101  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: where you get bitcoin news every day ? on: May 28, 2016, 10:21:16 AM
can you share where you get news everyday ? your favorit site ?

Any chance you can edit your first post,
to include all the links people have provided
so everyone can see them all in one place easy
102  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin halving almost there... brace yourselves :-) on: May 28, 2016, 10:14:46 AM
you should be caring about xmas more than the halving date.

If you dont know why, then you need do some research, as it seems the OP has done none.

You may see a bubble or two around the halving date but thats just speculative traders and unless you are actually day trading it is nothing compared to what we need to focus on which is 6 months post halving date.

and it is very likely trading platforms with chop down the leverage (most now only offer 10:1 anyway which is crap)
and the spread will likely become huge, as it has done in the past (i have seen over $20 spread on many occasion)
103  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: scammer Alert on: May 28, 2016, 10:10:33 AM
seems like you were dealing with a nigerian

what did you expect ?
104  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SWIFT hacked...again. What does it mean for Bitcoin? on: May 28, 2016, 10:01:38 AM
What I don't understand is how the hackers can get a BIC code. You normally need to be vetted and authorised to get one and therefore receive money. No Tom, Dick or Harry can get their own BIC.

when you reach 16 and have a normal adult account
and you start making international transfers,
you will find you have no idea about BIC
Bank Identification Code

you might want to look at:
http://www.theswiftcodes.com/
which has all BIC's for all banks worldwide

please, stop talking dribble if you dont know what you are talking about,
theres already way too much dribble in these forums
105  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SWIFT hacked...again. What does it mean for Bitcoin? on: May 28, 2016, 09:57:22 AM
stuff like this do not affect banks that much,
as fiat is only debt

the banks can easily just write this off, as fiat is not backed by anything.

Just think of all the fraud that goes on daily, the banks just write all that off on a daily basis.
106  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have you ever bought something from the deepweb with bitcoins? on: May 28, 2016, 08:43:24 AM
In deep web in fact there are not large sites, like Amazon, which sales something. Deep Web is like IT oriented people Web, and even then - it is very small part of whole Web.  Grin
It is cool right, only 5% of the whole internet is accessible with a normal browser.
The other 95% is all dark/ illegal sites.
you are both incorrect, the deepweb is just non indexed web pages that have no links to them, or are hidden behind login. (which includes pages on amazon etc, your account page is in the deep web)

If you meant the dark web has no big sites, you are mistaken, there are many thriving marketplaces like amazon.
(ok maybe not as big as amazon but not many clearnet sites are either)

when you say the other 95% is all dark/illegal sites, again you are confusing deep with dark,
yes 95% can be DEEP webpages but they are NOT dark illegal sites
107  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have you ever bought something from the deepweb with bitcoins? on: May 28, 2016, 08:36:04 AM
how come so many replies
but yet nobody has pointed out that the OP means the DARK web not the DEEP web
(and most replies are also referring to dark web not the deep web)

The DEEP web is most of the internet, basically the deep web is just webpages/sites that are not indexed in search engines, have no links to them, or are hidden behind user login.

The DARK web is made up of onion sites that hide their server locations, and are only accessible via tor or i2p etc.
108  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptosteel Hardware Wallet Review by Chris Coney on: May 28, 2016, 02:35:44 AM
my friend has one, and its a bit sht
as you need 2

cryptosteel only holds 24 x 4 letters
so any words in your seed over 4 letters, will not fit
109  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: 2500$ for your idea on: May 27, 2016, 06:53:20 AM
i have a few ideas,
one or two i would never tell you, unless you could prove you had funds for development and marketing etc.
and would not want $2500 but shares in the company

what you offer makes you seem like you are not serious about anything
as $2500 for a concept is nothing if that concept works
and too many details are missing,
you have not stated anything about what you want in the business/profit side of things
110  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's your biggest problem with Bitcoin on: May 27, 2016, 05:32:00 AM
day by day transactions are getting slower just like my last transaction for today it takes 11 hours to confirm and received in my wallet and that transaction is unconfirmed till 10 hours,
pay a fee
or is 0.0001 BTC too much to ask ?

my transfers are instant and 1st confirmation usually within a few minutes, paying a normal fee
i dont really see any difference paying a priority fee, maybe its just time of day i make transfers
111  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's your biggest problem with Bitcoin on: May 27, 2016, 05:28:17 AM
my problem with bitcoin is the majority of people using bitcoin, are using it as an "easy" investment,
that they then start moaning when the price is not moving (upwards)

the more bitcoin is being used as a trading investment, the less interest the general public will have.
As bitcoin is then explained to newbies as an investment instead of its practicaility being explained
The majority of people do not care for investments,
they go to work, they get paid, they spend what they earned, and go back to work again.
we need to explain how such people can use bitcoin, without mentioning it as an investment
or telling them it will make them rich in the future
but show them the here and nows, so they can first get an idea why to use.
I agree with the fact that a lot people expect too much from the price and that when it doesn't go up fast enough they get bored and start complaining. That's indeed annoying.

