101  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can bitcoins be lost out of existence? on: April 06, 2013, 08:53:05 AM
If that were to happen, the code would change to expand the limit, and everybody would upgrade.
But only if the whole network agreed...

Is that even possible without everybody starting over from scratch?

Yeah, that is already happening. Computer crashes and such. Other forget their coins.
103  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Which would you invest in? on: April 06, 2013, 08:21:25 AM
I would take the coins, due to most of the reasons above. Trying to mine for bitcoins was a real pain (for me at least), and it barely returned. With exponential difficulty and reduced reward (as far as I know), the coins would probably be more useful in the short-term.
Don't forget the energy cost.
104  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: question regarding asic hardware on: April 06, 2013, 08:16:05 AM
Making a custom rig with 10 graphics cards doesn't make it an ASIC rig. ASIC stands for "application-specific integrated circuit" and is in this case only made for hashing Bitcoins. You can by design not use such a machine for anything else. AFAIK no such machine has been shipped.
105  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: question regarding asic hardware on: April 06, 2013, 08:07:58 AM
AFAIK there aren't any proof that any one has been shipped yet. Butterfly Labs claim they are working on some.

Never speculate with more than you are able and willing to lose. Bitcoin is a very high risk market.

No, Amazon doesn't accept bitcoins.

What is XRP?
115  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Have a AMD 6670 on: April 05, 2013, 10:01:26 PM
yea why not use the 6870 for mining i already have a nice gaming machine so i will leave this machine to do bitcoin mining
The people who are earning money on mining have pretty good and sophisticated rigs. I'm pretty sure you will lose more on energy costs than you will earn with such a simple machine.
116  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Have a AMD 6670 on: April 05, 2013, 09:56:05 PM
I might be buying a 6870 today
For bitcoin mining? Only?
117  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin to money? on: April 05, 2013, 09:54:27 PM
Use something local. Since I'm from Sweden I'm using Kapiton.se which works well with our banks.
118  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Have a AMD 6670 on: April 05, 2013, 09:52:47 PM
I doubt you will earn enough to justify the energy cost. :/ A single 6670 isn't a fantastic card.
119  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Best online wallet on: April 05, 2013, 09:51:26 PM

Yeah, seems really risky. Especially considering all successful hacks.
