^Yambub I went to a link on your post and seen this.
{"status":403,"message":"Invalid API key."}

Thanks for looking Racey, I think that's just the link as it appears in the php file, It's showing as a link automatically but it shouldn't be, it's just part of the code. I tried putting it in code tags but the lines ran off the page so I put it in a quote tag instead. My bad.

It looks like you're guessing blindly and it may be something else entirely. What error do you see exactly? Set $display_errors = true; in your config.php file to see details.

You are probably right.

I did what you said, here's the errors I am getting:
Quote
Warning: fopen(): https:// wrapper is disabled in the server configuration by allow_url_fopen=0 in /home/friendsv/public_html/wp-content/plugins/99bitcoins-btc-faucet/libraries/faucetbox.php on line 31

Warning: fclose() expects parameter 1 to be resource, boolean given in /home/friendsv/public_html/wp-content/plugins/99bitcoins-btc-faucet/libraries/faucetbox.php on line 36

Hope that makes progress possible, if you can interpret it for me,
thanks

Yes, it uses cURL, as listed in the requirements on https://faucetinabox.com/ . If it fails it'll try using PHP's fopen, but that detection of failure may not work properly on some hostings. You can set 'disable_curl' => true, in your config.php file to always use fopen, but I really recommend you to use cURL if possible.

Thanks NeedIfFindIt and Kazuldur. Host says your IPs are not blocked. I tried installing a separate faucetinabox to test and that fails as well. Host says you may have blocked their IP, can you check?

server IP is 82.221.129.20

It may well be blocked because they are a privacy-focussed ISP based in Iceland. They do VPSs among other things, so you might have their IP range blocked.

I want to use faucetbox, hope you can help or I will have to figure out manual payments.
Cheers

It is behind cloudflare reverse proxy.

Sorry aobut this... My host says that it should be working then, no server reason for it not to. He asked is the script using curl to connect to the API?

Anyone know the answer?

It is behind cloudflare reverse proxy.

You can find a list of cloudflare IPs is here:

https://www.cloudflare.com/ips/

Hi, thanks a lot for that.

Hi, I'm not getting any response from the support ticket thingy, so I'll try asking here instead.

What IP address (or range) does the API request go to? My host said they will whitelist it. At the moment I'm not able to use the service at all.

Thanks,
Andy

Same problem again...
you have an advertiser who send a popup (no popunder) and my nickname is changed in an alphanumeric number...
this is very boring.

I think what's happening is that when a new user comes to the site they are given a numeric username and 100 credits to start off with. they can either carry on with that name or register with email etc. As an existing user, your browser puts in the email field for you, so you're used to not having to fill that out.

You click anywhere and that activates the pop-up but instead of just popping up a new page with ad, it opens the ad into the existing page and pops up a new one which becomes the focus, leaving the ad as an inactive tab to load in the background. This new window has you already recognized as the new user with the pseudonym, because you didn't actually login.

Another successful withdrawal.

Instead of going down when adsense was lost, this site is going from strength to strength.

Incidentally, what's with all the whining about not making enough money? Imagine if someone complained about not making enough money in one of those casino sites where everyone actually loses money? You'd get laughed out of the forum!

Just to confirm, I got over the threshold and the balance went to zero but nothing appeared in wallet. Definitely a scumbag.

Withdraw of 250,000 went through instantly, thanks. Very good site, everything is clear and the users are friendly and helpful.

Hi Thanks to all who replied. I think it's resolved now. Seems that using faucets has its downsides as well. All those tiny transaction made a huge file when I spent some. Still I got it all for nothing so no worries.

@Herbert2020 - Yes I should have included the transaction, my bad!

It's amazing, everything you need ot know is out there somewhere and there are people willing to spend the time to give advice and pointers. Thank you!

112  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Default but fees are huge on: August 16, 2016, 02:01:52 PM

There are a couple of good websites that can you can visit to learn about the fee, for example this one: https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Transaction_fees

Cheers! That will save me a lot of searching through bad info... and keep me busy for the next hour or so.
113  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Default but fees are huge on: August 16, 2016, 01:58:56 PM

Indeed, this one was huge: 10252 bytes
https://bitcoinfees.21.co/ currently advices 80 satoshi's per byte, so the recommended fee should have been around 80*10252 satoshis = 820160 satoshi = 0.0082016 BTC.