The best thing of Bitcoin is that everyone is free to use Bitcoin how they want. If one person want to use it solely as an investment tool, then it's great for that person.

If another person prefers to only use Bitcoin to use as a currency for spending purposes, then again it's great for that person.

Best is to only focus on yourself when it comes to using Bitcoin. If you focus too much on others you'll get annoyed for nothing.

i dont get annoyed, but it is disapointing to read the comments from people, that do not care to help btc mass adoption,
they are just dreaming of the satoshi they have got from faucets, one day making them a millionaire in fiat
many users here have no REAL interest in bitcoin apart from they want to use it to get more fiat,
and most of the time they dont want to spend their fiat to but BTC
many satflaps here just want to get BTC for free so they can sell for fiat
112  Other / Off-topic / Re: I spent all my saving on bitcoin, now i am broke on: May 27, 2016, 05:15:12 AM
Did OP write his keys in a slip of paper and secure it in a air tight bag? There's a discussion that usb storage has to be powered sporadically else data will be lost.

should make a paper wallet and laminate it at least twice,
then dip that in wax or something similar that will seal it
then seal in a bag, then in plastic airtight container with some silica gel

or he could just make a paper wallet and stck it behind a picture in the home.

but USB sticks or memory cards are awful to store anything,
just think back how many usb sticks you have had that have failed at one point or another
113  Other / Off-topic / Re: I spent all my saving on bitcoin, now i am broke on: May 27, 2016, 05:10:46 AM
Well, assuming you actually followed through with this, you are either incredibly confident or incredibly stupid.

I'm not saying it is necessarily a bad investment, but you must be very confident in the future of Bitcoin and its ability to maintain value over long periods of time. $2300 USD is a fairly large investment, and I hope that you pay attention to the market and play it right so you can make some money off of it.

Good luck with your investment.

just shows the type of people using this forum,
$2300 is a tiny investment if he wants to earn a decent amount
BTC would need to fly past pluto for him to earn anything considerable
114  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are you a Coiner, a BitBoy or a SatFlap ? on: May 27, 2016, 03:50:39 AM
Add Altcoiner as well.  Grin
*
******
An altcoiner is lower than a satflap (while still altcoins) and not worth the mention,
and altcoiner sounds too good a term
Altdolt would be better
which may now be added to the bottom of the list

Really? Altdolt...haha, no I prefer altcoiner tyvm.
yep of course you want to sound like the better name like you trading full coins
but altcoins dont have any real value, anyone can own an altcoin
hence why an AltDolt is even lower than a satflap
and does not deserve such a name like altcoiner
Get 2BTC in BTC and then you will be a coiner
and can continue to play with altcoins if you want

mki8, the underline in quote is mine. Have you seen the movie Ratatouille? If you did, bring to mind Gusteau's, (a top notch chef in Paris) motto, "Anyone can cook." Not everyone can be a chef. Very Few will be great chef's. bitcoin is the chef (in this comparison) but from the mouth of the great chef Gusteau (think Satoshi here for comparison sake) "Anyone can cook" > that is why we have altcoins today at all. Cooks don't have to cook chef-style food either to taste good and be healthy (to extend the comparison). So yes, anyone can own an altcoin. Can everyone own a bitcoin?

dont really see what you are getting at,
but yes it is quite easy for anyone to own an altcoin, as there are many altcoins to choose from
with the majority of them being worthless, or worth such a pittance its not worth caring about.

Anyone can also own a bitcoin, the current price is definitely not out of reach at all,
but some people may need to work a bit to get a bitcoin,
although really not much work to just buy 1 BTC as current price is still only $450
115  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are you a Coiner, a BitBoy or a SatFlap ? on: May 27, 2016, 02:57:47 AM
Add Altcoiner as well.  Grin

AltDolt is at the bottom of the list.
Where the heck did that 'AltDolt' name came from? Alt + Adult? I haven't heard of it from anywhere but (sorry, not really), but in my opinion, it sucks. It sounds really bad and harder to pronounce, even. I do appreciate you trying to make some kind of category on us bitcoin users.

