101  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Tapales for Unified Super Bantamweight Title - December 26 on: December 23, 2023, 02:24:52 PM
Easily said than done but this is the only way Tapales would win the fight, be aggressive and not just be on the ring to survive.

So far that hasn't been done by the previous opponents of Inoue after the Donair rematch.

Paul Butler and Stephen Fulton both survive longer than the usual average of Inoue's opponents, but they didn't come to win, they just came to survive, unfortunately for them, Inoue was quicker than what they are expecting, so in the later rounds, they were still caught by some clean shots that resulted them to lose via KO.

Against Butler, round 10 KO, and against Fulton, it's round 8 KO.

So with your statement that Tapales has to be aggressive, it's either the fight will end early on Inoue's favor or his, that's how I see it.
102  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Investing in Bitcoin will bring you hope and gambling will leave you destitute. on: December 23, 2023, 11:38:30 AM
Investing and gambling can be done at the same time. The problem with some people is that they treat both as investing when in reality they don't have the skills to be profitable in gambling. Well, investing in bitcoin isn't that easy also, because if you don't have the patience and discipline, you'll also end up losing, you know, there's a bear marekt that would result to bitcoin dumping so hard, so if someone panic, he might have sold it at a loss.

What I'm trying to emphasize is that nothing is certain when it comes to investing, that's why there's a risk on investing because it doesn't guarantee a profit. While gambling would only make our life worse if we don't know how to handle it, I mean, losing $18k and end up $18k in debt, that's too much stupidity in their, and that is clearly the result of gambling addiction, so he needs to man up, face the problem and solve it, and make sure to learn from that mistake, even the hard way.
103  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is Michael Jordan a gambling addict ? on: December 21, 2023, 02:33:29 PM
Did he admit he is an addict?

If not, then he isn't a gambling addict. I don't know if gambling addiction could also be a positive thing, because we can be on a scenario that we are making a lot of money in gambling and we are getting addicted to it, and people who sees us that we are going to the casinos all the time believe we are addict, but personally I feel like I'm okay being judge and called as gambling addict.

In the case of MJ (The GOAT), I'm sure he isn't addict in gambling, he just have a lot of money that he wants to throw to get entetained, that's it, nothing more, nothing less.

I knew a retired NBA player which which reportedly addicted to gambling, and that is Charles Barkley, but never heard MJ gets reported before.

105  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Teofimo Lopez Vs. Jamaine Ortiz WBO Welterweight Title February 8 on: December 20, 2023, 02:55:19 PM
This is a very risky fight for Teofimo Lopez, Ortiz gave Lomachenko a tough fight when they fought and He's going to give Lopez a much tougher fight, Ortiz is a guy who doesn't back up and has powers on both hands and can deliver lethal body shots, we all know Lopez

Teofimo definitely knows what he is doing.

you say Ortiz is a tough opponent of Lopez but the former losses to Loma via Unanimous decision, I didn't see the struggle there from Loma. Remember that Teo beat Loma, so I think Teo here is the one who should dictate this fight.

I'm not sure if there's an official betting odds yet for this fight, but according to https://www.oddschecker.com/boxing/teofimo-lopez-v-jamaine-ortiz/winner

Teo is a heavy favorite with -500 odds.

108  Economy / Gambling discussion / Which are you more comfortable with, betting on low spreads or high spreads? on: December 12, 2023, 12:21:16 AM
First of, let's define the meaning of spreads.

Quote
Spreads are among the more popular forms of sports betting.

The spread essentially levels the playing field for gambling on a sports contest, introducing a so-called “handicap” for wagering on the game or match.

Let’s say the Kansas City Chiefs are hosting the Cleveland Browns, with the Chiefs as a significant moneyline favorite. As an alternative to betting on the Chiefs at significant minus odds, you can bet on the spread so the margin of victory or defeat comes into play.

Spreads can be frustrating because last-second plays that don’t change who won or lost can still sink your wager.

You can read more in here ; https://www.forbes.com/betting/sports-betting/what-is-a-spread/

For the sake of discussion, let's select one of the games today in the NBA. If you prefer to bet on the favorites, which one would you choose and why?

1- Sixers -13.5 vs Washington Wizards
2-Magic -2 vs Cavaliers

110  Economy / Gambling / Re: Casinos not asking for KYC to register and play, but do require it to withdraw on: December 10, 2023, 02:57:38 AM
Basically the user opened the account without reading the terms and conditions where it was written that KYC is not required while creating the account but KYC must be done while withdrawing dollars.
This is often the mistake of gamblers who are not taking time to read the rules before playing on the particular casino. Common reason, they thought every casinos have similar rules which they are already aware of. Then after experiencing a problem, that's how they learn it's different after breaking one of it.
KYC is a basic rule in a regulated casino, even if we don't read the TOS, it should be automatic in our mind that it is existing.
Casinos aren't cheating if they allow you to gamble without KYC but later require, it's their rules that they can implement anytime, so there's nothing wrong with that, they'll keep their reputation intact.

