Each algorithm in X11 may individually be non resistant but it is not the case when they are combined. X11 is a set of hash functions and SHA3 is a hash function, apples and oranges.

DarkSend V3![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2FXMwyU74.png&t=663&c=LJoVV5e4ys3ItQ) ● This approach is almost completely anonymous ● It’s fast, it has little overhead, it’s simple and easy to understand ● It’s decentralized (unlike zerocash, zerocoin, etc)● It also eliminates those pesky “Insufficient Funds” errors. http://www.darkcoin.io/downloads/DarkSendDocumentation.pdf

In other news....bitcoin is taking a bit of thumping today. There are press rumours that the bank of china is about to stop banks from working with bitcoin / alt-coin exchanges. Some of the exchanges, e.g BTC China, has been taking direct deposits into their bank accounts from customers wanting to buy bitcoin. While some will say bitcoin has gone on sale, we could all be in for a bit of a rough ride. http://www.coindesk.com/bitcoin-price-drops-new-chinese-bank-rumours/In times like this, some of the most hilarious comedy ensues in BTC-e trollbox. S6o6SZb99Hqj: anyone buying btc above $250 is a fool, ehhe, btc will be far below that very soon, a smart buy order is around $175 and it's entirely possible btc goes lower than $100 even, ehhe
ehhe ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2Fimg2.wikia.nocookie.net%2F__cb20100702150413%2Fsimpsons%2Fimages%2F6%2F6a%2FMr_Burns_evil.gif&t=663&c=hc_rqZcDSoWRHg)

Can somebody create new threads in "Alternate cryptocurrencies" about DarkSend e.g : "Darksend by Darkcoin" and DGW e.g : "Dark Gravity Wave by Darkcoin" ?

Maybe someone could explain why, when mining with the GPU only, the hash rate is abou 880-900 khash, and when I add the CPU mining I see the GPU rate drop to 810-820 khash? If I close minerd, the GPU jumps back to original hash rate in a few seconds
How much RAM do you have ?

Fortunately there are only 196 countries in the world, so in 3rd page we'll be able to see some coins with real value! ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) Regional & States coins then ?

What about a DRK multipool - anyone? I'm currently doing 10 DRK/day mining directly and could do 13 DRK/day mining a BTC multipool and buying DRK on exchanges. That's +30%. Another benefit would be the multipool driving up prices :-) Thanks. Somebody else also asked why mine Dark, and I didn't get around to saying why I mine dark. Because I'm lazy. LOL, I don't want to have to watch out to see where I can make the most bang for my buck, then hope I can still buy more dark than I could have by just mining it (the price is ridiculously low still, IMO, so it could suddenly go up, and I'd lose out) Also, I know that mining dark is needed to keep the network going, but with my tiny hashrate, that really makes no difference, LOL For me the answer is simple, multipools are used (now) to mine scrypt coins : higher electricity consumption (higher cost) and higher temperatures while mining (discomfort). Therefore, I prefer to mine DRK directly.

Is there an estimated date on DarkSend being out of beta and a "finished" product?
So here's the plan for development: 1.) Beta V4, V5... - Large changes that require everyone to upgrade to use DarkSend 2.) Beyond this point, DarkSend is ready for real use and will be available in binary form (closed source still) 3.) Release Candidates - RC1, RC2, etc - I'll be taking bug reports, but these are smaller changes and none of them should require everyone to update 4.) First stable release - I think this stage should also be closed source until we're sure everything is perfect 5.) Public audits, where the closed source is shared with someone who people trust to review DarkSend (I'm not sure who that would be yet) 6.) After all audits pass and we have a real product, opensource Currently we're in Beta V3, I'm working on V4 right now. I'm fighting some bugs then I'll do another release ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2F7AfjJEY.jpg&t=663&c=yM9ArWD6__Y59Q) Nice !!

Is the block explorer at http://explorer.darkcoin.io/ working correctly? It seems to show the appropriate blocks and transactions, but the addresses it shows start with m or n, not X, and generally don't match what I see from darkcoind Yes, the addresses are encrypted. ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

280x with elpidia memory make a strange noise when i mine x11 algo, is it normal?
Nope, I have both Hynix and Elpida 280x's, nothing like that, just less heat/noise. What settings do you have? 1100 core 1500 mem the noise is like zzzzzzzz but it's not too loud That's the sound of relief of your GPU passing from scrypt to X11. ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif)

In the USA, the IRS just confirmed that Bitcoin is taxable as a capital gain - its an asset.
Those who make any gains should inform the IRS or they will be facing criminal charges.
This then will apply to all crypto coins.
What's more, the government will no doubt be seeking out and testing out ways to track bitcoins in order to ensure US Citizens around the world notify and pay their correct taxes.
[Suspicious link removed]j.com/totalreturn/2014/03/25/qa-the-new-irs-rules-on-bitcoin/[/url]
Everyone please pay your taxes. Do not attempt to hide your crypto wealth with DarkSend. That's just not playing fair or giving the IRS a sporting chance.
Actually very good news, I'd been hoping they'd classify it as an asset. Does this include mined coin or simply appreciated/depreciated value on current holdings, do you know? I can't view it at work for some reason. It does include mined coins. Seems like we should switch "summer is coming . . " to "taxes are coming . . These days I have a very simple mining schedule. On cold days I mine LTC and DOGE. On hot days, I mine VTC, DRK and HVC.
[...] Any coin with anonymity features like darkcoins will get banned by the government anyway. Broscience right there ...

anyone will to post screen shot of temps scrypt vs darkcoin showing temps?
Some report 30 to 50% lower temps with Darkcoin mining, check the main thread. You can ask there for the screenshots too. ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2FrS9d69H.jpg&t=663&c=Eqno8vHLQEbHyw)
