In prohashing i have get more ETC then orginal pools.
Prohashing is a good option for people that want to use asic script miners but don't want to mess with mining another script coin and then trading it for ETC.. Set it and forget it

I see your point and I am just thinking out loud... Right now we have 2 Ethereum's The HF and the Classic. The one right now that is second in line to BTC is the HF Ethereum. I am thinking if I am a new investor that does not know about all this drama and wants to invest he sees HF and Classic. He would be like whats up with this?? Which one do I use?  blah blah looks unprofessional.. I don't know what the best thing to do but I don't want to see classic get slowly crushed by the HF.

We are not there yet but to get Classic up and going like HF already is will take some time to get organized. During this time everyone will just keep pounding heads saying that classic is dying and stay away from it.

I am not thinking it should be done now and hopefully never but if things get bad enough it might be best to re-brand the original but still keep all the same tools that HF uses. Let's hope it does not come to that. Time will tell.. If enough miners bail out then you can bet they will try the 51 percent attack again. The most important thing is we must keep people on board and interested. What ever it takes.

Why would ethtards want pos where the whales get richer? It makes no sense, it reminds me of gawtards
I don't think they understand that mining will end.  They will either come to us and mine ETC when ETH goes to PoS or,
they will sell their GPUs and stake the cash back into ETH.

The people who buy those second hand GPUs will then be looking to mine a PoW coin i.e.ETC.  Cutting off PoW just means other coins get the hashpower.

This will be interesting to see how it all plays out.   Cheesy
I think we should change the name from Etherium Classic it would have to be good.
How about something like
"Genesis"
gen·e·sis  (jĕn′ĭ-sĭs)
n. pl. gen·e·ses (-sēz′)
1. The coming into being of something; the origin. See Synonyms at beginning.

I think if we are always known as ether classic it sounds to much like a cheap knock off.. There is already so much of that in crypto. Bitcoin script ect ect.. Just a thought

ethereal ?
I still like Genesis as a new name, I think we need something without any reference to ether.. I think it would be better for new investors so there is no confusion.
We can still tell people its basically the exact same thing except cheaper and better.  Smiley

It happened to CocaCola back in 1988 remember, but people didn't like the new improved "NewCocaCola", even though they had RunDMC  promoting it.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mcHCjaBcH7M
They had to bring back the old "Classic CocaCola" along side "NewCocaCola" or people would just drink Pepsi.

Within 6 months they dropped the "NewCocaCola",  within 12 months they dropped the word "Classic" from the old one whos sales were booming.  The rest is history.  They had a hard time for a while though.  It hurt the share price and caused uncertainty for a good while.

But for a rebranding, if we need to, yes firehawk71 i do like the "Genesis" idea

I think it would be better to re-brand in the early stage for the reasons you mentioned above. I don't think its good to let people get to attached to the Ether Classic name because people don't like a big change once you are to far along. I think now would be a good time to consider it.  Smiley

Testing the Wallet ETH wallet that I downloaded on a clean Mac that has never had ETH on it... I made sure to select do not support fork and it seem to set up fine. I just made a tiny deposit from polinex to see if it would work. It showed up fine. I then made a wallet contract and tested it and it works fine also. But when I go to the new Explorer that was just made and punch in my deposit address I get a 404 error not found. I tried using my account number and then my tx number and then my new wallet number all with same results.

Any ideas why the new explorer is not seeing my balance? I only put in .29 ETC for testing all went fine except the explorer is not seeing it

TRY THIS ONE https://gastracker.io let us know how you get on?
Yes!! Thank you! That one works! It shows both my small transactions in and the total balance.. Thanks!

It does not say on myeither.com which chain they are on when you create a wallet.. How do we know it is Classic?
Thanks!

Prohashing Steve Sokolowski led his flock to slaughter
I think prohashing is a great pool. I am able to use my asic script miners to get ETC.. 250Mhs worth  Grin

Is there a good block explorer somewhere?

These are from the Ann first page here

http://classic.aakilfernandes.com (says its deprecated?)

http://explorer.ethereumclassic.com/ (says its deprecated?)

http://gastracker.io (wont let you search an address - thats what block explorers are meant to do - I thought?)

https://minergate.com/blockchain/etc/blocks (lets you search - but it reports "no result found" - with all addresses I tried incl a recent miner address?)

