1001  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Deep Onion airdrop available for new members? on: August 30, 2017, 10:43:15 PM
I have been on bitcointalk for quite a long time but not registering an account until this early August , I have seen some people say the deep onion Airdrop will not accept new members to register, is it true ? If it is , did they change the policy? I hope so

I don't think they have any campaign for newbie. Their facebook, twitter and reddit campaign to requires you to at least be a member.
1002  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: why bitcoin illegal in asia? on: August 30, 2017, 10:36:37 PM
Bitcoin is illegal in my country as per the statement from government.
But you can see bitcoin accepted here sign board on many shops in the street.
The government have no idea how and what action to take against it's use.
1003  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Being Unemployed Drives People to go to Bitcoin on: August 30, 2017, 10:34:03 PM
It might. But bitcoin being a risky yet profitable investments, the large investors would make relatively larger profit than an unemployed person on his social security payment.
1004  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NEO - The Ethereum of China (Invest before you regret) on: August 30, 2017, 10:31:57 PM
It's a basic concept that early investment on good things would give better returns.
NEO is already proved to be a promising platform, at least due to the team.
And the price is still below $100.
1005  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Any new airdrop coins? on: August 30, 2017, 10:28:57 PM
Noob about airdrop here. They say you must have 0.0001 ETH on your wallet.
Does it mean you are paying that amount for airdrop or it's just to show that you are using the wallet (the balance does not decreases)?

I'm now a MILLIONAIRE because of NEO.

Good for you, but what's the point in your topic? Who cares?

Glad you made the right decision. I'm still missing the NEO train.
Would buy some if I have some coins.
1007  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Waves wallet on: August 30, 2017, 09:29:51 AM
There is a desktop wallet for waves. Though it syncs with the internet.
They still have not got proper way to redeem your tokens through private keys. (Waves is shit)
1008  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Antshares/ NEO [NEO] on: August 30, 2017, 09:25:18 AM
Why is that we can buy NEO in decimal places but can only send them to our wallet in whole numbers from an exchanges.
Is it set by NEO or the exchanges?
1009  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Can any cryptocurrency overhaul Bitcoin's value in future? on: August 30, 2017, 09:23:17 AM
Of course many of them would.
Because with time every technology advances.
Bitcoin sure would be obsolete one day being replaced by better blockchain technology.
1010  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Solo Mining on: August 30, 2017, 09:21:30 AM
Here is a general guide for solomining popular scrypt currencies
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=260049.0

Most new coins would have a solo mineable wallet. Just go to console and type setgenerate true.

or some are just clicks away.
1011  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: use Bitcoin to buy other cryptocurrencies ? on: August 30, 2017, 09:17:29 AM
This question is in the mind of every traders.
Bitcoin itself is considered (is seen to be) a good investment.
And buying alts using bitcoin would be only profitable if the growth in alts with respect to fiat is larger than than the growth of bitcoins.
1012  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: the value of a coin. on: August 30, 2017, 09:14:57 AM
how do you determine the value of a coin or project? (against bitcoin) it's a broad question I know, but what helps you determine the value of coins ??

Value is generally determined by the users (buyers and seller.) When a coin has smaller market cap, it's price can be largely influenced by some players and can be volatile.
1013  Economy / Speculation / Re: Less Volatility Is Needed? on: August 30, 2017, 09:11:11 AM

I read somewhere that someone suggested that Bitcoin should have less volatility if it wants to be part of the mainstream financial system or be adopted by a greater part of the global population. The logic is that if there is too much volatility, the  would be less demand for Bitcoin.

Volatility has been identified as one of the most important barriers to its global adoption (though right now there is no question that Bitcoin is getting popular every day!) especially on the side of the merchants or business entities.

Now, we know that volatility can be minimized once more and more Bitcoin holders would be looking at Bitcoin more as a currency than a commodity but right now this is not yet happening because as the value of Bitcoin is rising we all become speculators.

Is volatility a thing we have to accept as a normal thing as far as Bitcoin is concerned?

Not really needed, it'll sort itself out.

Right now bitcoin is still in the early adoption phase, and less than 0.1% of the world population uses it i would say. It would be obvious to anyone that under those circumstances, bitcoin will fluctuate. When merchants accept bitcoin at a large scale then this wouldn't be an issue.

Plus, is volatility necessarily a bad thing? Would you rather have a bitcoin that is pegged to the USD value? Volatility means that bitcoin is decentralized, and completely outside of government influence. But as i said, it'll sort itself out as more people join btc.

Volatility would surely discourage the large investors who want a bit of security to their investment.
Bitcoin by it's nature is still an illegal investment in most part of the world and is too volatile to predict the future.
1014  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: CVC emotions. on: August 30, 2017, 09:06:39 AM
A token's price unlike a mineable coin depends largely on the issuing team.
How the team does the marketing and would they able to attain what they assume to attain in the whitepaper.
Would they be able to get it's user or not.
Largely most of the tokens are just pump and dump things. I don't see anything special in civic coin.
1015  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Reinvest GAS on: August 30, 2017, 09:03:04 AM
So if my NEO shares produce a fix amount of GAS and the price of NEO and GAS correlate direct proportionally wouldn't it be wise to reinvest the claimed GAS back into NEO rather then just keeping the GAS?

It depends on your opinion.
Theoretically more the NEO, more gas you'll get and more the profit.
But, it might not be as feasible for a trader.
1016  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Cloud mining minimal TH/s needed to be profitable on: August 27, 2017, 04:16:16 AM

Just use https://www.coinwarz.com/cryptocurrency and their calculator.

And add increasing difficulty over time and so on.

But keep in mind that most, if not all, of cloud mining services are pure scams of just ponzi's.

Yeah the data calculator and the maths everything is real scam when it comes to cloud mining stuff. For any of the cloud sites mentioned above the ROI would be around one year looking at the current rate difficulty as well as unpredictable future. What I mean by the future is, whether these sites will last that long or will it shut down due to no profitability by the site itself. Many things concerns me when investing into the cloud mining sites. Though there are lots of proofs about it I still don't believe it. So in such situation it is better not to invest in it.

Whether it's scam or not, they would not be able to provide you the same amount of profit with increasing difficulty for your once a time investment.
It's better to have your hardware with yourself.
1017  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What are you mining today? on: August 27, 2017, 04:11:51 AM
I'm mining Ethereum along with Sia from claymores dual miner with my single GPU. Just an experiment for now.
1018  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Netflix and mining on the side. on: August 27, 2017, 04:09:08 AM
Watching netflix and gpu mining together on the same computer, will it affect the mining performance? Noob question I know, just need some confirmations Smiley

Using GPU for mining and CPU for watching theoretically should not have any relation.
But it's a really bad idea to use a personal computer for 24 hour mining.
1019  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Hashflare and Genesis on: August 27, 2017, 04:06:04 AM
Cloud mining is not one good investment. You are just lending money to them to do every setup for you and give you the profit.
The cost would be bigger than doing it itself (minus their industrial setup) could give you only a little profit.
1020  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Burger King in cryptocurrency on: August 27, 2017, 04:02:08 AM
The token thing is being so popular that every enterprise are jumping to it. Even Facebook is rumored to be issuing it's own currency.
Don't know what the immediate result be but in the long run block-chain technology is coming to everyone home.
