The team is comprised of 15 elderly asians and is the worst team in cryptoland. Vericoin fellows aint good at getting software out the door since they lack wisdom and technical savvy. Which is necessary for creating a shiny code.

Elderly Asians? What are you smoking?

By the way, thanks to those who chipped in so far.  Wink

Just sent some BAYs to the PR fund...

How many coins has jl777 developed as of now?

afiak while he was worked on NXT, BTCD and created several project on the NXT blockchain backed by assets on that blockchain.

This is the first new coin/blockchain he has launched with an ICO.

http://support.supernet.org/topic/has-james-jl777-abandoned-his-projects-in-the-past-how-many-icos-has-he-done

So, you are pointing to a post that starts with "Some people say ..." Interesting.

Why is that particularly interesting?

Because he is pointing to that post as provided, to be backup for his statements but the post is hearsay.

I see BTCD has been, or is in the process of being delisted at Bter.com

They sure don't waste any time do they? If you have any there, looks like you have 90 days to collect them.

"The following coins will be delisted

DVC, RED, ZET, WDC, PRT, BQC, BTCD, C2, CKC, MAX, FTP,
DGC, DTC, GEMZ, MEC, MINT, MSC, NBT, NODE, NSR, BAY,
NXTTY, QRK, SRC, TBC, UNITY, VRC, VTC, XC, YAC, BLK

We will provide 3 months withdrawal service for all of them.

BTER

Jan. 5, 2017"

They delist coins based on trading volume.  If they aren't generating fees and commissions for them, then why would they keep them listed.

BTCD is mainly traded on Poloniex and the volume there has been up 500% or more lately and is in a healthy range.  And when KMD is trading, people will be using arbitrage between the two and will be even more volume, in theory.  So unlikely they will delist it.

Yea, I understand that but, with BTER's track record, I would be cautious...

so someone hacked my pc or what? my coins are gone...

https://explorer.cloakcoin.com/tx/f4e6d3721c223c1cb8985103295ff4bfda7f2bfb9407cf529b4a748fef2ae87a

So much about that. I had my wallet opened for staking and someone somehow managed to transfer coins.

looks like i've been victim of DarkComet backdoor, RAT, and my own stupidity. But, this was targeted attack to cloack users as I got infected when downloading newer cloak wallet, following link from this forum page 1. Looks like i've been spoofed to fake Mega download of cloak wallet which contained trojan. I still have that link, now pointing to a Mega url saying that file has been removed.
I downloaded fake wallet on january 5th, attack happened about 16:00 CET, january 6th.

It's just my version of what it seems to happened, giving all the evidence I collected. I have some logs, maybe IP addresses, can this be traced somehow?

Anyone involved with crypto should have a good defense installed on their PC. I recommend MalewareBytes. Below is a link to Trend Micro's page on the "DarkComet" Trojan:

http://www.trendmicro.com/vinfo/us/threat-encyclopedia/malware/DARKCOMET

This hack is not specific to CLOAK or any other crypto but acts as a remote control portal allowing others to take control of your computer. You could have picked it up anywhere.

I really wish you would just refrain from sinking to the level of trolls tbh canna. I know my wishes don't mean anything but I'm also fairly certain I'm not the only ARK investor who shares this sentiment. Either ignore them altogether or respond in a succinct professional manner if a response is warranted, that is what I would recommend if I could recommend something. I mean, if you guys aren't going to address his question/concern why respond just so you can continue this pissing match back and forth and continually bump his negative posts for the rest to see over and over again. What happened to having a little tact? IMHO that is a quality a community manager or PR person should possess and demonstrate.

cannabanana does not like comments/suggestions like this. He'll just bark back at you and throw you bananas. He's not gonna change the way he is, the way he acts and reacts because you suggested it. And he's clarified it before - he is not the PR. Lol  Grin

Cannabanana doesn't understand the PR job he is doing at all, except those that invested and are trying to protect their interest may have different view from mine, he has done more damage to the ARK brand than promote it.

sorry I don't work in PR.

Tact is not for everyone I guess.

I don't mind people having a bad opinion about me, as long as you're not here causing trouble for whatever reason people are doing it you will stay on my good side.

Once again....I'm not PR.

Anybody closely associated to this project is PR - either officially and unofficially. How you react does reflect on the project - even if you say "I'm not PR".

