1001  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Security help on: July 05, 2023, 09:07:20 AM
As a newbie I have go through a lot and haven’t seen a concrete answer about this how can a bitcoin wallet be retrieved if it happens to be hacked by scammers or fraudsters how can the security team bitcoin do to helps with issues like this?

You can't as bitcoin transaction is irreversible, once the hackers was able to get it our of your wallet, it's gone for good.

That's why we always tell newbies to learn security practice in the beginning, so that the chances of your wallet being hack is slim to none.

There is no security team here, it is what we call "Be Your Own Bank".
1002  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Return Of Terra Luna Classic on: July 05, 2023, 08:32:20 AM
I am dropping it here because it is just for information to all the users. Mostly for those who not heard the return of Terra Luna. Terra Luna a token in the Cryptocurrency Ecosystem collapsed last year May and the co founders were jailed, the co founder was given 4 month jail term. In the month of April, the programmers came up with new idea to relaunched the coin and they call themselves  “Six Samurai." The rebranded name is "Terra Classic"
Six Samurai: Anonymous Developers Seek to Revive Terra Classic Ecosystem

Scam happened, the coin bankrupted many investors, CEO turned out to be a crook who hid from the authorities for some time, but the community is still discussing the possible return of Terra Luna. What's wrong with you guys? It's time to forget about this crap and switch your attention to some worthy projects that have value and reputation in the community. LUNA has neither of these things, and you are still waiting for some mythical revival, like the phoenix from the ashes.

I guess who spoke about it is trying to hype the project again, they could be related to the devs on someone from inside.

But yeah, it was a traumatic experience for some of us, because of the actual collapsed, Terra Luna has reported that they are heavily investing on bitcoin as well as a hedge and put in on their balance sheet.

But this is just a front as they collapse bringing down all investors with them that they might have bankrupt the majority of us here.
1003  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 05, 2023, 07:56:05 AM
True, there are plenty of teams that would go after Lillard with a better offer, so it is highly unlikely that he will be traded to the Heat if there's a better offer, as the Trail Blazers management is always the one to be followed.

here's the article.

Damian Lillard trade destinations: Star wants Heat, but plenty of other teams have more to offer

Teams that are interested are.

Miami Heat
Brooklyn Nets
Philadelphia 76ers
San Antonio Spurs
Toronto Raptors

I recently posted this, but anyway, I never knew that the San Antonio Spurs and Toronto Raptors also like to get their hands on Dame Time aswell, this is how much popular Damian Lillard is, despite not getting a ring he is surely an incredible player for sure, but for me I like him to go to the Miami Heat, he can possibly go with the Los Angeles Clippers and then the Clippers will eventually cutting off Kawhi Leonard for just showing off in a game whenever he likes it and never give a thing with practice,

There's a rumor but not as strong as the miami news.

Lillard should take this easy and he should never create any pressure to Blazers since if this team will not like his future actions maybe he will go on the team where he don't like to play. He should wait for offers to come since if he have good separation with Blazers maybe this team will agree on what he likes and release him without any further issues.

I don't think he created pressure or something, he already shows intention that he wanted to be traded and Blazers said yes and Dame says he wanted to be be traded in Miami.

So that is clear as day as where he wanted to go, so there should be no issues whatsoever as the feeling should be mutual for both parties.

One thing though that might have affected is that fans because I've heard uproar already.
1004  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will fall or rise? $30400 the recent price on: July 04, 2023, 12:26:05 PM
Even if Bitcoin price crashes to the $25,000 speculated, it's still not too steep. Remember that it lost around 80% after its ATH in 2017. I mean, we should grow past this circle of unnecessary fear or panic when we know Bitcoin is a cat with nine lives. Like child's play, Bitcoin will zoom past its current ATH of $68k and record a fresh ATH that will see it above $120k. It looks impossible now but that's a certainty to come in the next two years.
Not only 2018 that bitcoin price decreased significantly. If bitcoin all-time-high is 69000 in November 2021 and the price decreased to $15500 in 2022, that is over 77% loss on price which is almost 80%.

If you are talking about investment, you are correct because if you invest now in bitcoin, the price will increase and reach all-time-high. I know that bitcoin price will increased and reach all-time-high but I am just talking about this time. Even if bitcoin increase this time above $30000, I am not yet expecting all-time-high but price decrease again until next year or next two years.