There must be one that works that folk are using?
I was wondering the same thing.

If anyone has any script mining asics machines you can put them to use mining ETC.. You wont be supporting the chain because its script but you can still select ETC as your payout
https://prohashing.com
Wow, i have script ASIC!  Can anyone feedback on this site?  Is it a scam?

Don't bother. Just mine whatever your ASIC is for and buy ETC with the proceeds if you want to support it. Paying someone else 5% to do it is ridiculous.
For me the extra fee is worth it.. I have 240Mhs in script asic miners.. I use the prohashing pool because you just select your coin you want to be paid in and the pool switches to whatever script coin is most profitable does all the work for you then pays you in whatever you like.. Its set it and forget it. No cashing out this or that coin then transfering them to a exchange. Then trading them for ETC then withdrawing back to your wallet. Rinse and repeat over and over. This is not for everyone as some like doing it that way. But for me the extra fee is worth it. I can just pick ETC as my payout coin and let the pool figure out what coin to mine and do all the exchange stuff.

I have been with them for a while... They are legit.. They are PPS so the fees are 4.99 percent but its a nice pool great owners! They have there own forum easy to get a hold of if you have problems

...make sure you download an ethminer with cuda support (cuda is used for nvidia cards)...somebody give him an example of a bat file...I think he just needs the bat file for an nvidia card here....
I have a cuda I am mining at
https://etc.suprnova.cc/index.php?page=login

I just made a very simple bat file but its just for the suprnova pool
ethminer -G -SP 2 -S etc-eu.suprnova.cc:3333 -O USERNAME.WORKER:x

Replace username and worker with your own that you set up in the pool

Explain for this newbie... So lets say they get 51 Percent and attack etc.. So they say they can stop transactions.. But then what? Wouldnt they have to keep 51 percent at all times? What happens when they stop the attack. Wouldnt ETC just go back to normal?
116  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum Classic: Immutable Smart Contracts on: July 29, 2016, 12:36:30 AM
which wallet did you install? mist? jaxx?

Not mist but https://github.com/ethereum/mist/releases

https://github.com/ethereum/mist/releases/download/0.8.1/Ethereum-Wallet-win64-0-8-1.zip

I don't know how they're different. Ethereum sucks compared to btc. I can't even see my transactions wtf?

so Ethereum-Wallet-win64-0-8-1.zip will work on eth classic?

Seems to work for me. It uses geth 1.4.10 and asks about the fork.

This is how I got a wallet.

Not mist but https://github.com/ethereum/mist/releases

https://github.com/ethereum/mist/releases/download/0.8.1/Ethereum-Wallet-win64-0-8-1.zip

You can't have the updated blockchain though. So if you already had this software you need to rename Mist and Ethereum in appdata to start fresh and choose no fork. Also backup your old ones and you'll be safe.

I don't know how they're different. Ethereum sucks compared to btc. I can't even see my transactions wtf?

You don't even need to trust us since we're using eth code. Ethf had to get new code not ethc.

So I need to download a new copy 0-8-1 for Windows and select no fork.. Then it must re-sync the whole blockchain correct? OK then my question is when you deposit some either classic is it normal when you select to see the $ amount for it to be incorrect? Is anyone working on a new wallet just for classic? I ask because I am thinking I might just wait.. But I got a few hundred sitting on polinex I would like to withdraw.. Also for the newbies like me.. You lost me about the part if you had already downloaded you must change some of the file names? I think we need a step by step process on this process

Can someone point me to a link on how to set up a wallet? Thanks!
118  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ETC] Ethereum Classic: Immutable Smart Contracts on: July 28, 2016, 05:39:02 PM
https://prohashing.com is now supporting ETC. It is a PPS pool so fees are a bit higher 4.99 percent. But the advantage is they are a script only pool so you can use your ASIC miners to get ETC!

I'll just go for it.

It's only 2000

maybe find out if they updated first?

Well, considering they removed XVG, I'm not holding my breathe. I really think Bleu is not going to be around much longer.

My withdrawal is still pending. I'll post if/when I get it.
That tells you a lot about the people running Bleu. The pool that I had some verge in had the same problem. They just needed to upgrade there wallet.. No big deal! If Bleu can't even do that then I would never use them.
