Let me make it as simple as I can for you :

Download this and replace sexcoin-qt.exe : http://www.sexcoin.info/sexcoin-qt-0.6.4.1-RC1-Windows32-NoLimiter.zip

I'm sure you know enough to google for a free program to unarchive a zip..

You go into the directory where sexcoin is, delete the old sexcoin-qt.exe, replace it with the one is the zip and hey, the wallet will work fine..

If that's too much trouble, feel free to dump your coins, I'll be there to buy them up..

Yeap I couldn't sync, so I went to sexcoin.info, went to the cleints section and downloaded the blockheight check disabled client, which "fixs" the issue.. No more downloads...

The permanent fix would be to swap from the litecoin network to a unique network,and lava figured it out ,coded it in, and it tested fine.. But it requires a hardfork..

We discussed this in the development team, I was for simply offering the one client, Lava wanted the blockheight check enabled client.. My view was he was putting a time limit on the hardfork, and every time that limit was missed people would get pissed off when they couldn't sync, his view was if they couldn't sync they'd have to download the new client for the hardfork, which would make life easier for us..

So there you go... Now you know the why of it....

Coding is going very well..

Lava has been distracted from the client again, but he's planning to get back at it and try to insulate himself from further distractions..
Nomaxip has been working on the block explorer, the original software has stability issues, check coinmarketcap and if you see 3 or four coins down the bottom with question marks, it's a pretty safe bet that their block explorer is down.. There's no ETA, this requires significant recoding ..
DigDug expects to have online wallets up and running soon.. once again he has had to rewrite the code where it is lacking.
Wedge , If I recall correctly is playing with an android app..

That's not a detailed report on who's doing what just the main thrust...

Promotion isn't doing so well.. First of all we are dealing with unrealistic expectations.. As an example I have started a twitter account and one of the first questions I had to field was where is the online wallet ?.. Now some of you may say there is a certain coin that was heavily promoted form the get go and is successful, and they had online wallets up quick.. You are right.. last I heard they were trying to solicit help within the community to help them hardfork the client, because they need fixes, and don't know how to do them, and the online wallets got hacked... They may have made huge gains short term but long term they are going to have problems...

However criticism of the promotional side of things was well founded, and we have done our best to address those issues.. you'll be glad to know we now have a facebook page, and it's the only page representing SXC.. It's here:

There is movement on the official website.. It's been "hijacked", is set up on a different server, is getting a few bugs ironed out, and a basic update.. The "distraction" for lava.. Once it is sorted, I'll be updating it as part of the regular updating regime....

There are also outdated third party sites that will be contacted at an appropriate time and asked to update their information..

Finally there is a reddit problem that is unresolved... there is a "girlsgonesexcoin" thread with an absentee moderator.. we need a reddit moderator and we can create a like thread or even maybe "hijack" the present thread, but this is going nowhere ...

So we don't have the infrastructure or development to launch a "Sexcoin use it now" campaign, but we are close, and we are organising the promotional side of things and building a presence so when we do want to promote it will be much easier..

I also note there appears to be no volume on tagcash.com, which is in beta. I have no doubt that tagcash will gain popularity and when it does SXC will have a fiat pairing on an exchange, but from a practical point of view merchants accepting it right now have no way of cashing it out directly..

So what I'm advising is patience.. I think the price will stay low for a while longer, then as the work we are doing now comes to matures and bears fruit, we'll see another massive bubble... don't forget the last one was about 7500% in 48 hours, and that was due to just being listed on coinmarket cap..

Also don't forget sexcoin is being mentioned in almost every mainstream media article about alternatives, they may say it with a giggle, but they always say it, and as time goes on people will be familiar with the name, and think of it as a solid coin that's well established, and a safer bet... Well, Theres been some great things happening with SXC..

Media attention , new services, a new exchange and new merchants...

But the price is down.. This information isn't getting out there...

Our official website hasn't been updated.. This is a problem, one I raised a week ago... It's still not updated.. A nice shiny new website would be nice, but in the weeks or months that it is being developed a quick update on the old one would stop a lot of negative impressions about SXC being formed.

I started an official page on facebook.. there was one, it went against SXC's branding and represented SXC as purely speculative, and elicited donations, none of which went to SXC's development.. It also didn't contain any news so it gave the impression SXC was standing still..

That's much the same as the two twitter feeds... I'm trying to get that under control as well, but my request for an "@sexcoin.info" email account to be setup has not born any result... I guess there's more important things taking place...

In the end I guess there's not much I can contribute to SXC, so I am reducing my involvement in the project with a view to leaving the development altogether.

I like it... A lot of people don't understand what we are aiming for. Today I was along way away and I explained bitcoin to my friends mother who was new to it and in her sixties.. It took a little while.. Then I took the plunge, and talked about SXC trying to get the points I have put in the OP (I updated it with an about) some of them, like the reduced risk because the operators were selling virtual goods, she got without me prompting her.