Going to be a win win for us, if bitcoin goes down, then we can buy cheap coins again, if bitcoin goes up, then just hold on it. So far though we have broken the $30k resistance and we have achieved $31k already.

Hopefully this is still a bullish signal for us, and there are speculators including me seeing the price to go to $36k at the end of the month.

I know it's huge jump but with so many news, then we knows, maybe it's going to be very easy reaching that price.

OP could you please help elaborate which is the copycat site?

In the code, is it a "1" pr and "l" (Letter L). It appears as though it 1. Otherwise, nice catch. It seems so hard to notice for a newbie.

See, even the two of you (Gladitorcomeback) are deceived already, caught by the fake website and that's why I said they used the attack vector is homograph.

1006  Economy / Scam Accusations / [Scam]: Fake 10ktf website on: July 02, 2023, 12:05:06 PM
What happened: There is a fake https://10ktf.com/ out there so be careful. And if you are going to look at https://opensea.io/collection/10ktf, it's one of the biggest out there. So criminals just copy the website and will ask you to connect your wallet right away.

Website:
Code:

So again, this is a warning to everyone, the real website is: https://10ktf.com/.

AS you can see if it very hard to spot as the criminals is using a known attack vector: homoglyph attack. And the this fake website is very similar to the real website:
1007  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo Alvarez vs Jermell Charlo - September 30th in Las Vegas on: July 02, 2023, 01:34:07 AM
Wow, this is nuts, i mean of the two Jermall has the higher chance of betting Canelo than Jermell because the latter would jump up two-weight division just to face the unified champion at 168lbs division.

Whoever of the twin brother he will face, surely for me this is cherry-picking at its finest, how come they can't come up with a fight with Benavidez where that would generate more gate revenue than this one?

Will temporarily close the other thread as I think Jermell will be the likely opponent as per the article but no contracts has been signed yet so nothing is set in stone but I would like the discussion to be focused on this thread for now.

There are videos circulating, not sure what Canelo fight they are watching, but you can clearly hear him saying that he can beat Canelo.

Now is his chance though, he is going to fight the cash cow and skip Tim and go up and jump to 168 lbs just to fight Alvarez. So this is good as compare to his brother who is inactive. I haven't check the odds though, maybe it will be just the same as his twin. So regardless, it will still be Canelo becoming the favorite in this fight.
1008  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC price hitting 30k twice this year. on: July 01, 2023, 03:03:55 AM
Bitcoin price is on it again after a few drop in price at around 25-26k, but hitting the price value of 30k again as it did sometime April this year. What I describe as a gleams of the prospective light at the end of the tunnel of the year 2023.

What are your thoughts on this spontaneous rise again in the price of BTC hitting 30k twice just within the first quarter of 2023. Do you you think it's going to plummet again or do better above 40k? Or is just one of a tempting rise to fall again even below the 25k-26k it did for the past weeks after hitting 30-31k around the month of April?
Please share your thoughts about this.
I saw a flash news today that Bitcoin price hit $31,000 today and it is true then the price has hit $31,000 twice in this year. And that is a very good Significant of Bitcoin in the nearest future to come. The way things are going the price might reach $40k and above in this year. Bitcoin has tried in this year.

Yes, it did hit $31k again, around $31,080k'ish if I'm not mistaken as I'm watching the price. But it suddenly went down again and now stable at $30,400-$30,500. The resistance of $31k still is very big wall for us though, last night (at least in my timezone), as I'm watching the price, I was hoping that we can stay and maintain $31k at least for a 12 hours and see if investors will continue to be bullish and push it harder. But no, that is the selling point of many speculators, so it might be very difficult road to $40k.
1009  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo Alvarez vs Jermall Charlo Super Middleweight (September 16) on: July 01, 2023, 02:02:45 AM
So yeah, pretty much at 168 lbs Canelo Alvarez is unbeatable, the closest fighter to beat him is GGG on their first fight. Charlo might be good at 160 lbs, but this is a new territory for him and we have to question his power if he still has at super middleweight.
Not only his power but also his quickness. You are right, Canelo has been dominating in this weight class, so it's hard to expect him to lose here. Maybe after this fight, we will witness another knockout win from Canelo, further boosting his reputation. This makes me wonder what's next for him. Will he stay in his current weight class or move up to finally challenge Bivol again?