It is very problematic for the citizens of those countries where gambling and casinos are completely illegal by the government because citizens of those countries face official trouble if they submit valid documents to gambling sites.
The gambler itself is at fault in this situation since you can't access a casino if your country is restricted unless you use a vpn. Therefore, from the beginning, the gambler already know the consequences of his/her action but still chose to ignore it.

That's the risk we are talking, and we should be aware of its consequences.

No reason to submit a document or something to comply with the KYC as we know in the first place our country is ban from gambling. We were only able to gamble because we use a VPN where it can change our location, but once KYC kicks in, it won't coencide with the IP location and the address written in the documents, so funds are freeze and safe to say it's "GOODBYE"....
111  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 10, 2023, 02:29:55 AM
It has been kind of crazy seeing the Chicago Bulls payout so well without Zach Lavine.  For whatever reason their chemistry just seems to be so much better with him not out there on the floor. I’m not really sure what it is, or if it’s really more so just a coincidence..but it leads me to believe they’ll be pushing it trade Lavine harder than ever. Who’s getting him!?

Maybe the Heat? They wanted to get another superstar to help Jimmy on their campaign and I think Lavine would be best suitable for them. The players that could have been traded if the Lillard trade push through, they're also the ones that will be sent for Lavine.

There's no reason keeping Lavine if he's not happy with the team, and as you have notice, the team played better without him, we know the answer to this.

113  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: December 05, 2023, 09:41:10 PM
Some good games on tonight as the in-season tournament rolls on. TNT is airing them so it will be a good night for basketball. I like the Bucks beating the Knicks in the first game, but the second game could go either way.
I would still back the Bucks here, it's a home game and I find it very easy for them as I feel Knicks are quite inconsistent.
Giannis would be monster again and Lillard love to prove himself in bigger stage like this in-season tournament which has a playoff feel.

I think the Suns have a better team but they’ve got some injuries and the Lakers are playing well. We all know how cheap LeBron is so I’m not sure betting against him with $500,000 at stake is a good idea.

Lakers have won the last 4 games, all this year, so betting agains them is like going against the trend. However, I agree with you about the Suns being the better team so I'd follow.

Last game Suns loss by 3 points, but Booker was out (Beal in).. this we have Booker and Durant which are a good combo so far.
114  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 29, 2023, 11:29:52 AM
I was watching the game and was already in the impression that the Warriors already owned it, to my surprise that back-to-back errors of both
Curry and Green bring the green light for the home team.
Same here, who would have thought they'll lose, they're even up 18 points at some point.  Sad

Leading by 5 or 6 points less than a minute of the game, not sure what happened but it seems that Green's presence is no longer effective.

They need to find more adjustments to complete whatever they start to secure the win, else, it will keep disappointing them
if the same outcome will take place.

If it wasn't the warriors who are leading in with seconds left in the game, I would think that it's a 50/50 game, but it's the Warriors, they are good at this crucial moment, so it's very uncharacteristics for them to make mistakes especially coming from Curry and then Draymond who are considered as a clutch players.

I guess there's nothing we can do here. Don't blame them too much or they'll not win again, LOL... Better luck next time, Warriors still got more games, it's now up to you guys if you would still trust them to disappoint you again -- Grin Grin

Crazy game with crazy sequence, here's the highlights of the game

Curry trap = turnover
Draymond unforce error = turnover

Malik Monk 3 point shot
Malik Monk 2 point shot (though shot) Sink!!!

Curry miss the last shot, Sac Kings win!

Yeah the ending was truly great.
The Warriors also made a bad choice using their last timeout to challenge/check a "foul on a 3" that was called as an offensive foul by Curry.
It was so obvious what Curry was trying to do and using the timeout was truly a mistake. Needless to say that the call was confirmed and Sacramento got the ball.

Having no timeout in the last 3 or 4 minutes really also cost them the game, aside the turnovers and questionable shot selection of course.

That was truly and entertaining game, when these two teams are playing against each other, you can already expect the kind of entertainment they'll bring. Warriors are good in keeping leads but this time the Kings were able to come back and worse is they beat them by one point coming from the winning shot of Malik Monk, that shot was so difficult but it still sunk. Damn, Warriors, missing the old days, they really are on a bad spot not, their standing aren't improving well... but I'm still not losing faith on this team.

Having a lead by 18 deep in the third and then lose seems like normal these days.  Roll Eyes

Wondering if someone here were able to grab that moneyline through live betting? I'm pretty sure that's a huge ML odds, maybe at least x5?

With this lose, GSW are now at #10 with 8-10 record (very unusual of them)
117  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Thurman Vs Stanionis WBA world welterweight December 9 on: November 24, 2023, 12:35:47 PM
I did check my favorite crypto sports bookies, and it seems that this fight is not yet listed and we are barely like 3 weeks from the fight and we haven't heard anything yet? Perhaps there's no more hype on the name of Thurman already.
It's likely that this fight is not yet confirmed to happen on the planned date. Furthermore, I don't think it's Thurman who has lost the hype; it's probably due to his opponent, who isn't as popular. I have a feeling that this fight might be postponed or, worse, canceled.

