I would have thought you could, but would the old version one act strange if it saw on the chain blocks which before it would not have done?
103  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [UNO] Unobtanium Info & Discussion - Update to 0.10 Wallet - Merge Mine w/BTC! on: January 27, 2017, 07:08:56 PM
I do have linux servers available to use; i just prefer windows. I will set up one of these for a 0.1 BTC bounty / year running costs. The SuperNode for UNO was paid for by IMZ and is now online for the 1 year he paid for Smiley

This electrum server will have a different  bounty address: 3PfqNBFFHK1jvixe94oi4SLEW2dit52L7F for an UNO ELECTRUM server. Address if people proceed with it would be unoelectrum.node-hosting.online.

I am also opening to doing a dedicated unotalk forum if anyone is interested in one of those, too.

right, if we are hard-forking again to remove the autoHODL on new blocks, can someone keep me posted as to when the coin changes so i can update the europe seed node which is currently on my server?

I am willing to host a supernode for BitSend, see my thread here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1766796.0 if anyone or the dev wishes to have a supernode hosted, i offer high speed low latency nodes.
106  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / [ANN] Node Hosting Service - node-hosting.online Seed / Regular Nodes 0.1 B /yr on: January 27, 2017, 06:15:36 PM
I am offering my service to host altcoin nodes on my servers. This would be an ideal service for seed nodes (updating seed node IP addresses), etc. I am doing this at a low cost, of 0.1 BTC / year / coin (0.2 BTC/year if blockchain size is greater than 2GB, 0.4 BTC  a year if the blockchain is greater than 20GB). (Payable in BTC, LTC, DOGE, ETH, ETC, UNO, ZCash, DASH). For coins with no large central blockchain, provided the overall size is less than 2GB, the fee is the flat 0.1 BTC / year rate.

The front end website is not yet ready, but the service is open and accepting orders, this post will keep track of all current nodes hosted by this service. When the site is ready it will be accessible from: www.node-hosting.online

If you have a coin you wish to see live or if you wish to have your own altcoin seed node hosted or just wish to have a node for any altcoin (or even Bitcoin if you really wished, but this is high price due to blockchain size nor would Bitcoin benefit much from it) hosted to support its network, then drop me a message and we can work something out. I am willing to set up the node, let it sync and you can verify it works before payment is sent to me. The year contract starts from the day payment is received and confirmed.

There are a few coins which will be excluded from this service. This includes:

Coins with a premine greater than 1%.
Coins that have been verified to be scams.
Coins where the developers are making obvious attempts to pump their coin with no innovation what so ever.

An example of a coin i will accept: HODLCoin, good innovation weather or not I agree with the current development path of locking up new blocks.
An example of a coin i would reject: Bytecoin, insane premine, BULLS, insane premine.

Joke coins are accepted, and welcomed, such as SHT, URO, etc.

Weather or not I agree with decisions on the coins development will not affect my node hosting service or willingness to host a node, for example i will eagerly host a HODLCoin node if the developers or users would like, even though i disagreed with the hard fork. Provided there are no outright attempts to scam people, i will not have a problem. If your coin (as a developer) is later found to be a scam coin, for example where the developers did a runner after manipulating the market, etc then the coin will be delisted, and no refund will be given, although i will put it to the vote on multiple forums after finding a coin to be a potential scam, in interest of fairness. If the coin node hosting was paid by a user rather than a developer, in fairness to the user who supported the coin the coin node will remain active for the duration of their contract, as the coins users would not be at fault.

The above is because I am against premined shitcoins!

If anyone is interested, drop me a line! If the chain is not moving, I am happy to do 'setgenerate true' on the node to mine and move the chain along. The servers are on 1Gbps connections, and each coin node will be allocated 100 - 300mbps each. In the event of a 'hard fork' of the coin, i will upgrade the software at no extra fee provided i am given notice personally, because i will not keep track of bitcointalk posts and announcement on all the coins!

If they are seed nodes, no need to add them to your config. If you are a mining pool or solo miner for a coin you would benefit from adding supernode relays or seed nodes into your coinconf.conf file, using addnode=hostname/ip, to allow faster block propagation and to reduce orphans.

We also offer electrum servers if electrum has been ported to your altcoin, for 0.1 BTC/year. We accept most coins, drop us a line!