If we look at his contract, it's a 3 fight deal with PBC, so as the news has reported it, it will be Charlo and then Benavidez or Morrell because that is the stable of PBC has as far as 168 lbs goes.

Bivol is on the other side with Eddie Hearn, so I'm not seeing Canelo fighting him, unless he has served that 3 fight with PBC and then sign back with Eddie Hearn and Matchroom just for Canelo to get avenge his defeat to Bivol.
1010  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We All Know, The halving time will be full of drama on: July 01, 2023, 01:25:04 AM
So, is this a good thing? I don't agree with you, the drama shouldn't happen, if this keeps happening, they will continue to create drama in the future to try dump Bitcoin again. If they are late to buy, they have to be fair to buy Bitcoin at a high price, don't dump it to make panic the weak hand.
You are afraid of it, but I am not scared because drama has been an integral part of this market since it was created. Like it or not, it will happen, so we can't do anything but adapt and find a way to live with it. After all, bitcoin is a financial market, a money game, and to create volatility, drama is indispensable. As I said, because this is a game and dumping is inevitable, we should take it as a good opportunity if you want to buy low and sell high.
The thing is, I do not consider Bitcoin to be a money game, I always considered that Bitcoin is future solution money. so I take it seriously like I invest property. I don't know why out there, many people still have that thought and think Bitcoin is Goods and can be played as other centralized assets like stocks and foreign currency. So If you want buy, buy it on spot exchange, where we can withdraw it and save on a non-custody wallet.

Do you really see bitcoin as the future solution money? If you consider it the currency of the future, then why would you care about its price daily, even if your topic is profit oriented rather than treating it as the future currency? If you consider it a currency, you should use it every day regardless of its price, you should not store it or buy or sell low sell high. That makes you no different than I am looking at bitcoin as a speculative to make a profit. Yes, I use centralized exchanges to buy bitcoins, but that doesn't mean I'm storing bitcoins on centralized exchanges, I'm not that stupid.
I believe that the majority of us don't expect Bitcoin to become a future currency, nor are we planning to use it in our daily lives. Let's be honest here: it doesn't make too much sense to be used in that way; it's volatile and extremely valuable. Why would someone pay with Bitcoin and not a fiat currency that constantly depreciates in value? Nowadays, Bitcoin is considered an asset, similar to gold. Would you pay with gold in your daily life? Probably not. Thus, I don't see any practical reason to use it in our daily lives, unless it's for speculative purposes.
Indeed, now that the fees are high simply because the market value keeps on increasing. It would only be advantageous for huge transactions to avoid taxes but with regular or daily transactions, I doubt. Bitcoin is popular because of its volatile market value but with uptrend pattern in a long run. It is more being used as an asset than being a currency. Well, there's nothing wrong with it but people who are pushing to use it on a daily basis are more likely the ones who are not doing so. We are majority of investors here for sure. And it is still a valid action given that there are still issues on its usage and acceptance across countries. But let's see as this industry continues to grow.

Give and take, really up to the individuals on how they are going to used their bitcoin. They can trade it and used as asset just like the majority of us and nothing is wrong with that. There are LN that you can take advantage as well if you want to buy and it bitcoin as payment scheme.

That's why I don't see any drama before or after the halving, the last halving was fine, smooth although that time we have the pandemic.

But I doubt that we will have that kind of a global issues during the halving time.
1011  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin 2024 halving less than 1 year away on: June 30, 2023, 04:16:29 AM
Big companies and institutions now are really making a move for this upcoming Bitcoin halving, just like this one;

Riot Platforms to add 33,000 Bitcoin miners ahead of 2024 halving
https://cointelegraph.com/news/riot-platforms-add-bitcoin-miners-ahead-of-2024-halving

These companies does know on whats upcoming and we arent that blind on that potential jump up.This is why its not really that shocking that they would
really be making out such step for them to take advantage. We are heading there and it is really just that a huge opportunity for those people who does have the money
for them to make out such act which they do know they can really benefit later on. We dont know on what would actually happen on next year
but at least we are fully aware on where it would be heading.