Totally agree! but in Canna's defense he kept the same attitude since day 1....I guess if you like the potential and odds of ARK than you should be able to ignore his unpolitical behavior

Personally, I applaud his "unpolitical behavior". Political correctness is destroying the real world, let's not destroy the cyber one as well. If you don't like his style or his comments, just move on. Chastising him does no good for anyone.
109  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][KMD][dPoW] Komodo ICO - Zcash Zero Knowledge Privacy Secured by Bitcoin on: January 09, 2017, 09:00:56 PM
So jl777 has been involved in many projects some he started others he abandoned but none he ever saw through to the end.
Can you refresh my memory as to any project I abandoned? I cant remember any.

I have indeed been involved in many projects, but once I start it I do keep at it until it is done, even if it takes years.

I am still in the process of completing many of the projects and KMD is what enables a lot of them. Oh, and MGW has been done for quite a while. iguana is arguably complete to some degree, just missing a GUI which I dont do.

Also komodod is basically done at this point and it has a working dPoW, round robin mining, zero footprint 5% APR, assetchains, on-demand blocks, and pax completed. I probably forgot some other features I added to komodod, hopefully they wont be upset I didnt list them. With DEX, SVM generator and automated LP node, pangea in the process of being completed on the iguana side.

I estimate the amount of code I have written in the last three years is the equivalent of 10 to 20 man years of ordinary coding. How long do you suggest I should have completed it all in? 2 years?

Basically done, Just missing, I dont do.

Sounds like someone making a lot of excuses to me.

You're a fucking flake and everyone whop supports you will get burned eventually! PROMISE!

It is truly comical to watch people (trolls) who have no real knowledge speak as experts in a subject they know nothing about. Entertaining actually...
110  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][KMD][dPoW] Komodo ICO - Zcash Zero Knowledge Privacy Secured by Bitcoin on: January 09, 2017, 08:59:05 PM
I accidentally sent my BTCD to my KMD address instead of the swap
. I have the seed for my KMD address . How do I recover my BTCD ?
importprivkey into BTCD wallet using the KMD wif
How do I do this?
the iguana GUI will be able to convert the ICO passphrase you used into a KMD wif, which can then be imported into both komodod and BitcoinDarkd

so as long as you have the passphrase, your funds are safe

Is the Iguana GUI available ?

This GUI is plagiarized from ordinary eth wallet and operates exactly as ETH wallet, except its non functioning and won't load. One thing to note. Part of the codebase for the wallet has been processed by a contractor from startjoin in december, but the gui has been left unfinished because he later displayed a pathologic disgust to komodo and lifted his pay two fold, which followed by a slight squirrel inside the community and dismissal of that freelancer.

You have been sniffing a little too much of that "sulfur" from your tank, none of that has happened here...

Quote
If you swap before the BTCD snapshot date, you will also receive REVS asset.

Very misleading phrase on swap page. Cry
It can be read so that if you do not swap before snapshot you will not get REVS Angry

Yea, that needs to be changed since you can either leave your BTCD in your wallet until the snapshot and receive REVS or send your BTCD  to the KMD ICO site there by swapping them for KMD and receive the REVES asset as long as you do it within one week (prior to snapshot).

Remember, getting REVS through the ICO site was a recent addition. Originally you had to have BTCD in your wallet and wait for the snapshot.

At least thats how I understand it, please correct me if I'm wrong or left something out.

BTCD swap is a bad move. Im confident that the price of KMD will fall below zero after monero liftoff, the reason will mainly be that filthy komodo crew demolished their reputation by allowing everyone to convert their BTCD into KMD token.

Get a life dude, nobody here gives a hoot what you are "confident" about...
113  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][KMD][dPoW] Komodo ICO - Zcash Zero Knowledge Privacy Secured by Bitcoin on: January 08, 2017, 06:56:12 PM
What was the price of 1 KMD at ICO ?

Its 0.00012909 btc /kmd

now the Price for 1 KMD is 0.00006730

its a half....so the biggest looser are the Bitcoin Investors.....Thank you jl777 for that big loss.

I invested more than 30 BTC in that project....now people can only invest 15 BTC in BTCD and have the same Amount of KMD...thats very frustrating :-(

It is very obvious that project was create for btcd bagholdes, from the beginning it was known who is an Premium investor Wink
Those who invested through via BTC, is only a porter in pseudo exclusive hotel and carries the baggage of some homeless.

