102  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoins achilles? on: August 03, 2013, 03:36:56 PM
Actually, this is how the Internet itself works: It routes around stoppages.  Bitcoin is still very, very new.  In a sense, this is all a big experiment.  As it has no central authority, the only things that can genuinely stop it are: a) lack of faith, and/or b) lack of interest.  The fact that Bitcoin provides near-instant transfer of funds from anywhere on the planet to anywhere else on the planet with a negligible fee will guarantee that public interest will most definitely remain in Bitcoin for the forseeable future.

But as search engines evolved from "lists of interesting links" (which was what Yahoo was, initially), new systems of exchange will evolve from what we have available to us today.

104  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin becoming the one world currency for the New World Order? on: July 28, 2013, 06:16:50 AM
Note: The New World Order is the devil worshipers cult Illuminati (also known as the Bilderberg Group)

Note: The 'devil' is an ancient mythological arch-villain created as part of a primitive explanation of the world, formed over centuries by a tribe of itinerant bronze-age nomads.
105  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: BFGMiner + Block Eruptor - GPU Mining: Somewhat Noobish Question on: July 20, 2013, 09:44:22 PM
I'll give that a try and report back.  Smiley
106  Bitcoin / Mining support / BFGMiner + Block Eruptor - GPU Mining: Somewhat Noobish Question on: July 20, 2013, 09:06:10 PM
Okay, so I received a Block Erupter today. I bought it because I like being an active part of the network, and that I can now do so without killing a GPU in the process.  No delusions that I'll earn back the cost.

I've been using GPUMiner with my videocard until now, and moving over to BFGMiner, I *don't* want the program to utilize my GPU *and* the Block Erupter - only the latter.

Is there something on the command line to do that?
107  Economy / Goods / [WTS] Silkscreen-on-Durable Vinyl 3.5-inch Bitcoin-Logo Stickers on: July 16, 2013, 03:51:34 AM
I've paid to have these printed up so I could share them (inexpensively) with others.

They're professionally silkscreen-printed on durable vinyl stickers, and are suitable for outdoor and indoor use.

You can see them on my website, http://shop.welikebtc.com/.  All sales in BitCoin and I will send them anywhere in the world.  All stickers ship out within 12-24 hours of payment confirmation.
108  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to save Bitcoin on: July 05, 2013, 12:00:59 PM
If you're not in this for the long haul, I don't see any point in being in it at all.
109  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Ebay Sellers- 0.03 BTC Can ya help me out on: June 22, 2013, 12:44:34 AM
It has arrived and has been confirmed.  What kind of app were you testing, did you make it yourself?

Nah, standard Android app. I've been following Bitcoin for a while, but I'm really kind of getting started as far as actual adoption is concerned. I've made exactly two outbound transactions - one from my primary account to my Android wallet, and one from my Android wallet to you. Smiley

My aptitude is more in the realm of "raising public awareness", which I'm working on right now.

115  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Tax on: June 21, 2013, 11:19:55 PM
FUCK YOU!!!!

I'll lighten up when YOU.... DO SOMETHING to change the world to make it better!!!!, Instead of posting feel good messages on forum boards.
Are you okay with the world the way it is? Are you happy with this situation we have upon us?
If you are, then FUCK YOU, TOO!!!

I think we've determined that there is, in fact, a point in which one has had too many energy drinks.
116  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [FTC] Free FeatherCoin Giveaway for Everyone! While supplies last. on: June 21, 2013, 11:17:33 PM
My apologies Rez, you slipped right through and I'm doing another send now to make up for it.

It's obvious a lot of the submissions are not being sent the coins. This is usually because they are duplicate submissions from people trying to take advantage of our generosity. If you were missed and your account was created before the start of this thread, please let me know in this thread and I will review: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=234672

Thank you! Very much appreciated.  Smiley

118  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Tax on: June 21, 2013, 05:54:25 AM
My understanding, in the United States -

A) If you sell a good or service, you are suppose to report the cash equivalent for tax purposes. This is income tax. You do this is you are paid in cash, bitcoins, or comic books. Doesn't matter.

B) If you hold onto the bitcoins and they increase or decrease in value, that increase is capital gains or the decrease is a loss. That gain or loss is only reported when you convert to fiat.

That's my understanding. I am not an accountant.

That's what I would think, certainly, since there's no way to really tell (easily) which address belongs to whom.

All the better reason to buy BTC but not sell it, whenever possible.  Particularly when it becomes more readily accepted as payment by more individuals, merchants, companies, and organizations.
