1001  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: NEW!!! Mining farm! on: October 09, 2017, 11:19:54 AM
I'm looking to set up another mining farm to mine the new Equihash algo. coin BTG Bitcoin Gold!
I am looking to buy an entire mining farm over.

4 MINING RIGS:

1 RIG 6x 1060 GTX 6GB's
3 RIG 6x 1060 GTX 3GB's

A couple concern's:

Electricity is pretty expensive here , comes in @ around 0.20 - 0.22 cents.
---> I heard the 6 gb's are better for opmtimal hashrate/powerconsumption?
He told me the rig runs @ about 2Kilowatt, around 500 watts per rig.

Price:
I'm looking to buy this for 6000EUR so around 7000$
----> Is this a fair price? So 4 rigs with these specs...
6x GTX 1060
120 GB SSD
MSI MOBO 6X PCI
1000 WATT GOLD RATED PSU
8GB RAM
CPU I3 / CELERON

Thanks for reading

-R

I think ~7k$ is a reasonable price for these 4 new rigs, but if they're 2nd hand, about 5.5k is fair.
Even your electricity is expensive, but I think mining BTG at very beginning period should make a good ROI.
1002  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Hold BTC or Buy Altcoins - Hard fork on: October 09, 2017, 11:03:29 AM
I prefer holding most of your BTC, and selling just a bit for buying alt coins, they're cheap now.

I got 19 working!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9_mv1pd3BIA

13x 1080ti
6x p106
4gb ram
celeron g3930
2x 2400w server psus from Parallel Miner
1x 1600w evga p2 (Could do without if I really wanted to.)
12x 120mm case fans that just so happened to fit snugly in the case
Custom frame from eBay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mining-Rig-frame-19-GPU-Ethereum-Bitcoin-ASUS-B250-Mining-Expert/322780828479

Your setup is very nice!
Have you overclocked? I saw the hashrate is not high, your P106 hash about 15-17Mh/s, while I overclocked it with 6 cards-rig, it's about 25.5 Mh/s.
I'm just curious about this, because I'm going to build a new rig with Asus B250 very soon.

Thanks!
1005  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Value investment in crypto on: October 07, 2017, 02:49:04 AM
There is a famous book by Benjamin Graham called "Intelligent Investor". It describes an investment philosophy based on underlying value of security. It brings up two basic points:

1. If you don't have a lot of time to spend on investment, just buy a mix of stock and bond indices and hold them forever.
2. If you do have a lot of time, look for undervalued assets. He also proposes some criteria for deciding if a stock is undervalued, e.g. a company's market cap is lower than the value of assets it owns, it's undervalued.

Does value thinking exist in cryptocurrency? Speculation aside, crypto should be driven by the same basic forces as fiat. People would want a crypto token if they want something that can be purchased with the token. Do crypto investors look for underlying value of a token? And if they do, do they look for undervalued assets? Is it even possible in the crypto world?

I think it's too hard to analyze which is undervalued coins at this very beginning stage, as you see most of coins have the same functions and road maps. For me, I just buy and hold some big coins which should have good dev. & marketing team.
1006  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Taiwan not banning ICO like China on: October 07, 2017, 12:01:01 AM
Its official, Taiwan is now following the foot step of Japan by Encouraging cryptocurrencies.
Saw this on the news; as stated byJason Hsu, a congressman from Taiwan’s

"Just because China and South Korea are banning, doesn’t mean that Taiwan should follow suit – there is a huge opportunity for growth in the future. We should emulate Japan, where they treat cryptocurrency as a highly regulated, highly monitored industry like securities."

Guys, What's your opinion on this?
Will this changes really boost the economy of Taiwan as they have stated?
hi dude,do you have links to news about it?
this is a good news, so I'm a little curious

Yeah they should catchup with modern technology, any advance should be good.

I'm currently using: Asus Z270-A, Biostar TB250-BTC, Gigabyte GA-H110 D3A, and waiting for Asus B250. Until now, Asus Z270-A is my most favourite one.
1008  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What coin to mine on: October 05, 2017, 05:13:49 PM
1070 rig could mine many good coins. Most of my 1070 rigs are mining ETH, Skein, ZEC/ZEN. For XMR, I just use AMD cards' rigs.
1009  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: EWBF's CUDA Zcash miner on: October 05, 2017, 05:02:44 PM
Can someone tell me how to show the stats power usage and efficiency like it's shown in this screenshot (not from myself): https://i.imgur.com/sQ4riqL.png

If using bat file, add "--pec 1" to the bat file without the "".

Example: miner.exe --server zec-eu1.nanopool.org --user YOUR_WALLET_ADDRESS.YOUR_WORKER_NAME/YOUR_EMAIL --pass z --port 6666 --pec 1

If using config file, add line "pec 1" to the config file without the "".

Good luck!