Yeah, even Microstrategy as well recently bought a lot of bitcoin again,

https://www.microstrategy.com/content/dam/website-assets/collateral/financial-documents/financial-document-archive/form-8-k_6-28-2023.pdf

So there is a big race for now, specially for retail investors like us, we should really fill our bags in preparation of the big bull run that we all have been anticipating. It's so huge that this is the first time that we might see 6 digits as all time high.

So just continue to accumulate as much as we can in this cycle and be ready for next year's bitcoin halving.
1012  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: June 30, 2023, 02:21:31 AM
Interesting reports today saying that despite attempts there is apparently no market for James Harden and Kyrie Irving. Kyrie is seemingly still worthy of his contract, but only if he actually plays, which he spends more time destroying his own team in the locker room than other teams on the court. Harden I assume is just making too much money for the drop off he’s seeing at his age. Still, interesting.
What? I think they are still a decent players but with their performances really dropping and being like a butterfly in the league it's really not going well for both of them. I still think that there are teams that may get them or how about they pair one of them with Wemby, it may sound a bad trade but it's likely worth it imo.

They are great but I don't think teams are willing to sacrifice themselves just to get either of the two, specially Kyrie, with so many drama and diva attitude. For sure majority doesn't like Harden at Spurs, specially that they have a young player coming in with a lot of hype in Wemby.

So maybe the teams are smart enough, just like what happen to the Nets, which they traded a lot of their future picks and yet the two or even the three of them, Durant, Kyrie and Harden are already out and didn't bring the team to where it was touted to be.
1013  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo Alvarez vs Jermall Charlo Super Middleweight (September 16) on: June 29, 2023, 06:29:46 AM
The Bivol rematch might happen next year or maybe we will not see that happening at all as Canelo is with PBC now. Bivol is with Eddie Hearn and Match room so I doubt that they are going to work out as Canelo's contract with PBC is exclusive for a 3 fight deal.
Canelo is scared to fight with prime Bivol, so he avoid it and choose to fight with the opponents he think he will win e.g. Jermall Charlo, David Benavidez, and David Morrell. If the undisputed light heavyweight will happen e.g. Bivol vs Beterbiev, if Bivol win, Canelo will wait until he move to heavyweight or retire. But if Beterbiev win, I think Canelo will dare to fight with Bivol since both of them don't have any belt and the judges will favor on Canelo.

David Benavidez is not on Canelo's option as he is hiding behind the reason that there's no benefit for him if he will fight David, which is true, but considering that he's also fond in cleaning his own division, I cannot see any reason why he will not give David the chance and this governing bodies is not doing their job and give a mandatory fight as David is a WBC interim boxer.

That's what Canelo also said against GGG, that he will not give GGG a rematch. But when GGG went to DAZN and sign a contract, Canelo has no choice but to fight him. Same in the case with Benavidez now, Canelo signs a 3 fight deal with PBC and Showtime, so it means that they are not under Al Haymon and PBC. So I wouldn't be surprised that Benavidez is next after Charlo. So he can't hide from his reasons of "not fighting another Mexican".

For Bivol, I think Canelo is not after what Bivol is holding right now as a rematch is just a plain fight to redeem his loss and so it doesn't really matter if Bivol will lost the belt to Beterbiev or not. But as per Bivol's words, there will be no rematch unless Canelo wanted to take a risk and host the fight at his own division.

According to Bivol's camp, they offered too low for their rematch, that's why it didn't happen. So first reason is money. Second, as I have stated, Bivol is with Matchroom and Eddie Hearn, and now Canelo is with PBC and Al Haymon. So we all know that most of the time, boxing politics hinders us boxing fans from seeing great fight and so we might not see a rematch anytime soon.
1014  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: June 29, 2023, 02:47:55 AM
It is a shame too. The Blazers were on their way to a dynasty but Greg Oden’s injury devastated them. Brandon Roy also could have been great, not to mention they had LaMarcus Aldridge and even Zach Randolph. It was just a series of unfortunate incidents that kept Dame from getting a ring, so I think everyone is fine with him ring chasing now. Poor Portland. What could have been.