And obviously it has something to do when he lost his fight against the legendary Manny Pacman Pacquiao and then he trash talk him and in the fight he can't back all his talking. He made a comeback beat Barrios, but If I'm not mistaken, Barrios is now a world champion. And this could be another reason why this fight shouldn't be in the PPV as it might not sell.

Thurman has to be patient. Although he lost to Pacman, it's not something that should halt his career. His only loss was to Pacman, a living legend. I would have thought his career was over if he continued losing, but he came back and started winning, so there's still hope for him. Let's wait for a bit and see if the odds are out early in December or if there's an announcement regarding the cancellation or postponement of this fight.
118  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: November 24, 2023, 11:59:10 AM
With Bishop and Cstand leading the Kings, i think the spread is manageable to cover. The trend since last Wednesday is that the favorite always win and cover the spread so breaking or going against the trend is a bad idea. ROS is performing bad and their import is due for replacement so his morale will not be so high in this game.

Ginebra -8.5 @1.86 vs ROS

My first game bet won so i would not break the trend  Grin.

An impressive victory! I'm also delighted that the game turned out to be high-scoring; my bet was on over 195, and it easily hit in this match. Looking ahead to the final game, Barangay Ginebra is currently at -9. It seems people are heavily favoring Ginebra to win, so I intend to align with that sentiment. If we lose, so be it. One certainty is that Ginebra will approach this game seriously; they won't allow this opportunity to slip away. Hopefully, not only will they secure a win, but they'll also cover the spread.

Game will start in a minute, so good luck with your bets. Me, I think I'm gonna wait for the live betting as I felt like Ginebra is not gonna have a strong start, the first half will be given to the desperate team and Ginebra will take over the 2nd half.
119  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Jerwin Ancajas vs Takuma Inoue - Nov 15 on: October 23, 2023, 06:25:52 AM
Just saw a video about this fight pop up on my Facebook feed, so I thought I'd check our thread here. Let's give it a little bump so it doesn't get lost. This fight is just around the corner, less than a month away, if the date hasn't changed.

Anyone got any new scoop on this fight? Please share the info if you've got it.

So far there is no scoop yet, so this fight is still on schedule unless we hear that it's going to be re-scheduled or worst being cancelled. And with that, the date is still November 15 an yeah, the fight date is getting closer and for fans of Jerwin, this is really a good chance to get another belt.

And I agree, it seems that the Japanese is talking over as far as the number of champions in boxing in the Asian region.

There were years that the Filipino has Manny, Nonito, Donnie Nietes, but they all retired or in case of Nonito, we don't know if he is going to still continue to fight or just hang up his gloves too. And so they need to breed good boxers so that the country will have a lot of champions.

Let's see if Ancajas once again will get the belt and at least have a Filipino with a championship belt before the end of the year.

Ever since I followed boxing during my high school days I thought it was really the Japanese that were dominating the Asian scenes. Thailand is next and then the Philippines at third. If only the Philippine government and business sponsors focused on the sport that they are really world class then it can easily surpass Thailand and rival the Japanese.

There are 17 divisions in men's boxing and 4 major belts. The Ring Magazine only awards its belts to the very best in a division but if we count it as well that would make it 85 belts.

You know, it's kinda weird that our government isn't putting more money into sports where we're actually good, like boxing, billiards, and others. They're all about basketball, even though we don't really shine on the world stage – like that time we hosted the FIBA World Cup and only won one game.

But boxing, that's a different story. It's growing, and it's mostly thanks to private investors. It's awesome that our boxers, like Pacman, who've made some serious cash during their careers, are all about boosting the sport in the country.

Quote
At the moment Japan owns 11 belts compared to the Philippines 2 which comes from Marlon Tapales who's expected to lose it all this year to Inoue.

Meanwhile, Ancajas' main sparmate is unified champion Marlon Tapales which is not bad at all. Although Takuma is much faster than Tapales.

It's a bit sad, but it's what it looks like. Inoue is just on a whole other level compared to Tapales, and it'd take a massive miracle for Tapales to pull off a win.

What's probably happening now is that Ancajas is sparring with Tapales, while Takome is getting some work in with his brother Naoya.
120  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Jerwin Ancajas vs Takuma Inoue - Nov 15 on: October 21, 2023, 12:04:52 PM

Yeah, there's a solid chance we might witness another Filipino champ in the bantamweight division, so we better keep a close eye on this one. Ancajas has been on the road to recovery and is determined to regain his champion status.

The fight's in Japan, and after the controversy that went down in Casimero's match, we're hoping for a clean bout, especially since it's a championship fight. If it does go the distance, we all know who the real winner is. Jerwin's gonna have to go for that knockout to make sure he'll win.

I hope so because the number of Filipino champions has been dwindling with Manny's retirement. It seems like they've lost their inspiration in boxing. I don't know if we'll ever see another boxer like Manny, but even becoming a two to three-division champion would be a significant achievement. As for this fight, Ancajas should really focus on his training; he can't afford to lose this one. It's already his second chance at winning a championship, and if he still loses, I fear his career might take a downturn.

Anyone got any new scoop on this fight? Please share the info if you've got it.

None so far, I think this fight would really push through, I'm interested on the betting odds but hasn't found a site that offers yet.
