-Thanks

Prohashing working out ok for this miner?
103  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain looks like they're releasing a 15GH/s DASH miner called the AntMiner D3 on: September 17, 2017, 04:46:31 PM
So guys i have 4 days left to make the payment for one d3.....should i go and make the payment tomorrow or is better to make new rig with the money ?Nov delivery

It's probably better to buy coins IMO.

My Batch one order is marked as "Shipping", but I have not received a tracking number yet :/

Time of Payment :   2017-07-18 16:52:31

Edit:
I was able to find my tracking number on UPS's website!
I just searched by "Shipment Reference:" , where I put in my Bitmain order ID and was able to find it!

Scheduled Delivery:
Tuesday, 09/19/2017 , By End of Day

Fuck yeah! Cheesy

Anyone got their tracking number yet for batch 1?
106  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Nicehash vs Buying Coins vs Mining on: August 15, 2017, 10:35:58 PM
I've just compared switched my small farm (5 Gh/s Eth) to Nicehash and I'm not happy at all. While the idea of just mining the most profitable algo is compelling, there are a few challenges:

* It doesn't use the best/most efficient miner (often you get better rates with modded miners targeted to your HW)
* OC settings are incredibly hard for multi-algo, wich means you need to go subtle / generalized OC and loose a couple Mh/s there too
* Fees are too high (its just too high)

I switched back to Signatum mining using ccminer for now, still exploring better mining options.

Buying coins is a safe choice and the most passive option so you don't invest your time. If you put a number behind that its the most profitable I assume. While I'm in for the long game and its exciting to figure out new stuff I would have been better of investing the money just into BTC or ETH.

You can use claymore or any other miner to mine at nicehash.
I've always assumed that the "accepted hashrate" chart is wrong, cause it is ALWAYS lower than the actual hashrate my rigs are producing.

I got 500 Mh/s ETH, at nicehash its currently showing 350 Mh/s as accepted speed. Does that actually mean it doesnt accept the the full "speed" I'm producing?
I got 0% rejected speed.

Am I losing profits?

Your miner is basing its hash-rate figures on how much work it is doing. Even though it is performing the hashing function it may not be generating acceptable shares at the rate the pool uses to estimate how much hashrate x number of shares over a certain timeframe equates to.

Pools such as Nicehash can only use how many valid shares they receive from your miners as a metric and then use that figure along with time to display a guesstimate of your hash-rate. Luck, latency, pool issues, developer fee shares, or even subtle miner hardware fluctuations can all contribute to a large difference between submitted and accepted share-rates at the pool compared to what you miner is displaying.

As far as are you losing profits, in almost all cases mining at Nicehash will result in less profits than mining a coin directly and then trading it yourself. Consider Nicehash charges buyers 3% to "rent" your hashrate. They also charge you 3% for the privilege of renting it out to the buyers. Also consider the people buying or renting this hash-rate need to overcome this spread in order to profit on whatever coin they are after, so assuming they aren't losing money this needs ot be an additional 2-3% or more profit to make it worthwhile. So adding all this up, as a seller you need to overcome from 6-10% of fees to make what you could just by mining whatever profitable coin people are willing to pay Nicehash to mine for them.

Thanks for reply!

Regarding "Luck and pool issues", shouldnt this be the renters problem?

Example from one of my rigs:

"ETH - Total Speed: 142.758 Mh/s, Total Shares: 1397, Rejected: 3, Time: 07:37
ETH: GPU0 28.547 Mh/s, GPU1 28.568 Mh/s, GPU2 28.560 Mh/s, GPU3 28.558 Mh/s, GPU4 28.526 Mh/s"

These stats kinda freak me out! Tongue

The average seems to be acceptable tho:

I do have 2 GPUs not listed in the screenshots above. (Old rig with cards failing 1 by 1, only 2 left Smiley )
107  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Fifth alt coin thread last four got too big. on: August 15, 2017, 10:20:21 PM
Hey Phil!

Would you recommend Nicehash for mining Daggerhashimoto instead of mining ETH directly?
I'm getting worried I'm not getting all my hashrate registered there.
And what about x11?

Do you have any experience/input?

110  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Time for iBeLink to Win Hearts of Miners on: August 05, 2017, 11:38:16 PM
iBelink is first to market with a big boy X11 miner.  Your free upgrade will come from your chance to ROI by being first to market.  iBelink doesn't owe anyone anything other than to get these out the door and into your hands ASAP so you have a chance to earn some of that money back.

Anyone getting a miner in October will be lucky if they can ROI in a year and I am not sure I would hold my breath on that year figure.

This approach is what was before the customer satisfaction & loyalty was discovered. In today's era only those organization survive who show gratitude to customers instead of 'i don't owe you anything' attitude.

Even a giant like Bitmain started realizing it and decided to give cost savings to its customers and despite of huge customer base they do cooperate with customers in many regards for example sending a low customs declaration to help customers save on customs duty. Where in i was disappointed to find out that iBeLink do not even facilitate request to issue a lower value customs declaration invoice to help customer save on duty which is a trend in China.

Remember, no body control or can control who get how much revenue, its only the attitude towards customer which make them loyal to any organization or not.

Thanks.

Bitmain shipments to my location are for face value of the items and never a discount.  So no break there.  Customer loyalty in the mining community?  This is a Unicorn not often seen here.  Bitmain used to give out coupons toward future purchases, but that pretty much dried up now that they are really the only game in town.

In the mining community you work hard to build relationships.  It would be nice to see more from the manufacturers in this regard, but the reality is that for the most part all the manufacturers are just trying to stay alive in the face of the Bitmain assault.