If you would have used a default fee of 0.0005, the transaction would probably have taken a really long time to confirm

Great, thanks for the quick reply. So it's probably because all my BTC in the wallet is tiny transactions from faucets? If so then there's nothing to worry about, that's just how things are.
114  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Default but fees are huge on: August 16, 2016, 01:54:13 PM
How big is your transaction?  The transaction fees depends on the size of the transaction.  The default transaction fees for normal sized transaction shouldn't even be close to that.

You can change the transaction settings in Preferences > Transactions.  If you don't know what to do with it and don't want to mess up just use dynamic fees and set it to 120% or something.

thanks Jhanzo. It's a small amount but I got it all from faucets so maybe there's a lot of small transactions contributing to it. This is the transaction, I'd appreciate any insights, I'm only able to learn by doing!
https://blockchain.info/tx/a974e8525a969a6f9d5343adda5def273363d0e2be449d6a353fb6dccd4273da

In my wallet, .02188985 is how much went out. I need to understand what's happening before I start recommending BTC to folks in Africa!
115  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Default but fees are huge on: August 16, 2016, 01:47:10 PM

p.s. Reminder: fee is not a fixed amount per transaction, fee is calculated first of all based on the size of your transaction.

Thanks, this is all fairly new to me at the moment. There's an option to set the fee per kb and this is set default to .0005. It's also set to dynamic fees 100%. Maybe I just happened to have a lot of dust in that transaction and that made it big?

This is the transaction: https://blockchain.info/tx/a974e8525a969a6f9d5343adda5def273363d0e2be449d6a353fb6dccd4273da

I just want to figure it out so I can understand better how it works. Fortunately I'm only doing small transactions as yet. I got it all from faucets, I have to get a good understanding before recommending it to others!

All the best
Andy

Another payout, thanks admin.

This faucet is stable and reliable.
118  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Need YOUR opinions on a project. on: August 12, 2016, 06:23:45 PM
I just thought of another thing. A lot of faucets don't allow themselves to be opened in a frame or similar set-up. This results in frequent notices "this faucet cannot be opened in a frame, click to open in a new window". I think it's better to just open them in a new window or tab and then when you close it, the original window updates itself to reflect the action taken.

I dunno, just to me the frame thing seems unprofessional and clunky-looking.

119  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Need YOUR opinions on a project. on: August 12, 2016, 05:27:33 PM

So, what I need is your opinion, on how you'd like to see a faucet/rotator site operate.

Useful tools for faucet collectors, everything on one page.

Quote
What payouts would you like to see on a 15 minute basis/hourly basis? (Both, on site faucet and 3rd party faucets)

Same as Faucetgame, that's fine, maybe with similar daily bonus or some other extra for frequent use.

Quote
What annoys you in faucet rotator sites?

It's clear that the operator only put them there to get referrals, there doesn't seem to be much care for the user.

Quote
What would you like to see in a faucet rotator?

The main priority is to increase my efficiency. A secondary one would be the ability to find new faucets without having to wade through loads of spammy sites because the owner couldn't be bothered to check them out thoroughly before "recommending" them. If you take a look at http://www.myfaucets.website/ it has a lot of good features worth considering, once you set up your own list there (my worklist). It's increased my income by about 50%.

  • a "copy my address to clipboard button (amazingly useful)
  • I can prioritise my faucets to appear in order of highest payout so e..g. if I only have time for 5 or 7 I can easily see the top paying ones whose timer is ready
  • There's a priority column I can set to make sure a lower paying faucet goes to top of list as soon as it's available, overriding the payout column.
  • In the main rotator list, I can easily add a faucet to my own list if I like it.

This is great from the operator's point of view as well because he can see which new faucets are most popular from his users, and then add them to the main list too, with his own referral link. No need to rely on feedback. The amount of data this collects would be useful for all sorts of analysis.

Quote
Which faucets do you use in general? (Name faucets and micro-wallets they use. eg: "XAPO", "FaucetBox", etc")

See in PM I will send, it's easier.

Looking forward to everyone's opinion.

Thanks for your time guys.