I tried this but still no stats appear.
My batch file looks likw this now: miner --server stratum+tcp://zec-eu.suprnova.cc:2142 --MYNAME.WORKERNAME --pass x --port 2142 --pec1

--pec is enough, your configuration is wrong with --pec1, there's no space between pec 1. So try again with --pec
1010  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Any tips on home mining? on: October 05, 2017, 02:48:09 AM
If you're going to build 2-3 rigs, I think no problem, but more than 3 rigs, you should carefully consider on power supply, ventilation, and noise.
I put all rigs in basement just because they're noisy, but it's hard to make cooling plan with only 1 window size of 100cm*50cm.
1011  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GTX1060 vs GTX1070 on: October 04, 2017, 05:44:32 AM
EVGA GTX 1070 SC is a good card. I have 1 rig of 1070, it includes 4 MSI + 2 EVGA, easy in overclocking, yeah so far so good!

ZEC/ZEN/ should be profitable for 1070, you could reference whattomine.com for this (but actually I do not regularly get reference from this, I just mine which coin I believe).

Wow, it's good to hear. I had already purchased the EVGA 1070 SC and the other parts of my first rig, currently waiting for the delivery. How about dual mining and what miner do you use? I heard about nicehash, they say it's good for beginners. Lastly, whats the best OC settings for EVGA card?

Thanks by the way for your response, it is very much appreciated.

Dual mining is fine, you could do it with ETH + DCR/UBQ/LBC...For me, I just mine ETH only.
I use Claymore miner in following link, OC setting as: +600 mem, -100 core, temp. target 70C, 55-60% fans, it's quite stable and stays around 64C.

What brand is best for a 1070 GPU? Is EVGA GTX 1070 SC good or not? And also what is the profitable coin to mine and algorithm to use for a 1070 card?

Thanks in advance for the answers.

1013  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GTX1060 vs GTX1070 on: October 03, 2017, 04:48:01 PM
yea, go amd if your planning to mine just ETH but in my opinion 1070s a good buy for more versatile/flexible gpu

Sorry not aware that AMD is better for ETH. but for future use 1070 is better than 1060? for AMD part which is better to purchase?

I prefer 1070 for its flexibility. But if you focus on ETH, P106-100 is a good choice for better ROI.
I'm using P106-100 for mining ETH, each card costs about 240$ here, and it could draw 25.5 Mh/s, while 1070 may cost about 470$ and hash 30.5 Mh/s.
If you do really want to save up I would really choose  P106-100 because its cheaper and the price difference is too big when you tend to buy 1070 on just mining ETH. This is only on case to case basis but if you do have plans on mining other alts then I would go for 1070 because it is better on 1060 performance but as expected roi would be longer considering on the cost.

Totally agree with you! Mining ETH is harder and harder so in somehow 1070 is a good choice because of its flexibility.

But ETH is one of my most favour coin, and I believe in its future, so I'm going to purchase more some P106-100 rigs.

1015  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Would you buy a 16 GPU prebuilt rackmount mining rig? on: October 03, 2017, 05:08:24 AM
16 GPUs in a 4U rackmount may look good, but have you considered about ventilation yet?
I think it could be hard, I'm willing to purchase if its price around 4800$ - 5000$ and each card temperature should be less than 73C.
1016  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Actual Hashrates from NVIDIA 1060/1070/1080 on: October 02, 2017, 11:18:11 AM
Asus P106-100 6G mining card.

Power: 90%
Core Clock: -140
Memory clock: +750
Fan speed: 75%
GPU temp.: 62C

--> Average 25.5 MH/s
1017  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Best GPU to buy? (Unmetered electricity) on: October 02, 2017, 08:08:03 AM
I think gtx 1070 and 1080 Ti should be good for mining most coins. Vega looks like a good GPU, but I havent tested it yet.
1018  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Zcash (ZEC) price keeps falling, whats your opinions? on: October 02, 2017, 08:04:21 AM
For anonymous coin such as XMR, ZEc and Dash, I think the best coin should be XMR which I'm mining now even with no profit.

ZEC looks like a good anonymous coin, but it has drawback on trusted setup. I will buy some ZEC if it dump back to 150$, but it may be hard.
1019  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Results (ZCash) don't fulfill expectations (sol/s) on: October 01, 2017, 01:25:40 PM
I think market is always smarter than most of us, so if we rely on calculator such as whattomine, market will regulate btw Price vs. Difficulty very quickly.

For me, I keep mining on which coins I believe (I hold them in mid-long term) even it seems no profit now.
1020  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What are the new cards for mining now? on: September 30, 2017, 12:52:21 PM
Best for Monero, Aeon, Zcash, Ethereum Classic & Ethereum Mining Rig with Best Supported Hardware:

Please dont mess around! I saw this shit like in every posts lol, could we report it?

For the new cards: I'm mining with rx580 and some p106-100, for next setup, I will purchase some Vega 64 or 1080Ti, they may result a better ROI.