Investment, R&D, manufacturing equipment, shipping, and customer service all require a lot of money and at the moment Bitmain is sucking most of that out of the market.  If you think iBelink is making out like a bunch of fat cats and owe you something then I would say you should give it some more thought.  Looking for free upgrades when they are just trying to stay alive is fanciful thinking.

Good luck looking for a customer loyalty upgrade.  I would be thankful if I managed to order a first batch miner and getting it soon so that I had a good shot at a early ROI.  Any follow on batches in Oct or later getting a short ROI is a pipe dream.

You didn't get my point, let me explain you

Point # 1

I ordered L3+ from bitmain and its price was $2000 including shipping PSU, so i requested them that when you send out for customs declaration send invoice as $90, they did it and it saved me money on customs. CLARIFICATION: I AM NOT SAYING that bitmain gave me discount of $1910, instead they took the $2000 and the customs invoice was issued worth $90 only. Do you get the point?

I requested same think to iBeLink and they denied......this is rude specially when they don't have any loss in doing so. Because in my country the custom duty on miners is huge.

Point # 2

Regarding your argument that Bitmain is sucking its competition, i agree to some extent and that's why i gave the suggestions to iBeLink that help the customers and in return you will get the miners loyalty. Ask YOURSELF if iBeLink give you free upgrade or lets say upgrade at nominal charges, won't you show them some respect and loyalty?

The miners i talked to, 99% of them said YES.

Point # 3

I am myself big fan of iBeLink, and advocated them all over the forum when bitmain initiated the price war, however remember only those trees survive for long in devastating storms which are flexible and NOT RIGID.

Business is all about strategy, that is what Bitmain is doing and iBeLink needs a good business strategist.

I personally want iBeLink to become biggest manufacturer but again like you said wanting something is separate and different then reality.

Thanks.

Can you show a picture of said customs declaration? AFAIK they have refused to do this for quite some time, as they could get in trouble.
111  Local / Skandinavisk / Re: tax on bitcoin profits in scandinavia? on: August 05, 2017, 11:06:21 PM

Ok, sure. Guess they lowered the taxrate. It was at 27 percent at one point, as far as I can see currently it stands at 24 percent. Not a huge difference but still everything counts.

Sweet, I thought it was 28%! /dance

112  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain looks like they're releasing a 15GH/s DASH miner called the AntMiner D3 on: August 05, 2017, 10:55:29 PM
That's the way it should work, but most countries don't allow most deductions. France won't let me deduct anything without a SARL. A French limited liability company.

Kinda makes me worried, its not like I've asked. Well I asked many years ago how to pay taxes on mining, still no answer.

They came with guidelines this year, basically saying:

"If you have sold bitcoins which you own, or have mined during the year, you should calculate profits or losses when selling bitcoins, and pay/deduct 28% tax on it"

Thats it.
113  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain looks like they're releasing a 15GH/s DASH miner called the AntMiner D3 on: August 05, 2017, 04:01:01 PM
If ibelink buyers get their 22ghs upgrade kits soon or before october ( at a discount or possibly free for some) then they will have the fastest and most efficient miner even once the d3's are released and until the a5 even once the d3s are shipped, not sure how they did it but they got 3x as many of the same chips in the 22gh miner yet using same power usage.

well...in my case, I mined the LTC used....so this year...1/2 can go to the tax man ...or that same 1/2 can go to equip with an additional 25% due to 100% equip deduction in 1 year
applied to taxes I owe..or know I'm gonna owe this year

So the gamble was 25% more in $$$ on equipment...than just paying the IRS the 50% off what I mined in coin

sucks...but that is how it is...so worse case I figure it is a wash

Glad I was paranoid and only got the ONE though....

I also HOPE that bitmain will release a firmware update (like Baikal eventually did in the past) to do X13 and X15 coins. What the heck, probably won't happen, but would allow
me to mine something, if when these miners destroy/pump/boom the X11 coins out there in the world.

Anyway, still (in my case) I'll probably get by...but again...circumstances...I feel sad for those who may have bet the farm.

Whenever bitmain REDUCES PRICE DRASTICALLY as they have done with product in the past..it usually means something else is dire in the crypto world

but damn, even this one miner I got could be a 'doorstop' by December 2017 ..what an arms race!

I don't get it mate. You still have to pay taxes on the coins you have bought stuff with tho?

Like, if I buy BTC at 100$, and it rises to 200$. Then I buy something for those 200$, I still need to pay taxes on the 100$ gained.
Its the same with mining, just a little more work calculating the cost of those coins you have mined.

If you're a business you can write off the cost of purchases. Any money reinvested in the business is deductable.

Hmm, you can write off cost of purchases if you are not a business as well, costs of gear, hosting, electricity, internet ++ is basically the cost of coin. If I need to drive somewhere to restart a rig, thats a part of it too.
Atleast thats how I calculate my average cost of coin, to be able to calculate how much is actual profits when I sell them.

And then I pay 28% tax on the actual profits (Norway).

116  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Mining OS] SimpleMining.net - Easy to use GPU MINING Operating System on: August 05, 2017, 07:20:29 AM
I'm having issues with the R-version of the OS.

It boots straight into the desktop (I can see the desktop), and never starts the miner-program.
Anyway I can manually start the miner?

It's been like this for weeks now, and I just tried with the newest version from your page, same result.

It was working fine until July!

Anyone else had this problem?

Bump.

An answer would be nice, I've already lost a month of mining on the R-rig..

Bump.

If someone could tell me how to manually start the claymore miner, that would be great.
What is SSH user/pw?

The rig start sometimes, but ONLY for 1-2 hrs before i need to manually reset it.
Heres a fancy picture for some attention:

Possible to withdraw/get e refund? Kinda sucks to pay for something that wont work. Smiley

Its easier than bitcoin, but less profitable.

SHA256 coins are an ASIC's game, CPU/GPU mining is a total waste Smiley