Reliable solution would be give for those dissatisfied BTC investors opportunity refund of their BTC and leave komodo project...

But, the REAL issue is this, you need a checkup from the neck up.

Consider the following:

The Suggested ZKP Protocol Which Is Based On the Graph Isomerism Problem:
The researchers proposed a ZKP that is based on the graph isomerism problem in the following manner:
Let’s assume 2 isomorphic graphs G1 and G2 so that G2 = L (G1) where graphs G1 and G2 represent the public key and the private key is represented by the isomorphism L

1- The prover, or the spender, will randomly select an integer a ϵ {0, 1}. In other words, he/she will toss a coin
2- The prover, or the spender, will select a random permutation μ and then formulates a new graph where G3 = μ (Ga)
3- The prover, or the spender, will then send the graph’s adjacency matrix which is G3 to the verifier, or the miner.
4- The verifier, or the miner, will then send a random integer b ϵ {0, 1} to the prover, or the spender, and challenges him/her for λ which maps G3 to Gb
5- If the value of a equals that of b, the prover, or the miner, will send λ = μ-1 to the verifier or, the spender.
6- If a = 0 and b = 1, the prover , or the spender, will send λ = μ-1 * L to the verifier, or the miner.
7- If a = 1 and b = 0, the prover , or the spender, will send λ = μ-1 * L to the verifier, or the miner.
8- The verifier, or the miner, will check if λ (G3 ) = (Gb) and if confirmed will grant access to the prover, or confirm the transaction of the spender.

Repeated rounds of these mathematical operations need to be executed for the verifier, or the miner, to confirm that the prover, or the spender, is the real owner of the private keys related to the statement, or transaction in question, given the fact that the prover can occasionally be lucky enough to the guess the value of b before G3 is successfully sent. The probability of occurrence of this can be estimated by the following function with n representing the number of rounds. Accordingly, with several rounds taking place, the innate probability of this instance is relatively low, and probability of the verifier, or the miner, to confirm the identity of the prover, or the spender, is measured by the “level of confidence” which is calculated by the following function 1 – .
Accordingly, the presented protocol provides a zero-knowledge proof (ZKP) based on the problem of graph isomerism while promoting integrity, soundness and zero knowledge.

Although zero-knowledge proof (ZKP) protocols have been first described in 1985 by Goldwasser, it is still inspiring researchers to innovate new cryptographic systems that omit the need for third parties. Just like the cryptocurrency project, the Komodo Platform, a new cryptographic protocol has been just introduced to combine ZKP with the graph isomersim problem and soon enough we will see a new cryptocurrency that utilizes the idea.

As presented on deep.dot.web

Some of these accusations are pretty unfair to you, but in some people's defense, I don't think they're completely unfounded.  Unfortunately in the past 2-3 years, you've attached your name to way too many projects (whether or not you were directly involved) and most of these projects have not really amounted to anything.  I understand that you've been working hard and have never given up, but at this point it's kind of become your responsibility to prove these accusations wrong and clear your reputation.  Hopefully that can be done once Komodo and all these other features are finally released to the public.

It's not his "responsibility" to prove anything to you.  Everyone else does not have these concerns.  His reputation is fine with everyone but you, and frankly I would rather him work on the code than debate trolls on the internet.

You don't think it's his responsibility to investors, the people who provided funds to help keep his project(s) going?

And you're wrong, there are definitely enough people who has these concerns. Enough to create a reputation.
I have coded what I said I would code for komodo. It is feature complete, in fact with bonus features like PAX. When bugs are found, I fix them reasonably quickly. Are there more bugs left to fix, probably, and when they are found I will fix them.

So, if my reputation is that I finish coding what I say I will and work hard to achieve this, but things out of my control prevent it from being released, how exactly do you suggest I fix it? It is out of my direct control. I have recruited capable devs to do the things that need to be done, but again, I cannot control the timing of other devs.

Does it matter that there is a GUI in beta testing? I just have no idea what would make impatient investors happy other than releasing final product, but again I do not do GUI. I do not do installers. I do not do websites. So I need to wait for those, just like everybody else.