Oh wait, this is probably going to be one way for insults to appear like maybe those Coiners think they are superior to those SatFlaps. Please don't let that happen.

Alt + Dolt

use google or a dictionary, and altdolt is not meant to sound cool as its bottom of the list.

not meant for insults, but the opposite, to encourage others to eventually become coiners.

If you do not like the label given to your status, then work at upgrading your status, until you become a coiner.
116  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Is it still profitable to have btc exchange service/site ? on: May 26, 2016, 12:49:08 PM
So what you think guys, what capital should person have to start this business?
And how much regular btc exchanger site making ?
we can offer you the setup you need
but you are looking at 100 BTC starting costs minimum
to cover first 12 months
the security of the server is main priority (as you will be a target)
117  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to teach someone about Bitcoin on: May 26, 2016, 10:36:23 AM
A good way for someone to learn is ways to obtain bitcoin; beginning with faucets, then as he realises that it’s a slow method of obtaining it; new ways are open to them like mining and signature campaigns. Making and developing that interest and eventually being resulted in  investing in Bitcoin. This is the best way to teach someone about the bitcoins.

That is a good way to start, but they won't be interested in mining at initial stage and it may complicate the things, but yes signature campaign will give helping hands to the beginners.
Dribble,

faucets etc. and sig campaigns, will NOT interest the Gen Pop
they earn more for their time just going to work.

15% discount on amazon goods via purse.io trumps anything you said anout introducing bitcoin to someone
118  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin IS basically DESTROYED on: May 26, 2016, 10:13:44 AM
China didn't design the ASIC, the mining to say the least, software is provided by western. Just utilize their production capacity.
Even 98% hash from China, they are not from the same group. Last tie I read, the money/technology backing up the operation is from western.

I don't know where we will end up with all this. China definitely owns mining. If bitcoin controlled by china, why dont we go to china?or at least we can consolidate with china, and ask them have a good control. i dont think china is  trying to control bitcoin because i'm sure china know that bitcoin cannot controlled. We all want bitcoins to be mined no matter  where they are mined.

china itself has nothing to do with bitcoin

Just because the location of mining farms are in china, does not mean they are owned by China (the country) or even chinese people

Many miners, MOVED their farms to china, so they could pay less electric.

If another country with very good internet and very low electicity fees pops up, you will see miners move from China to wherever their operating costs are lower, the geo location of mining farms is irrelavent

Also, even if the price of BTC is being manipulated by a few, why is that a bad thing ?
Just look at diamonds,
where the majority are never released on to the market so they can keep prices high and forever increasing.
119  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is your money aim? At which point you would go in "retire"? on: May 26, 2016, 09:20:58 AM
How many bitcoins you would must have that you can go to retire?

What would be your point, that you would say i go and quite my real life job and i dont trade anymore?

100BTC or even 50BTC is enough for me to quit my real job, then I can build my own real business and earn profit with it but I think it will hard to forget bitcoin so I will still trade bitcoin.
Owning a minimarket is my dream Smiley

you will be surprised how little that amount is these days, and wont last 2 minutes to setup any type of business,
you would not even be able to buy the property for your business at those amounts

maybe he is waiting for btc to skyrocket to 10k, then 50 or 100 would be a nice amount to have

it's not like everyone can aim to have 10k bitcoin....
yes and how long til then ?

its annoying how many dreamers use bitcoin, we need to be realistic,
yes i believe BTC will reach that amount eventually,
but it would not be wise to just sit and wait till then as it may be a very long time,
BTC will need mass adoption to reach that figure IMO
and people just sitting on coins (or satoshi) just waiting to get rich does not help BTC in terms of it getting mass adoption.
also by the time BTC reaches 10K, you may also find property prices and startup costs have also increased dramatically
120  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is your money aim? At which point you would go in "retire"? on: May 26, 2016, 09:12:54 AM
How many bitcoins you would must have that you can go to retire?

What would be your point, that you would say i go and quite my real life job and i dont trade anymore?

i would not retire because it would be boring as hell. you have to do something. why are Bill Gates and Elon Musk still working 15 hours a day?  just think about it some more.

There is a big difference in working 15 hours a day
and attending meetings and deciding how your wealth is spent
(sure if my company i would also pay myself for every second my eyes or ears are open)

the majority of us, would be able to stop/retire in a sense, once we have secure reliable income,
like rent from property in good locations.
anything else we do can then just be a hobby,
still ways to keep ourselves busy and earn at same time, but without the need to earn your living from it,
if you already have an income coming in, which is what you need to retire
(not just stop working once you saved a bit, as saving will run out quickly)
