Do know if the ETC balances were granted to ETH holders on poloniex, who were lending all of the coins when the "gift" was sent out?
I guess that happened to me.
I've asked the Poloniex support about my ETH placed in lending at the fork time and got the answer: "When you loan funds, you forfeit possession and control to a borrower in exchange for a debt owed to you. If your funds were on loan when the fork occurred, whoever was in possession of them at that time received the ETC. This may have been the borrower, or it may have been another trader the borrower sold the ETH to. A trader buying from the borrower may even have withdrawn that ETH from Poloniex before the hard fork." Thank you basyaru! That is a true pitty - that happened to me too. |

Due to the usual delays and problems that happen on the launch and for security reasons, we decided to make the distribution of the coins manually. When the process is completed we will perform the distribution in the first 24-48 hours. The process will be carried out both on the web and in a spreadsheet for internal use to avoid any problems and ensure a stable and fair release for everyone.

I currently have 3 transfers, 75k coins, not confirmed fully yet. One has 9 confirmations 1 has 7 and 1 has 5. Will these transfers still go through ok ?
Once done do i just backup my wallet.dat file ready for the new wallet ?
All we are really doing with the fork is to activate PoW mining, so everything to do with addresses and private keys do not change so your wallet.dat should be fully compatible with the v.2.1 wallet. You may have to re-sync but no coins should be lost in this process. If you have lost coins after the hard-fork, just give it a day and PM me with details and we will see what we can do. FURTHER UPDATE
1. I have informed Livecoin and Coinexchange and they are ready to update to version 2.1 so there should be minimal disruption if you are trading. 2. I have also contacted some pool operators to see if we can get some pools up after the hard-fork. You can also solomine (don't ask how, if you know how you know, if not please look it up). Laters.... i have a simple pool setup for my personal mining/testing.... if we do not have a public pool up when needed.. i'll pass the community the required info to connect if anyone is interested... cheers Cheers BBoBB, I think many here would be interested. |