Due to these personal attacks on me, I think it is best that I just take the weekend off as it does not seem to matter how hard I work toward improving the codebase. It is a long term process and not tied to a specific release event, but I guess this is not something that most investors will understand. Since there is nothing I can personally do to speed up the release process, and I will get attacked regardless of what I do.

Hey don't get me wrong. Not trying to attack you. I apologize if I came out that way.  I've been invested in Supernet since day one so I truly only hope the best for this project.

Unfortunately, since you're the lead developer and your name is attached to everything, your reputation and the team's reputation becomes one and the same. I understand lots of things are out of your control. I do wish the team could be more organized and efficient, especially now that there are paid members, supported by funds from investors.  So I hope my frustration is not completely unreasonable.
I am frustrated with the delays on the ICO site, but I dont start complaining to myself. I try not to bug the responsible dev too much as that seems counterproductive.

Turns out even with paid people, it doesnt magically make them able to do all the things I cant do at arbitrary speed.

Also, please take a look at the easydex and iguana GUI. I think it is quite good and satinder and boogieman's team are doing a great job. We hit a delay due to having to add a sandbox around it it to solve a security flaw. This security flaw could well exist in other html based wallets, like XMR GUI had. There was no choice in my mind as it is worth a delay to make it secure.

So, overall, the delays in the ICO site have not slowed the project down. From what I have seen both the ICO site and the GUI(s) are both quite close. However, I dont know html code well enough to be able to know exactly how far away it is.

Just keep in mind that those of us who have actually run projects like this fully understand where you are. I am an early investor and project/IT/manager/coder and I have no problem with the state of progress here. As I tell my teams, I would rather it be done right then done quickly. Keep up the good work please, cheers mate!

116  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BitcoinDark (BTCD)--Financial_Privacy/SuperNET_Core/InstantDEX/PAX/Divs on: January 05, 2017, 10:06:59 PM
So I bought some BTCD in anticipation of the upcoming KMD swap and I installed the BitcoinDark QT wallet.

I noticed a few days ago on 12/30 that I had some additional BTCD in my transaction history that says were mined.   I didn't even know I was mining BTCD and is this something that is done when BitcoinDark QT wallet is open and running or is it just done automatically and the wallet doesn't have to be open?   Thanks for any help and answers.

BTCD is a POS coin. Your wallet verifies transactions (mines) on the network and you get paid for this. When the wallet is opened and running and your logged in (for minting only) you will receive a reward from time to time. If you leave it open you will earn interest up to, I think, 6% per year...

The secret of being boring is to say everything.

Voltaire

That was boring to say the least.
I have another one :

"The secret to success is about doing things that drive success"

As far as I know, many great coins with active devs do not need marketing to create sucess, they just need to prove they are active, and doing usefull things.

Then eventually marketing can be usefull.

Oh, and don't forget good old luck. Many a deal has gone good and bad, simply because of the right place and the right time and vise versa.

BTW, marketing before the fact is just as useful if you are selling something still in development. It drives innovation and helps bring products to market on or before time. I have personally used this tactic in several of my startups. Generating interest in something new is the key to the first step of success.

118  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Official BitBay Thread |Smart Contracts Wallet UPDATE|Decentralized Marketplace on: January 05, 2017, 07:18:13 PM
I think it won't be long before we are discovered. If big money arrives they will do some real research before choosing their investment vehicles.

That may well be but i have my doubts, there seems to be no networking here and what do i get when i type in bitbay to google? you think they will hang around after a small read? i think not.

A small read is no good. Do your research and you will find there is no reason to treat bitbay as a pariah. Sure we as a project got scammed  at the start by others. There is no reason to treat victims as pariahs only criminals like the scammers that stripped the project of its dev and marketing funds.

This specifically I cannot agree with more. It is almost human nature to blame victims as "might makes right" seems to be peoples attitude towards all things. Since liars have the advantage, they usually prevail especially since propaganda is not illegal and hard to take action against even when legal action is potentially possible it is completely unfeasible. The entire PURPOSE of Halos double deposit is to obviate and in many cases eliminate the need for courts and the legal system all together. Unfortunately propaganda is a more complex problem which is why I've said many times before decentralizing the media is many times more important than decentralizing the money. However any serious investor is not so naive anymore and should research a project, more importantly download and test drive the product. Thats why we offer a fawcet in the client for testing contracts.