The fact is she looked at from a straight economic viewpoint, instead of an emotional kneejerk reaction.. once you explain the business side, I think most people would get it.. Articles like this help get people past that silly "Sex is naughty, you said something naughty ..haw haw..." reaction...

OK, as far as I know...
1) Magic Number changed by hardfork. The desync fix used in many coins does not change the network from litecoins, it just masks it and may require additional hardforks. Lava actually tested this, and it works..afterwards SXC's network will be completely different from litecoins.

2) Hashrate algorithm changed. Every wonder why your pool says it putting out twice as much hash as the network ? on almost every coin ?.. that's because the hashrate algo is a bit clumsy, especially when it was written for litecoins retargeting window, and that window has been changed dramatically. This effects lots of things especially the difficulty.

30 Block retargeting with "Poison Pill" ... 30 blocks is a good retargeting time, and it allows better accuracy for hashrate calulations but it might not be so great when you get hit with several GH.. The poison pill automatically retargets the difficulty if there is a huge spike in hashrate. I assume it also automatically retargets if there is a huge droip in hashrate

4) Directory structure changed..  I'm not a Linux guy.. I fiddle with it, but I prefer the ease of windows... So I'm taking Lavas word when he says having every thing in one directory is better for Linux users.. I just like this change because it means I can have the new wallet on a USB stick, and plug it into whatever machine I want to use..

5) Network alert key change. When "Chinsu" abandoned the coin he took the network alert key with him, meaning that we can't send messages like "Upgrade Immediately to" . This is kinda important.

That's it.. that's the last thing we want to change... and I'm impatient, Lava's impatient, and we know that generally people will be unexcited by this but we also know how important it is to get the technical things right so then the bells and whistles are on a solid foundation that works like it should. If we don't take the time to do it right, we will have to find time to do it over...

As for coming stuff yes everybody wants a webcam client. We were going to brand a client for the chinese market because they said porn is illegal and they wouldn't promote it, but it seems the chinese are starting to promote SXC anyway, I guess they lost their fear that they would get hassled by their government, so that's been scrapped. There are other ideas, but I'm not going to mention them because we don't want other coins getting a jump on us.. being first is important.

Yeap.. Merchants my exchange SXC for BTC, Instead of taking BTC, but add LTC as another step, and they won't want to take you on..

And as I said you lose heaps of exposure without a BTC trade pair...

I suspect the thing is Bitjohn compared us to "weedcoin" and "Vaginacoin" and suggested we change the name back on the 5th July,2013. To do so would have ruined our branding, so we didn't comply.

He expected that the coin would die without his personal approval, but it didn't.. On the 2nd Septemper,2013 we were listed on PhenixEX, and on the 5th September ,2013 CoinEX.. and we were gaining momentuem...

On the 22nd September,2013, he was underfire in the community for listing crap coins, and there was controversy over cryptsy delisting crap coins.. I sent him a PM, not asking for a listing, but pointing out that while It was understandable that he not list every merchant that accepted SXC on his little stickied thread, listing merchants but omitting SXC from the currencies they accepted seem biased... suddenly he listed us against LTC..

He presented it as a "trial run" ... and that he wondered if he was being a bit of a "prude"..

I think it's time SXC's trial run was over, his dismissive and recalcitrant attitude is hurting the coin.. though I might be taking this a bit "personally"..

1.Roughly 288,000 coins are being generated each day. It should be 144,000 but the algorithms aren't right.. In fact unless the developers of any newer alt completely rewrite that bit of code you'll see misreported hashrate and the generation won't be quite right in any coin.. lava and RPG are working on it. However all those extra coins are flooding the market and the price is taking a beating. There also have been connection problems with the present client, and we have been promising the release of the new client for so long, there is a feeling in some quarters that we are incapable of doing so. The truth is that Lava has coded in fixes to problems deemed impossible to completely rectify which passed testing, but it's taken a lot of time.

2. To buy SXC first you have to buy BTC, Then you have to swap it to LTC, then you can buy SXC. Generally Cryptsy will take any crap coin, and list it against BTC. There is then the thought that if Cryptsy won't list it against BTC, it must really be crap. I spoke in the cryptsy thread to Bitjohn and requested that it be listed against BTC, but he said they were busy, but they would consider it. Investors also approached him in Las Vegas earlier. Since then they haven't been too busy to add several more coins.

I haven't bothered to chase it up, because Bitjohn has had a long history of being biased against SXC, and I have a long history of having a volatile temper, and involving myself further would be counterproductive.

3, We overtook development of the coin, which means we weren't in on any premine or instamine, which means we don't have the funds to pay brib,.. I mean bounties . We also didn't announce the release to anybody involved in an exchange then to the general public some weeks after it had been mined.

4. I note in a thread that on the 7th of December, the attorney general of Florida was allegedly advised of cryptsy's operations and showed great concern about the potential for fraud, and will be investigating their operations. While this may just be FUD spread by a competitor of cryptsy to tarnish their reputation, if true then any coin dependant on cryptsy is in for a rough time.