FAQ:

Q. Why would anyone want a node hosted?

A. The majority of nodes are on the average home machine. For a small community, this would mean block chain syncing can take a long time, blocks may be slow to propagate from mining pools across all peers. Low-Latency high speed nodes can be used by pools to relay blocks for faster propagation. This can reduce orphan rates for pools, and increase blockchain sync speed and overall network performance and helps decentralize a network by having one more node up.

Q. Do you host seed nodes?

A. Yes we are happy to host seed nodes. A coin should always have multiple seed nodes hard-coded.

Q. What is a seed node?

A. As a user/supporter of a coin it will not be a 'seed node' as only a developer will do that. A seed node is a type of node that the client first looks for peers from.

Q. What is a super node

A. Super node is a low latency network node on a dedicated always-on server. A few of these kinds of nodes are recommended for any coin.

Q. Do you offer electrum servers?

A. Provided there are compiled binaries of electrum and electrum servers for windows or linux, this is no problem.

Q. Can you host multiple nodes for the same coin?

A. Yes i can host multiple nodes for the same coin, for each 0.1 BTC paid for a coin I can host a node for it as there are multiple servers dedicated to my service.

Q. Will you reduce your pricing?

A. Due to the running costs of servers with a decent specification, this is not possible as it would compromise the performance of my nodes if the servers are sub-par.

Q. What is your server operating system?

A. Windows Server 2012 on some servers, Ubuntu Linux on others, depends on the server.

Q. Can you mine to move the chain along?

A. I can dedicate 1 CPU core / coin to mine to move a stalled difficulty 0 blockchain, via in-wallet miner if one is available.

Q. Can I cancel my hosting?

A. Once a coin node has been paid for, you cannot cancel and the node will remain hosted for the coin until the contract runs out.

Q. Do you offer monthly plans?

A. It would seem pointless to offer monthly plans as coin nodes are something you want up for a reasonable time, potentially indefinitely especially seed nodes. So 1 year is the contract length.

Q. What would happen if you suddenly became unable to provide the service for any reason before contracts are over?

A. I would refund the BTC amount remaining on a monthly calculation of how much is left, dividing 0.1 BTC by 12 and adding up the months remaining on contracts.

Q. What will be the address of the hosted node?

A. The IP of the server hosting the node will be attached to the main domain, such as <yourcoin>.node-hosting.online

If anyone would like a node hosting with us, drop me a line or reply here! If you would like a node hosting, i will generate an address to receive payments in BTC for that particular coin node, which will be published in the list of nodes that are online. This is for transparency, showing on the blockchain the dates payment was received and the amount. If you include an email address with this payment then you will be notified via email when your node is coming up for renewal.
107  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [UNO] Unobtanium Info & Discussion - Update to 0.10 Wallet - Merge Mine w/BTC! on: January 27, 2017, 03:42:11 PM
if one can point me to the electrum server binaries for windows servers, i could host an electrum UNO server for a further 0.1 bounty/year. We already have an UNO supernode hosted by me as of today as well, so let me know if you want an electrum server too! That will have it's own node on a different server.
108  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [UNO] Unobtanium Info & Discussion - Update to 0.10 Wallet - Merge Mine w/BTC! on: January 27, 2017, 11:40:02 AM
Node ready and online:  uno.node-hosting.online - 1 year. Renewal 27-01-2018

If we can compile a new GUI based UNO, we could add this as one of the hard coded seed nodes as all the seed nodes are dead in that release on unobtanium.uno, we want a few such nodes.

109  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Node Hosting Service - SuperNodes on: January 27, 2017, 10:54:07 AM
I offer annual because if you want a node hosted for an altcoin, chances are you are in need of nodes and due to the fact you want a currency lifespan to be long, yearly is the best sort of plan for a node. And if a coin was a scam coin, and it was the coin dev who had the node hosted, i would delist the node because I do not support scammers. If the user supporting a coin paid however, i would keep it up purely because they should get the service they paid for. If a coin dev is a scammer, this is not for them. Genuine coins only!

In response to the user being a sockpuppet, i couldn't fairly judge that and so my policy will be if a user has paid then they need the service they paid for, but if it is proven the dev of a scamcoin, i would delist the node.

NEWS:

We are now hosting an UNO / Unobtanium super-node @ uno.node-hosting.online

add this to your unobtanium.conf as addnode=uno.node-hosting.online or use the console.

Thank you for using my service UNO community!

113  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: My bank account was frozen due to suspicious activity on my account on: January 26, 2017, 11:49:27 PM
Its actually you I will blame because if you want to engage in any financial transaction in anywhere then you should first understand the nature of the laws around there and how they trace transactions. From the way I see it. its obvious you are from a developed country where there are strict rules concerning movement of money. I guess you only have to wait for the outcome and from there you plan for what to do next.

