other / Off-topic / Re: How many btc do you have? on: May 15, 2016, 01:47:25 AM
What is a good amount to have? Is there some kind of club if you own a certain amount?  Like the 21 btc club or some shit? What is average, and big pimpin?

I never go lower than 21, is that good or bad?
if you a miner and good investor,i think its not shocking if you have 21btc,and never have lower than that amount, for me,i'm just small bitcoin holder, currently just have 0.04BTC,and its earn from signature campaign.

If you're a collage student living on campus like me a good way to take advantage of that is getting a raspberry pi and a couple of usb eruptors; then you should join a mining pool. You can expect to get much though since this is a cheap mining method. you'll get 30 - 50cents every 5 hours. That should be reasonable for startup cash for later bitcoin investment.
118  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's stopping people from using bitcoin? on: May 15, 2016, 01:45:52 AM
People dont have full faith in Bitcoins yet and this is the main reason of not using it.

I agree because they don't know yet the potential of bitcoin has. But if people will just know the possibility of bitcoin can do. They will believe that bitcoin can be used as one the currency online.
I think that people are just too scared to invest into Bitcoin. If they are true supporters, they would have already bought a lot of Bitcoin.

Well i'm a bitcoin user; the main problem that i face is finding a place to actually use that money. I have no credit card so i cant actually convert the bitcoins to usd and transfer to a bank account. Its just there for doing online payments that accept bitcoin.
119  Other / Off-topic / Re: Earning a living with bitcoin? on: May 14, 2016, 04:12:21 PM
sorry but I am not agree. bitcoin is great source of income also. it is true that most of people not earning good money through bitcoin. but when you manage your work very well and start earning, then you realize how bitcoin amazing. and about the topic: yes I am earning a living with bitcoin, I am writing books and in return gets bitcoin .
120  Economy / Services / Re: Selling My PeerCheer Account on: May 12, 2016, 05:11:57 PM
Now why are people selling their Peer checker accounts ? the reason i believe is the they have cut down their rate to half. So now it take double effort to complete the work. The bad part which i am going to tell for people to buy these accounts is that Peerchecker wont allow this and hence he is not changing the Attached BTC address with each account. So my advice do not sale the accounts, keep the account on Rent  Smiley