And lava was told by https://www.coins-e.com/ that they would add the coin but no action has been taken. Perhaps they are waiting for the client release. We are listed on CoinEX.PW, but they don't broadcast information to sites like coinchoose, and so are obscure.

If you want to see an increase in price, and protect your investment, I would suggest you assist in lobbying exchanges to add SXC in a BTC trade pair. Generally coins pay brib.. bounties to anybody who spams exchanges on their behalf, but I personal think such behaviour is infantile, and a waste of resources best used for real promotion and development.

It is a pity that the exchanges don't seem to list coins on merit, but rather by popular request.

EDIT: some sites like Coinwarz require a BTC trade pair for stats, so SXC has not been listed since CoinEX's api's stopped working, reducing SXC's exposure.

I am writing to you on behalf of the lead developer of "Sexcoin".
 
It appears SXC, despite it's successes has not been taken seriously in the Altcoin community, however it is gaining attention outside of it , with investment from people new to alternative currency, and particularly with investors from the Adult Entertainment Industry. It recently has been mentioned by the Washington Post, International Business Times, and CNNMoney, for example.
 
The development team believe that this is because SXC has a clear purpose, with a clear business model that is not appreciated within the community, but is obvious to those outside it.
 
Statistics show that the Adult entertainment Industry has an annual global turnover of 96 billion dollars, with 28,258 internet users viewing adult material every second which is essentially digital goods. These goods are generally worth little per item, which makes industry the eminently suitable for adoption of the microtranactional business model.
 
When you consider a real world good, such as a pizza, it requires a time sensitive delivery. At the point of delivery traditional payment methods such as fiat, EFTPOS or cash are not only well established but preferable to the merchant as the volatility of cryptocurrency can lead to significant losses and pose significant risk. For these reasons cryptocurrency provides no advantage, high risk and is unlikely to be adopted as more than a gimmick.
 
In the case of cryptocurrency gaining wide spread adoption for Digital Goods in the Adult Industry, not only is there reduced risk of accepting payment despite market volatility because the goods are virtual, but the industry has struggled with traditional payment methods. The use of credit cards has left the industry open to "friendly fraud" whereby customers charge back payments and "unfriendly fraud" whereby stolen credit card details are used as payment to check their validity.

With banks chargeing fees to the content provider when this occurs, the Adult Industry is essentially high risk and has had difficulty with banks refusing to help them in their commerce.

The industry has in some cases adopted Bitcoin as cryptocurrency because it eliminates this problem entirely, however while SXC has not been crafted as a global currency for all transactions and cannot compete with Bitcoin in this purpose, It has been designed and branded specifically for this niche, and out performs and can out compete Bitcoin within it.

SXC is not designed for speculation as a digital commodity and does not depend on rarity for value. It is designed for commerce with enough coins being generated to make it affordable per unit and more easily obtained by the consumer.

It's block time allows transactions to be confirmed within six minutes, which is quick enough to be used within the industry, but slow enough to carry commerce and allow transactions to be propagated throughout the network.

Finally, because of low or nonexistent transaction fees, it allows the content provider to adopt a microtransactional business model and charge for items individually.
The micro transactional business model has gained adoption by other entertainment industries and is credited with reviving them and helping to combat piracy. Purchasing a song from itunes, an item in Farmville, or a single mainstream movie are all examples of this model in action.

Presently, and due to the recent exposure of SXC, there is a developer who has been in contact with, but is separate from SXC's development team, with experience and software for processing credit card payments developing a straight USD/USD payment method.

From the approaches and discussions with investors involved in the adult industry, there is little doubt in the developers minds that SXC will be successful once these projects are completed.

The difficulty developers presently face is lack of presence on exchanges in the interim.

SXC is presently listed on CoinEX.pw in a BTC/SXC trade pair, however the exchange lacks traffic and appears not to have working API's. It is also listed on Cryspty, however it is listed only in a SXC/LTC trade pair. The Operations Manager has been approached, however seems recalcitrant to allowing SXC to be traded against BTC.

SXC does carry approximately 20 merchants. The development team have identified a further 59 merchants in SXC's niche who accept bitcoin and are likely to adopt sexcoin. Unfortunately the lack of a BTC/SXC trade pair on a well known reputable, reliable exchange has caused compliant with existing merchants, and we are loathe to move forward until this has been addressed.

So the question is, will BTER consider adding SXC to the exchange against BTC ?

SXC is rapidly becoming a "serious" alt, and will eventually come into it's own, regardless, once sufficient payment processing infrastructure is developed. The developers are aware of the usual tactics used by coins to gain a listing, including bribery to convince people spam exchanges and create a false image of popularity.

The SXC development team are busy with the process of real development, and do not wish to waste the BTER's staff time either. We hope an honest and logical outline of SXC's prospects will convince them of the worth of the coin.
