101  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Rate my Rig on: May 13, 2011, 09:49:30 PM
You might have issues with the 6990 fitting in that case, it is a really long card.  The following Cooler Master case has a center drive cage that can (and must be) removed to allow 2 6990's to fit: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119233&cm_re=coolermaster_haf-_-11-119-233-_-Product

I just fried this "cheap" 1100W PSU http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3756958 attempting to get it to drive 2 6990's, so you probably made a good choice with the 1200W CoolerMaster.

Make sure you turn around the front case fan(s) because LOTS of hot air will be pooring out the "front" of each 6990 (they vent out both the front and the back of the card).  If you're going to run 2 6990's you might want to consider a full-tower case, otherwise the 2nd card is only about 1 CM away from the bottom mount PSU, a full tower would obviously allow more air-flow.

There's my random thoughts for what their worth (probably not much lol)

The statistics page confirms it: 43.976 Ghash/s

It was just under 300 Ghash/s yesterday

Sad

I'd rather not have to reconfigure all my workers, so I am willing to stick it out a bit but just wondering if maybe I have a problem or if it's the pool.  I.e. Do I have something that needs to be fixed or should I just be patient while someone else fixes something that needs to be fixed?  Smiley

I have been having issues all day - works good one minute, not so much the next, but a minute later is good again.

I am still seeing this, anyone else?
105  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: GUI mining - now supports puddinpop's RPCminers on: April 21, 2011, 04:42:09 PM
Is there a way to use this GUI miner for CPU mining only, without OpenCL installed?

When I try to run it I get "Couldn't find any OpenCL devices..." and then the app closes.

If not, are there any other "easy" to setup windows CPU miners that can be used with pools?

Thanks!

Yes the certificate issue appears to be resolved.

It sounds like the private pool option is certainly what I'm looking for, once it has the ability to provide per-worker stats.

Thanks - I will check that out, sounds like it might be what I am looking for!

BTW, the SSL certificate for the site is coming up invalid in IE8, and the FAQ page is empty.

Are there any additional details available as far as how the private mining pool works?  Is there an option to track each of my miners hash/s contributed, etc?

Ideally I would like to allow others to join my pool, track their controbutions, receive the generated coins myself and compensate the miners by other means.

Ok, that's what I have guessed after checking out the client settings, etc..

So, is the custom mining pool software that already exists or or is that something I would need to create myself?

Thanks error!

Do you know if there is a way to determine the individual MHash/s contribution (and any other information) of each of the nodes connected to my server/pool?

Also, is there any control over which node(s) receive the generated coins?  For example, I might want the server node to receive them regardless of which pool node generated the hash.

Please forgive my noobness.

Is there some (easy-ish) way that I could start my own mining pool if I wanted to?  Seems there was something available created by puddinpop (sp?) but I've read that hasn't been in use recently, is it still an option?  Are there any other options that exist today?

Thanks!
111  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: MtGox - single point of failure on: April 19, 2011, 06:38:06 PM
I'm new to Bitcoin so please forgive me if I ask noob questions or make noob comments Smiley

There are other exchanges, no?  BTCex.com for one.  I know MtGox is king but if it went away wouldn't one of the others (or a new one) be there to essentially take it's place?

[edit] Nice timing grondilu, thanks for answering my question 2 minutes before I asked it - impresive!