It isn't like these laws are advertised or known about by the average joe. I am legally literate but why should everyone else have to be to sell their property? FYI i am from the UK and any bank deposits are protected up to 75k, the bank cannot simply run off with your wages, etc. It is not something you 'think' about until it happens and let's face it, locking all of his money is simply ridiculous. I have helped so many get around ridiculous stuff like this just knowing the rules of a very corrupt system, but not a single person I have met understood them in the way I do apart from one, they just want to do what they do and get on with their lives, i am in the UK like this person. I have had the same thing happen selling BTC a while ago, even saw ID and everything IN PERSON they did the transfer but they still used a stolen account (and ID, they looked damn like the person on the passport they showed me too) it turned out that i kept my money after a scolding from my bank (halifax)

Although, its not as bad as the US with their IRS tax returns even if their citizens live abroad, quite a few renounce their citizenship... I wouldn't blame the OP, although its time people do start wising up to the system, easy enough to turn the system against itself with its pathetic rules, who would tax and create rules around intake of breath and simple act of existence given the chance with a 300-page law on simple existence and bodily functions!

114  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is set in stone on: January 26, 2017, 12:50:22 PM
Dunno. In those same 4 years, there were maybe a half dozen soft forks? Some of those were rule changes, albeit changes in preexisting rules. Do soft forks, of which there are demonstrably many, not count?

There has been segwit which helps with the issue and is a soft fork, no sign of implementation, however!
115  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ▐ [ANN] [TRUMP] TrumpCoin ■ Grassroots Community Cryptocurrency ▌ on: January 26, 2017, 01:18:37 AM
I am offering a super-node hosting service: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1757389.0

0.1 BTC a year for the TrumpCoin community. This is a node that is hosted on a high bandwith, high speed low latency server. This is a node which will have reliable uptime, but will also allow fast relaying of blocks to other peers if pools have a direct connection to the nodes. For any coin to be listed, I am looking for 0.1 BTC / year per coin. Currently we have a HODLCoin seed node hosted here, which is a great honor!

If the TrumpCoin community wishes to have a supernode hosted here, which will be kept updated with the latest software, please use this address which is kept track of. Once it reaches 0.1 BTC a supernode will be hosted. Feel free to read the topic and contact the HODLCoin developer for feedback.

Server specification (I have multiples): Quad-Core Xeon, 4GB RAM, 160+GB HDD space, 1Gbps network per server.

TrumpCoin supernode funding address: 3QLqHsEqw8pzbMe3YsyPpTGkpcsiJbhqVr

0.1 BTC a year for the DASH community. This is a node that is hosted on a high bandwith, high speed low latency server. Server specification (I have multiples): Quad-Core Xeon, 4GB RAM, 160+GB HDD space, 1Gbps network per server. As DASH is well established where nodes are concerned, this would be more suitable for pools as a relay so I am unsure if this will gain any traction in DASH but will offer my service.

I am having problems with the main UNO wallet not finding peers so i cannot sync the blockchain and thus using electrum. I am more than willing to host an unobtanium 'supernode' on my node hosting service. It is 0.1 BTC / year per coin, and I am more than happy to list UNO, either if the devs wish to hardcode it as a seed node and recompile a new daemon, or just a simple peernode which pools etc can add to their conf files.

3HTGfJGJiaKYWRtVLH67EGHWBa9EGrPLph is the address, when we reach 0.1 BTC i will put up a supernode.

What benefit would this bring the UNO community?

A supernode is a type of node that has a high bandwith low latency connection, on a professional server of good specification. Pools which add the node will relay blocks quickly around the network, and reduce orphan risk, and it gives a solid reliable peer for people to download the blockchain quickly and simply relay transactions and increase decentralization. If it were a seed node, it also serves as one of the nodes the client will first connect to, often hard-coded in place.

If not a seed node, it will just be a relay. It will be given a hostname for easy remembering. Once we reach 0.1 BTC, we will launch the node!

I am also still earning BTC from my BTC freelance which nets me a total of 0.05 BTC/day atm anyhow!

well I have agreed to host a hodl seed node on my server, so yes Smiley I do like this coin Smiley thank you dev for the 25,000 HODL bounty, received with grace! What we could do with is a Ledger Wallet app for the ledger Nano S hardware wallet, that would be great as long term HODLers could add it to their ledger nano S HW wallet.