In fact, Oden had potential, but he didn't even have time to prove himself due to constant injuries. Just imagine how good the Blazers could have been if Lillard, Roy, Aldridge, and Oden had been healthy and played at the same time in their prime. They probably would have been able to win a couple of titles at the time.
As for Randolph, he was really good in the Blazers early in his career. However, I personally associate him more with a Grizzlies uniform than a Blazers uniform.

Yeah, it's just pity how things turn out for Greg, and he has become the epitome of a bust in the NBA, like Kwame Brown. Brandon Roy story as well, his knees didn't cooperate and worst there's no cartilage left on him after many surgeries to repair it.

And then Aldridge + Lillard could have been great by LA chooses to go to San Antonio and he was still in his prime that time, but after a couple of years, his game decline. I also agree that Randolph associated with Grizzlies because that's where he made his name and not in Portland's uniform.
1015  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dogefuck blockchain - Yes or No on: June 29, 2023, 01:41:06 AM
Lol, the name itself is a giveaway, another meme coin with no utility whatsoever, so obviously this is going to be taken advantage by some groups to pump and dump it to death and then make big money and get out of it.

For them it's good, but for those who are going to lose money here, it's going to be as close as a scam could be.

So better just stay away from this kind of projects.

1017  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin breaking out of 2 month downtrend on: June 28, 2023, 09:01:58 AM
^  But isn't it better if BTC breaks out of 31k - 32k resistance asap and pump to, let's say, 40k so when the Fed does their rate hikes BTC goes back down to 31k - 32k and turns that into support?

I think this week is gonna be crucial and that we'd know by Friday if there's gonna be an S/R flip or if we see BTC go back down and stay in the previous range.

Yeah, why not, we are still Wednesday and we have 2 days to see whether there is a flip or the price remains this way or we would see a good pump. For me, might be better if we stay on this range and have a good support line, instead of a unnatural rise to $32k and then we see huge dump as everyone could be selling at that price to make profits. Gonna be interesting short term, or at least for the next 6 months as to what movement we will have. I will be leaning towards a $40k-$50k at the end of the year.

I thought it's already dead. Anybody who thinks investing to this coin is a brilliant idea is either a fool or very naive. I didn't even cashout my airdropped BCH's.

Yes, most likely those who have invested on them are not actually using it and most likely just for Holding.

But doesn't make sense as it should have been dead by now. In any case though, we know who are the people behind it and what they wanted to accomplished and the community are not going to support that kind of attacks.

Although most likely those who have are merely puppet of the project or they are somewhat related to BCH.
1019  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: June 28, 2023, 01:44:53 AM
^ We’ll see. The Trailblazers have been praising Dame for years and saying that they’d help him get to where he wants to go if he ever wanted to leave the franchise, so I could see them letting him go for a lot of picks instead of trying to get a star player. Dame is also starting to age, so from a business standpoint it’s probably time to part ways with him anyway.

At this point in time, I just don’t see why he would even want to stay in Portland. It’s been pretty clear they aren’t willing to spend the money to bring in some big guns to help give him at least a chance to compete for a championship.

Dame is easily one of the best shooters of all time and one of the best players I’ve ever seen, his window of being a star is now limited, so in my opinion he needs to ask to be traded to a contender.

They try but they failed in that process, remember they let go of CJ? Him and CJ are a great tandem, and who they got for that trade?

So it's the failure of Portland management to surround him, maybe its not the money, but poor decisions on their end. And so I guess Dame will have to make the difficult decision to just move out of Trailblazers and start from scratch to Miami and chase that NBA champions with Butler and others as the Heat has so much experience going although they haven't won it but they have been in that position. And so with the addition of Dame, they might get over that hump and become a NBA champion again.

Hello,

What was your first purchase in btc that was a special event for you : it was nice, cute, exciting or great. If you hodl, will you ever spend your btc ?

If you're a dreamer, what would be your dream ?

I can't remember my first purchase, but it was probably a laptop or PC, I invested on it because I have some online business going on that time. So I bought it from a website that accepts bitcoin as payment.

And then from time to time I spent it to pay my bills, like electricity, credit cards and others although I have to go to a third party to process it.

Of course everyone here is a dreamer, it could be a home, a good car etc.