With that said, I think anyone here in crypto already knows this. Almost everyone with few exceptions knows this is a legitimate project because they can download the software and use it. Unlike 99% of projects we have hundreds of little features that are actively working. So Lituation for example is playing "devils advocate" and he knows it. The only thing standing in the way of Bitbays public acceptance is lack of marketing. And that is essentially a problem that can be solved. It is better to market with technology instead of marketing empty handed. Sure there is always the "get money first and code later" strategy but as most people who know about this project and Halo project they know that is not how we operate. If you want to follow a "market first code later" project then Ethereum is the best candidate for that. "Oh we have bugs, but who cares about our users if they lose money eq. DAO"

Also with BLK there is no reason for me not to support that project, its part of the Halo suite and has distinct features that Bitbay doesn't have. Or at least it used to with the multipool. The difference here is Bitbay I have control over the Github whereas any additions to BLK need to go through rat4. And they aren't a fan of pegging tools... but I'm not sure they fully realize the power of the tool being made here. And thats okay, no two coins are alike nor should they have to be. That is the beauty of crypto. That consumers will get options instead of being forced to use USD. And I guarantee you, once Bitcoin is mainstream people will care about features. They won't give a shit about a project that has a DOGE face or a stupid Trump meme. They will care about what the coin can do for them.

Yes! Exactly. Crypto is slowly moving away from hype toward utility and usability and BAY has a feature set that will be in demand. The past is the past, if you live there instead of the present, you will miss every great thing the happens in the crypto world. This won't be the first time someone dedicated and tenacious made something great out of the ashes of someone else's scam but, it will be the most profitable in spite of the haters...

David: Thank you for your continued dedication and hard work David. It won't be long now till it all pays of.

119  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Coinbase hack rumor on: January 05, 2017, 06:46:53 PM
I would doubt this is true. I believe that coinbase was having some issues with their system capacity when many people were trying to access their coinbase accounts at once.

Well, it better be the case, otherwise the will go bankrupt... or maybe not, but that's what they deserve, specially after all the IRS fuckery and so on, which is expected but it still pisses people off, specially with Brian Arrstrong has been attacking core, shilling classic and other crap, shilling alts like ethereum and being anti segwit.... fuck those guys. We really need decentralized exchanges soon. Hopefully with the LN we can have fast velocity decentralized exchanges, this "hacking" bullshit needs to stop.
1- the IRS issue is not their fault, they are involved in litigation with the IRS and are potentially being forced to hand over records.

2- LN will not make for decentralized exchanges nor will it prevent exchanges from getting hacked. If anything it will probably make exchanges more vulnerable to hacks.

3- coinbase and Armstrong have a right to their opinion and have a right to want their business to move in the direction of their choice. As a general rule, their opinions about what is best for Bitcoin are probably right but that is offtopic here.

The last time a major meeting among the miners regarding a potential block size increase and potentially parting with support of Core, there was heavy FUD of coinbase being insolvent on blockstream friendly mediums.

Thanks for mentioning these issues. I know it is convenient to blame Coinbase for any downward price movement but lets get real, they aren't big enough to create that type of change in such a short time period. And, if anything, they are fighting for the investors, not throwing them to the dogs. So, hate if you want to but, I see them surviving and thriving...

Problem is : What is currently being worked on ?

We need actives devs, new features, marketing too I guess.

Seriously? Go back and read the last 10 pages or so, this is one the most active Dev teams of any coin. There is a V2.0 coming out soon, there is a current (real, commercial) marketing and PR campaign and the Devs post status and information just about every single day. They are always in the forum and will answer any question asked. We have our own forum http://forum.cloakcoin.com/, a kick ass website and, are on multiple exchanges. What more could they possibly do?

Yes, seriously. Why don't you tell me what I am missing out apart from hype ?
It is good to have active Devs, but I still have no idea where things are going.

Just remember, in business, you never give away what your working on until it's time to release it. Most of the Devs and users of these forums are not business oriented and find that hard to understand. They want instant and constant info so they can make a profit from playing the market. While there's nothing wrong with that, there also is nothing wrong with releasing small amounts of info to keep the lines of communication open and maintain interest prior to a major announcement.

CLOAK is doing well, lets support that...
