101  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin transactions - Slow OR Fast on: September 14, 2016, 06:33:31 PM
BTC transactions are not slow. The time requirement of a transaction's process could be influenced by the actual state of the blockchain, but usually it should not be a problem with a proper amount of fee. In the cases when the blockchain has much to process, it is not a problem because local stores would use BTC as an alternative next to fiat.
102  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Doubling Bitcoin? on: September 10, 2016, 06:49:28 PM
All sites where I've been to and that promised "Bitcoin doubling" were no more than pathetic scam attempts. True investments rarely have 200% return rate. You could try gambling, where it, indeed, is possible to double your BTC, but that's not an investment you can rely on, it's more likely a small chance that you could fire.
103  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Philosophy: shall the descendants of the king die? on: September 10, 2016, 06:46:55 PM
In small communities, little kingdoms work well. I think, the descendants of the king won't die as long as there're small communities where that hierarchy's being used. I'm just not sure how long small communities can survive in the future...
104  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: how to make money on bitcointalk without campaigns on: September 10, 2016, 06:02:54 PM
You mean signature campaigns, right? Because, in fact, there're alot of kinds of campaign. You could sell digital goods on the forum. I think, bitcointalk's great advantage to other forums is that you could sell invitations to private sites that have adult content because a major part of the community is adult here.
105  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: At what price did you get your first BTC? Bought or Mined. Are you ahead? POLL. on: September 09, 2016, 07:40:39 PM
I remember, someone paid for me on a gambling site where I actually won so I got my first BTC from his money. Since he didn't want a share from the reward, he said "It's your prize, keep it!" and so I just had my first BTC.
106  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hacked BitcoinTalk Data Finally Surfaces On Dark Net on: September 09, 2016, 07:36:22 PM
I wasn't here that time so I'm not worried about it, but since you're advised to change your log in data regularly and if there's such a security event, with extra caution, I think everyone with at least basic caution's changed their data already.
107  Other / Off-topic / Re: Does sending Bitcoins feel good? on: September 09, 2016, 07:33:01 PM
Yes, it feels super because I know that I'm helping someone with it, more often than not myself with paying for another game on my favorit site(s)  Wink
108  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETC rising to 0.01btc ? on: September 09, 2016, 07:26:18 PM
Although it seems to be rising to 0.01 BTC, you should be aware of your own desires. Until it reaches that value, its possibility to crash becomes dangerously high. You should consider the possibility of a crash too and how it'd affect you, not only the rise in price.
109  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Sold all my eth for etc on: September 09, 2016, 07:22:54 PM
I can understand your point for now, but I advise you to consider a third possibility too because although there seems to be a race between ETH and ETC between users now, in the future maybe both of them'll fade away in the shadow of a better coin.
110  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: ART SUMMER SALE on: September 09, 2016, 07:15:43 PM
Very nice paintings and have fantastic values for prices! I like that you are supporting alternative cryto-currencies in your art. Good luck with sales!
111  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ◥◣ ICO LIVE ◥◣ Decentralized Social Bookmarking ◥◣ Postbase ◥◣ on: September 09, 2016, 07:11:34 PM
I think it will be very interesting concept. looking forword for it. this is something really good for bloggers. who want to increase their additional earnings.
as above  you said it will attract people out of crypto related. I am totally agree with you.

Alot of blog writers would be attracted to it, even out of crypto, because they would feel more motivated with the knowledge that their work that they put into each post would have visible value.
112  Other / Meta / Re: Is there any way to know if anyone has mentioned you in an reply or quote? on: September 05, 2016, 08:12:57 PM
It's very difficult because not only you've to go to your posts and check the pages from the links but also you've to check every page in the given thread after your post for the string "Quote from: Qwitty", which would make such a feature not only difficult, but slow too, I think.
113  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Happy mining on: September 05, 2016, 06:14:29 PM
I know that for me and many members here mining's a fun, nerdy hobby. We're doing it because we still can and we try to balance our costs with our earnings.

But as an interesting fact, mining difficulty COULD go down. Who knows if it does in the future...
114  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: MiniFaucet Script (a MyFaucet replacement) on: September 05, 2016, 06:10:01 PM
Although making money with hosting faucets may seem easy, but I've never ever successfully made money with faucet hosting :-/
I truly am interested in some advice from someone who's experienced in making money with hosting faucets.

And I'm still thankful for OP because I'm interested in project development and find the code very educational Grin
115  Other / Off-topic / Re: The bitcoin in daily life on: September 05, 2016, 06:04:09 PM
My experience is that it's very difficult to use BTC in daily life for daily jobs like buying food on the street. People could find this technology amazing, but they won't trust it while they don't understand it and people who aren't familiar with technology can hardly handle BTC and your regular street food seller is most likely isn't someone who's into technology ( respect to those of them who are )...

This is just a little sneak peek, much more to come:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZGR_BRoUZcc
wow nice seeing this dev, really a big future ahead good luck and congrats in advance, keep it up.

Thanks! Still a lot of work that needs to go into the project over the next few months, but I'm confident that it will preform nicely once released into the wild. The full UI demo will cover the majority of the features (custom post types, delegates, moderation) that will be available in the first release, and will give people a better understanding of how Postbase will function.

While I was reading the description I was amazed by the concept, but I was afraid too because I found it difficult to imagine all of them in action. The UI demo'll help us to sum up what we've read so far in our thinking. Because usability, how easy it's to see through and navigate in the network, is very important at a social network where alot of and very differently thinking individuals gather and the network should remain friendly to all of them.
117  Other / Off-topic / Solve a puzzle on: September 02, 2016, 07:06:12 PM
Hello! I'm looking for someone who has too much free time and who would solve a puzzle for me.

I'm not really interested in the puzzle itself, but want to obtain the content that I could access if I solved it. If you manage to solve it and send the solution to me, I'll access the content that is protected by this puzzle and share the content with you via forum PM. As far as I know, the content's technology related and fun so I recommend this task only to people who really have time for it and want to help.

I'll PM you the puzzle, which will be a message hidden in an encrypted code.
118  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: hello looking into investing into mining on: September 02, 2016, 01:40:40 PM
Free electricity is the best but if you pay any amount for electricity, you will have to calculate with it. Since you are in waiting already, in your place I would wait the R4 hardware. You don't have to buy the software as there are very good open-source software. You still should do proper optimization and maybe it's worth the look up the parameters in related guides depends on what software you will use.

Do not believe everything you read.
R4 is already on sale a week.

Even More overpriced than the S9 .
Today you can only use with them one software  BMminer Version 1.0.0

You are right.

That's right, I didn't see that. Is BMminer not open-source, though? As far as I know, BMminer doesn't respect the open source license. Will we be able to use that miner with other software in the future?

120  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Bitcoin heating on: September 02, 2016, 10:32:18 AM
People who use your miners to heat. That's a straight idea since miners generate alot of heat, but How do you control the heat? Won't your miners overheat? Won't they get damaged? Using them to heat and still keeping the temperature between safe values could be complicated...
