Zcash price fell down, it was right until claymore's v7, after v8 everything went down, i hope v9 fixes it and price goes up again...

Price is only going to go down, much further down... Like South Pole down..  Cheesy

Hello all,

I am finally back online for good after my move. It's good timing that this coincides with learning that I won the $10k Zcash miner challenge prize, as it can justify to the wife that the time I spent working on it so far was worth it Smiley

Congratulations! Well done Smiley Nice bonus for you!

---------------RX 490 will be Announced and Launched on December 12th----------------

AMD are previewing ZEN.. Do you think they will announce RX490 as well? I believe it will be released early next year in the form of Vega.

So with his other accounts he makes say on average... lets say... for arguments sake... $2000 a day.. That's great and I don't envy him one bit.

There are 4 ZEC accounts (excluding nicehash) that net around ~100 BTC a month.

That's good, it seems people are moaning about the fee being too high and that he earns too much?
Like I said I don't envy Claymore or any other programmer.
He does a great job and earns his money.
Hopefully he is sat in the sun enjoying a nice cold drink, he deserves it.

As for version 9, we can wait... Unless someone else knows how to code a miner?  Lol  Cheesy

i'm more than a bit curious.. since we are the ones contributing to your dontation.

how much do you earn on an average daily basis from your mining fees?
I am a bit curious about that too. I know that he earns around 800€/day on nicehash only. But how much in total...I have no idea. Probably around 5000€/per day. Nobody knows but himself

anybody capturing packets to identify the address we mine to during donation phases? or does it randomize?

over a grand a day seems excessive for 2.5% surely 2% would have been enough no? heh .5% seems like a desperation plea to get that little extra bit for putting bread on the table it seems. Then again i don't work with serious numbers that often.
His Miner earns him on average 10 ZCash a day.. Which equates to roughly $550.

His address is here - http://zcash.flypool.org/miners/t1b9PsiekL4RbMoGzyLMFkMevbz7QfwepgP

Here I come to try to undermine the zcash with claymore

But I crash after a few seconds

I get 180H / S per card, (rx 480)

This is what I put in the bat:

GPU_FORCE_64BIT_PTR 0
GPU_MAX_HEAP_SIZE 100
GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
GPU_SINGLE_ALLOC_PERCENT 100

ZecMiner64.exe -zpool zec-eu1.nanopool.org:6666 -allpools 1 -zwal my address wallet.rig -zpsw x

Do you have an idea why this crash?

thank you in advance

On Windows you have to add set before GPU...

set GPU_FORCE_64BIT_PTR 0
set GPU_MAX_HEAP_SIZE 100
set GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
set GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
set GPU_SINGLE_ALLOC_PERCENT 100

ZecMiner64.exe -zpool zec-eu1.nanopool.org:6666 -allpools 1 -zwal my address wallet.rig -zpsw x

And don't forget: Virtual memory >16 MB.

?!? set or setx is true?

set modifies the current shell's (window) environment values, and the change is available immediately, but it is temporary. The change will not affect other shells that are running, and as soon as you close the shell, the new value is lost until such time as you run set again.

setx modifies the value permanently, which affects all future shells, but does not modify the environment of the shells already running. You have to exit the shell and reopen it before the change will be available, but the value will remain modified until you change it again.

Thanks for comprehensive answer, but I asked what is more properly used and not the differences between the set and setx?

Well i use setx as global, I don't think there is a "proper" way, you either set it temporary or permanently.
I guess if you have various different cards you would use set, and if they were all the same use setx.

HI guys.

I have a Sapphire RX 470 4GB OC getting about 140h/s with v8 whilst fully stock.  Has anyone tinkered with the 470 and seen if they can get more? Whats the best program to use as trixx and afterburner just seem to crash the card when I make changes?

You need Polaris Bios Editor, change the memory timings, use 1500 strap. Then lower the voltage by -100mv using Wattool 0.92. You should see a gain in speed but your power usage is now lower.

same works for 480x ?

Yes, I have done this with 480's

114  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GPU Rig PORN on: November 29, 2016, 11:29:16 PM

The things sticking out of the cards are HDMI dummy plugs to simulate monitors - if you see in the background, most of the time I only have one in a system (on the card in the 16x slot).  But sometimes when I'm tuning or tweaking things it's convenient to have it in each device.

Sorry for the rookie question - What does the HDMI monitor simulator actually do?  Why do you need it?

cheers and thanks!

It's a possibility that the graphics card hardware fails to initialise properly so you can’t run tasks that need the help of the GPU accelerator.

I just tried dwarfpool mined for two hours
Earned nothing?
Here's my bat file
ZecMiner64.exe -zpool zec-eu1.dwarfpool.com:3333 -zwal xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx -zpsw x -wd 1 -r 0 -i 6

I appeared to connect just fine and I saw my accurate hash rate displayed along with shares found ...but no earnings?

same here, no earnings a looot of time

Pool didn't find any block last 8 hours, u get paid when pool finds a new block.

Do you have any Idea what the average time it takes to find a block?

In a 42 Msol/s network Dwarfpool needs almost 2 hours to find a block (average).

Tested Dwarfpool........ no good, I get about 50% coins more on suprnova.

http://zcash.flypool.org/ 10 blocks an hour at least

I just added Windows binaries with krnlx's optimized kernel for NVIDIA cards. Thank you, krnlx!

https://github.com/zawawawa/silentarmy/releases/tag/v5-win64standalone-r12

Please note that the new NVIDIA version is not compatible with GPU's from other vendors.

Working well on the 750ti! 40 sol/s on average, --instances=2 halves the sol/s rate so I don't use it.

I'm getting an error sometimes quite frequent "socket.send() raised exception." it could be my machine though?

https://s14.postimg.org/61b3v5rk1/750ti.png

Thanks

Zcash sp-mod #1 has a memory leak. Klaust's fork has the same. Seems to be an error in the Silent Army cuda port

I had a feeling there was a memory leak..
Will we get a fix for this soon?
Thanks
119  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's ZCash AMD GPU Miner v7.0 on: November 18, 2016, 11:52:39 PM
my two rx 470 were mining same speed with v6, now on v7 it's one at 162 and the other at 152 (almost not improved)...

Check ASIC quality of the cards, and adjust the power according to the card, a higher ASIC quality of a card will require less power to produce the same speed etc.
